Is Biden saying to Israel: "Read My Lips?"

Biden Speaks, but Will He Act?
Iran’s proxies are shooting at Americans without a U.S. response.
By The Editorial Board

President Biden on Thursday night finally told Americans the truth about a new world of threats, which he called “an inflection point.” It’s also a decisive moment for the Commander in Chief: Will Mr. Biden respond if Iran keeps attacking U.S. forces abroad? And will he build support in Congress to restore U.S. military power?

Wars in Israel and Ukraine “can seem far away,” the President said in a rare Oval Office address. “And it’s natural to ask: Why does this matter to America?” But “history has taught us that when terrorists don’t pay a price for their terror, when dictators don’t pay a price for their aggression, they cause more chaos and death and more destruction,” and the threats to America increase. Vladimir Putin, Mr. Biden noted, views the Baltic countries in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as rogue Russian provinces. He won’t stop at Ukraine.

Give Mr. Biden credit for making this case directly to the American public. He ducked talking about Ukraine for 20 months, reserving his few remarks for foreign capitals or international meetings. That became untenable after the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Thursday’s address included the usual bromides about democracy, but the current moment is about building hard power and the will to use it.

Mr. Biden was straightforward that prevailing in both Israel and Ukraine is “vital for America’s national security.” He correctly noted that Iran is supporting Hamas and Russia’s invasion, though he could have told Americans more about Russia and Iran’s deepening relationship.

Iranian military personnel have trained Russians in Crimea on drones. The Russians appear to be furnishing training jets for the Iranian military. The two are working in tandem to push U.S. forces out of Syria. This axis of animosity is a coordinated effort to crush U.S. allies and establish themselves as dominant regional powers.

Mr. Biden included a line about holding Iran “accountable,” but the President hasn’t so far. He didn’t mention attacks this week on U.S. forces in the Middle East. Iran’s proxies will continue to take shots as long as the American response is timid, and the risk of dead Americans is real.

The core problem is the decline of American deterrence. The President has sent two carrier strike groups and fighter aircraft to the region. But Tehran is still testing whether Mr. Biden is willing to use them. One issue is Mr. Biden’s frail delivery, which may figure into the calculation of adversaries. But a country manages a crisis with the President it has, for better or worse.

A failure to respond to Iran’s provocations would broadcast that America lacks the will to defend itself. Mr. Biden failed to deter Mr. Putin from invading Ukraine after the Afghanistan fiasco, and a defeat in the Middle East would echo with China in the Pacific.

The larger project is rebuilding the U.S. as the arsenal of deterrence, and Mr. Biden’s more than $100 billion funding request is a start. The package includes about $14 billion for Israel, including help for air defenses as Israel burns through Iron Dome interceptors.

The Administration wants $61 billion for Ukraine, and isolationist voices in both parties will resist. But much of the request is marked for the U.S. defense industrial base—that is, increasing U.S. military capacity. The funding includes replenishing U.S. weapons stocks and expanding ammunition lines.

That is also essential for deterring the Chinese Communist Party from striking Taiwan. Mr. Biden wants $3.4 billion to boost U.S. submarine readiness and production, an American edge over Beijing’s forces. The U.S. currently can’t build enough boats to meet its own needs while also selling hulls to the Australians as part of the important Aukus agreement.

But the $7 billion total for Pacific priorities is too meager. Congress can fill out that request into a real plan to build more long-range missiles and three attack submarines a year to hit the needed 66 hulls in the U.S. Navy, from 49 now.

Mr. Biden’s request deserves bipartisan support, but he will get more from Republicans if he faces the reality that he can’t have both more military power and ever-more welfare and green-energy subsidies. He should choose, and now is the time for guns over butter.

Americans are receiving an education in what the world looks like when U.S. deterrence erodes, and rebuilding that power and will should be the top bipartisan priority in Washington. Americans grow weary of the costs of being the “essential nation,” as Mr. Biden called the U.S. on Thursday evening. But the alternative is unfolding in Israel, Europe and Africa, and the U.S. needs to prepare for the worse that may be coming.

The House GOP’s Mercenary Caucus
A majority doesn’t count for much in a chamber where every man is a king.
By Kimberley A. Strassel

The House remains speakerless, the chamber’s Republicans mired in a humiliating standoff. It might be tempting to think those blocking Rep. Jim Jordan from the top post are more high-minded in their opposition than those who ousted Rep. Kevin McCarthy. Think again. Different nominee, different holdouts—same grandstanding, same parochialism. Same mess.

Top blame for this embarrassment still rests with Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and his unmerry band of exhibitionists, who gutted Mr. McCarthy’s speakership and left their party in a slow bleed. They had no follow-up plan to the McCarthy ouster beyond also blocking his obvious replacement, Majority Leader Steve Scalise. One notable joke is that the Gaetz crew claimed the putsch necessary to stop House “chaos” and return to regular order. Two weeks into this spectacle and standstill, how’s that going?

Yet two failed votes into Mr. Jordan’s so-far-unsuccessful bid to take the gavel, the fault has spread to a different band of malcontents. Just as a small minority bucked the will of a conference that overwhelmingly backed Mr. McCarthy, a small minority is now bucking the will of a conference that this week overwhelmingly voted to give Mr. Jordan the job. This might all be over save for a new crew of limelighters.

The press is working mightily to give these holdouts cover for their opposition—the better to prolong the GOP disarray. The media suggests their intransigence is somehow more principled than that of the McCarthy rebels. One hilarious excuse is that the “no” votes have been pushed beyond human limit by a “pressure campaign” by Jordan allies. Please. Washington didn’t become “mean” overnight, and the “pressure” of this debate is no more or less than that of any other intraparty fight. If the poor, fragile creatures can’t handle the stress of a mere leadership vote, God help them should ObamaCare repeal come to the floor.

Another pretext is that some “moderate” Republicans in Biden-leaning districts just can’t risk a vote for—as the New York Times describes him—the “hard right” Mr. Jordan. The Times bestows the same descriptor on pretty much any member to the right of Nancy Pelosi. Many Republicans in competitive districts did vote for Mr. Jordan—on the obvious grounds that continued GOP upheaval is a far greater risk to their re-election.

As backroom negotiations and public statements prove, what’s really going on is more parochial and self-serving, not unlike the Gaetz rebellion. The Jordan refuseniks include a claque of New Yorkers holding back their votes over demands that hard-working Americans in flyover states once again be forced to subsidize New York’s insane tax rates by reimposing full deductibility of state and local taxes. Rep. Anthony D’Esposito on Twitter: “I want a Speaker who understands Long Island’s unique needs. Restoring the SALT deduction, safeguarding 9/11 victim support funding, and investing in critical infrastructure are our priorities.” By all means, let’s prioritize Long Island.

The Empire State crew is joined by a group of appropriator cardinals who see in their opposition to the small-government Mr. Jordan an opportunity to keep the spending spigots open. After all, what’s the need for a speaker to deal with war in Israel or $33 trillion in debt by comparison with the freedom to keep spending?

There are the usual grandstanders, who love the trailing media and who issue regular updates about their latest thoughts about and conversations with “Kevin” and “Jim” and “Steve.” And then there’s the hurt-feelings caucus, grumpy over the treatment handed out to Messrs. McCarthy and Scalise, refusing to vote for Mr. Jordan on the grounds that this will somehow reward Mr. Gaetz. This appears to include Mr. Scalise himself, who, while a member of leadership, has refused to issue a public endorsement of the man his caucus nominated.

Largely absent are particularized policy or procedural or leadership complaints against Mr. Jordan, at least not of a type specific enough that he might address them or satisfy demands. Also absent from many opponents is any considered alternative. While some members cast protest votes in favor of Messrs. McCarthy or Scalise, many just voted random names. Colorado Rep. Ken Buck, who voted to oust Mr. McCarthy, refused to cast votes for either Mr. Scalise or Mr. Jordan as nominee, and voted against Mr. Jordan on the floor twice, joked that in the most recent round he’d cast his lot for Rep. Tom Emmer because “I don’t like Tom Emmer. I figured this would be the worst job in America.” There’s serious for you.

The bigger point is that the name on the ballot no longer matters: McCarthy, Scalise, Jordan, Jesus. Members drew a lesson from the McCarthy fight in January and the later Gaetz revolt: We are, any one of us, kings and queens now. While the vast majority of the GOP conference remains focused on what’s best for party and country, a small but significant number of mercenary members intend to glory in their power. Good luck getting through to Washington’s new and ever-shifting royalty.

The Gaetz of Republican Hell
The House GOP still doesn’t have a Speaker after Jim Jordan loses a third vote.
By The Editorial Board

The eight House Republicans who ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy two weeks ago are getting exactly what they bargained for, whether they knew it then or not. The instigator, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, thinks a better Speaker would be Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan. But on Friday Mr. Jordan lost another floor vote, making it three this week, first with 20 defections, then 22, and finally 25.

Some of the Jordan dissenters are still angry about the shabby treatment of Mr. McCarthy and the conference’s No. 2 choice, Rep. Steve Scalise. Others seem to believe Mr. Jordan is too much of a firebrand to serve as the party’s front man. The no votes Friday included half of the Republicans in districts carried by President Biden in 2020. Mr. Jordan lost ground despite some notable attempts at sausage-making.

He reportedly tried to lure blue-state Republicans with a plan to double the federal deduction for state and local taxes, or SALT. Capping it at $10,000 was a huge victory in President Trump’s 2017 tax reform, so Mr. Jordan’s pledge contradicted the claim that as Speaker he’d be a conservative’s conservative. Also, seven of the McCarthy mutineers said in a letter that in exchange for electing Mr. Jordan, they’d accept “censure, suspension, or removal from the Conference.” Maybe they could have landed Mr. Jordan the job if they had offered seppuku.

By late Friday afternoon, chaos reigned. About a dozen Republicans had begun making calls to line up their own supporters, or were considering it, in advance of another Speaker candidate forum expected this Monday. Have a real fun weekend, guys. The GOP is right to refuse the idea, dangled by Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries, of a “bipartisan governing coalition.” But Republicans need to come up with a consensus candidate, and fast.

Perhaps it’s acting Speaker Patrick McHenry, or perhaps someone else. This isn’t a life sentence, after all. But friends in Israel and Ukraine need America’s support, government funding runs out again in a month, and Virginia goes to the polls a week before that.

Buddy supports Israel . He has been a great friend and continues to be so. He does not understand why he has not received wider support among the Jewish Community. I believe it is because an increasing number of liberal Jews have no affinity for Israel and would rather support the Democrat Party which increasingly hates both Israel and America. When you question them about "The Squad" they have no answer and either ignore you or start their harangue about Trump, Maga and white supremacists.
They are completely illogical. Ignorance and emotion dictates their thinking. Their religion is based on misguided politics and use their hatred of Trump as their excuse. Their bible is The NYT's.

COMBATTING ANTISEMITISM

I’ve been very disturbed by the members of Congress and the media who were quick to abandon our ally, Israel, and spread Hamas’ false claim that Israel bombed a civilian hospital in Gaza.

This is a symptom of a larger, global rise in antisemitism that we cannot afford to ignore.

I’ve long-been critical of this President and disagree with most of his decisions, including the inexcusable $6 billion payment to Iran that emboldened the Hamas terrorists ahead of their October 7th attack, and I was disappointed that he did not bring any Americans home on his flight out of Israel. He abandoned Americans during his botched Afghanistan withdrawal and did it once again when he boarded Air Force One without any stranded Americans. Despite these failures, I was pleased to see him stand by our ally and not fall for the false narrative spread by Hamas. It’s a low bar but one that many members of the modern Democrat party stumble over.

While antisemitism is egregious in any form and those who perpetuate it must be held accountable, as a member of the House Bipartisan Task Force for Combatting Anti-Semitism, I recognize that those individuals who spread hateful ideas do not represent the American people. To those Jewish members of our community, we are praying for you. We recognize Israel’s right to exist, and to defend herself, and are ready to supply the aid necessary to ensure her success. Your losses are our losses, and we are mourning the loss of innocent lives alongside you.

I was proud to lead the Georgia House Republican delegation in a video this week showing our joint support for Israel. In moments like these, it’s critical that we rally together and make it clear where we stand: with Israel.

Israel’s 16th Day of War
By Sherwin Pomerantz

Sixteen days into the war and the overall news is not good.  The only good news is that two of the 212 hostages held by Hamas have now been released.  A mother and daughter from the Chicago suburb of Evanston were turned over to Israeli authorities on Friday afternoon through the intervention of the Americans, Qataris and the International Red Cross.   According to Hamas they were released for humanitarian reasons (details of what that means are not clear) and as of today should be on their way back to the US.  The bad news is that there are still 210 hostages being held by Hamas including 30 children as young as 8 months of age.  The oldest hostage is 85.  One of the young hostages, Ohad, will mark his 9th birthday on Monday in the hands of Hamas, definitely not where he or his family wanted to be on that day.

The story Hamas is now sending out to the world is that they never had any intent to take anything but military hostages.  The civilians, according to them, were taken by Gaza residents who swarmed into Israel when the border fence was breached and it was those people who took the civilians.  Of course, needless to say, if you believe that story it belies the other story that the Gazans are innocent civilians being held captive by Hamas.

Regarding humanitarian aid to Gaza, the first 20 trucks filled with aid for Gaza were admitted through the Rafah Crossing between Gaza and Egypt earlier today.  Clearly it is only a drop in the bucket compared to what Gaza needs.  Israel is not allowing any aid to come through Israel and, for whatever reason, Egypt seems to be reluctant to open the border long enough for the hundreds of rucks lined up in wait to enter.

The United States continues its oversight in the region as well as its materiel support for the IDF.  Late last week a US navy vessel intercepted three rockets launched from Yemen which were headed in our direction.  On Saturday the 45th US cargo aircraft since the war began landed in the Ramon Airport near Eilat laden with weaponry, part of the total of 1,000 tons shipped in here to date.  In preparation for a potential regional war, America has also moved additional firepower into the region.  Thank you, America.

It also appears that we have not yet cleared out all of the Gazan invaders from October 7th.   Four of them were found hiding in Beersheba yesterday and were captured.

On the southern border with Gaza, rocket fire continues from Gaza into Israel.  My Red Alert system shows rockets fired at Sderot at 2:40 PM today, Sunday, continuing the barrages albeit at lower intensity than previously.  The IDF is massed on that border and aerial bombing continues but no ground movement as yet.  The Homefront Command announced today that it was preparing to evacuate residents of Ashkelon who do not have access to shelters. Ashkelon is the largest city in Israel to be under regular bombardment from Gaza.

The northern border with Lebanon has also seen additional activity today with Israel widening its evacuation order for the north to everyone living within 3 miles of the border which includes Kiryat Shmona.  The military activity there today has been greater than what we saw last week and is worrisome.

Judea and Samaria (i.e. what many refer to as the West Bank) is also heating up in response to Hamas’ call for Jihad.  Israel bombed a mosque in Jenin there which it suspected housed a terror group planning a Hamas-style attack on Israel.  There were large anti-Israel demonstrations in multiple locations in the area on Saturday as well.

What does inspire everyone here is the outpouring of support and cooperation from everyone as the entire country pitches in to address the daily needs of the population.  One example should illustrate this.  The entire population of Kibbutz Sa’ad in the Gaza envelope as it is called, has been evacuated to a Dead Sea Hotel and is functioning as a community with the hotel itself.  Classes have resumed there for the students of the kibbutz, social and religious services are in place and the needs of the people are being met through the cooperation of everyone else involved.

For the up to 500,000 Israelis who have had to relocate from their homes as a result of the war, every effort is being made by those who have a regular place to sleep, to assist those less fortunate.

Let us hope that this war we did not want and did not start will end sooner rather than later with the minimum number of casualties.

The Hamas, Arab, and BBC Big Lie About Israel and the Bombed Gaza Hospital - The American Spectator | USA News and Politics
By Dov Fischer

The media conspires with the terrorists.

A guy stops his friend and relates excitedly: “Did you hear about Harvey? His wife just drove his brand-new Tesla into a swamp!”

The friend responds: “First, it wasn’t Harvey. It was Frank. Second, it wasn’t his wife. It was his mother-in-law. Third, it wasn’t brand new; it was second-hand. Fourth, it wasn’t a Tesla. It was a Prius. Fifth, it wasn’t into a swamp. It was over a cliff. And sixth, it never happened.”

That is what Israel has had to deal with for 75 years: Arab Big Lies gobbled up and regurgitated all-too-willingly by a left-wing anti-Israel mass media that has no soul and lies without hesitation if it sells newspapers, gets online clicks, likes, and followers. The bigger the lie, the more the clicks and followers. People attribute the Big Lie concept to the German Nazis of Hitler, especially his chief liar, Joseph Goebbels. But the Western lying media gobbles more than Goebbels. They are despicable falsifiers whose fake news incites violence and promotes catastrophe. Remember Trump colluding with Putin?

In the Middle Eastern context, the terrorist Arabs lie, and BBC and CNN and all of them jump in to repeat the lies. Perhaps the most infamous of all was when the New York Times blared an Associated Press photo, caption, and story about an Israeli soldier beating the living daylights out of some poor innocent Arab kid, whom the photo showed was all bloodied up. The New York Times story said it was another example of how the Israelis send their soldiers onto the Temple Mount and desecrate holy Islamic soil and beat up on Arabs who are there only to pray sweetly.

Some sharp-eyed Zionists (i.e., people who believe that Jews have a right to live in Israel just as Black Lives Matter has a right to live in Chicago and Ben & Jerry’s has a right to live on ancestral Native American lands in Vermont) noticed an oddity. If the guy with the Hebrew uniform, menacingly waving his billy club at the bleeding teen, was an Israeli soldier gone wild on the Temple Mount, how was it that the photo showed a gas station in the background? Gas stations on the Temple Mount? Really?

So it turned out that — surprise! — the New York Times was lying. It wasn’t the Temple Mount but a Jerusalem street in an Arab neighborhood. The guy with the nightstick was not an army soldier but a civilian police officer. The kid bleeding was not an Arab beaten by the Israeli brandishing the club but Tuvia Grossman, a Jewish kid from America who had just been assaulted and battered badly by a gang of murderous Arabs. And the cop was waving his club at the Arab attackers to get them away from the Jewish kid before they killed him.

Oops…

How did the truth come out? That is the story that should have been page one. First, a Dr. Aaron Grossman of Chicago wrote the liars:

Regarding your picture on page A5 of the Israeli soldier and the Palestinian on the Temple Mount — that Palestinian is actually my son, Tuvia Grossman, a Jewish student from Chicago. He, and two of his friends, were pulled from their taxicab while traveling in Jerusalem, by a mob of Palestinian Arabs, and were severely beaten and stabbed. That picture could not have been taken on the Temple Mount because there are no gas stations on the Temple Mount and certainly none with Hebrew lettering, like the one clearly seen behind the Israeli soldier attempting to protect my son from the mob.

Busted.

So the Times posted this correction:

A picture caption on Saturday about fighting between Israelis and Palestinians in Jerusalem included an erroneous identification from The Associated Press for a wounded man shown with an Israeli policeman. He was Tuvia Grossman of Chicago, an American student in Israel, not an unidentified Palestinian. In some copies the caption also misidentified the site where Mr. Grossman was wounded. It was in Jerusalem’s Old City, but not on the Temple Mount.

The correction was inadequate, so the Times was forced to publish a further correction three days later:

A picture caption on Page A6 last Saturday about fighting in Jerusalem gave an erroneous identification from The Associated Press for a wounded man shown with an Israeli policeman. He was Tuvia Grossman of Chicago, an American studying at a Jewish seminary in Jerusalem, not an unidentified Palestinian. In some copies the caption also included the news agency’s erroneous reference to the site. The incident occurred in an Arab neighborhood of Jerusalem, not on the Temple Mount or elsewhere in the Old City. A correction in this space on Wednesday cited the errors incompletely and omitted an explanation of the scene. The officer was waving a nightstick at Palestinians, telling them to stay away from Mr. Grossman. He was not beating Mr. Grossman.

And a corrective news story had to accompany the correction because so much had been falsified:

They looked out, as they recalled later, and saw a crowd of Palestinian youths blocking the road and closing in on them.

A stone crashed through the back window and Mr. Pollock’s head was gashed. Then all of the taxi’s windows were shattered in a volley of rocks, and the terrified Americans tried to huddle down and cover their faces. The doors were jerked open, they said, and they were dragged out by the mob and beaten….

The officer [shown above Grossman in picture], wielding a club and moving toward him protectively, ordered the Palestinians to back off.

“He recognized that Tuvia was Jewish and was being pursued, and he was yelling, ‘Back off! Back off!'”

Grossman’s family sued and won a libel judgment, as Nick Sandmann would sue the media decades later and win.

Such despicable liars. That’s how they all operate. Shameless. And even worse is the BBC, as Douglas Murray brilliantly stated the other day on British TV:

<iframe title="YouTube video player" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/l-p19dN0tEA?si=64YVK6i_uJXV1IEZ" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>

The latest Big Lie against Israel now is the day’s top international news: a hospital in Gaza that got blown up, killing several hundred Arabs in it. Right away, Hamas accused Israel of mercilessly blowing up a hospital and murdering hundreds of innocent Arabs. Arab countries Jordan and Egypt called off a conference that Joe Biden was supposed to attend. Abu Mazen (the terrorist in a suit also called Mahmoud Abbas) declared three days of mourning in “Palestine” over the Zionist butchery. Lots to unwind here. And yet so simple, simpler than Occam’s Razor.

First, even if Israel blows up every hospital in Gaza and kills thousands, understand that Hamas stations and stores inside the Gaza hospitals (and in schools, residential apartment buildings, mosques, and ambulances) the weapons they use to launch rockets and drones (as well as the missiles and other materiel) to murder Jews in Israel. Unless you the reader personally want to go into one of those hospitals in Hamas-run Gaza and personally ask Hamas’ permission to blow up the drones and missiles, there sometimes may be no other way to take out those weapons than to blow up the whole hospital that is serving as an auxiliary warehouse for the deadly items.

After what happened on the Sabbath of the Holy Day of Sh’mini Atzeret on Oct. 7, Israel is finished with playing games and “mowing lawns.” They will take out those weapons — and good for them. The blame for civilian deaths in such sorties is on Hamas for storing murderous weapons in hospitals and other civilian locations, and on the people of Gaza for voting Hamas into office and dancing in the streets and celebrating when Jews are mass murdered and Jewish naked corpses are paraded in the backs of pickup trucks. Israel is not targeting people, trying so very hard both to avoid bad publicity and utterly uninterested in vengeance. They simply have to eradicate the weapons used to murder Jews. Anyone who gets in the way is collateral damage. There is a real war going on. Ask survivors of Hiroshima and Dresden.

Point 2: The main central HQ of Hamas is believed to be located under a different Gaza hospital. Not a smart place to go this week for a lung transplant. If and when Israel locates and decides to take out that hospital, be ready for the reaction and lies. It is on Hamas for locating there. What country situates its military personnel to hide headquarters in a hospital or under it?

Point 3: Ready for this point? Israel did not bomb the hospital anyway. Rather, it was Islamic Jihad. The whole brouhaha is a lie. Gaza terrorists shoot homemade rockets that have a high failure rate. They are made in kitchens, not by Raytheon, Lockheed, or Boeing. So far, hundreds of their missiles have not even made it into Israel but have landed within Gaza and even inadvertently have blown up Gaza buildings and killed people in Gaza. One of these days, these morons will end up blowing up the Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock, clearing it for erection of the Third Holy Temple.

Point 4: How do we know it was they, not we? (Nominative case after intransitive verb.) Aerial photographs and video show that the explosion was caused by a rocket or missile launched from the ground and following an upward trajectory … and then back down to the hospital. Israel is not situated such that they could launch from the ground in Gaza; rather, Israel is bombing from overhead fighter planes that drop bombs from the sky, like in WWII movies. It’s a clear evidence thing, beyond question, that the Arabs themselves blew up their hospital and killed their hundreds.

Even so, as soon as Hamas accused Israel, the vile anti-Semitic BBC reported that Israel did it: “Gaza hospital deluged as Israel retaliation kills and wounds hundreds.” Lies. Damned lies. And more damned lies.

Arabs are calling for their third “Day of Rage” this month. Presumably, 32 Jew-hating clubs at Harvard will condemn Israel. Ben & Jerry’s will announce free ice cream for anyone at the hospital still alive, assuming they can find the hospital in the crater. Black Lives Matter will post something on X (formerly called Twitter) and will shake down corporate America.

Let’s see what lies they have for us tomorrow.
*****
UPDATE: To top it all off, Israeli intelligence just has released a remarkable intercepted live Arabic recording of two Hamas operatives talking soon after the explosion. The translated transcript:

Hamas operative #1: I’m telling you this is the first time that we see a missile like this falling.
Hamas operative #2: And so that’s why we are saying it belongs to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Hamas operative #1: What?
Hamas operative #2: They are are saying it belongs to PIJ.
Hamas operative #1: It’s from us?
Hamas operative #2: It looks like it!
Hamas operative #1: Who says this?
Hamas operative #2: They are saying that the shrapnel from the missile is local shrapnel and not like Israeli shrapnel.
Hamas operative #1: What are you saying (Name)?
Hamas operative #2: But God Bless, it couldn’t have found another place to explode?
Hamas operative #1: Nevermind, yes, (Name), they shot it from the cemetery behind the hospital.
Hamas operative #2: What?!
Hamas operative #1: They shot it coming from the cemetery behind the Al-Ma’amadani Hospital, and it misfired and fell on them.
Hamas operative #2: There’s a cemetery behind it?
Hamas operative #1: Yes, Al-Ma’amadani is exactly in the compound.
Hamas operative #2: Where is it when you enter the compound?
Hamas operative #1: You first enter the compound and don’t go towards the city and it’s on the right side of the Al-Ma’amadani Hospital.
Hamas operative #2: Yes, I know it.

And:

Israelis want to live in peace. Hamas, Palestinians, Islamist Terrorists, Radial Arabs and Muslims, in the billions, want to kill , hate and rule the world as does Xi, Putin, Iran's Ayatollahs etc,  Go Figure.
