Finally:

It is a long bet Trump can change his personality and take advantage of Bragg's outrageous, probably unconstitutional, attack sponsored/financed by a dangerous man who wants to change America, has the money to do so and has been engaged for a long time at just that.  Obama is the black equivalent of Soros.

American's generally do not like a bully like Bragg but then New Yorkers are not real people.  They used to be the core of our country but they became too self absorbed, too liberal and too pre-occupied with being trendy.

This law suit is legally flimsy and connotes a double judicial standard, weaponization of our legal system and a desire to destroy a former president's right to his freedom and destruction of one's being. Hatred of Trump knows no bounds, has become totally irrational and is sickening.

It would have been the same had Bragg lived in California.

Many readers will be busy cleaning their homes for the upcoming Jewish festival of Passover. I noticed a fresh, clean theme connecting many of the recent articles in this issue of my positive Israel newsletter. (edited.)

In the medical arena, Israeli scientists have developed a vaccine that can clean up bacterial infections and have enhanced ultrasound treatment to clean the pathway to the brain of Alzheimer's patients. Israeli startup CleanCoin is spreading its innovative trash removal solution across the globe; Israel's Kando is helping keep Negev Bedouin communities clean and disease free; and Israel's BlueGreen has cleaned up a toxic South African reservoir, for free.

There have been several recent Israeli clean, green energy advances - improving the efficiency of Electric Vehicle batteries; extracting bio-fuel from insects; and generating hydrogen in Japan. An Israeli app can add air quality analysis to all air purifiers; an Israeli innovation can reduce the amount of CO2 generated by steel production; and another can replace plastic and polystyrene with biodegradable alternatives.

Green, plant-based
foods help make a cleaner, sustainable environment. Latest Israeli innovations include a vegan egg albumin; pea-protein substitutes for deli meats, and a biosensor to give early-warnings of crop diseases. Finally, JNF-USA has followed its successful Be'er Sheva River Park project with the creation of the Yerucham River Park - a clean, green, recreational site built using recycled wastewater and purified rainwater..

As I am traveling next week, I plan to publish my next newsletter in two weeks' time on Sun 2nd Apr.  If this email arrives in your spam / junk folder, please mark it as "NOT SPAM".

In the 19th Mar 23 edition of Israel’s good news, the highlights include:

ISRAEL’S MEDICAL ACHIEVEMENTS

After two centuries of farming East Palestine family worries for the future
By Salena Zito

ENON VALLEY, Pa. — When the Leslie family’s ancestors first started plowing this land, both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams still had over a decade of post-presidency to enjoy, and Abraham Lincoln was a small child living on the edge of poverty in Hodgenville, Ky.

Tina Leslie explains that her family’s 200-acre Lawrence County dairy farm originally was a land grant given to a veteran of the American Revolution to compensate for the devaluation of the currency used to pay soldiers during the war. “The land was purchased by my husband Howard Leslie’s family in 1815,” she explained.

“We still farm most of the original 200, give or take a few acres,” she said, adding that today, most of the work is done by her son, Alex, and his wife, Amanda — something Tina and her husband did for over 30 years until their recent retirement.

But ask any farming family, including the Leslies, and they’ll tell you: They never really retire.

The sprawling dairy farm sits right where Beaver and Lawrence counties converge with the Ohio state line, which placed them right in the path of the black cloud that rose over East Palestine, Ohio, a month ago, when Norfolk Southern convinced the governors of Ohio and Pennsylvania that the only way to avert a worse catastrophe was a controlled burn of toxic chemicals.

“I was sitting in my living room, and I have these long windows that face south, and I just happened to look up — and you could see these dark clouds rolling in that had the look of an ominous storm,” she recalled.

She recalls her husband turning to her saying, “Boy, it got really dark out.”

Tina said she went outside to let the dogs out, but also to get a better feel for the situation — and she stopped dead in her tracks. “It was the strangest thing; it turned pitch dark, and I couldn’t hear anything. There was no sound. Almost like the sound of when it snows that wet snow and you can’t hear sound,” she said.

The family discussed leaving — her son’s house is on the same property — but decided instead to make sure everything was sealed tight and hunker down.

When they got up the next morning, everything seemed to be okay — but they’ve felt uneasy ever since.

The Leslies take great pride in being from Enon Valley. In the early days of Pennsylvania, this area was entirely agrarian and part of the Depreciation Lands that were given to Revolutionary War soldiers. Lawrence County was carved out from parts of Beaver and Mercer counties in 1849; before that, Beaver County had been created in 1800 from parts of Allegheny and Washington counties.

In 1851, the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne and Chicago railroads built a train station in this sleepy town, and for a minute it became a transportation hub for the entire region. A large general store was built, along with two hotels, a distillery, a roundhouse, a repair shop and a broom factory.

While the hub eventually shifted elsewhere, the tracks and the long-long-short-long whistle of the trains bringing goods through the area never left. Tina says her father was the child of Italian immigrants who were part of the next wave of residents who settled here and worked on the railroad.

The Norfolk Southern train that derailed in East Palestine was traveling to a rail yard in Beaver County that night, and left the tracks just moments before reaching this Lawrence County borough.

“People stay here because they feel a sense of place,” said Tina, 64, who along with her husband has raised three children here: Nathan, who is both a minister and the mayor of a neighboring town; Alex, the agricultural engineer now running the farm with his wife Amanda, a nurse; and daughter Sarah, who lives in suburban Pittsburgh with her family.

The Leslie dairy farm has over 40 cows that Alex now milks since he and Amanda took over the farm a couple of years ago. Everyone still chips in, though, to get the milk to the nearby dairy for consumers. Alex also works at a local orchard year-round, and when Tina and Howard ran the farm, Howard spent 39 years doing double duty as the vo-ag teacher at Blackhawk School District until the FFA, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, discontinued it due to budget cuts in 2012.

“You have to have other jobs outside the farm to make ends meet,” Tina explains of the unpredictability of farming, a result of milk prices changing all the time and other outside forces like the weather and consumer trends.

The family successfully switched to seasonal milking a couple of years ago; seasonal milking is a cycle that begins with calving in March, followed by breeding in the summer, then ongoing milking until December, when the cows are dried up and everyone takes the winter off until March.

Since the toxic burn, Tina said, she is worried about the soil: “Our cows are about to go out to pasture very shortly, and you’re just afraid whether there’s any residue on there — or if it has penetrated deeper — because we obviously don’t want our cows to be eating anything that could be poisonous and then go in the milk, and then we’re shipping milk, and then we’re giving that to consumers.”

Since the day after the derailment, farmers here and across the border in Ohio have been pressuring local community leaders along with elected officials, Norfolk Southern and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to expand the sampling radius for testing for dioxins and other chemical contaminants.

Overall farming is a big economic driver here: Beaver County’s 707 farms generate more than $23 million in annual sales; Lawrence County’s 587 farms generate more than $34 million. The ones within the cloud of the controlled burn want to make certain their farm produce is safe for consumers — and they want to be compensated if their land and livelihood has been compromised.

Tina said she asked her son Alex right away if they wanted to get the soil tested, and he never hesitated: “He said ‘I don’t want to sell something to somebody if it’s going to harm them.’ And I thought, that’s the right answer. That’s the absolute right answer.”

When the tests became available last week, the Leslies went to Darlington to sign up to have their ground tested. “They said it would take three weeks or more until they would get to us, then — lo and behold — they stopped at our house yesterday to test the soil,” she said.

It will be weeks before they get the results, so the uncertainty continues. Meanwhile, outside of local media, the national press has largely evaporated since President Biden said he would not come to the region and talk to the people.

Farming in Pennsylvania is the pillar of the commonwealth’s economy and heritage, and despite all the usual uncertainties that impact farmers — trade, weather, politics — there are still over 52,000 family farms that work over 7 million acres of Pennsylvania land.

Despite employing over 280,000 people and despite a direct economic output of nearly $85 billion, farmers still have little political power in Washington, mainly because farmland is sparsely populated — fewer people, fewer votes.

In addition to the fear of not knowing what is in their water and their soil, Tina said another fear is being a casualty of geography.

“My heart just breaks for the people of East Palestine, because I don’t even think they have any clue how devastating this really is. I mean, I think some people do. Some people don’t. And some people don’t want to know.”

A Year of Palestinian Violence: The Numbers Behind the Headlines

This March marks one year since the beginning of the current wave of anti-Israeli violence and terrorism that has claimed the lives of 45 Israeli citizens and residents of the Jewish state and has wounded scores of others.

While the international media have reported on major instances of Palestinian terrorism, the vast majority of violent incidents that have occurred over the past year continue to go unreported.

DeSantis's Doubts over Ukraine Will Strengthen Putin, China, Iran
by Con Coughlin
March 19, 2023 at 5:00 am

No one will be more delighted at the deepening scepticism expressed about America's continued involvement in the Ukraine conflict than Russian President Vladimir Putin.

At a time when the Russian leader is desperate to turn the conflict in Moscow's favour, any indication that the US and its allies are losing interest in their support for Kyiv will simply encourage Putin in the belief that he can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Recent comments by a number of prominent Republicans have indicated that, far from backing the Ukrainians in their existential battle for survival against unprovoked Russian aggression, their primary objective is to scale down American involvement at the first available opportunity.

Ron DeSantis, the Florida governor and a likely frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination, has declared that protecting Ukraine is not a "vital interest" for the United States, calling the dispute nothing more than a territorial dispute between Kyiv and Moscow. "While the US has many vital national interests... becoming further entangled in a territorial dispute between Ukraine and Russia is not one of them."

Meanwhile former President Donald Trump, one of DeSantis's main rivals for the nomination, has said he would have struck a deal with Putin, giving him control of large swathes of eastern Ukraine, to end the war if he were still in the White House.

Scepticism about maintaining American military support has been deepening in Republican circles in recent months, especially after the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in last year's mid-term elections.

Kevin McCarthy, who was eventually appointed Speaker of the House in January after overcoming strong opposition from Republican opponents, reportedly agreed to spending caps that would limit future aid to Ukraine as part of the deal he struck with ultraconservatives to secure his appointment.

Apart from increasing pressure on US President Joe Biden to change his approach to the Ukraine conflict, mounting Republican opposition to the war represents a public relations gift to Putin.

From the start of the conflict, one of the Russian leader's key assumptions has been that the Western powers were too weak and divided to sustain their support for the Ukrainian cause, and so it is proving.

Nor is it just in the US that there are indications that support for the war is on the wane. While European leaders -- in public, at least -- continue to pledge their backing for Kyiv, there are worrying indications that their rhetoric is not matched with deeds.

Lat week, France was accused of impeding the European Union's plans to replenish Ukraine's dwindling artillery shell stocks in a dispute over where the weapons are manufactured. After the EU agreed on a scheme to provide Kyiv with one million 155mm artillery shells that would bolster the Ukrainian war effort, Paris had delayed implementation of the deal by insisting that only defence firms based in the EU should be allowed to access the lucrative new contracts said to be worth two billion euros.

Concerns have also been raised recently about the willingness of other European powers to maintain their support for Ukraine. Germany was recently accused of blocking attempts to provide Kyiv with tanks, while in Britain, where the military has suffered more than a decade of underfunding, the British government is running short of ammunition to send to Ukraine.

This depressing picture will undoubtedly be interpreted by Putin as justifying his view that the West would eventually lose interest in the Ukraine conflict and that, for all the public pledges of support, the Western alliance does not want Ukraine to win after all.

The indications from DeSantis and others that Western support for Kyiv is on the wane could also have potentially disastrous consequences for the Ukrainian war effort. There are also wider global security implications: if Putin is able to get his way in Ukraine, he will be encouraged in the belief that he can expand his territorial ambitions into other parts of Europe. Other adversaries of the West will not fail to see a second major US retreat as yet another vacuum, and a green light for their territorial expansion, as well.

For example, an investigation undertaken by the Dossier Centre, a group funded by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a long-standing critic of Putin, has warned that the Kremlin plans to take over Moldova by the end of the decade, a threat also delivered in early February by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, as well as over a year ago by Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko "standing in front of a battle map that appears to show a planned invasion of Moldova, along with Ukraine."

Moscow has also threatened to attack airfields in Poland, a NATO member state, which would require a military response from the entire NATO alliance, thereby provoking all-out war between Russia and the West. At that point, the conflict would very much become a "vital interest" for Washington.

Putin is always looking for any sign of weakness in his enemies that he can exploit, which would explain the interception of an American drone over the Black Sea by two Russian Su-27 warplanes this week. Apart from disrupting the intelligence-gathering mission being undertaken by the MQ-9 Reaper drone, the Russians would also have been aiming to test Washington's response.

Any weakening of support by the US and its allies could also have implications for the war in Ukraine itself, where Ukrainian forces are currently involved in desperate battle to defend the eastern city of Bakhmut.

While the Russians have suffered significant losses in their assault on the city -- some estimates suggest the Russians are losing up to 1,000 men a day -- Russian commanders will be encouraged in the belief that they can ultimately prevail with their gruelling offensive if they believe that the Ukrainians can no longer rely on support from the West.

Fortunately there are still countries such as Poland that have no intention of abandoning the Ukrainian cause. On the contrary, the plucky Poles have just reaffirmed their commitment to Kyiv by becoming the first NATO member state to send warplanes to Ukraine: Warsaw is planning to send four MIG-29 fighters.

It is a move that the Biden Administration and other allies should be encouraged to replicate. That is leadership -- and what many Americans seem starved for: a Churchill, not a Chamberlain. A reminder: it would have been so much less costly in life and treasure to have stopped Hitler before he crossed the Rhine.

In an attempt to persuade DeSantis to change his mind, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited the Florida governor to visit him in Kyiv.

It is an invitation DeSantis would be well-advised to accept.

“That’s Not True”: President Biden Moves Toward the Evil Twin Family Defense
By Law Professor
John Turley

President Joe Biden has repeatedly denied that his family received money from China. He has also denied any knowledge of his son’s foreign dealings despite direct evidence to the contrary, including a recorded message from the President to Hunter referencing the deals. The White House has simply refused to address the recording or photographs contradicting the President. Now, there is confirmation that millions were sent from China and then money from a third-party account was distributed to at least three, and possibly four, Biden family members. However, when confronted with the evidence on the way to Marine One, the President again declared “that’s not true.” Given that these are suspicious activity reports (SARs) from Biden’s own Treasury Department, it is unclear now what the President is suggesting beyond the possibility of an evil twin Biden family that is besmirching his good name.

After the GOP takeover of the House, the Oversight Committee demanded information long blocked by the Democratic leadership on the SARs related to the Biden family. The first such disclosure involved a Robinson Walker, LLC account that received $3 million from the State Energy HK Limited. Money was later distributed in incremental payments over three months to Hallie Biden and companies associated with Hunter Biden and James Biden. There was also an unknown bank account identified as “Biden.”

The House Oversight Committee is demanding to hear from the recipient of the transfer from China. Chairman Comer wrote John Walker that the panel “is investigating President Biden’s involvement in his family’s business practices” and “has identified you as a critical witness in this matter and has reviewed evidence showing you received millions of dollars originating from a Chinese energy company and elsewhere.” Walker can explain any connection between the Chinese transfer and the later distributions.

What is clear is that money has been received by Biden family members from China and other foreign interests. However, the White House has continued to refuse to answer questions on these details.

Even the highly deferential White House press corps erupted when White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that they would have the opportunity to ask President Biden questions at an upcoming meeting with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar. The President rarely answers questions at such photo ops.

It is now clear that the President has continued to lie about his lack of prior knowledge of Hunter’s foreign dealings. It is also clear that the family has received money from deals in China and other foreign countries. That leaves the President with only categorical denials in the face of growing evidence to the contrary.

What is also clear is that the Bidens ran one of the most lucrative and blatant influence peddling operations in history. Influence peddling is the favorite form of corruption in Washington, but the Biden family is truly in a class to itself . . . unless there is that evil twin Biden family that continues to undermine the First Family.

Most often when someone, or a group, consistently and incessantly refers to others with certain disparaging, demeaning, and destructive accusations it is because they are projecting their own behavior upon others. This is the case with the repeated “threats to democracy” narrative that the progressive socialist left has been firing against anyone opposing their totalitarianism. It began after that abhorrent speech by Joe Biden last year in front of the disturbing backdrop of Independence Hall. This empty assertion continues to be used by the left because, in their minds, it worked for them in the 2022 midterm elections.

Would I rather America have open borders, would I rather have Americans dying from Fentanyl? Would I rather have trains running off their tracks and train management and the president being indifferent, would I rather have historic inflation destroying family income and independently owned small shops  placed in economic peril,  would I rather have insane world leaders threatening us because they have the ability and would I finally favor the possibility of a president and his family selling their office and doing business with our nation's biggest adversary?

My answer is no and this is why Trump's achievements cause me to overlook his intransigent and narcissistic personality and not that of Biden's who has proven to be a disastrous leader and a pervasive two faced liar bent on appointments that are solely motivated by everything that disregards competence.  Weakness begets wars and encourages threats and dangerous challenges that only lead to trouble and heartache and when  I see preparation that disadvantages my country I have no choice but to act in a protective manner.

Report: Axios Fires Writer For Calling DeSantis Statement ‘Propaganda’
NBy CHRIS AGEE

Journalist FIRED Over DeSantis Statement
While it might not be surprising to learn that a reporter used disparaging rhetoric to describe a prominent conservative, recent reports indicate that one Axios writer crossed the line.
