The Biden Administration's Syria Policy: A Forecast For War
by Joel D. Rayburn via The Caravan

We ignore Syria at our peril. After almost eleven years, the Syrian conflict is as acutely dangerous an international security problem as ever. What began in 2011 as a popular revolt against Bashar al-Assad’s rule quickly expanded into a regional conflict that has no end in sight. With five external military forces jostling with each other in or over Syria (Russia, Iran, Turkey, the United States, and Israel), the potential for intrastate conflict in any given week is high.

Why Should Putin Invade, When Ukraine Can Be Destroyed From Within - With Help From Its 'Friends'?
by Paul R. Gregory via The Hill

Vladimir Putin does not hide his intent to destroy an independent Ukraine and to return it to the fold of “Mother Russia.” With a weakened NATO, a Germany in political flux, and a seeming push-over Joe Biden as U.S. President, Putin has a wide arsenal at his beck and call. He can invade Ukraine with overwhelming force to partition yet another swath of Ukraine territory (creating a land bridge from Donbas to Crimea).

The Eastern Mediterranean And Biden's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Geostrategic Gambit
by Michael Doran via The Caravan

What role does the Eastern Mediterranean play in America’s global strategy? “Strategy? What strategy?” is the answer that most readily rolls off the tongue. In the aftermath of the Afghanistan withdrawal, America’s Mediterranean allies are hard pressed to identify consistent principles guiding Washington’s hand. They wonder whether the decision to abandon the fight against the Taliban portends an even more tumultuous retreat from the entire Middle East. Feeling exposed and vulnerable, they see chaos on the rise and no serious remedy for it.

The Show Me State reverses and shows others!

Why can't Florida follow this example by Missouri ?

Missouri has no illegals; go figure... shouldn't the other states do the same? Missouri's approach to the problem of illegal immigration appears to be more advanced, sophisticated, strict and effective than anything to date in Arizona . Does the White House appreciate what Missouri has done? So, why doesn't Missouri receive attention? Answer: There are no illegals in Missouri to demonstrate. (And the Media doesn't want to publicize that fact!)

The "Show Me" state has again shown us how it should be done. There needs to be more publicity and exposure regarding what Missouri has done. Please pass this around.

In 2007, Missouri placed on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the official language of Missouri In November, 2008, nearly 90% voted in favor! Thus, English became the official language for ALL governmental activity in Missouri . No individual has the right to demand government services in a language OTHER than English.

In 2008, a measure was passed that required the Missouri Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be in Missouri illegally. Missouri law enforcement officers receive specific training with respect to enforcement of federal immigration laws.

In Missouri, illegal immigrants do NOT have access to taxpayer benefits such as food stamps or health care through Missouri Health NET.

In 2009, a measure was passed that ensures Missouri 's public institutions of higher education do NOT award financial aid to individuals who are illegally in the United States .

In Missouri all post-secondary institutions of higher education are required to annually certify to the Missouri Dept. of Higher Education that they have NOT knowingly awarded financial aid to students who are unlawfully present in the United States .

It is important to remember, Missouri has been far more proactive in addressing this horrific problem. Missouri has made it clear that illegal immigrants are NOT WELCOME in the state and they will NOT receive public benefits at the expense of Missouri taxpayers.

This is a link to one of my favorite regional artists. We own several of his early works and have visited with him in Folsom, La.  He passed away last year.  Rolland was one of the most accomplished and dearest artists I have come to know along the way. We have a watercolor of his wife, Stella, who he portrayed as a harsh fisherwoman when in fact she is a soft, dear and lovely woman.

I had just posted a comment about a "flub" recently made by our Secretary of State and now another one.

These are little things that get magnified and reflect the unprofessionalism of this Administration and Biden's appointees.  They are players on the world's stage wearing short pants.

Russia Mocks Pentagon Head For Calling Russia “Soviet Union”

(FiveNation.com)- The Russian media was pretty gleeful in its mocking of United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently, after he referred to the country as the “Soviet Union” during a press conference on Thursday.

Austin, a Biden loyalist and already one of the least popular defense secretaries in American history, told the press that he hopes the “Soviet Union” would not invade Ukraine any time soon, prompting Russian news outlets to very quickly begin mocking him.

Russia Today, a state-sponsored news outlet that operates in the United States and Europe, wrote in an article on the same day that the “hammer and sickle could soon be flying back over Ukraine” according to Austin, even though the Soviet Union collapsed roughly three decades ago.

Austin made the comments during a trip to South Korea, where he responded to a journalist’s question about the hundreds of thousands of Russian troops stationed in Russia and close to the border of Ukraine.

Austin said that the best case would be that “we won’t see an incursion by the Soviet Union into Ukraine.”

Oops.

This is like that time Biden repeatedly referred to former British Prime Minister Theresa May as…Margaret Thatcher.

Official video released by the Pentagon shows that Austin didn’t seem to recognize his mistake and did not correct it.

On December 2, RT’s article was published with the title, “‘Soviet Union’ could invade Ukraine, Pentagon chief claims.”

The United States has very quickly become the laughing stock of the world, and Biden hasn’t been on the job even a year.

And, just in case Secretary Lloyd is reading this, we should point out that the USSR disbanded in 1991. It’s been a little while…
