The Republican Party Seems To Be Working Over Time At Becoming Extinct!

Historically Democrats do not believe in funding the military. Liberals would rather distribute money to various constituency groups because this buys votes and helps insure their capturing the presidency.

Then, when Republicans recapture The White House, they must rebuild the military and this allows Democrats to accuse Republicans of wasteful spending, of taking food from the poor and the list of hypocritical accusations is endless.

Sadly, Republicans lose their voice and either do not know how to respond or are afraid to do so just like they feared being tagged with shutting down the government because they are incapable of explaining by shifting the blame where it belongs.

For instance, what will the Repubs do regarding Scalia's death?  Will they cave to public pressure? Will they allow Obama to dictate their response and swing The Court to the left ?

Monday night, Allen West, in simple language, short and punchy sentences demonstrated responding in an understandable manner can be accomplished.

Why Republicans are incapable of  finding and using  the likes of Allen West to articulate their message and prefer coming up with Bobby Jindal, types is not only beyond me but is mystifying.  It is almost like Repubs enjoy shooting themselves in the foot and as long as they continue to do so they will lose winnable  elections and the nation will suffer as they appear ready to do once again.

The next affliction Repubs cause themselves is, even should they win, they immediately proceed to lose the advantage gained because they fail to legislate in a conservative manner and bring about change in accord with their principles.

Being a conservative and believing the logic of paying for what you want is preferable to creating debt which eventually will overwhelm you makes no sense and leaves me discouraged.  Watching the current crop of presidential candidates engage in  food fights is disheartening because you know it will end in wounded candidates,  turns off voters, is an absolute waste of time, money and missed opportunities. It is the perfect prescription for losing and even if your opponents are engaged in the same stupidity the press and media are more likely to highlight yours than that of  the Demwits.

Trump may be clever and know what he is doing to gain the nomination with his petulant banality but at some point I believe his temper tantrum style is going to bite him big time and he will find himself unable to recover and, in the process, he will bring some Senators and Congresspersons, in tough campaigns, down with him.

Bill Kristol disagrees with my concern about corralling Trump. (See 2 below.)

Nevertheless, I just cannot rid myself of the thought the Republican Party seems to be doing everything in their power to become extinct.

1)
Thomas Sowell
Amid the petty bickering, loud rhetoric and sordid attack ads in this year's primary election campaigns, the death of a giant -- Justice Antonin Scalia -- suddenly overshadows all of that.
The vacancy created on the Supreme Court makes painfully clear the huge stakes involved when we choose a President of the United States, just one of whose many powers is the power to nominate justices of the Supreme Court.
Justice Scalia's passing would be a great loss at any time. But at this crucial juncture in the history of the nation -- with 5-to-4 Supreme Court decisions determining what kind of country America will be -- Scalia's death can be catastrophic in its consequences, depending on who is chosen to be his successor.
Given the advanced ages of other justices, the next president is likely to have enough vacancies to fill to be able to shape the future of the court that helps shape the future of America.
Already many people are complaining that the America they grew up in, and loved, is being changed into something they can barely recognize. Record numbers are renouncing their American citizenship.
Meanwhile, people with high level experience in the military and in the intelligence services are warning us against extreme dangers in a world where our adversaries' military power and aggressiveness are increasing, while our military forces are being cut back.
Against this background, the frivolous rhetoric and childish antics in the televised political "debates" are painful to watch. If ever there was a time to choose a president with depth, rather than glitter or glibness, this is it.
Whatever the achievements of anyone in some other field, we cannot afford a novice in the complex world of politics and government at a time of grave dangers at home and internationally.
Some seem to think that Donald Trump's lead in the polls and in the New Hampshire primary make him the most electable candidate, even if he often acts like an overgrown spoiled brat.
But the fact that Trump leads in the polls does not mean that he is electable in the general election this fall. He is ahead only because the majority vote among Republicans has been split among so many other candidates.
Although Hillary Clinton is said to have been beaten badly in the Democrat's primary vote in New Hampshire, she still had a higher percentage of the Democrats' vote than Trump had of the Republicans' votes.
Unfortunately, the way the Republican primaries are set up, Trump can win all the delegates from some states without having to get a majority of the votes in any state. But in the general election in November, a candidate usually has to win a majority in a state, in order to win that state's votes in the Electoral College.
The Republicans can end up with a candidate who cannot even get a majority of Republicans' votes, much less a majority of the votes in the general population.
If, by some miracle, Trump became president, what kind of president would he be? Do we need another self-centered know-it-all in the White House to replace the one we have now?
Among the other Republican candidates, Dr. Ben Carson is a monumental figure in his field, and he is clearly revered even by people who would not vote for him. But votes are how elections are decided.
The governors among the Republican candidates can at least be judged by how their track record stands up in running a governmental organization. So can Senator Ted Cruz, who was attorney general in Texas. But Senator Marco Rubio has no comparable experience -- and his inexperience has shown up in his abortive attempt to join Democrats in promoting amnesty.
If the Republicans are to avoid having Donald Trump lead them -- and the country -- to disaster, they are going to have to have the majority of non-Trump supporters get behind some given candidate.
Senator Ted Cruz has been criticized in this column before, and will undoubtedly be criticized here again. But we can only make our choices among those actually available, and Senator Cruz is the one who comes to mind when depth and steadfastness come to mind.
As someone who once clerked for a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he will know how important choosing Justice Scalia's replacement will be. And he has the intellect to understand much more.

2) Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol Makes the Case for Donald Trump
n_mj_bill_131002

The Weekly Standard’s Bill Kristol is spitting-mad that the Republican Establishment won’t fight. He’s outraged no one will take on Trump. Among others, Kristol names Jeb Bush, George W. Bush, John Kasich,  Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Dick Cheney. Published Monday night and titled “No Outrage,” Kristol writes, “Once upon a time we had leaders who would have expressed their outrage at such a slander. They would have demanded evidence… Receiving none, they would have denounced and excoriated him.”
Hey, Bill, welcome to our world, where again and again and again the Establishment rolls over like whipped dogs as the DC Media and President WrightAyersdestroy our country.
Isn’t this the bottom line…
If the Establishment won’t fight Trump over something as big as this with all of the media on their side, they surely won’t fight Hillary with all of the media onher side, which means they are going to LOSE;  which means the legacy and executive actions of President WrightAyers are all going to become the settled law of the land, which means Justice Antonin Scalia will be replaced by Justice WrightAyers.
This is a risk we simply cannot take.
We need a nominee who is going to win, and that means nominating someone who will do whatever it takes to win.
Never allow yourselves to forget that in 2012, Team Obama accused Mitt Romney of murder and of not paying his taxes for 10 years. Both bald-faced, outrageous lies. And the DC Media not only let them get away with it, the media delighted in the attacks.
This is the world in which we now live, this is today’s political landscape, these are the battle rules, and for the sake of our country we must nominate someone who understands this. Through his ruthless attacks against both Republicans and Democrats, Trump has already proven he gets it.
Trump fights like a leftist.
Trump fights like Obama.
Jeb Bush attacks Trump with tens of millions of negative ads, Trump goes right after Jeb’s family.
Ted Cruz attacks Trump with millions in negative ads, Trump goes right after Cruz’s integrity, faith, and eligibility.
But here’s the kicker… Something our useless, cowardly Establishment has already promised they will never do
Hillary Clinton attacks Trump as sexist, Trump rips her throat out by bringing up Bill and Hillary’s female victims. The result is not only that Trump stands as the one person in 25 years to effectively fight past the Clintons’ Media Palace Guards and leave a mark, Hillary actually shut her lying mouth.
Here’s another blast from the past…
In 2008, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was willing to gut Mitt Romney, but he wouldn’t touch Barack Obama’s disqualifying past.
In 2012, Mitt Romney was willing to gut Rick Perry, but he couldn’t or wouldn’t prosecute Benghazi.
Time and again and again our Establishment nominees have proven themselves perfectly capable of attacking their own, only to then fold like a cheap suit in the general election. The DC Media creates rules specifically designed to ensure Republicans lose, and our loser Republicans always play by them.
Not Trump.
The Establishment won’t fight, you say?
Well, no shit.
You’re just figuring that out now?
Probably, from somewhere deep within his patriotic sub-conscious, for the sake of America, Bill Kristol finally decided it was time to make the case against the Establishment.
Regardless, by exposing the truth about this hopelessly feckless group of serial-losers, that is exactly what he did.
