Florida Saves The Union. New Friendship. Prager. Bar Tab. Enemies.

I have developed a new friendship. He and his charming wife moved here recently from The Windy City .They both have very sharp legal minds . I happened to be chatting today with the husband who made some observations which I asked him to put in writing and I would post them. Here they are.

The search warrant for the search of former President Trump's residence at Mar-A-Lago listed 3 statutes for which the Department of Justice claimed they had probable cause may have been violated. One of the statutes was the Espionage Act (18 US Code Section 793). There are 6 subsections, all of which require a showing that the party in possession has documents or information "respecting the national defense with the intent or reason to believe that the information is to used to the injury of the United States, or to the advantage of any foreign nation". It is not sufficient to show that former President Trump had possession of documents, whether classified or not. The documents must involve "national defense" AND former President Trump must be shown to have had an "intent or reason to believe that the information is to be used to the injury of the United States, or the advantage of a foreign nation". Essentially, the Department of Justice is alleging that former President Trump intended to commit treason or sell national defense information and the affidavit submitted with the application for a search warrant (which Attorney General Garland opposes making public) must establish probable cause that a crime has been committed, not just a possibility. Further a search warrant must identify where is to be searched and what documents or property is to seized, with specificity. It is clear that the search warrant was defective and the Espionage Act was cited for sensational political effect. The fact that this condition to establishing a violation of the Espionage Act has not been reported by most of the mainstream media or cable networks indicates an intent to deceive the public. P---

And:

I also have another dear friend, a very astute business man who is now retired, is very liberal, hates Trump and believes he will eventually be convicted of everything beginning with illegal banking involving Russian laundered money and then it escalates from there.

I no longer argue because it is futile and he is unwilling to allow that Hillary committed far greater security threats and issues yet was always given a Pass Go because "what difference does it make when you are among the elite crowd even if you are an ole corrupt lying hick from Arkansas who went to Yale.

That she brazenly allowed Russia to load up the truck with nuclear fuel while Secretary of State and then her husband, good "ole Bill, was paid big bucks to speak seems not to bother my friend. That she sold her office no less egregiously than the "big man" while in cahoots with his son simply is lost in translation, as it were.

The way to win a discussion, Democrat style, is be deaf to everything you hear while expecting every thing you say to dominate. and drop like earls from your mouth. Democrats are not Donkeys they are turtles who retract into their thick shells.

I truly enjoy my liberal friend and we are close I would say. There is something calming being around a turtle. They never get unhinged.. They simply retreat into the comfort of their shell and emerge when the air has cleared.

What's new?  Everything involving Trump turns partisan.

There is no effort to be objective when you are driven by

hatred.

Georgia Investigation into Trump Goes Partisan

By Erick-Woods Erickson

The Fulton County District Attorney investigating Donald Trump is turning the investigation into a partisan event designed to help Democrats in Georgia.

First, she held a fundraiser for the Democrats’ Lt. Gubernatorial nominee while investigating the Republican nominee for the same job. Now, after agreeing to let Governor Brian Kemp provide a sworn video statement to the Grand Jury, she’s canceled it and demanded the Governor appear before the Grand Jury under a subpoena.

Gov. Kemp has filed a 131-page motion to squash the subpoena. In it, he notes that he handed over 137,000 pages of documents and agreed to the video statement. But the DA abruptly canceled the statement on the day it was to be given and now wants to haul him to court in the middle of the election. Let me bring you up to speed on how the Democrats have turned this from a fact-finding mission into an effort to help Stacey Abrams. Take a listen.
