It is the story of the business men who helped Birmingham, The Magic City, oust Bull Connor , change the political structure of the city's government and the racial climate. Our kids just left and Leah, our beautiful 14 month old great grandchild, has really never been able to socialize because of the pandemic. Consequently when she met Lynn and myself she was very reluctant to come to us and went right back to her mother. I mention this not because I am worried about her social development but just as an observation about the impact COVID will have on her generation. Olvia, her 4 year old sister is extremely social and verbal and is a "hugger." Leah will be fine but her "clinginess" is something she will have to, and will, overcome but it will probably shape her in some way.
Which brings me to repeat the CCP is a scourge just as Nazism was, just as Communism is and will always be. The youthful radicals in our society know not what they are doing when they believe what America offers is not preferable to China, Russia and all the other nations who make the world a more dangerous one. How very sad for mankind.

I recently had a LTE published in the local SMN explaining why, under radical Democrat standards, I am now deemed a racist.
Several days later, because of Georgia's new election laws, the entire population of Georgia have been deemed racists and have lost the opportunity of hosting an All Star Baseball Game.
Feckless corporate executives, the lying power hungry fraudulent Stacey Abrams and those who want to divide America are the real "perps."
If they chose to actually read the law and the positive changes that addressed accusations the old law needed updating they would see the legislators served the public well but we live in a different age where radicals get away with lying, rioting and sedition because politicians, police and corporate America are easily intimidated and succumb to pressure and shakedowns.
America has become a pathetic nation, with a "wuss" for president and an executive corporate structure that is a disgrace. The phrase "Don't Tread On Me" has become an anachronism.
Why the "Deplorables and Neanderthals" are willing to tolerate this nonsense is beyond me. Why are you buying all those guns and ammunition to protect your homes and families when your nation has been stolen right out from under your noses?

The
sports league sides with Democrats on Georgia’s voting law.

If you still doubt that progressive politics dominates nearly every institution of American public life and culture, look no further than Friday’s decision by Major League Baseball to move its summer All-Star Game from Atlanta. President Biden said Wednesday he’d “strongly support” this idea, and the league dutifully obliged two days later.
The MLB excuse is that Georgia’s elected Legislature passed, and
Gov. Brian Kemp signed, an election reform law that leaves the state with more
opportunities to vote than Delaware and New York. Better not play any games in
Yankee Stadium. But Democrats have decided to portray the Georgia law as a
“voter suppression” bill, and “ Jim Crow 2.0,” as part of their political
strategy to pass their own radical voting reform in Washington that would
overturn 50 state election laws.
Note how America’s elites have quickly fallen in line. First the
media picked up the Democratic theme and distorted the truth about the law. As
CNN put it, the new law “introduces new impediments to voting, reducing the
number of drop boxes in heavily African-American areas.” But drop boxes were
allowed in Georgia only as a temporary measure during the pandemic. The new law
allows more drop boxes than Georgia had in 2019, which was zero.
Next came the fleet of CEOs intimidated by political threats. Now comes MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, who said in a statement that “Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.” He thus puts a high-minded but distorted patina on a decision to take a side in a partisan debate over the balance between the important values of ballot access and ballot integrity.
In the process the league has smeared Georgia’s elected majority as racist and anti-democratic. It has done economic harm to the state, though we suppose Mr. Manfred will have a new friend in the White House. Mr. Biden gives the order, and Mr. Manfred salutes. Welcome to the Democratic Baseball League.
Mr. Biden’s lobbying of MLB, and Mr. Manfred’s acquiescence, is every bit as politically divisive as Donald Trump’s stigmatizing of athletes for taking a knee during the national anthem. It furthers the destructive progressive desire to politicize everything. So much for healing and uniting the country.
