Daniel alerted me to indoor farming several years ago because of his relationship with Carnegie Mellon and today I read another article about this by Howie Kahn who seems to be on top of the subject (see attached article references.)
So happens I was having lunch with Jim Giddens, my favorite Minister friend yesterday, and we were discussing world population and I mentioned that the problem was not our ability to feed the world but it was more a matter of distribution. I spoke about the long term potential transformation taking place in indoor farming.
Yields, are greater, pollution is non-existent, there is no need for insect spraying, electricity costs are a bit higher but the need for equipment is sharply reduced and thus the cost of produce will be less. It is coming and could also replace lost income from shuttered malls as empty facilities are reconfigured.
Never discount man's ability through technology to overcome impediments.

Heard this at breakfast this morning. Eight of us try to have breakfast together often. One of the guys had a visitor and said he had heard (all attending today happened to be Republicans) that whoever it is sending these (fake?) bombs are smarter than the average. They have lifted finger prints and D&A from prominent Democrats and have carefully put them on each bomb. This is what is causing the big delay - has FBI totally confused. He explained how they get these finger prints and D&A and it said it is rather simple to get and then transfer. He didn't mention who or why."
