Dear Family and Friends,
I hope that you had a chance to see and/or hear President Biden's speech from the Oval Office earlier today.
If not, I urge you to watch or hear it on 'replay'.
I think, without exception, ALL of us have worked hard to get ourselves and our children into 'good schools' and our children are responding by doing their best to make the most of the opportunities that we are providing them now or have in the past as they are getting started in their professional careers.
It is shocking, abhorrent and unacceptable to me to see that the 'Academic Administrators' of the 'Creme de la Creme' (ie the Most Prestigious Colleges and Universities) are, by their silence or extremely watered down 'statements', allowing on their campuses the chanting/calling for the complete destruction of Israel!
I am forwarding you an email from Tikvah a respected organization entitled: Universities: "Portraits of Moral Courage"
Please read the reporting of what is occurring on campuses of schools you will recognize, that you may have attended or your children may be going to or if they are still in High School may be considering applying to.
In my opinion, these outrageous outbursts are only the beginning. I fear the direction our Country may be going, unless we stop 'inventing history' or for that matter 'repeating history.'
I feel qualified giving you my urgent views on this subject because as many of you know I have been a prisoner in the Soviet Union both in Siberia and Uzbekistan and as a result I know and appreciate the difference between what we still have here as opposed to what the Totalitarian Regimes aspire to force on us-whether under the guise of a 'caliphate' or a Political Structure.

Sen Scott called upon Biden to withdraw all Federal Aid from Universities where students are being allowed to support terrorists and Hamas, etc.. Why should hate be supported by citizen tax payments. It is high time adults, acting as children, pay a price for their puerile actions.

Today (Saturday, 21/10. I attended a fund raiser for my Congressional Rep, Buddy Carter. Buddy's guest was former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. I did not have paper or pen and my ability to remember is waning so this memo will be less in depth and simply a surface review of McCarthy's comments.
Buddy reviewed Kevin's history. He was raised in California. His family were working middle class and Kevin was an entrepreneur in his own right. He has a very easy manner and a delightful sense of humor.
I now understand why Buddy has such respect for him.
The former Speaker began by talking about the diverse number of Republican Representatives the GOP seldom thought they could elect. However, they have been quite successful and have elected 5 such Representatives. in California and New York alone.
Kevin then humorously discussed his relationship and initial February meeting with Biden and Schumer. He gave the attendees some interesting insights into what he and his associates have accomplished. They are actually numerous and have actually placed restraints on future government indebtedness.
He ticked off five disagreements he particularly has with Administration policies with particular emphasis on the tragic effect of drugs coming from China.
Obviously, he believes Biden must protect our borders, must develop and market more of our enormous clean gas reserves which would accomplish much of what "Greens" seek, ie. cleaner air while simultaneously reducing our debt.
I thought he made a compelling analysis of the consequence of fentanyl, He said over 300 Americans die every day and we do nothing but if we realized this is the equivalent of one commercial jet crashing daily we damn well would respond.
Biden's excessive deficit spending must end. He seriously doubted Biden was capable of convincing our allies he was a strong and decisive leader and should unshackle Israel.
He also enumerated how Biden needed to reknit our important relationships with the Saudis and others offended.
Finally, he spoke frankly about the failure of his Party to meet it's obligations. He was not bitter about the treatment he experienced at the hands of the Gaetz led group that ended his Speakership.
I came away saddened that his own party could not get their act together and that a decent man had been brought down by those with misplaced/uncontrolled ego's.
Most politician have a hero. McCarthy's admires Lincoln. He also has a painting of President Washington which was painted by a Russian who lived in America, returned to his home nation and sought to convince them to model themselves after America which was based on an ever lasting idea.
Finally, he mentioned Iran had about $4 Billion reserves and now has $74. Biden allowed them to sell oil to China and now is stronger than when he took office and thus, is able to sponsor terrorism.
As I departed, I thanked Buddy for his own service and for bringing The Former Speaker to Savannah and asked him a rhetorical question: " Who pulls Biden's strings and he confirmed Obama Holdovers?"
