One of America's great institutions with a host of bright minds but they cannot save  America alone.

Richard,

Hoover Institution fellows impact our nation's and world policies by developing ideas defining a free society. Below you will find examples of their research and analysis on topics such as tech censorship, Chinese aggression, the future of cities after COVID, and much more.

I'm also pleased to share a link to the new Thomas Sowell documentary so you can watch it in its entirety. We also honor a great American, George P. Shultz, who passed away last month at 100 years old.

Thank you for being a part of the Hoover community. You're a vital partner in disseminating the work of the extraordinary Hoover scholars in your spheres of influence.

BUILDING ON THE LIFE AND LESSONS OF GEORGE P. SHULTZ

Hoover senior fellow George P. Shultz—Secretary of State for President Ronald Reagan and one of only two individuals to ever hold four federal cabinet posts—passed away February 6 at age 100. He is remembered as the "great convener" because he would assemble extraordinary minds to tackle the most difficult and vexing problems. Read this tribute to one of the most influential lives of the 20th and 21st centuries—and his lasting impact on America and the Hoover Institution.

BATTLEGROUNDS WITH H.R. MCMASTER SURVEYS THE WORLD

Hoover senior fellow and former National Security Advisor Gen. H.R. McMaster created the Battlegrounds series to examine the crucial geo-political “battlegrounds” of freedom around the globe. Recent episodes include:

DEFENDING THE IDEAS THAT DEFINE AMERICA

The 1776 Commission issued its report earlier this year on the growing challenges to the history and principles of America’s founding. Hoover senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson was on the commission and wrote an assessment of the content and significance of the report as well as the struggle to define America’s birth.

BIG TECH CENSORSHIP AND FREE-SPEECH

Hoover’s Niall Ferguson—author of the book The Tower and the Square which addresses the growing power of the Internet and its “oligarchical” rulers—evaluates the power of network platforms in light of recent events in The Tech Supremacy: Silicon Valley Can No Longer Conceal Its Power.

GOODFELLOWS: CONVERSATIONS FROM THE HOOVER INSTITUTION

Hoover distinguished fellow
Peter Robinson joined senior fellows Niall Ferguson, H. R. McMasterJohn Cochrane to discuss the GOP's brand, their shared memories of the late George P. Shultz, and one fellow's disdain for the Super Bowl and the American version of "football".

THE HUMAN PROSPERITY PROJECT

As part of Hoover’s ongoing examination of socialism, capitalism, and human prosperity, senior fellow Terry Anderson created the PolicyEd video Economic Growth: The Path to a Cleaner Environment. In it he explains that economic prosperity with well-defined property rights leads to greater environmental protection. This video is based off of Anderson's paper Environmental Markets vs. Environmental Socialism: Capturing Prosperity and Environmental Quality.
