Hanging In There With Trump As America's Fate Hangs In The Balance. Yes, Trump May Fib and Obama Lied. However, Trump Statistics Do Not.

Hamilton: The Man Who Invented America

Alexander Hamilton: You know the name, but what do you know about the man? Joseph Tartakovsky, senior fellow at the Claremont Institute, details how Hamilton took a country with no past and envisioned its future.

Trump may fib. Obama certainly did. However,Trump's figures do not lie!

Those who truly take the time to know me and/or read what I write and ask me what I mean if they do not quite understand, should know, by now, I am extremely cynical, anything but PC so maybe they will understand why I react, as I do, when I hear constant berating of Trump's boorish behaviour, about his constant popping off and egregious stretching of the truth.

We finally have a president who is a superb match and thus, can hold his own. GW looked into Putin's eyes and saw blue and did not comprehend the tribal hatred that, to this day, divides The Muslim/Arab world. Obama believed if you feed a bully his appetite is sated and he lied constantly. Only Reagan seemed to understand what he was up against when it came to Russia because he knew the game of poker.  Kennedy did not understand Khrushchev and misjudged Castro. Carter was naive and a disaster in foreign matters. Johnson thought he could run a war from The Oval Office and begged for his Generals to lie to him which they did as they saluted. Bush 41 orchestrated a brilliant war against Saddam but felt compelled to end short of ridding the world of this tyrant and maybe was right. Clinton acted slowly in Serbia and liked having his ego stroked as well as other body parts. Nixon was an insecure genius who fell on his own tongue.

Then along comes Trump. The risk taking, brash pragmatic real estate developer who loves America and believes has lived too long being taken for the fool we have been and decides it is time to get in the ring and slug away with lead lined gloves, if need be. His ego, which is as big as some of his edifices, may ultimately prove his undoing (we have evidence that happened with FDR who got hoodwinked by Uncle Joe and Eleanor, who had a special feeling for Communists.)

However, for the moment, world leaders are confused, seem to be doing a good bit of what Trump has asked of them and has those who truly are dangerous to world peace wondering is he as untrustworthy as they know themselves to be. Does he really mean what he says or is he another bluffing blowhard?

When dealing with thieves playing by Queensbury Rules is a fool's game. We have tried that and basically allowed ourselves to be plucked clean. By being patsies we have actually encouraged and, then,  allowed our allies to take advantage of us and, as Trump said about China, we have ourselves to blame, not them.

So, Trump may not be the President I would want to have tell a bed time story to my grandchildren but I certainly am glad to have him policing my street.  There comes a time when taking no more s---- is the right course of action unless you have acquired a taste for same. Consequently, if  that means it takes an unorthodox president, I say let's give it a try because our ship of state has been leaking,  taking on water and is listing.

If this does not accord with Bret Stephens' views about national character so be it because, frankly, we lost our rugged American character in the '60's and, as we became wealthy we also became flaccid and, from all appearances, seem to be raising  a generation of kneeling, whining, overly sensitive, confused  wimps who are un-schooled in what it really means to be an American.  Talk about s----. They do not have a clue about what our Constitution is all about,  They haven't a "smidgen" of an idea about what it means to sacrifice so that everyone can speak their mind even it "offends" their precious sensibilities.

And yes, Trump is right when he attacks those in the mass media who engage in "fake news."  He is not attacking freedom of speech, the significant role of the mass media.  He is going after those who destroy the public's need to rely upon a free and objective press and media. If Trump haters cannot parse the difference then they too are part of the problem about which they complain.

Sure, I wince when Trump is Trump, but I have to balance the fact that he is my president and I will judge him based on what he and his Administration accomplishes. So far it adds up to some amazing statistics.  There will come a time when the bump from the tax cut will subside and The Fed's increase in rates and withdrawing liquidity will become a potential problem and we will see how Trump crosses that bridge.

Meanwhile, he wants to seal our borders from hordes seeking what we have and doing so by disrespecting our laws which need to be updated. He told Congress they must address this issue head on.  He has not threatened to act in an unconstitutional manner because he has a pen and a cell phone. When an insane killer assassinated Jews in a synagogue he brought the entire federal legal apparatus to bear.  That is not Hitler-ism but that was what we heard ad nauseum from the likes of Trump Haters, as personified by Jane Fonda's recent tripe.

So Tuesday we shall see which direction voters want to take our country.  We are at a significant cross road.

I am sticking with the guy we elected to lead the orchestra based on the music I have been hearing from his band and not the cacophony from his detractors who offer nothing but vile and vituperate banalities. that fall short of logical solutions.

You don't have to agree with me but if that "ain't clear" then all I can say is "bless your soul!"

Meanwhile:

Obama and Stacey Abram's friend attacks America all the way from Iran. (See 1 below.)

A sign of mature judgement is an ability to rid one's self of past prejudices, even when justified, and make a decision based on current circumstances and facts.  Ridding oneself of mental barnacles is not easy.

In the case of American Jews, far too many cannot disconnect their historical  bonds to the Democrat Party which has radically altered itself. Particularly is this so when it comes the Party's support of Israel.

In the case of black Americans, far too many still seek retribution for all the wrongs done to them by The Democrat Party which favored segregation and opposed Civil Rights Legislation and which their own Sen. Moynihan predicted pursued policies which would destroy their families, break their church affiliations, keep them dependent upon government subsidies and then promoted Affirmative Action policies which elevated their opportunities yet failed to prepare them.

When it comes to their political affiliation, both groups seem driven by crippling emotional infantilism.  Their slavish behaviour and allegiance is difficult to explain on a rational basis and leads  to validate the power of emotion.

I see nothing this election will do that suggests this mental enslavement will end because as long as Trump remains their pinata they will continue to be discomforted by anything he says or does.

Farrakhan Leads ‘Death to America’ Chant in Iran

Notorious anti-Semite and leader of the Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan led Iranians in the chant “Death to America” while on a solidarity visit to the Islamic Republic, reported The Algemeiner.
The visit came ahead of the re-imposition of crushing U.S. sanctions against Iran scheduled to go into effect today, November 5.
The event featuring Farrakhan was held on Sunday, November 4, the 39th anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979.
Farrakhan also led the crowd in the chant “Death to Israel.” He recently referred to Jews as the “synagogue of Satan” and “termites.”
Crushing new U.S. sanctions will hit Iran’s oil, energy and shipping sectors, as well as the country’s financial markets.
Farrakhan has been feted in the U.S. by prominent women “activists” including sharia-apologist Linda Sarsour and her co-chair of the Women’s March on Washington, Tamika Mallory, who praised Farrakhan as GOAT (Greatest of All Time).
Sarsour has appeared with Farrakhan at an event and refused to condemn him.
Referring to America as the “enemy,” Farrakhan declared in Iran, “America has never been a democracy.”
“I understand how the enemies have plotted against the Iranian people and I would like to stay alongside you to stop their plots,” Farrakhan said at a meeting with an Iranian government ministers, according to the Iranian news outlet Mehr.
Farrakhan ripped into America’s support for Saudi Arabia, Iran’s mortal enemy, declaring, “Satan [America] seeks to divide Muslims and wants them to kill each other, while God tells us in the Quran to be united.”
Speaking to students at the University of Tehran’s law school, Farrakhan railed against Israel, praised women’s rights in Iran and lauded the mandatory hijab rule in the Islamic Republic.
Trump’s new sanctions against Iran come at the same time as the U.S. scales back its military presence in the Middle East in line with foreign policy promises Trump made while campaigning for president.
For the first time in twenty years, as of last March, the U.S. has no aircraft carrier strike group in the Persian Gulf. In addition, the U.S. is cutting the number of its Patriot missile-defense systems in the Middle East.
While Trump hits Iran economically – aiming to curtail all Iranian oil exports, according to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo – analysts say he is empowering U.S. allies Israel and Saudi Arabia militarily to keep Iran in check in Syria and Yemen, respectively.
This frees America’s military assets to concentrate on threats from Russia and China, according to commentators.
Trump’s intention in the Middle East is to help America’s allies by choking off Iran’s source of funding for its foreign wars, thereby crippling Iran’s ability to wreak havoc in the Middle East.
