Backwards Or Forwards - Soon To Be Determined. No Party Appeals To Middle. Rabbi Saks Speaks To Parliament.

In two weeks we will know whether we are going backward or have the chance to move forward.

The matter of border security, continuing the economic improvement,  prodding N Korea in the right direction, keeping the pressure on Iran in the hope it will lead to an implosion, will trade issues with China get resolved and how do we continue working with Russia as our mutual agenda shrinks because our common interests are diminishing, are all part of  the issues Trump faces if Republicans retain The House.

Add to this list what we will do regarding The Saudis , how does Israel resolve the potential confrontation with Hezbollah and some other sticky issues like our mounting deficit and Trump should have a full plate.

However, if Republicans do not retain a narrowing control of The House then the agenda shifts radically and Trump will have to fend off impeachment and efforts to reverse whatever he has accomplished.

Because 2020 is around the corner very little is likely to get done anyway unless Republicans really drive Congress to accomplish something so they can point to it as the basis for their and Trump's re-election. Markets generally like gridlock but in the face of all the unresolved problems that need to be addressed and the growing length of the recovery as interest rates rise, gridlock may not be viewed as favorable.

Both parties have chosen to use their messaging to energize their base and have disregarded the middle leaving them to fend for themselves. Secondly, there are some 170 million plus who live south of the border and virtually all want to come and live in America. Even Democrats are unwilling to allow this number to enter illegally so just how many illegal immigrants are Democrats willing to allow entry? I suspect they would never go public with a number because it would kill them at the ballot box. More Democrat hypocrisy because they will continue to keep the issue unresolved for political reasons.(See 1 below.)

1) Billionaire’s Plan to Take Down Trump Gains Momentum

Outspoken billionaire Tom Steyer's impeachment "crusade" against President Trump isn't going away anytime soon. In fact, the White House's headaches will turn into full-blown migraines should Democrats retake even one chamber of Congress.

Per Law and Crime:

Billionaire hedge fund manager Tom Steyer, an outspoken adversary of President Donald Trump and the founder of the “Need to Impeach” campaign, is organizing a “special town hall” in an effort to take down the president and Republicans across the board as the November midterm elections approach at breakneck speed.

Steyer put out a press release on Friday to say that on Saturday, Oct. 20, he will be hosting a town hall in Newark, N.J., “a year to the day since launching the fast-growing campaign to remove Donald Trump from power.”

According to the press release, Steyer is going to be answering questions from audience members in the Kirby Gymnasium at Phillip’s Academy and from people who are watching it online.

...

When contacted by Fox News about this, Need to Impeach strategist Kevin Mack replied, “We’re not going away,” and, “We’re going to hold President Trump accountable.”

According to Steyer, Need to Impeach has six million supporters nationwide, an average of 14,000 per congressional district.

Despite the apparent GOP advantage in the Senate, Democrats only need to flip 23 congressional seats to regain the majority in the House of Representatives. Currently, RealClearPolitics ranks 14 Republican-held seats in the likely or lean Democrat categories. Meaning, Nancy Pelosi and her ilk only have to win 9 of the 31 Republican seats listed in their toss-up column.
