Dick Berkowitz, has written a booklet entitled:"A Conservative Capitalist Offers: Eleven Lessons and a Bonus Lesson for Raising America's Youth Born and Yet To Be Born" Half The Proceeds Go To "The Wounded Warrior Project!"

By Dick Berkowitz - Non Expert

Dick wrote this booklet because he believes a strong country must rest on a solid family unit and that Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" has morphed into "A Confused, Dependent and Compromised Generation."

He  hopes this booklet will provide a guide to alter this trend.

You can now order a .pdf version from www.brokerberko.com/book that you can download and read on your computer, or print out if you want. Cost is $5.99

In several weeks the book will be available in soft cover format at a cost of $10.99.

Booklet illustrations were by his oldest granddaughter, Emma Darvick, who lives and works in New York.

Testimonials:

Dick, I read your book this weekend.  I hardly know where to start.  You did an excellent job of putting into one short book a compendium of the virtues which only a relatively short time ago all Americans believed.  It’s a measure of how far we have fallen that many Americans, perhaps a majority of Americans, no longer believe in what we once considered truisms.  I think your father would have agreed with every word, but the party he supported no longer has such beliefs.

I would like to buy multiple copies of your booklet..
You did a great job.  I know your parents would have been proud and that your family today is proud.
Mike

You wrote a great book.  The brevity is one of its strong points and I know it was hard to include that in and still keep it brief.  Your father in haste once wrote an overly long letter to our client, then said in the last sentence, “I’m sorry I wrote such a long letter, but I didn’t have time to write a short one.”

"Dick, I indeed marvel at how much wisdom you have been able to share with so few words.  Not too unlike the experience in reading the Bible. I feel that with each read of "A Conservative Capitalist Offers:…." one will gain additional knowledge and new insights…

Regards, Larry"

Dick ,
Your book is outstanding! Due to illness, I've been unable to read it in entirety until today .Your background is often very similar to mine (e.g. Halliburton's influence was very important in my life), and your thoughts reflect very closely the the teachings that I received from my parents and granddad. I will write a more detailed statement in the near future!
All the best,  Bob

Regarding your booklet, I have begun to read it and look forward to finishing it this weekend.  Congrats on getting it published and
on the great reviews.  I know how much this booklet means to you and how important getting this message out to the public is.

After much thought and reading, I believe, what we witnessed, as a result of the V.P debate, can be summed up as follows;

Regarding Ryan, we saw the second member of the Romney team come across serious, sincere, undeterred and capable. Ryan's performance justifies and validates Romney's selection.

Regarding Biden, more smirky buffoonery from the number two matches the incompetence and the executive  un-professionalism of the Obama duet.

Just another reason to boot them out of office.
----
Why Lincoln?  Perhaps because they called him "Honest Abe," a commodity many Americans long for in our presidents as I have recently noted.  (See 1 below.)
---

The more I think about Biden's comments about: ' we need to calm down and recognize Iran is more isolated than ever.'

If isolation is Obama's goal then he has succeeded but I always thought we were going to stop Iran's nuclear progress which continues at an accelerating pace.

The larger point is that radical Islamists want to first, rid their region of American influence and second, they eventually want to take on the world and re-establish the Caliphate.

I understand radical Islamist rationale for the first because we have propped up regimes simply to have access to their oil but the money we have spent has also benefited their societies and our support of their leaders has produced mixed results.

That said, radical Islamists offer nothing but destruction, torture and slavery.  Witness the latest attack on a young girl activist  and what the Taliban did when they controlled Afghanistan in the past - destruction of a culture.

So if we wish to withdraw from the world, Obama's efforts at appeasement seem appropriate and eventually I have no doubt these policies will cause us to succumb to China over time as well.

If you believe that is the destiny you want for  America then elect Obama and Biden and we will move in that direction at an accelerating pace.

If, however, you believe there is a more appropriate and traditional role for America as a critical leader of Western Civilization then I suggest Romney and Ryan are a more fitting a choice.

The key point that you must wrestle with and resolve  pertains to radical Islamist's desire for their region to be totally unto themselves and void of American influence!  Give in and such will become viral and it will eventually lead to us becoming just another former great pitiful giant on the world's stage.

The likes of Thomas, Sowell, West etc, are anathema to  Democrats because they are the antithesis of the kind of black voter they have corralled.

Consequently, they are doing everything they can to defeat Col. West.

I just sent him a modest check and invite all to do so.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------1)Fourscore and 16,000 Books

[image]Photo Illustration by John Euland; Corbis (Lincoln)
The national obsession with Abraham Lincoln has gone into overdrive with a Steven Spielberg movie and 20 new books coming soon.
In the midst of reading "Lincoln," a definitive biography of Abraham Lincoln some 15 years ago, historian David Von Drehle was struck with an unfathomable idea: He would write a biography about Abraham Lincoln, too.
No matter that roughly 16,000 books have already been written about the 16th president. Mr. Von Drehle believed there was still more to say.
"My first reaction was, 'This is crazy,' but it really was the thing I'd wanted to do since I was a kid," Mr. Von Drehle says. "People may have written a lot of books about Abraham Lincoln, but no one has written the book that I wrote."
On Oct. 30, Henry Holt & Co. will publish Mr. Von Drehle's biography, "Rise to Greatness: Abraham Lincoln and America's Most Perilous Year." It focuses exclusively on the year 1862, when the president lost his 11-year-old son to typhoid, took command of the Union army, turned the tide of the war and, on Jan. 1, 1863, issued the Emancipation Proclamation.
Mr. Von Drehle isn't alone in his Lincoln obsession. "Rise to Greatness" is just the latest in an avalanche of coming Lincoln works. On Nov. 16, Steven Spielberg's highly anticipated movie "Lincoln," based on the Doris Kearns Goodwin biography "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln," will hit theaters.

And at least 20 more books about the president will be published before next summer. They range from the mainstream—"Lincoln: A President for the Ages," which is aimed at complementing the movie—to the narrow—"The Hypo: The Melancholic Young Lincoln," a graphic novel based on Lincoln's battle with depression. "Lincoln's Forgotten Friend, Leonard Swett," looks at the president's relationship with an otherwise forgettable Maine lawyer, while a new "Abraham Lincoln" by Alan Sked examines whether Lincoln in fact deserves his status as a national hero.
To illustrate the volume of existing Lincoln works, the Ford's Theatre Center for Education and Leadership in Washington created a three-story, 34-foot tower sculpture out of Lincoln titles, meant to "symbolize that the last word about this great man will never be written," according to the center.
What is it about Abraham Lincoln? Publishers say he possesses a perfect confluence of salable qualities, reaching both Civil War buffs and those interested in general military history. Readers of historical biography are also crazy about him, because he led the country through what many believe was its most decisive moment. He even attracts those who don't usually read biographies because he embodies the enduring belief that any American, no matter his or her background, can reach the highest echelons of power.
"He saved the American dream, and he lived the American dream," says Harold Holzer, a Lincoln historian who has written and edited 42 books about the man.

Lincoln was famously raised in a log cabin with little education and rose to the highest office in the land. As president, he ended slavery and held the Union together.
His assassination, only five days after the end of the Civil War, on Good Friday, remains one of the most dramatic tragedies in American history. "The way his story ends, if it weren't true, you would never get away with writing it as fiction," Mr. Von Drehle says.
Plus, both political parties can claim him, since he was a Republican who represented what later became Democratic Party ideals. The past four presidents have all said they revere Lincoln and look to him for guidance.
And despite the volume of ink spilled on his behalf, Lincoln remains somewhat unknowable. Scholars continue to debate how and when he came to the decision to end slavery.
Biographers have so deeply mined Lincoln's life already that entire books are focused on obscure details. "The Taste Is in My Mouth a Little," published in 2004, examined what Lincoln ate and drank. "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln" in 2006 focused on Lincoln's sexuality and whether or not he was gay, while "Lincoln's Animal Friends," a children's book published in 1958, tells stories about the president and animals, according to Daniel Weinberg, owner of the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop in Chicago.
All that hasn't stopped a new crop of writers from exploring the man.
Ms. Goodwin, the "Team of Rivals" author, says she was at first daunted by a figure that had been so thoroughly appraised.
"It was so scary to write about a man about whom 14,000 books had been written," she says. During a decade of research, she filled an entire wall in her library with Lincoln books and got to know a subculture of Lincoln scholars who had devoted their whole lives to studying him.
Ultimately she found her way in by focusing on the relationship between Lincoln and his cabinet. "The material was so rich. They wrote so many letters and kept diaries," she said. "They gave a perspective on Lincoln that could be fresh as a result."
Unearthing new material is not a prerequisite for publishers to buy yet another book on Lincoln. "No one is going to discover a trunk full of letters by Lincoln in someone's attic," says Eric Foner, historian and professor at Columbia University. "New interpretations, new approaches, that's what makes the study of history go forward."

Mr. Von Drehle's book—a short narrative that weaves a dramatic, almost cinematic tale—doesn't reveal any new facts about Lincoln but argues that 1862 was the critical year of Lincoln's life, and the Civil War.
"My contribution is structural—I'm trying to have the reader experience the year, day by day, as Lincoln experienced it as a father, a husband, a general, a diplomat, a politician, a depression victim," Mr. Von Drehle says.
John Sterling, Mr. Von Drehle's editor at Henry Holt, says the publishing house is printing 100,000 copies, which is considered high for a biography. "Good Lincoln books have been perennial best sellers," says Mr. Sterling. "We feel this book has that potential."
Several Lincoln biographies have been blockbusters. "Team of Rivals," published in 2005, sold more than 1.3 million copies, according to Nielsen BookScan (which doesn't report e-book sales). "Lincoln" by David Herbert Donald, who is considered a titan among Lincoln scholars, has sold well over 100,000 copies since it was published in 1995, as did 2008's "Tried by War: Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief" by James McPherson. "Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer" by James L. Swanson sold about 375,000 copies, according to BookScan.
Publishers are marveling over Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's "Killing Lincoln," which has been flying off the shelves with its thrillerlike take on history. Since it was published last year, it has sold more than two million copies, according to its publisher, Henry Holt.
"There are so many Lincoln geeks that buy everything new that comes out," says Cathy Langer, the lead book buyer at the Tattered Cover Book Store in Denver. She adds that in her years as a buyer, she has rarely turned down a title about the 16th president.
Even books that aren't about Lincoln often use his name in the title as a selling point as well as a destination for search engines. Mr. Holzer, the historian, says he wrote a book he called "The Great Secession Winter." His publisher suggested it be called "Lincoln President-Elect: Abraham Lincoln and the Great Secession Winter 1860-1861" so that it would come up on an Amazon search.

"The Lincoln canon is exhaustive, but it's inexhaustible," says Mr. Holzer. "And the amazing thing is that every important book inspires three more in the way of commentary or disagreement or embellishment."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------2)Las Vegas Oddsmaker Explains Why He Predicts Romney Landslide

On May 30th, I made a prediction that shocked the readers of TownHall. I predicted a Romney landslide- with Obama leading in every poll.
I did not make that prediction as a political columnist, or as the former Libertarian Presidential contender, or the 2008 Libertarian Vice Presidential nominee. I relied on my career as a Las Vegas oddsmaker. Long before I got into politics, I started out as the Network Oddsmaker and NFL Analyst for CNBC (then known as Financial News Network). I've made my living for the past 27 years predicting the winners of sporting events, like the Super Bowl and March Madness. I did it well enough to be awarded my own 180 pound granite star on Las Vegas Blvd- the only oddsmaker ever inducted into the Las Vegas Walk of Stars (along with Vegas legends such as Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Wayne Newton, Dean Martin, Liberace, and Sammy Davis Jr).
But it's my political predictions that have turned heads in the national media.
In November of 2004, only days before the Presidential election, I went on CNBC and predicted a Bush victory by 3 points and 30 electoral votes. Every poll at the time showed Kerry in the lead. Bush won by 3 and 35. Newsmax called it the most accurate prediction of the 2004 Presidential election.
In October of 2006, I went on Fox News to predict the GOP would get slaughtered in the midterm election and lose Congress. They did.
In December 2011, before the GOP primary, I predicted Mitt Romney would win the GOP Presidential nomination and go on to win the Presidency. For the next few months, Romney trailed by a wide margin to a range of contenders- Donald Trump, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum. It seemed no one wanted Mitt for President. It seemed no one believed in Mitt. No one, that is, except this Las Vegas oddsmaker and capitalist evangelist.
Fast forward to May 2012 after Romney clinched the GOP Presidential, but trailed in every poll to President Obama. I boldly predicted a Mitt Romney landslide here at TownHall.
Fast forward to June 2012, when experts forecast a defeat for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in his recall election. Unions were pouring unheard of sums into the race in a longtime Democratic state that welcomes union rights. I boldly predicted a Walker landslide victory of 7 to 10 points right here at TownHall. He won by exactly 7 (despite reported Democratic voter irregularities).
For the past month, as Mitt Romney trailed badly in every poll, especially the all-important battleground states, I continued to predict a big Romney victory. Why? Based on pure gut instincts. This election is Reagan/Carter all over again. And I always believed the results would be the same: a Reagan-like landslide.
Today I’m making it official:
Mitt Romney will win the Presidency, and it won’t be close.
I’m predicting a 5 to 7 point popular vote victory. With an outside shot at 10 points. Electorally it won’t be that close. Romney will win many states that went to Obama in 2008. I’m predicting Romney victories in Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Indiana. I predict a Romney victory by 100 to 120 electoral votes.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Romney even wins one or two Democratic "safe states" like Michigan, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. On election night, Democrats will be in shock and mourning as the results come in.
In the days before the first Presidential debate, polls showed Romney trailing badly in most of those states. But, as I’ve argued from day one, the polls were always wrong. They are badly skewed towards Democrats. Quite simply they are over-polling Democratic voters and assuming a turnout that looks like 2008, when record numbers of Democrats came out for Obama. The turnout on November 6th will look nothing like 4 years ago.
Here are several specific reasons I predict a comfortable Romney victory on election day:
· The news media is ignoring signs of mass revulsion towards Obama. In the West Virginia Democrat primary, a felon got 40% of the vote versus Obama. In deep blue Massachusetts and Connecticut, GOP Senate candidates are even, or leading in recent polls. In pro union Wisconsin, Walker won by a country mile. But worst of all for Mr. Obama, several recent polls show Romney competitive in Illinois- Obama’s home state. Romney is actually winning by a landslide in the suburbs of Obama’s Chicago. Even in Cook County, the country’s biggest Democratic stronghold, Romney leads by double digits among independents (43-31) and white voters (53-40). These are very bad signs for Obama.
· In 2008 Democrats overwhelmingly controlled the majority of Governorships. Today Republicans control the majority of Governorships. Presidential elections are always steered in each state by the Governor- the most powerful force in state politics.
· After the 2010 census, electoral votes were added to states that lean Republican in elections: Texas, Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, South Carolina, and Utah. Deep blue Democrat states like New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, and Massachusetts lost electoral votes.
That brings up an interesting point. Why is everyone running away from these ultra liberal, high tax states in the first place? Isn’t that alone proof of the failure of Democrat ideas?
· Next, follow the money trail. Yes, Obama is raising plenty of money, although there is a major question if it's coming from illegal foreign contributors. But forget all that. What matters is that in 2008 Obama overwhelmed McCain by out-spending him 10 to 1 down the stretch. That won’t happen in 2012. Romney is even, or can out-spend Obama, in the last 2 weeks of the election. That makes a huge difference in the outcome.
· Christians will turn out in record numbers this year. Obama has offended Christians again and again. Last election 20 million evangelical Christians did not vote. They will turn out in record numbers in 2012 to defeat the most anti-Christian President in U.S. history. How motivated are Christians? Did you see the long lines around the country to support Chick-fil-A a few weeks ago? I predict you’ll see those same lines on election day. It's time to stand up to a man destroying our values, killing jobs, fatally damaging our economy, and abandoning Israel. Christians have had enough of turning the other cheek.
· Voter rolls have been purged in 2012 of felons and illegals in many states- particularly Florida and Ohio. Turnout of Democrats will be nothing like 2008.
Which brings up another important question. What kind of political party relies on felons and illegals to win elections? The Democratic Party of Barack Obama.
· The “Enthusiasm Factor” for Romney is huge. Conservatives are focused, intense, motivated, and enthusiastic. Democrats turned out for Obama in record numbers in 2009. Today they are demoralized. A big edge goes to Romney on Election Day as conservatives, white voters, middle class voters and independents turn out in record numbers for Romney.
I know several people who voted for Obama in 2008, but never again. Does anyone know a McCain voter who will vote for Obama in 2012? There are none.
. Jewish voters are not a large percentage of the electorate, but their numbers are important in places like Florida and Ohio. Democrats will be shocked at the Jewish vote totals on election day. If I know 100 Jews...the vote breakdown was around 80% for Obama in 2008. Not this time. Obama has thrown Israel under the bus and treated Netanyahu with disrespect. This time around it's about 50% to 55% with my 100 Jewish friends. That's enough of a change to tip a few key states like Florida and Ohio (and elect Josh Mandel U.S. Senator in Ohio).
· Finally, history proves that a majority of undecided voters break for the challenger. Romney will take most of the undecided voters on election day- just like Reagan did versus Jimmy Carter in 1980. Romney’s fantastic debate performance gave them confidence to choose the challenger.
This is Carter/Reagan all over again. The same horrible economy. The same economically ignorant fool in the White House bringing misery to Americans. The same economic collapse under the weight of socialist, pro union, soak the rich, demonize the business owners, policies.
I predict the same result on election day. Mitt Romney in a landslide.

Winds of Change....
*Congressional Reform Act of 2012*
Warren Buffet is asking
each addressee to forward
this email to a minimum of
twenty people on their
address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people
in The United
States of America will
have the message.
This is one idea that
really should be
passed around.
*Congressional Reform Act of 2012*

1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman/woman
collects a salary while in office
and receives no pay when
they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future)
participates in Social Security. All funds in the
Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately.
All future funds flow into the
Social Security system, and Congress
participates with the American people. It
may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase
their own retirement plan,
just as all Americans do.4. Congress will no longer
vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will
rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their
current health care system and
participates in the same health
care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws
they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 12/31/12. The American
people did not make this contract with
Congressmen/women.
Congressmen/women made all
these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career.
The Founding Fathers envisioned
citizen legislators, so ours should
serve their term(s), then go home and
back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum
of twenty people then it will
only take three days for
most people (in the U.S. )
to receive the message.
Don't you think it's time?

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

If you agree with the
above, pass it on. If not, just delete.

A new poll reports that Allen West is now trailing his liberal opponent by nine points!

It seems the relentless and overwhelming deluge of negative ads is taking a toll on Allen's campaign.

The Democrats are absolutely determined to destroy every single black conservative running for office this year.
