Be Glad You Are Not Wearing His Shoes!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Some random thoughts:
a) Everyone has needs.  We all need to be liked, we all need to be appreciated for what we do, we all need to be needed etc.

In Trump's case perhaps his needs are somewhat excessive.

b) That said, any fair minded person should be willing to give the devil his due and congratulate Trump and his team for yeoman effort and doing right y our nation.

c) Compare the average household with America's unpreparedness and perhaps that will put matters in perspective.

The run on TP is a reflection that we were unprepared for a long siege. Show me a head of household that stocks months of TP and I will show you a neurotic. Businesses of all stripe stock according to a general pattern of need and make allowances for seasonal trends. No one can afford to continuously overstock.  It would be a poor use of one's capital unless they were trying to corner the market, as The Hunt's once tried and failed,  or were preparing to go to war.  This is the only reason our nation keeps a huge reserve supply of oil.

If what I have written is rational and mostly factual, even though there have been reports of unheeded warnings, it is not Trump's fault  he found an inadequate/out of date response system to a virus we have never experienced.  To attack Trump is pure politics and partisanship.

Once the crisis is over we can examine to correct mistakes.

d) Considering China knew and withheld cannot be blamed on Trump.  China is not only our enemy but also  a Communist run government and secretive at best. We know little of what truly goes on in that country try as we may. Thus, we lost the advantage of time but once Trump realized what we were up against his response has been swift and the results have been amazing in large measure due to Trump's decisions. to work in partnership with the private sector and to eliminate many governments restraints on production, supply etc.

e) When it comes to Trump Pelosi, The NYT's, WAPO and  CNN they  are cut from the same cloth.  They hate Trump.  Based on  their actions and statements they care not about the nation because politics and lies seems all that interests them.  When the Coronavirus crisis has passed, and the American people get a chance to assess the responses of various national figures and media, one would hope they will suffer for their despicable actions.

Cher Lashes Out on Trump, Says He is a “Sick Man” Who Is “Addicted” to the “Camera” Read More

Contrary to what you hear from the mainstream media, According to Dr. Fauci himself, he says President Donald Trump listens to his advice and stands with the science every single time. Fauci gives him advice on if something is a good or bad idea, and Fauci says he listens to it. This is despite what Joe Biden is out there suggesting.

And yes, as we enter the eye of the storm, the need to shift may compel Trump to refocus and assume risks he would rather not take but he cannot allow America to falter economically. Life is full of compromises and Hobson-like choices. Be glad you are not wearing his shoes.

A Re-Post. Democrat Hater Posts Why Elitist Brits Hate Trump.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Had to re-post what Blake and Dagny have done with their pooches.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I received this from a staunch Democrat who hates Trump and I followed with my response:

"Hooray for the British.  This is fantastic
Subject: A British Description of Trump

This will make your day. The writer and whoever manipulated his photograph really captured the essence of this rectal orifice.

Because it’s right on, it totally nails him, all that goes thru my mind is how the f--- did this happen to us? S---- "
BRITISH WRITER PENS THE BEST DESCRIPTION OF TRUMP

Someone asked "Why do some British people not like Donald Trump?" Nate White, an articulate and witty writer from England wrote the following response:

A few things spring to mind.  Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem.  For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no credibility, no compassion, no wit, no warmth, no wisdom, no subtlety, no sensitivity, no self-awareness, no humility, no honour and no grace – all qualities, funnily enough, with which his predecessor Mr. Obama was generously blessed.

So for us, the stark contrast does rather throw Trump's limitations into embarrassingly sharp relief.

Plus, we like a laugh. And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever.

I don't say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever. And that fact is particularly disturbing to the British sensibility – for us, to lack humour is almost inhuman.

But with Trump, it's a fact. He doesn't even seem to understand what a joke is – his idea of a joke is a crass comment, an illiterate insult, a casual act of cruelty.  Trump is a troll. And like all trolls, he is never funny and he never laughs; he only crows or jeers.

And scarily, he doesn't just talk in crude, witless insults – he actually thinks in them. His mind is a simple bot-like algorithm of petty prejudices and knee-jerk nastiness.  There is never any under-layer of irony, complexity, nuance or depth. It's all surface.

Some Americans might see this as refreshingly upfront.  Well, we don't. We see it as having no inner world, no soul.  And in Britain we traditionally side with David, not Goliath. All our heroes are plucky underdogs: Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Oliver Twist.  Trump is neither plucky, nor an underdog. He is the exact opposite of that.  He's not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat.  He's more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege.

And worse, he is that most unforgivable of all things to the British: a bully.  That is, except when he is among bullies; then he suddenly transforms into a snivelling sidekick instead.

There are unspoken rules to this stuff – the Queensberry rules of basic decency – and he breaks them all. He punches downwards – which a gentleman should, would, could never do – and every blow he aims is below the belt. He particularly likes to kick the vulnerable or voiceless or female – and he kicks them when they are down.  So the fact that a significant minority – perhaps a third – of Americans look at what he does, listen to what he says, and then think 'Yeah, he seems like my kind of guy' is a matter of some confusion and no little distress to British people, given that:

Americans are supposed to be nicer than us, and most are.

You don't need a particularly keen eye for detail to spot a few flaws in the man.

This last point is what especially confuses and dismays British people, and many other people too; his faults seem pretty bloody hard to miss.

After all, it's impossible to read a single tweet, or hear him speak a sentence or two, without staring deep into the abyss. He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness; a Shakespeare of shit. His faults are fractal: even his flaws have flaws, and so on ad infinitum.  God knows there have always been stupid people in the world, and plenty of nasty people too. But rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid.  He makes Nixon look trustworthy and George W look smart.  In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws – he would make a Trump.

And a remorseful Doctor Frankenstein would clutch out big clumpfuls of hair and scream in anguish:  'My God... what... have... I... created?  If being a twat was a TV show, Trump would be the boxed set.

My response: "He actually has a great sense of humor.  He certainly would not pass the British Elite's test because they are mostly stuffed shirt anti-Semites.

I remember this from my youth. There will always be an England, far across the sea.  As long as there's America to fill it's treasury.

Stay well and be safe.  We  "Ugly Deplorable  Americans" seem to get it. Me

  3. Life is a series of compromises. They did not waffle:

the Waffle House hits Index Red

By Salena Zito

CHAMBERSBURG, Pennsylvania — It is early Sunday morning along one of the few congested stretches of the Lincoln Highway when an empty parking lot below the familiar cheery yellow sign for the local Waffle House catches the eye.
The 24-hour diner chain, born in Atlanta 65 years ago and now spread across 25 states in nearly 2,000 locations, is primarily known for its ability to serve as a touchstone in every community it serves. It feeds a cult-like following among foodies and road warriors.
The shuttered doors along the first coast-to-coast U.S. highway told you everything about the state of things. The coronavirus's spread is likely to get worse in the coming weeks before it gets better — before we get better.
No matter where you walk into a Waffle House in this country, whether in the diner’s home state of Georgia, here in Chambersburg, or in the Waffle House in Clark Summit, Pennsylvania, you can expect without fail a cheerful hello at the door, a jukebox at your table, no-frills seating, and the nostalgic scent of frying oil for the hot irons. The waitstaff will definitely call you "honey,” and of course, you'll hear orders shouted to the kitchen in the diner’s distinct hash brown lingo.

Now is not the time to go political but before the Nov. vote is cast Trump's team should put together a video of the lies and distortions he and the nation has endured both from the mass media as well as persons. It should prove highly instructive considering Trump took charge, assembled a solid team of advisors, mainly took their advice and the rest became history.  Nothing Trump did will change the minds of the haters but for the more fair minded and objective no doubt Trump has risen in their opinion because he made decisions that were mainly good for the nation. He came through in a crisis and the story has not ended.

Democrats need to recruit Obama to bench Biden, find another candidate:

By Michael Goodwin

It is a given in politics that an incumbent has the advantage until things go wrong, at which point the challenger gets an edge. Then why, amidst panic, death and economic shutdown, is Joe Biden looking like the sick man of 2020?
Biden’s predicament is odd considering a key pillar of Donald Trump’s presidency — record low unemployment — is being vaporized. Thursday’s 3.3 million new unemployment claims wiped out nearly half the jobs created in the last three years, and the worst is yet to come.
Millions upon millions of Americans are fearful about their health and that of their loved ones, and the job losses and stock-market plunges are robbing family nest eggs. In addition, much of the media is slanting their coverage to damage Trump, all of which should be giving Biden a huge boost.
Indeed, my initial assumption was that the former veep caught a lucky break in the timing of the coronavirus outbreak. His winning streak in the last primaries gave him a solid lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders just before the shutdown froze the race and spared Biden added focus on his glaring weaknesses. At the same time, Trump would be on the hot seat and inevitable missteps would magnify the sense of an out-of-control crisis, damaging if not destroying his re-election chances.
So how did the script get flipped, with Trump rising and Biden shrinking? And what can Dems do about it?
The first answer is fairly obvious: Trump has outperformed expectations as Biden first disappeared, then reappeared in several dreadful performances.
Despite initial reluctance, the president embraced the pandemic as a national threat and is ordering a massive mobilization. He calls himself a “wartime president” and is leading from the front, to a fault on occasion.
His daily briefings demonstrate the hands-on approach Americans expect from a president during an emergency. He’s on the case, and that’s half the battle when stricken citizens need reassurance that somebody is looking out for them.
Trump made a good choice in tapping Vice President Mike Pence to lead the task force, and the core team is credible and likeable, especially Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx. By setting a target date of Easter, April 12, for a partial easing of federal restrictions, the president injected the first ray of optimism in the dreary projections.
Naturally, many on the left refuse to share that optimism, preferring a sky-is-falling pessimism and demanding a national lockdown. Nor are they welcoming signs of bipartisanship, choosing to magnify even slight differences as absolute proof that America remains polarized.
As for the media, their hostility toward Trump for four years has led them to cheerlead for a Biden victory.
In truth, with the virus continuing to spread and deaths rising, all Democrats might benefit from the outbreak. But for now, that looks less likely because Trump is turning the tables.
Polls show the president’s job-approval rising, and his handling of the crisis is getting strong majority support, including 60 percent in a Gallup survey. And that was before he helped push the $2.2 trillion relief bill over the goal line.
Meanwhile, Biden is a shrunken version of the guy who got hot at the right time. After going silent for nearly a week, he emerged in video clips and interviews from the basement of his Delaware home, where he is quarantining himself.
Looking isolated and lapsing into occasional gibberish, he seemed every bit the mentally challenged 77-year-old he was on the worst days of the campaign. Although he did better on a CNN virtual town hall Friday, his tics, such as having a three-point answer to every question, do not inspire confidence that he is capable of being president for four years.
So what can Dems do?
Find another nominee. But first, they must bench Biden, or persuade him to bench himself.
The former president remains the most trusted member of his party and is uniquely situated to deliver the bad news to his vice president. In fact, it won’t be a total surprise given that Obama never endorsed Biden, despite making it clear he did not want Sanders, the only other choice, to be the nominee.
Obama could pitch withdrawal as a final public service to country and party. For all we know, members of Biden’s family share the idea and would welcome Obama’s intervention.
The timing is tricky because the remaining primary schedule is in flux, leaving Biden about 800 delegates short of the required majority of 1,991. It is even possible the July convention will be postponed or canceled, creating huge complications around the nomination.
And moving Biden aside makes sense only if there are better alternatives. By my count, there are three.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is emerging as a favorite of some Dems because of his take-charge approach to the virus. His aggressive style would be a worthy counter to Trump’s and, as a prodigious fundraiser with a legacy name, he would be better than Biden at uniting the party. At 62, he isn’t burdened by age and health issues.
On the downside, the New York model of sky-high taxes and insanely expensive public services would be a hard sell in swing states, as would Cuomo’s foolish ban on fracking and fuel pipelines.
Nancy Pelosi also deserves consideration. The House speaker enjoys huge name recognition, is adept at twisting rich arms and has the requisite personal hatred of Trump. However, she turned 80 last week and her name on the ballot would unite Republicans as well as Dems.
And there is always Hillary Clinton. Insiders say she hasn’t given up despite being a two-time loser, and a rematch of 2016 would galvanize the nation. Her Trump grudge would be the only rationale she would need and might give Dems the turnout they would need.
But first things first. Paging Dr. Obama . . .
About buddy buddy Blasio
Stop the presses: Here is what President Trump said Friday about Mayor de Blasio:

“I’ve really gotten to like him. I get along with him very well. Now, he wants us to do certain things, and we’ve produced.”
Given that they were nasty combatants, there are two possible explanations for the change.
One, Trump means it. He loves his hometown and sees the mayor as a good partner in trying to save lives.
Two, Trump is embracing de Blasio because Gov. Cuomo shuns the mayor. Cuomo and Trump swapped praise for a few days, but now are swapping barbs. So the enemy of Trump’s enemy is his new best friend.
The old maxim that “if it bleeds, it leads” explains why bad news dominates the media, yet the need for good news has rarely been greater.
Which is why I recommend the “Hero of the Day” feature in The Post. It sings the praises of ordinary New Yorkers helping others however they can.
It’s a guaranteed mood lifter. And inspiring.
