The Federal Reserve Needs to Take a Hard Look in the Mirror
By Mickey D. Levy and Charles Plosser via Wall Street Journal

Mickey Levy and Charles Plosser explains how the Fed, through a scheme that favored higher inflation and a mandate of maximizing employment, cast aside approaches employed by former chairs Alan Greenspan and Paul Volcker that favored price stability. The consequence of these policy missteps was soaring inflation experienced by Americans in the past year. Levy and Plosser advocate that at the Fed’s next strategic review, central bankers should reinstate preemptive monetary policy tightening and keep inflation expectations anchored at 2 percent

Are investors, who hate Musk because he favors free speech, purposely shorting Tesla in order to cause him financial stress with the banks, so they can oust him from companies he began and presides over?

Musk Outrages Journalists With Twitter Suspensions Over ‘Doxxing’

Journalists are fuming after Twitter CEO Elon Musk suspended several accounts Thursday evening over the ‘doxxing’ of his personal location. He called it a personal safety issue after the car his son was in was accosted by a “crazy stalker.”

Suspensions hit Donie O’Sullivan of CNN, the Washington Post’s Drew Harwell, Ryan Mac of the New York Times, former MSNBC commentator Keith Olbermann, and others.

Musk declared that “any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended,” calling it a “physical safety violation.” He added that posting the information on a delayed basis is not a threat and is permissible.

“Doxxing” is the intentional act of disclosing personal information about an individual that may threaten their safety.

Critics slammed the CEO for targeting those reporting on the account tracking his personal flights. Musk previously said he would allow the account to remain on Twitter, but that was before the attack on the vehicle carrying his son.

As criticism poured onto the billionaire entrepreneur, Musk wrote that the “same doxxing rules apply to ‘journalists’ as to everyone else.”

Shep Broad and my father were members of the Sonneborn Institute and they were very dear friends. When Shep returned from WW 2 he wanted my dad to practice law with him and dad, who was 4f, wanted to remain in Birmingham and fight the Klan and Bull Connor.

Shep and my father were involved in procuring and sending arms to Israel so the Israelis could defend themselves when the nation was established.

Shep became immensely wealthy, founded the Law Firm of Broad and Cassel and developed  Bay Harbor.  He was the Mayor, his son Morris, was the dog catcher. Broad Causeway is named after Shep.  Shep's daughter still lives in Bay Harbour, Morris was a member of Shep's Law Firm and passed away several years ago.

1. Sit down; I guarantee this Supreme Court story is real

By Mike Huckabee

The Supreme Court has  agreed  to  a hearing for a case that could  conceivably  ---  PLEASE   consider  this  the longest of long shots --- overturn the election of 2020,  throw out all  the legislators who voted to  certify the  results   and leave them  ineligible to run for office  ever again, even for  town  dogcatcher.

The  case has been added to the docket for, appropriately, January 6, 2023.

There’s essentially no media attention being given to this case; most news outlets find it much too hot to touch. But the heat  doesn’t faze us; we keep a pair of oven mitts close by for times like this.

As Joshua Philipp reported  in a podcast  for EPOCH T V , the case Brunson v. Alma Adams, et. al., alleges that members of Congress who voted against the proposed 10-day audit of the 2020 elections  and certifying those results ---  with no  investigation after being “properly warned” of a credible threat from enemies of the Constitution ---  were violating their oath of office  to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic.”  It says that “this action unilaterally violated the rights of every citizen of the U.S.A. and perhaps the rights of every person living, and all courts of law.”

If SCOTUS ruled  in favor of the plaintiffs, the remedy  would conceivably  involve removing the sitting President and Vice President and  all  those representatives  and empower the Court to authorize the swearing-in of the rightful President and Vice President.   Not kidding; that’s  the remedy the plaintiffs are asking for.

The Brunson brothers are an interesting group –-  literally a band of brothers, as they play in a trumpet band.  Here they are, with  their summary of  the suit, which was  reportedly written by just themselves, without legal counsel (! ).

https://ralandbrunson.com

Note: Philipp’s report was made before SCOTUS agreed to hear the case , and he said  then he would be “very surprised” if they did.  So I guess he’s very surprised right now.  Actually, I am, too, considering the way the  Court  refused to look into those very allegations  in the weeks after the election,  when they were brought by President Trump.  (Of course, now we know much more about the lengths to which Trump’s  enemies  went to interfere with the outcome.  Maybe  enough Justices are feeling some guilt right now about calling the issue “moot.” )

Philipp also pointed out that this segment of his show, “Crossroads,” would not be allowed  on YouTube.  ( Good news, though : he can now post the link on Twitter! )   We’ll include  the EPOCH TV link  here…

https://www.theepochtimes.com/ supreme-court-weighs-on-brunson-v-alma-case-that- could-overturn-2020-election_ 4907648.html

The argument in this case is that by not looking into serious allegations of election fraud, those who voted to confirm the results of the 2020 election broke their oath of office and are ineligible to run for any elected office again.  To give you an idea of the scope of the potential fallout,  Kamala Harris is in that group, and so is Mike Pence.

This started as two separate lawsuits brought by four brothers in Utah,  but only one of them is advancing to the Supreme Court.  To get it there, the brothers bypassed the 10th  Circuit Court of Appeals, where it was stalled, by saying  in a cover letter  that this suit was a matter of national security.  The Court was apparently so interested in this case that they received a personal call from the Court clerk asking  how soon they could get their documents together. The brothers got it all to them in one week.

The suit names President Biden, VP Harris, former VP Pence, and 385 members of Congress, and, no, that is not a typo.  Those are all the members who voted against a proposition for them to investigate claims that “ enemies of the Constitution rigged the 2020 election.” So, this case is NOT about whether or not election fraud occurred. It’s about whether or not these people violated their oath by failing to investigate credible allegations  of  election rigging by enemies of the Constitution –- allegations that  had been made by over  a hundred of their own colleagues.

I n their words: “Is this about a rigged election? N o,  t’s about the members of Congress who voted  AGAINST  the investigation, thereby thwarting the investigation. Was this a clear violation of their oath?  YES.”  The suit says this violation is an act of treason and fraud. “ A successfully rigged election has the same effect as an act of war: to place into power whom the victor wants, which in this case is Biden, who, if not stopped immediately, will continue to destroy the fundamental freedoms of Brunson and all U.S. Citizens and courts of law.”

“ When the allegations of a rigged election came forward, the Respondents had a duty under law to investigate it or be removed from office.”

According to Philipp,  a  finding for the plaintiffs would “also restore Trump to office because he would have been the legitimate candidate.” We’re not yet sure  how that  part of the  argument works  but are researching . Even if a majority of the Justices found merit in this case, would they be willing to do something this huge? They would be keeping in mind the potential consequences and, of course, possible effects on the balance of power.  If this happened, it would be the wildest things ever to happen with in our government --- a purge,  really,  which, I have to admit, sounds pretty great with the state our country is  currently  in . But you know the saying, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Here are some thoughts on the  case from  Timothy Canova , a professor of constitutional law at  the  Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law.

Netflix Going Woke and Broke as Advertisers Ask For Their Money Back

Netflix is still one of the biggest streaming platforms in the world and has 223 million paid subscribers. Though it’s experiencing some very serious problems and losing a lot of advertising money.

The reason is that Netflix is still coming in way below the number of viewers that it’s been promising advertisers. This is hitting its Basic Netflix which includes ads especially hard.

Why Is This Happening?

Specifically, Netflix is losing various advertisers who have only delivered 80% of the audience they expected. Ad execs have made their complaint clear: Netflix simply “can’t deliver” and is not up to scratch.

This year has not been a good one for Netflix, to say the least. The company lost over one million subscribers in 2022.

This was actually relatively good news for Netflix, which was worried about losing two million. They know they’re in trouble, but the company and its woke leadership under CEO Reed Hastings just can’t get its act together.

Netflix’s Woke Spiral

Back in its beginnings, Netflix had quite a bit to offer, but it’s gone downhill. So many of its programs are pushing far-left points of view, and that’s losing viewership.

The recent documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has already been panned by critics and audiences, most of whom feel it is manipulative, woke nonsense.

The streaming network has steadily pushed content that advances a specific progressive narrative. It has also rented out many old titles that are low quality in order to make more profits.

This, in addition to a large variety of awful serial killer films and horror spectacles, has steadily sunk the platform into lower and lower rating territory.

Listen to Elon

This past April, Twitter owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the “woke mind virus” had ruined Netflix and pointed to Netflix’s crashing stock at the time.

We’ve seen all sorts of shows on the platform that mock religion, family, traditional gender roles, and push the LGBT narrative on people who are not interested in it.

It’s clear that Netflix’s diversity rules have also put a cramp on quality. It’s not that there is something wrong with having a variety of characters and people of identities on your shows.

Though when you make that a requirement for even getting the show streamed and deciding what content you will host, it inevitably is going to cut into quality.

Netflix is finding out the hard way that if you put ideology over sound business practices, you end up paying a pretty stiff penalty. Viewers don’t want Marxist lectures and diversity seminars, they want entertainment.

The Bottom Line

People won’t just watch whatever you push at them. They have choices and tastes. Go woke, go broke.
