Re-Elect Meg Heap!

===
MEG HEAP is running and deserves to be re-elected.  Why? Because she has been superb;
In four years, Meg has accomplished a great deal in her first term, and has a clear idea of the course she intends to chart for her second term.  She has brought back a number of experienced prosecutors who left during her predecessor's term in office and in doing so has cut the backlog of untried cases by over 60%. Through collaboration with local law enforcement and social agencies, she has helped develop a number of outreach programs for community youth, such as the "Youth Intercept Program"which partners with the school system to identify at-risk students and "The Summer Law Program:" a two-week intensive summer day camp providing life skills classes, mentoring and mock trial training.  The list goes on, including: the requirement of our State Parole Board to provide greater transparency regarding the potential release of violent criminals back into our community. Jennifer's murderers stand to serve about the same amount of time as Willie Doyle .

Meg's re-election campaign began Thursday, February 4, with her announcement on the Courthouse steps. (Because I was in Athens I was unable to attend.) Given her great track record, it is hard to believe that anyone might want to run against  her. However, I am reliably informed a candidate with strong funding capacity is, indeed, being put forth.  We need to get our fundraising machine back in gear and  raise $30-40,000 by the end of this month...not an insubstantial sum but enough, perhaps, to discourage opposition. Qualifying happens during the first part of March, and if  known we have a good war chest in place, hopefully, that will discourage anyone else from throwing their hat into the ring.  Should Meg qualify with no opposition then we're done!

I am writing a check and  am asking you to consider making a contribution  (the maximum for the primary is $2500 per person), and sending it to::
Campaign to Re-Elect Meg Heap, District Attorney
22 West Bryan Street, Suite 143
Savannah, GA. 31401

If you are so inclined I would also appreciate if you would note you are doing so at my urging.

Thanks in advance for any consideration given this request.  Me
