Joe Biden Was Definitely Going to Attack Trump on This in the Debate. He Can't Now.
By Matt Vespa
++++
I would have never thought Snopes would be the one to drop an atomic bomb on liberal America like this—but here we are. One of the popular liberal myths about Donald Trump is the ‘both sides’ event after Charlottesville, where the media and Democrats for years have alleged Donald Trump was referring to the neo-Nazis that assembled during that Unite the Right rally, which left dozens injured and a woman dead after one white supremacist drove his car through a crowd of counter-protesters.

It's the event that reportedly spurred Joe Biden to run for president. There is no doubt that Biden’s debate team was prepping him to sneak this attack line in the upcoming debates, and now they can’t. We’ll see who is truly prepared because Snopes shredded this liberal talking point, rating it “false.” We’ve known for years it was, as have you, but it’s now official: the ‘very fine people on both sides’ myth about Trump is dead (via Fox News) [emphasis mine]:

The left-leaning fact-checking website Snopes acknowledged Saturday that former President Trump never called neo-Nazis "very fine people" during his press conference following the Charlottesville "Unite the Right" rally in 2017.

"While Trump did say that there were ‘very fine people on both sides,’ he also specifically noted that he was not talking about neo-Nazis and White supremacists and said they should be 'condemned totally.' Therefore, we have rated this claim 'False,'" Snopes wrote.

The Snopes fact check now aligns with years of arguments from Trump's camp, who long stated, backed by transcript and video, that his comments were taken out of context. The fact-checker notes that the false claim about Trump's comments "spread like wildfire" on the left, eventually being cited as a cornerstone of Biden's election campaign.

I’m curious how Snopes readers reacted to this article; they probably accused the outlet of treason. The first myth busted about Trump related to the former president referring to illegal aliens as rapists. That line got shredded by a guest writer, Alberto Martinez, in Salon, who was a self-identified Bernie Sanders supporter and a Latino who penned an article begging the media to stop trashing Trump over a lie in 2015.

First, the Trump line that caused the media to go insane at the time:

“When do we beat Mexico at the border? They’re laughing at us, at our stupidity. [...] When Mexico sends its people they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you; they’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people. But I speak to border guards and they tell us what we’re getting.”

And then Martinez' take:

You might well dislike Trump’s words. I did. But let’s not make it worse. He did not say that all Mexicans are rapists. Yet that’s what many commentators did. For example, Politico misquoted Trump by omitting his phrase about “good people.” They said he was “demonizing Mexicans as rapists.” They argued that Mexicans do not really commit more rapes in the U.S. than whites. But that’s not what Trump claimed.

Compare such words with Trump’s words. Which is worse? Writers excerpted the phrase: “they’re rapists,” as if it were about all Mexican unauthorized immigrants, or worse, about all Mexican immigrants, or even worst, about all Mexicans. But that’s not what he said. That’s not what he meant. It was just a remark about some of the criminals crossing the border.

Trump was discussing crimes committed by unauthorized immigrants. Is it true that some people who illegally cross the border from Mexico are good? Yes. Is it true that some others commit crimes? Yes. Is that a problem? People disagree. Some conjecture that unauthorized immigrants don’t commit more crimes than U.S. citizens. But crimes by unauthorized immigrants, even murders, would not have happened if those individuals had not entered the U.S.

He then went on to detail the number of criminal aliens that slip through into the United States, how these are preventable crimes, and how Trump’s rhetoric during that speech is more aligned with what’s already federal immigration law. It’s shocking how this piece slipped into Salon, a left-wing rag, but it’s a lengthy and brutal takedown of most liberal media takes when Trump said this during the 2016 cycle. Yet, like the Russian collusion hoax, it's probably going to take years for this to leave the system of unbalanced liberals.

If Biden drops this line, Trump should respond that even lefty fact-checkers have said it was a lie. The first showdown between Biden and Trump is set for June 27.

Worrying News Out of Lebanon and America

By Sherwin Pomerantz

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said that Israel was prepared to pause fighting in Gaza for a partial deal in exchange for the return of a number of hostages held by Hamas, but insisted the war will not end until the terror group is destroyed.  Netanyahu also said the intense fighting phase in the Gaza Strip was winding down as Israel increasingly readies for a potential outright conflict with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, which has been intensifying its cross-border attacks on Israel. Netanyahu was speaking on the right-wing Channel 14 in his first interview with a Hebrew-language outlet since Hamas’s October 7 terror onslaught.

Asked whether he was prepared to reach an agreement with Hamas after the high-intensity phase of the conflict is over that would constitute a commitment to end the war, Netanyahu said: “No. I’m not prepared to end the war and leave Hamas standing. I am prepared to do a partial deal, that’s no secret, that would return some of the people to us.”

“But we are obligated to continue the fighting after a pause in order to complete our goal of destroying Hamas,” he told the TV channel’s “The Patriots” program. “I’m not prepared to give up on that.”

The US” Joint Chiefs of Staff head Charles Q. Brown warned that the US may not be able to help defend Israel against an all-out war with Hezbollah in the same way that it stepped in during the Iran drone attack in April, the Associated Press (AP) reported on Monday.  Brown, a US Air Force general, also said that Iran “would be more inclined to support Hezbollah."

While the Islamic Republic supports Hamas, General Brown said that Tehran would stand more firmly behind Hezbollah, “particularly if they felt that Hezbollah was being significantly threatened.” According to AP, he also said that any Israeli military offensive into Lebanon could risk triggering a broader war, putting US forces in danger.

In the event of war, Brown said the US would not provide the same assistance as it did when Iran carried out a missile and drone attack on Israel earlier this year. He also said it was hard to fend off the shorter-range rockets that Hezbollah fires across the border into Israel.  He asserted that the safety of US forces was the priority and reiterated that no attacks had been carried out on US bases in the region since February, AP added. Brown said that the US continued to warn Israel against going to war with Lebanon.

Brown's comments come amid heightened expectations that the IDF may launch a military campaign in Lebanon to oust Hezbollah from the territory on Israel’s border to stop its persistent attacks.

Finally, the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish demonstrations on Sunday in front of a synagogue in Los Angeles which resulted in some arrests and some injuries was disturbing. Had it been at the Israeli Consulate there it could have been classified as anti-Israel.  But given the location on Pico Boulevard, the heart of the heavy Jewish Pico-Robertson-Beverlywood area, it can only be classified as anti-Semitic.

In addition, that some of the demonstrators then took off and went to a few residential streets in the neighborhood trolling for Jews to attack, is not something anyone would have ever expected to see in 2024 America.  The communities involved must not remain silent in the face of this biased behavior.  Hopefully there will be both outrage and a realization that things could get much worse if not stopped now.

Excellent Boston Herald Editorial Opinion
By Peter Lucas

Joe Biden could have been a good president. All he had to do was leave things alone. Instead, he blundered into the office and wrecked the country.

He is like the guy on a Boeing 747 high over the Atlantic Ocean who breaks into the cockpit and says, "I can fly this thing" "You don't have to, Joe," the pilot says, "It's on autopilot. It flies itself. You know, computers." Undeterred, Joe presses buttons and flips switches. The plane goes into a nosedive.

Which is where we are today. You don't put a guy like this in control.

He is President Doom. Everything he touches goes bad. And nothing is his fault. He took an energy-independent country and turned it into a nation begging Saudi Arabia and Venezuela for oil. Gasoline prices hit the roof and inflation soared.

But it is not his fault.

He forgot how he preened on Day One of his presidency, launching his war on domestic produced energy in favor of his Green Dream of a fossil fuel free world. Biden, John Kerry, his climate change czar, and the progressives would have you believe that the world will come to an end unless their anti-fossil fuel agenda adopted.

Yes, the world may come to an end. But the chances are the end will come sooner from the unleashing of nuclear weapons then it will come from the use of fossil fuels. But you do not hear politicians like Biden or Kerry talk much about doing away with nuclear weapons. On the contrary. Biden is reopening nuclear negotiations with Iran which will eventually lead to the Iranians having a nuclear bomb. This is the country where its religious fanatics have promised to use its first nuclear weapon on Israel and the second on the United States. If I were to bet, I would wager on the world ending in a nuclear bang before closing out in a fossil fuel whimper. Meanwhile, the rest of the world keeps pumping away, and the American people suffer.

But it is not Biden's fault. It is Vladimir Putin and his war in Ukraine who is to blame, not Joe Biden.

Joe Biden took a working and strict border policy left to him by Donald Trump and turned it into a humanitarian disaster. Hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from countries around the world are pouring into the United States and nobody is stopping them. And many of them are dying along the way. Biden's decision to do away with border enforcement has also greatly facilitated the smuggling tons of drugs into the county, including deadly fentanyl from China that is killing many unsuspecting Americans. But that is not his fault either.

It was Trump's racist border policy that caused all the problems.Besides, he assigned Kamala Harris to get to the root of the problem.

Biden also authored the ill-conceived and humiliating pullout from Afghanistan, causing the unnecessary death of 13 Americans at the chaotic Kabul airport, leaving hundreds of Americans, abandoning thousands of Afghan allies, and throwing the country into the chaotic hands of the Taliban.

Naturally, he blamed Trump, which nobody bought. The next thing you know Joe Biden will be blaming Putin for the Supreme Court's decision to send the abortion issue back to the states. Putin somehow must have gotten Trump to appoint three conservatives to the court in order to roil the country.

According to Biden, the "one thing" that has destabilized the country under his leadership has not been soaring gasoline prices, inflation, the open border, the shameful retreat in Afghanistan, the war in Ukraine, the frightening rising crime rate or the pandemic, but "the outrageous behavior" of the Supreme Court on the abortion issue.

The court did not destabilize the country. Joe Biden did. This man does not belong in the cockpit.

Netanyahu: Intense Rafah fighting almost over, Hezbollah battle is next
Netanyahu, while interviewing with Channel 14, said that Israel is open to diplomacy but stressed that any resolution would be on Israel's terms.
By TOVAH LAZAROFF

The intense part of the military operation in Rafah is almost over, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday night, explaining that the next goal is to bring an end to Hezbollah’s attacks along the country’s northern border.

“The intense phase of the war is about to end in Rafah,” after which the IDF will “continue mowing the grass all the time. We will not give up. We hit them hard,” Netanyahu said in a wide-ranging interview with Channel 14.

It marked the first time since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, that he had granted an interview to an Israeli television station.

Once the IDF completes its intense fighting in Rafah, “we will face north,” Netanyahu said, amid heightened expectation that the IDF is set to launch a military campaign in Lebanon to oust Hezbollah from the territory on Israel’s border to stop its persistent attacks.

Israel, he said, is open to a diplomatic resolution to the Hezbollah threat, but he stressed, “It must be on our terms.”

Any diplomatic resolution must involve a real solution, that includes the “physical removal of Hezbollah from the border,” Netanyahu stated.

Netanyahu speaks of returning residents of northern Israel home
“We will have to enforce it” because the residents of the North must be allowed to return home, Netanyahu said as he referred to the scores of thousands of citizens who fled their communities in the North on October 7 and have not been able to safely return.

“We are obligated to return the residents of the North to their homes,” Netanyahu stated.

He did not provide specifics with retard to the possibility of a third Lebanon war, but said, “We will do what is necessary. I can assure the citizens of Israel that if we are required to take on this challenge, we will do it. We can fight on several fronts, and we are also preparing for it.”  Netanyahu acknowledged that it was possible that Israeli electricity facilities could be damaged in the war, but did not elaborate further.

Making a solid choice for running mate is by and large the most impactful thing former President Donald Trump can do between now and election day. This is particularly important in this cycle for two key reasons. First, it’s the biggest way to potentially sway the few voters who have yet to make up their minds. The second reason is one that amplifies the first in a major way: Trump, if elected, may not actually serve his entire term. Sadly, he is of the age that anything health-wise could happen at any time. He will also be facing remaining legal issues which could ultimately lead to a Constitutional crisis and certainly multiple attempts by Democrats to remove him from office. If they don’t succeed right away, you can be sure they’ll try again in 2026 when/if they take the Senate.

That wouldn’t be a good thing, obviously, for Trump or the country. If he manages to win a second term - assuming he continues to do things I like - I will be right there rooting for him to serve the entire four years. But, here in the real world, the odds of that happening are probably lower than the odds of Trump leaving office to his vice president at some point before 2029. And even if he does finish out, his VP pick will almost certainly be a favorite for the GOP nomination in 2028.

So yeah, Trump’s running mate selection is critically important, probably more so than the VP pick of any other major presidential candidate in decades. Not only can this person help the GOP ticket win, he or she may very well become the next President of the United States.

Enter Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, the only logical choice for Trump’s running mate.

Vance is a well-liked senator who easily won an election in a swing state where the other senator is a Democrat and the governor is a Republican squish. He’s also not only based as hell on every issue that matters, particularly the issues that propelled Trump to victory in 2016, but he’s one of the best in the country at articulating those positions to ordinary working-class voters. In an election where almost every voter in the country has made up their minds yet still promises to be razor thin, convincing even a subset of voters to switch their political allegiance will be more critical than ever.

Hillbilly Elegy, the Ohio senator’s autobiography of coming from hardscrabble Appalachian roots to serving as a U.S. Marine in the Iraq War and eventually graduating from Yale Law School, displays a deep understanding of the brand of working-class Americans it will take to win back the Rust Belt from Democrats, as Trump did in 2016. Vance can speak to these folks because he is one of them.

But even better, Vance is also in the unique position of being able to speak to Trump skeptics thanks to his political evolution from NeverTrumper to staunch Trump supporter. He is held in high regard by the MAGA movement, so he won’t lose any votes there, but he just might be able to convince some people who wouldn’t otherwise vote for Trump that it is in their best interests to do so.

As the icing on the cake, can you imagine what J.D. Vance would do to Kamala Harris in a debate? The ensuing massacre would make headlines like no other VP debate has since Lloyd Bentsen ‘Jack Kennedy’d’ Dan Quayle. Viral clips would be playing on social media for weeks right up until election day.

Finally, and this is where it really gets interesting, Vance would provide a unique backstop against any Deep State actions against Trump, whether that be - God forbid - an assassination or even less lethal attempts to remove him from office. The last thing these people want is J.D. Vance in the White House, and that is exactly what they’d get if they removed Trump.

Vance is eloquent and articulate, looks the part, is right on the political positions, will expand the GOP base like no other running mate could, and could keep the Deep State from removing Trump from office. He would also be a refreshing choice for those tired of the race and gender pandering that typically goes into these types of positions. Would Tim Scott, for example, result in moving the needle on the black vote one iota? Would more women in Michigan vote Trump simply because Tulsi Gabbard is on the ticket, especially compared to voters who would be turned off by her other positions? The answer to both those questions is a resounding “no.”

If I were Trump, I would choose J.D. Vance immediately and put him to work making endless campaign stops in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania speaking to issues that matter to voters who have been devastated by Democratic economic policies. It’s an obvious choice, and as much of a no-brainer as anything I’ve seen in politics.

Families of Three Hostages Publish Footage of Loved Ones' Abductions by Hamas on Oct. 7

The families of three hostages currently being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza: Eliya Cohen (26), Hersh Goldberg-Polin (23), and Or Levy (33), have published new footage showing the abduction of their loved ones to Gaza on Oct. 7th.

During the terror attack, the three young men sought refuge in what became known as the "Death Shelter," a bus shelter that terrorists fired inside of and threw grenades into. Most people hiding inside were murdered.

Eliya was shot and hid under corpses.

Hersh's arm was blown off.

Or saw his wife murdered.

We urge you to do your part by bearing witness to and sharing THIS VIDEO of the abduction footage. Viewer discretion is advised.

We must each do our part in demanding that the international community call upon Hamas to immediately and unconditionally release all of the remaining hostages being held in Gaza. #BringThemHomeNow

IDF Chief Provides Critical Update on Rafah Operation

Last night (June 23), the Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, LTG. Herzi Halevi, conducted a situational assessment in the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip with the Commanding Officer of the Southern Command, MG. Yaron Finkelman, the Commanding Officer of the 162nd Division, BG. Itzik Cohen, battalion commanders, and additional commanders. During the assessment, LTG. Halevi delivered a critical update on the results of the military's operation against Hamas terror targets in Rafah.

According to the general, "We have very high levels of achievements from the combat in Rafah, and I express great appreciation for that. This is reflected in the amount of terrorists that have been eliminated, as well as the terror infrastructure destroyed, the mapping and destruction of underground terror tunnel routes, and the progress in the complex underground combat."

The general continued: "The fact that the 162nd Division now controls the Philadelphi Corridor from the sea to the border between Israel, Gaza, and Egypt, is very significant in cutting off Hamas's supply for future smuggling. We are now dealing with the terror organization's underground assets."

Most notably, LTG. Halevi stated, "We are clearly approaching the point where we can say we have dismantled the Hamas Rafah Brigade, that it is defeated not in the sense that there are no more terrorists, but in the sense that it can no longer function as a fighting unit. It has suffered many casualties."

Hezbollah Storing Weapons and Explosives in Beirut's Main Civilian Airport

A cartoon depicting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah with a missile stored inside Lebanon's main airport.

A newly-released report from the Telegraph has revealed that the Hezbollah terror organization, Iran's proxy in Lebanon, is storing a massive stockpile of weapons and explosives inside Beirut's main civilian airport. The following is an excerpt from the report:

"Hezbollah is storing huge quantities of Iranian weapons, missiles, and explosives in Beirut’s main civilian airport, according to airport whistleblowers.

The cache allegedly includes Iranian-made Falaq unguided artillery rockets, Fateh-110 short-range missiles, road-mobile ballistic missiles and MI600 missiles with ranges of over 150 to 200 miles.

Also at the airport is the ATI14 Kornet, laser guided anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), huge quantities of Burkan short-range ballistic missile and explosive RDX, a toxic white powder also known as cyclonite or hexagon.

The disclosures raise fears that the Rafic Hariri airport, just four miles from the city centre, could become a major military target. Fateh-110 short-range missiles are claimed to be among the various weaponry stored in the airport.

One airport worker, speaking to The Telegraph on condition of anonymity, said: “This is extremely serious, mysterious large boxes arriving on direct flights from Iran are a sign that things got worse. “When they started to come through the airport, my friends and I were scared because we knew that there was something strange going on.”

He raised fears that an attack on the airport or explosion there could cause significant damage, and compared a possible blast to the one that ripped through the port and damaged much of downtown Beirut in 2020.

“Beirut will be cut off from the world, not to mention the number of casualties and damage,” he warned.

Hezbollah's use of airports and other civilian infrastructure for terror purposes is a war crime and should be resolutely condemned by the international community. To read the full report, click HERE.

Pro-Terror Mob Assaults Jews in Predominantly-Jewish Los Angeles Neighborhood

Scenes from yesterday's violence perpetrated against Jews by a pro-Hamas mob.

Yesterday, a masked pro-terror mob in the predominantly Jewish Pico-Robertson area of Los Angeles assaulted Jews and blocked entry to the Adas Torah synagogue and Jewish businesses. Members of the mob were heard praising the Hamas and Hezbollah terror organizations, and called for violence against Jews.

U.S. President Joe Biden condemned the mob's violence, stating, "I’m appalled by the scenes outside of Adas Torah synagogue in Los Angeles. Intimidating Jewish congregants is dangerous, unconscionable, antisemitic, and un-American. Americans have a right to peaceful protest. But blocking access to a house of worship – and engaging in violence – is never acceptable."

Footage of the mob's violent crimes can be viewed HERE. Viewer discretion is advised.

Consulate Participates in White Rose Society Award Ceremony at Free Chapel in Atlanta

From left to right: Consul General Sultan-Dadon, Pastor Jentzen Franklin, Senior Pastor of Free Chapel, Linda Selig, Founder of the White Rose Society, and Rabbi Peter Berg, Senior Rabbi at The Temple in Atanta.

Yesterday, our Consulate had the privilege of participating in Free Chapel church's sunday service in Gainesville, GA, during which the Linda Selig of the White Rose Society presented an award to Free Chapel's Senior Pastor Jentzen Franklin for his steadfast support of the Jewish community and the State of Israel during this time of rising violent antisemitism around the world. Through a unique partnership with the Jewish National Fund (JNF) and Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries (FIRM), Free Chapel and Jenetzen Franklin Media Ministries have provided incredible support to the people of Israel by contributing to life-saving initiatives within the country.

The White Rose Society honors and thanks non-Jewish individuals who stand by the Jewish people and the State of Israel during this difficult time. The name “The White Rose Society” pays homage to the Weiße Rose (White Rose), a non-Jewish resistance group founded by students at the University of Munich in 1942 to oppose Nazi atrocities against the Jewish people. Tragically, the members of the society were executed by the Nazis for their courageous moral clarity.

During the service, Consul General Sultan-Dadon spoke alongside White Rose Society founder Linda Selig and Senior Rabbi Peter Berg of The Temple in Atlanta. In her remarks, the Consul General spoke about the threat which the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies (namely Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis) pose not just to the Jewish people and the State of Israel, but to the entire free world. The Consul General also addressed the ongoing violent actions of pro-terror mobs in the United States and around the world, and urged everyone in attendance to use their voice to speak up against this hate, and for the release of all the remaining hostages being held in Gaza by Hamas. Click HERE to view footage of Consul General Sultan-Dadon's remarks.
