Star writes MLK would be disappointed:

Star's Column: Dr. King Wouldn't Recognize America Today

"This year, 2024, marks the 60th anniversary of the signing into law of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Soon we observe the national day set aside to note and honor the leader of the movement that led to that act becoming law: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We must ask how, after 60 years, with vast changes in the world, with developments in technology unimaginable 60 years ago, that we remain obsessed with race. How is it that claims of racism, injustice and unfairness persist like nothing happened?"

When it comes to what, so called American Justice, is now all about, it  seems we have returned to "witch hunts."  You may not like Trump but I doubt you would  want to be subjected to what he has been because it smacks of Nazism.

The attached Op Ed link by Bret Stephens was sent to me by one of our family's liberals. Bret is a very bright young man, often wrong, who writes well and sometimes drinks his own bathwater.

In the attached he failed to credit Trump for:

a) thinking outside the box regarding Israel which led to:

b) moving our embassy to Jerusalem and no war occurred as every president before him feared/predicted would happen.

c) Brought about The Abraham Accords because he thinks outside the box and is not crippled by "D.C think."

Bret also failed to mention Trump made us energy independent by allowing the industry to do what they do best, ie. find oil and devise new methods that produce more of it like slant drilling etc.

d) drilling more oil and selling it overseas served to keep a lid on our inflation, provided excellent paying jobs and reduced the imbalance in our trade deficit.

I could go on with some other matters Bret lightly alluded to or totally failed to mention but I hope you get my drift.

I would like to see DeSantis become president but, if not, Trump is better than Biden, is more entertaining, knows how to exit a stage and is willing to work for the pay and opulent benefits we pay our princely presidents.

If those who hate Trump and love Biden want to shove this failure down our throats again they are surely doing whatever they can to stop Trump , from campaigning, incarcerate him, though he is guilty of nothing other than boorishness, often bad judgement and you know the rest.

If, in fact, Biden is re-elected  it will probably hasten WW 3  sooner than otherwise because it appears an inevitable event. So let the music begin.

Biden has  learned well the sinister weaponization of politics. Consequently, when he attacks his adversaries, rest assured he is engaging in exactly what he is saying.

From what I can ascertain, Biden's reluctance to be bold is likely to accomplish what he has sought to avoid, an expanding war.

He broadcast, way in advance, his intentions so the Houithi's were able to remove troops as well as some sensitive  equipment etc.

Until Biden or Bibi attack Iran in a serious manner how many surrogates are killed is of little concern to Iran's Ayatollah's.
