Black Supremacy
The
hate that dare not speak its name.
[Order David Horowitz's new book: The Enemy Within: How a
Totalitarian Movement is Destroying America.]
When
a white police officer in Ohio shot and killed Ma’Khia Bryant, stopping her
from plunging a butcher knife into the chest of an unarmed black teenager, the
racial melodrama that is destroying the very fabric of American society reached
what the “woke” refer to as an “inflection point.” At that moment, the
narrative of the national lynch mob – verdict first, due
process be damned – collided with an
impossible reality: a white cop saving the life of a black child. Unable to
resolve this dilemma, the woke mob simply refused to see it.
It
was left to Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse
Cullors to formulate their
denial bluntly:
The
verdict of George Floyd’s murder was a victory in accountability but not a
victory towards abolition [of the police]. While we watched Derek Chauvin be
convicted for murder, a Black child named Ma’Khia Bryant was murdered by
police, proving there is no justice.
Patrisse
Cullors is a racist whose sociopathic premise is: all cops are guilty and
all black criminals are innocent. This is also the premise and rationale of all the riots and
protests of the year just passed: White cops are racists, and blacks their
innocent targets, even if they happen to be armed criminals resisting arrest.
Through these ideological blinders, the Ohio event - a white cop rescuing an
unarmed black teen about to be murdered by a knife-wielding black teen – was
simply impossible. The fact that the knife-wielding black teen was shouting
“I’m going to stab the
fuck out of you, bitch” as she thrust a butcher knife towards her intended
victim’s chest was just
inconceivable. If white cops protected black victims from black criminals, the
goal of abolishing the police could not be justified.
It
is a truism that equality and justice require a single standard by which
everyone is judged. There can be no justice if black people are innocent
regardless of the facts, and whites are guilty despite them. This is a simple
truth that everyone recognizes - except when it comes to race. Universally
absent from such discussions, therefore, is a taboo subject: black racism. Yet, it is an incontrovertible fact that the
overwhelming majority of homicides against blacks are committed by blacks.
Moreover, the largest overtly racist organization in America today is black.
The Nation of
Islam is a racist religion, headed by America’s most virulent,
anti-Semitic, anti-white, anti-gay bigot, who is also black: Louis
Farrakhan. According to Wikipedia, the Nation of Islam has an
estimated 50,000 members; currently, according to the same source, the Ku Klux
Klan has 3,000.
In
the theology of Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, the white race was created
4,000 years ago by a mad scientist named Yakub. White people were created when
Yakub extracted the “brown germ” from the “black germ,” diluting black blood
and bringing into being a morally inferior strain of humanity — “white
blue-eyed devils,” - who became the scourge of humanity. “The whole Caucasian
race,” proclaimed Farrakhan’s predecessor and mentor, Elijah Muhammad, is an
“evil and murderous race”
of “devils.”
Like KKK grand dragons of old, but with the colors reversed, Farrakhan has
called the white man both the “anti-Christ”
and subhuman.
In
a sermon delivered in 2011, Farrakhan said: “There is no
human being on earth that has murdered more living things than the Caucasian.
He is a murderer and a liar.” “White folks … cannot be reformed [because] you
cannot reform a devil…. You have to kill the devil.” In a sermon delivered
in July 2015 Farrakhan said:
I’m
looking for 10,000 … fearless men who say death is sweeter than continued
life under [white] tyranny…. [I]f the federal government won’t intercede in our
affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us; stalk them and kill
them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling!
Despite
– or maybe because of – these views, Farrakhan is arguably one of the most
influential black voices in politics today. One of his disciples is Al
Sharpton, the MSNBC host, racial arsonist, and principal eulogist at
the black martyr George Floyd’s memorial. In a notable speech in 1994 at Kean
College, Sharpton boasted,
White
folks was in the cave while we [blacks] was building empires … We built
pyramids before Donald Trump ever knew what architecture was … we taught
philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos
ever got around to it.
In
the same speech, Sharpton claimed that
America’s founders consisted of “the worst criminals, the rejects they sent
from Europe … to the colonies.” “So [if] some cracker,” he continued, “come and
tell you ‘Well, my mother and father blood go back to the Mayflower,’ you
better hold you pocket. That ain’t nothing to be proud of. That means their
forefathers was crooks.”
Despite
these views, every Democrat presidential candidate in the 2020 primaries sought
Sharpton’s endorsement and vouched for him as a “civil rights leader.” They did
so in part because he was President Barack Obama’s “point man” on “civil
rights.” In August 2014, Politico.com published a feature story titled, “How Al
Sharpton Became Obama’s Go-To Man on Race.” The piece stated that
“Sharpton not only visits the White House frequently, he often texts or emails
with senior Obama officials such as [Valerie]
Jarrett and Attorney General Eric
Holder.” From January 2009 through December
2014, Sharpton visited the
Obama White House on 72 separate occasions, including five one-on-one meetings
with the president and 20 meetings with staff members or senior advisers.
In
1994, Malik
Zulu Shabazz, now the National President of Black Lawyers for
Justice, praised Farrakhan,
his mentor Elijah Muhamad, and “the Black revolution.” At a “Black African
Holocaust Nationhood Conference” which was held as a prelude to Farrakhan’s
Million Man March in October 1995, Shabazz stated that “America should be glad
that every black man is not on a killing spree for all the suffering they
[white Americans] have done.” He then introduced the conference’s keynote
speaker, Khalid Abdul Muhammad, infamous for saying “[t]here
is a little bit of Hitler in all white people,” and for advising blacks that
“[t]here are no good crackers, and if you find one, kill him before he
changes.” Shabazz described Muhammad as “a man who gives the white man
nightmares,” “a man who makes the Jews pee in they [sic] pants at night,” and a
man who was “like black Raid on white roaches.”
Fourteen-term
Congresswoman Sheila
Jackson Lee is on record saying, “All those who wore sheets a
long time ago have now lifted them off and started wearing, uh, clothing, uh,
with a name, say, I am part of the Tea Party.” In July 2005, Jackson Lee was
one of numerous Congressional Black Caucus members who met with
Farrakhan and took photographs with him. Jackson Lee also introduced a 2006
Farrakhan sermon at a Houston mosque, where she praised the
Nation of Islam for having “always been on the forefront of leadership without
apologies.”
One of Farrakhan’s more notorious leadership forefonts
has been his hate America foreign policy. In November 2018, he traveled to
Iran to chant “Death to America” and “Death to Israel. In 2013 Congressman Andre
Carson joined New York Rep. Gregory
Meeks and then-Minnesota Rep. (and later DNC chairman) Keith
Ellison to attend a dinner hosted by Iranian President Hassan
Rouhani, where Farrakhan was also on hand.
In
2011, current House Majority Whip James T.
Clyburn, the kingmaker who clinched Joe Biden’s nomination for
president, shared a stage with Farrakhan who discussed the notorious
anti-Semitic screed of the Nation of Islam called The Secret Relationship
Between Blacks and Jews.
The book claims that
there is “irrefutable evidence” that Jews “kidnapped Black Africans
disproportionately more than any other ethnic or religious group in New World
History.” After Farrakhan spoke about the need for blacks to pool their
resources and work together, Clyburn said:
“I want to thank Minister Farrakhan for offering up a number of precepts that
we ought to adhere to.” When Jewish organizations criticized Clyburn
for having appeared at the event, the congressman said he was
“not bothered in the least bit” by the criticisms.
In
a February 2018 interview, Congressman Danny
Davis, who had obtained the permit for
Farrakhan’s Million Man March, attended by hundreds of thousands of blacks,
heralded Farrakhan as “an outstanding human
being who commands a following of individuals who are learned and articulate,
and [who] plays a big role in the lives of thousands and thousands and
thousands and thousands of people.”
In
2018, Congresswoman and “Squad” member Ayanna
Pressley held a campaign event with
Nation of Islam members outside the Muhammad Mosque No. 11 in Boston. Two years
later, she went to the House floor and said:
“Centuries of institutionalized oppression will not be undone overnight, for
racism in America is as structural as the marble pillars of this very
institution.”
In
2013, current Georgia Senator Raphael
Warnock, who at the time was the senior pastor of the
Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, declared: “It was
the Black Muslims who challenged Black preachers and said, ‘you’re
promulgating … the White man’s religion. And that’s a slave religion…. We’ve
needed the witness of the Nation of Islam … to put a fire under us and keep us
honest.” In an October 2016 speech,
Warnock said: “America needs to repent for its worship of whiteness.” In June
2017 he said:
“Racism is America’s preexisting condition.”
Warnock’s
religious “mentor”
was the late James
Cone, the Black
Liberation Theology founder who argued that “the goal of black
theology is the destruction of everything white.”
In
2002, 15-term Congresswoman Maxine
Waters attended a Nation of Islam convention at
which Louis Farrakhan stated that
because the United States was supplying Israel with military equipment and
weaponry, Palestinians had no choice but to engage in suicide bombings. At one
point during the proceedings, Farrakhan told the audience: “We have Maxine
Waters here, our great congresswoman from this area.”
In
early 2006, Waters and at least three fellow members of the Congressional Black
Caucus — Barbara
Lee, Al Green, and
William Jefferson — met with Farrakhan to discuss how the U.S.
government should respond to the devastation that Hurricane Katrina had
inflicted on the Gulf Coast a few months earlier. Farrakhan praised Waters
and the other CBC members for the statements they had made on that crisis at a
recent House Financial Services Subcommittee meeting and asked them to “tell me
how I can be of service.”
During
a Martin Luther King Day event at Al Sharpton‘s National
Action Network in January 2019, House Democratic Caucus
chairman Hakeem
Jeffries likened President Trump to a Ku Klux Klan
leader, calling him
“a hater in the White House” and “the grand wizard of 1600 Pennsylvania
Avenue.”
In
a June 2020 interview,
former Black Panther leader and current congressman Bobby
Rush told Politico that, “The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police is the
most rabid, racist body of criminal lawlessness by police in the land. It
stands shoulder to shoulder with the Ku Klux Klan then, and the Ku Klux Klan
now.” When the Daily Caller contacted Rush
and a number of his fellow Congressional Black Caucus members to ask if they
would be willing to publicly denounce Louis Farrakhan, Rush and 19 others
declined not only to denounce him, but also to issue any comment at all
regarding his infamous anti-Semitic, anti-white ravings.
Tamika
Mallory, a leader of Black Lives Matter and the Women’s March, claims that
“white Jews, as white people, uphold white supremacy.” In May 2017, Mallory
posted a photograph of herself with Farrakhan on Instagram, describing him
as “the GOAT,” an acronym for “the Greatest Of All Time.”
Reverend Jeremiah
Wright was Barack Obama’s political advisor, spiritual mentor
and personal confidant for twenty years. In a sermon at Howard University,
Wright said:
“Racism is still alive and well. Racism is how this country was founded, and
how this country is still run.” Condemning “the
milky white way of life,” Wright has attributed black-on-black crime to a
racist white culture that gets “white racist DNA running through the synapses of
[black people’s] brain tissue.”
An
unapologetic admirer of Farrakhan, Wright regards him as “one of the most important voices
in the 20th and 21st century.” Wright accompanied Farrakhan
on a 1984 trip to meet with Farrakhan’s friend, the Libyan
dictator Muammar Qadhafi. He helped organize Farrakhan’s
Million Man March and later described it as “a once in a lifetime,
amazing experience.” When
a number of prominent African Americans counseled fellow blacks to boycott the
demonstration because of Farrakhan’s history of hateful rhetoric, Wright derided those
critics as “‘Negro’ leaders,” “colored’ leaders,” “Oreos,” “house
niggras,” and “darkies” who were guilty of “Uncle Tomism.”
In
2007, Wright said:
“Minister Farrakhan will be remembered as one of the 20th and 21st century
giants of the African American religious experience. His integrity and honesty
have secured him a place in history as one of the nation’s most powerful
critics.” On October 10, 2015 — the 20th anniversary of
Farrakhan’s Million Man March — Wright spoke at
a Nation of Islam event in Washington titled “Justice or Else!” — the precise rationale for the Black Lives
Matter riots: “No Justice, no peace.”
Harvard
University professor Cornel
West has branded the U.S. a “racist patriarchal” nation where
“white supremacy” continues to define everyday life. “White America,” he
writes, “has been historically weak-willed in ensuring racial justice and has
continued to resist fully accepting the humanity of blacks.” West is a
close personal friend of Farrakhan’s, whom he refers to as “my dear brother.” West
served as an advisor and organizer for
Farrakhan’s Million Man March and passionately defends him, lamenting that
Farrakhan has been “demonized by
the mainstream.”
The
late Derrick
Bell was the founder of Critical
Race Theory, which the Biden White House is currently foisting on
America’s school children. Bell was an acolyte of Farrakhan, describing him as
“smart and super articulate,” and calling him, “perhaps the best living example
of a black man ready, willing and able to ‘tell it like it is’ regarding who is
responsible for racism in this country.” Among Farrakhan’s
telling-it-like-it-is statements, is this:
“I wonder, will you recognize Satan. I wonder if you will see the satanic Jew
and the Synagogue of Satan...because Satan has deceived the whole world.” In a
1992 interview, Bell summed up his feelings: “I see Louis Farrakhan as a great hero for
the people.”
It
is safe to say that no white supremacist in America today wields a modicum of
the influence that Louis Farrakhan and his noxious racism exert on the Democrat
Party, Black Lives Matter, and black America generally. No white supremacist
organization could mobilize a Million Man March as a manifestation of its
strength, or call on such an array of congressional leaders for moral and
political support. No Republican members of Congress hold such rabidly racist
views as Al Sharpton, Maxine Waters, Ayana Pressley, Hakeem Jeffries, James
Clyburn and other prominent Democrats too numerous to mention in a relatively
short article. Yet a wall of silence hides this disturbing reality from view.
Consequently,
there is no discussion of the influence of black supremacists and black racists
on the violent actions of Black Lives Matter, criminal interactions with the
police, or the obvious anti-white racism of the Democrat Party and the Critical
Race Theory doctrines it is promoting in America’s schools. According to
Justice Department statistics, there are over half a million violent
interracial crimes involving blacks and whites in the course of a year.
According to those same statistics, 90
percent of those crimes are committed by blacks against whites.
Common sense should tell us that as long as black racism cannot be discussed,
Americans cannot possibly advance the cause of racial justice, racial equality
or racial peace.

Ross Rants:
We have never been in this economic and financial market situation before. We have massive pent up demand by consumers who have rarely been is such good financial shape. Savings are at a historic high. Banks are very strong and flush with deposits. There are numerous non-bank lenders. Available credit is at a high level. There is historically massive liquidity in the economy and the markets. The US economy is in better shape than the rest of the world, so it will continue to attract capital. Interest rates are still near historic lows, and real rates are still at zero. The housing market is booming and will continue to do so for a while. Inflation for the moment is very low. The Fed and other central banks are providing unprecedented support. Congress is providing unprecedented fiscal support. If the teachers unions would stop striking and reopen schools, unemployment would be under 5%. If blue states would fully reopen we would probably be around 4% unemployment. Job openings are at a historic high. The vaccine is proving to work, and we will have essential herd immunity in another month or so. Foreign travel is not going to happen this year, so leisure travel in the US this year will be strong by July, with inbound foreign tourism the only constraint. That will mean hospitality unemployment will drop to low levels, and that will resolve a lot of the high unemployment stats.
Here is a key thing none of us fully realized. Because the after tax cost of commuting and other work related costs have been materially reduced to near zero for so many people, millions of consumers paid off their credit cards and other bills with the savings which was materially increased by all of the subsidy money. The result is, companies that deal with consumers using credit cards charge the card automatically for monthly billing, or other payment plans, and so are now cash flush as extended credit is being materially reduced by prepayments, and automatic charging. Likewise companies now have a very low, or nil cost of capital due to all the cash they have been collecting. Many companies now use a fully automated system for billing, collection, and payment, where the customer agrees to auto charging of their bank account on the fifth of the month through ACH. This materially reduces bad debts and collection costs. Companies also have been able to materially reduce costs while they have had time this past year to examine what costs can be cut, and what staffing can be replaced by technology. Programs like Salesforce track projects and jobs so billing is more timely. Result, they are billing automatically, paying off their payables early, and using online and automated payment systems like ACH to pay bills and collet receivables, so that many companies now have eliminated much of their billing, payables and receivables staffs who had to process paper, prepare invoices, and write checks, or book receipts, (that saves around $40,000 to $50,000 per staff person eliminated), and many companies now have much larger cash balances in the bank than forecast due to getting paid fully sooner. This bodes well for capex going forward, especially for installing tech related programs that will further improve productivity and cut costs. The technological innovations of the past 2-3 years, accelerated by Covid, has materially changed cash flows and cut staffing costs.
Based on the numbers that are starting to be released, the earnings season is going to be better than predicted, maybe by a lot, and it is just the start of the recovery of the economy. I expect by the time the Q2 numbers are released in July we will be booming at a growth level never before seen. Some analysts predict GDP to be growing at 9%-10% by Q3. There is so much pent up demand and cash savings going to be released to spending, that Q2+Q3 will set records. Here are some numbers. The Fed continues to buy bonds at $120 billion a month for an increase of $1.2 trillion YOY, money supply is up 27% YOY, one top analytical firm forecasts S&P earnings to hit $220 annualized per share by end of 2021, and that might be lower than it ends up. If that becomes reality, then the market may not be over-valued. Consumer net worth , partly due to housing prices, is up 24%. This creates a wealth effect which induces spending and investing. Mortgage rates are back to 3.0% as of this week. Until 2010 they were always above 6%. Bank deposits are up 15% to $17 trillion, which is up $2.2 trillion YOY. New jobs added in April is likely to exceed 1 million. Add to all of this, the $5 trillion of fiscal wasteful spending, and you see that there is now a unprecedented massive liquidity which will come out of savings and into buying things, and investing. Therefore, the stock market is going up this year. Maybe a lot more. At some point this all ends badly.
On the flip side. Inflation is real, and here to stay. Supply chains are already unable to keep up, and labor shortages are all across the board. Labor shortages equal higher wage costs. Available jobs now exceed pre-pandemic levels. Result -inflation ahead. Taxes may go up on corporations, and in not just income, but other areas such that profits will be squeezed if increases become law. If cap gains taxes really do go up, look out. If they do continue to regulate fracking and oil, costs go up a lot more. As inflation becomes more real, rates rise. That is a negative for stocks. Regulations will massively increase, which is a major cost increase. Interest rates will rise soon as the economy picks up and as inflation becomes real very soon. By year end the 10 year will likely be around or above 2.5%, and could hit 3%. That is higher than the 2.0% I earlier had predicted. Bad for stocks. Biden foreign policy so far is grossly incompetent, and is going to lead to bad things happening down the road. More on this later. Crime will continue to spiral as blue state and city AG’s do not prosecute, and as cops retire. No bail in some cities is letting criminals out and they just assume they can do anything because the cops won’t show and prosecutors let them go. The new policy to investigate police departments by DOJ is just going to do what it did before, make cops even more reluctant to make arrests. It is the worst and stupidest thing they could have done right now. Quality of life is already deteriorating. Do you really want to drive around Chicago or DC in the evening. All of these things are potential black swans that can screw up the economic growth that is possible. The black swans are waiting to poop on the parade.
Venture capital is now funding at an accelerated speed, and at valuations that in many cases make no sense. In Q1 there was $69 billion of new deals. The Canadian Fed has already begun to taper. The US Fed is going to be too late when they do.
Covid shots now are available everywhere. Here in my area in FL they are closing some shot centers because there is low demand. They can’t even give away shots. This is not good as it seems to suggest a lot of people possibly think they no longer need to worry or they got spooked by the shutdown of J&J shots. I still believe that by mid-May we will see a dramatic decline in cases and hospitalizations, and a shedding of masks in many places. The US has made the rest of the world other than Israel and the UK look foolish, and almost none of that is due to anything Biden did. It was all due to ramping up of production by the private sector. A few months they were able to ramp up to produce hundreds of millions of shots. Extraordinary.
Biden will take credit for the economic turn around and boom, but he has almost nothing to do with the growth, and something to do with the additional growth we could have had were it not for his tax and spend policies which will make some investors concerned as to what is coming next out of DC. Likewise Q3 should be terrific unless they really do pass all the tax and spend legislation, or unless China decides to push the envelope and attack Taiwan.
Now we saw Putin test Biden on Ukraine, and Biden said little, and did nothing. The bad guys noticed. He is about to give away peace in the Mideast in a deal with Iran. Stupid and very dangerous does not begin to describe this. He is not being tough enough with China. He needs to publicly commit to protect Taiwan. He insulted a key ally-Turkey -by publicly declaring the massacre of Armenians in 1918 to be genocide. It was, but why say it now. All the whoopla about the climate summit was just PR nonsense. China said go screw, we are doing what we want. India said not much better. And Brazil said give us a billion of US taxpayer money and we will stop burning down the rain forest. Biden’s claim to reduce carbon by 50% by 2030 is fantasy, unless we permanently shut the US economy. It is all never -never land and ludicrous. Kim is watching, and waiting for Xi to let him stir the pot. S Korea is not being helpful by now attacking Trump. Biden has been wrong on every foreign policy thought for over forty years and now he is dangerous.
John Kerry needs to be fired and probably should be charged the way Flynn was, except Kerry is actually guilty, where Flynn did nothing wrong. Kudlow is right, Kerry is the dumbest person in DC. For Kerry to claim he was doing nothing different than Kissinger is ludicrous. One key thing that came out in the Zarif interview was taking out Soleimani was a major blow to Iran. Biden criticized that killing. Biden is dangerously wrong about Iran.
The former chief scientist for Obama’s energy department, who was also the former provost of Cal Tech, and was chief scientist at British Petroleum (as smart and credible as anyone), and now retired, so he has no agenda but truth, says models of climate (there are 40 models) are not credible, and they vary by 3 degrees C as to what current surface temperature is. The exaggerated statements by Biden and others is “absurd and demonstrably false” . He says the UN Panel on Climate Change says many of the major claims being made should be treated with “low confidence”. The climate models are all over the lot because the data is not reliable. He says the modelers agree, but shut up about it. He makes the point that climate models try to capture data that is hard to detail and hard to fix in an ever changing weather system, vs engineering models or financial models that deal with some clearly very limited, clearly defined set parameters. Anyone who has ever built a financial model trying to predict the next 5 years, and the value at monetization of an investment, knows even these very limited models are never totally accurate, and are only a guide based on assumptions. So why would anyone think a model of the world weather would be even remotely accurate beyond predicting the local weather a few days out. It is ludicrous on its face. He says young modelers have lost sight of reality vs simulations. He says there is no crisis to get rid of fossil fuels. He considers most of the rhetoric and models you now hear to be “propaganda” to push massive spending programs. He does not deny the earth is warming, (1 degree since 1900 and maybe 1 degree more this century) , but he does not see the urgent crisis Biden and others claim. He says if China and India would cooperate somewhat, we could solve the problem at far lower cost to the economy. He claims humans will adapt, and that cutting CO2 is a very long term process, decades, and not something that will change quickly no matter what we do. Even Kerry admitted that whatever the US does will not really make a difference. Biden says follow the science, but that is definitely not the case when it comes to global warming. All the corporations rushing to jump on the bandwagon is the same as they are doing on the GA vote issue. It is good PR. There are real global warming issues, but we do not have to turn the economy upside down to deal with it according to this top world class scientist. His push is to get people to have an honest analysis of the climate and an honest discussion based on facts, not wild rhetoric. His name is Steve Koonin, and he has a book coming soon See his op ed in WSJ last week.
Now VA is leading the way to “equity in education” Translation-dumb it down so black kids can get decent grades. The US is 37 among developed nations as to math in high school. So let’s dumb it down even more in the name of “equity”.
I know you are all at your wits end with the insanity and hypocrisy of BLM, racial politics run wild, indoctrination in schools, and all the crime and censorship. But we cannot pull back, and we cannot stop saying no to all of this. Parents are now fighting back as their kids are being told they and the parents are racists, and as advanced placement classes are canceled, as they have been in VA so that black kids don’t look bad. So they make everybody to the lowest common denominator. Many are fighting back against the Sonnenfeld led corporate campaign against GA voting, and the general shift to hire and promote by skin color, and not merit. We can’t concede. We need to speak up more and louder, and put an end to this decline of the American way of life. 2022 election is too far off. We all need to speak up now and not be afraid of being ostracized by fools. I was told by a professor who is a member of our tennis club in East Hampton that I could not be part of my old tennis group at the club that he was organizing this year because I am not allowed say anything political, or I can’t be on his group list. I essentially told him to F off, and I have now set up my own set of games for the season. That is what all of you need to be ready to do. If anyone tries to shut me down I just delete them from my life and move on. Here in Longboat our group has a range of political opinion, but we are all grownups, and we respect and joke about our different opinions, then order another glass of wine.
That so called 16 year old “child” in Columbus was in fact a nearly 200 pound potential murderer. She was about to kill the girl she pinned against the car. Statements from idiots like Joy Behar that he should have shot her in the leg, or fired in the air just points out what uninformed idiots they are. I helped cops arrest perps resisting and fighting the cop on three occasions. Things happen is a split second. The perp is very violent, and in one case was trying to stab the cop in the eye with a pen until I grabbed his wrist. The adrenalin is pumping, and you have to just react to get control of the guy to avoid possibly getting killed yourself. Sometimes, as in one situation I was in, you have a crowd making threats while you are trying to subdue the guy. The cop in Columbus saved a life, and should be seen as a hero. Where is the outrage of Biden and Harris when the 7 year old girl was shot in Chicago. Crickets. Where is the outrage from them as large numbers of black young men are shot every weekend by other blacks. Where is the press doing stories on the mayhem in black communities where little kids have been killed. If a cop prevents a murder he is a criminal, but a criminal shoots a little girl and no outrage. This is what Obama started after Ferguson, and what he pushed for those years. He is the one responsible for the racial animus and cop hatred we are seeing.
Critiques of Israel
are critical race theory tourism
Distorted coverage of violence in Jerusalem is nothing new, but
viewing the conflict through the prism of toxic myths about white supremacy
also makes peace impossible.
(April 27, 2021 / JNS) If all you know of the violence that
happened in Jerusalem in the last couple of weeks comes from the mainstream
media, you know who to blame and why. The narrative heard on CNN or
published in The
New York Times is a familiar one about Israel once again
abusing the Palestinians.
According to those
sources, the recent unrest was caused by the setting up of a fence near the
Damascus Gate entrance to the Old City that offended Arabs during Ramadan,
topped off by a march by racist Jews chanting “Death to the Arabs.” The
narrative also traces these awful actions to the good showing of some
right-wing political parties during the most recent Israeli election that
supposedly encouraged Jews to abuse Jerusalem’s Arab population.
If Palestinians also
threw rocks, attacked Jews and engaged in rioting, that version of the story
not only buried those facts; Arab violence was also generally treated as a
justified response to Israeli awfulness. Indeed, left-wing Israeli sources
looked back to history for the answer as to who started it. An editorial in Haaretz said
the real problem was Israel’s unification of the city in 1967, which allowed
Jews access to their holy sites for the first time since 1948, and which also
tore down the ugly walls and no man’s land free-fire zones that divided
Jerusalem during the illegal Jordanian occupation.
The truth about this
episode has less to do with the deplorable behavior of radical right-wing Jews
or the “original sin” of Zionism that brought the Jews back to their ancient
homeland than with the deplorable state of Palestinian political culture.
You’d have to go to
less biased sources to learn about how the violence largely began with a
social-media challenge in which young Palestinians began to compete with each
other in posting videos of them beating up Orthodox Jews with the “Attack a
Jew” hashtag on TikTok. That prompted outrage inside Israel and led to the
demonstration by an extremist Israeli group, as well as individual acts of
violence by Jews that have been widely condemned by almost all Israelis, as
well as generating a stern response from the police.
The fact that Hamas
chimed in by firing dozens of rockets at Israel was also largely ignored in the
international media or only referred to, as in this classic case of a slanted
headline published by NBCnews.com,
by mentioning Israeli retaliatory strikes first.
Still, there’s more at
stake here than just the usual anti-Israel media bias that has buried the lede
about a “TikTok
intifada.” That the Palestinian Authority has encouraged the
upsurge of violent rhetoric against Jews with its routine incitement against
Israel via its official media and in its education system has been swept down
the Orwellian memory hole. Similarly downplayed is how the violence is the
direct result of Palestinian political maneuvering with both Fatah and Hamas
seeking to deflect attention from their own shortcomings or the likelihood that
elections will once again be canceled in the West Bank.
Nor is it just a
matter of the latest instance of an anti-Zionist group like Human Rights
Watch issuing a
report falsely claiming that Israel practices “apartheid”
against the Palestinians while ignoring the Palestinian terrorism that is the
reason why Israel must take measures of self-defense that are routinely
mischaracterized and libeled by Palestinian propaganda outlets and their
leftist NGO allies.
Look beneath the
surface of all these instances of biased reporting or anti-Zionist narratives
and you’ll see an attitude that is eerily familiar to anyone who has been
following the discussion about racism in the United States. While some of the
jargon is different, at the heart of it are allegations about “privilege” and
“supremacy” in which the Palestinians are depicted as victims of “systematic”
Jewish racism. It turns out that the same toxic themes rooted in critical race
theory and intersectionality are being applied to Israel as well as to the United
States.
That fits in with a
leftist ideology that falsely links the Palestinians’ century-old war on
Zionism with the struggle for civil rights in the United States. In this
formulation, Israel and the Jews are described as benefiting from white privilege,
even though most Israeli Jews are—in the terminology of critical race
theory—“people of color” because their origins are in the Middle East rather
than Europe. And Zionism is treated as just another variety of white supremacy
invented to subjugate “indigenous” people despite the fact that Jews are
indigenous to the land of Israel.
Those who brand
America as an irredeemably racist nation point to the troubled history of
slavery and “Jim Crow” while ignoring the fact that the broad arc of U.S.
history has been one of continual progress towards great freedom and equality
for all people. But when applied to the Middle East conflict, that tortured
effort to anchor everything in discussions of race is even more misleading.
The struggle between
the Jewish people seeking self-determination in their ancient homeland and Arab
neighbors who have refused to share the land and sought to keep Jews in their
traditional roles of dhimmi—a powerless and
persecuted minority—in the Middle East is complex and full of tragic incidents.
But just as focusing obsessively on race as the answer to every American
dilemma does nothing to advance justice or improve the lives of minorities,
applying these race theories to the conflict between Jews and Arabs cannot help
the cause of peace.
Applying the language
of critical race theory to Israel makes little sense to those who understand
the origins of this conflict or the way the Palestinians have rejected every
effort at compromise in pursuit of their goal of eliminating Israel. It also
means trashing the rights of the Jewish people so as to empower Palestinians
who won’t recognize the legitimacy of a Jewish state no matter where its
borders are drawn.
Those who latch onto
this ideology are seeking a simplistic way of explaining everything while at
the same time attempting to delegitimize their opponents. The media bias
employed against Israel, in addition to the libels promoted by groups like
Human Rights Watch, enables those looking to apply these theories to the Jewish
state to feel as if the anti-Semitic invective directed at Israel and its
supporters is liberal advocacy rather than hate speech.
In one sense,
shoehorning Israel and the Palestinians into their bogus theories is a form of
virtual intersectional tourism, allowing those who know little about the Middle
East to pontificate on it as if they were experts. That might almost be
comical, though it also gives a permission slip to those who are unalterably
opposed to peace.
By falsely labeling
Jewish self-determination as racism and Israeli self-defense as white privilege
and supremacy, those who play this absurd game reinforce Palestinian
intransigence. These woke virtual tourists to the conflict give aid and comfort
to the already powerful forces within Palestinian society that cling to the
delusion that one day, the descendants of the 1948 refugees will dispossess the
Jews of Israel and that the world will hand them Israel on a silver platter. In
this way, they are helping to condemn yet another generation of Palestinians to
the moral and economic squalor imposed upon them by their violent and corrupt
leaders in the Fatah and Hamas movements.
As long as American
left-wingers and some of their liberal fellow travelers, including Jews who
support anti-Zionist groups like Jewish Voices for Peace and IfNotNow, look at
the Mideast through the prism of the critical race theory that the Black Lives
Matter movement has popularized, they will be contributing to the perpetuation
of a conflict that has already gone on for too long. But it will be Israelis
and Palestinians who will pay the price for their mistake.
