What's Wrong With Politics -My Take.

This memo will be brief and limited to one topic -What is wrong with the political system and most particularly Democrats.

Money has ruined politics like it does most everything else it touches. It is not money actually, just like guns do not kill, cars do not kill, etc. It is the use man makes of these items that is the basis of  destruction.

Democrats, and to a lesser degree,  Republicans make the basic mistake of identity politics and pandering to groups when their focus should be on the greater "We," the nation as a whole.

One simple example demonstrates the mess Biden and Democrats have gotten themselves into as well as the nation.

Biden said he would follow the science but also must kiss the behinds of unions who provide Democrats tons of money and support, though most of their "deplorable" members now vote for Republicans.

Science suggests schools should be open because they are basically safe but unions have no vested interest in teaching. They are far more concerned with funding and having their way so public education remains mostly unavailable and the pandemic provides the excuse.

There is no reason Biden should be stressed in making education a priority but his loyalty is greater to unions than to the nation's children.

Democrats have too many loyalties to individual groups, which they helped create and pander to and few to the nation, again "we the people."

You can hate Trump because he was not presidential in his manner and language but you cannot deny he came into office owing very little to anyone.  He did not get money from unions, from lobbyists, from Wall Street, from California Technology Billionaires, etc.  He self funded his campaign, by and large with tremendous assistance from sworn enemies in. the mass media..

Prior to becoming president he spent very little time in D.C. and knew very few of the establishment types. Thus for the first year or so he made a lot of personnel choices that did not work out as he would have liked. It was a lot of trial and error but eventually he got it right and put together a fairly cohesive and productive administration.  His Secretaries of Health, Education, Energy, State and Treasury were excellent. His choice of his initial U.N Ambassador was superb and he had a fine group of economic policymakers and some devoted and talented senior advisors in the area of trade.

He never quite got military appointments the way he wanted and his selection of the Sec. of Transportation was a Valentine to Sen. Mc Connell.

What he did get right, and the results spoke for themselves, is his focus was on Making America - yes America, Great Again. His policies resulted in jobs, higher wages and you know the rest.

We now have a president shackled by obligatory Democrat patronage and "We The People" are suffering because he owes Greens,  blacks,  radicals,  everyone who is specifically identified as a group of this fractured nation. Consequently, as long as he and Democrats remain in control,  America will remain fractured, divided, at each other's throats. Everyone is out for themselves. There is little Democrats offer "we the people" that is unifying except  hatred and fear of Trump, whom they banished.

Perhaps I have oversimplified a complex issue but that is how I see it and why I believe everything will remain disunited.

I always invite comments.
