Media Bias Blurs our Vision!

I am struck by the fact that recently we witnessed the need to humanize a decent and charitable  person who, for personal reasons, has chosen to do his good deeds outside the arena of public view.

I guess when a person enters the political world, and most particularly seeks the nation's top job, everything must be laid bare, placed on the table for all to see if he is Conservative. These same rules do not apply for Liberals.  Consequently, we only recently learned of the peccadilloes of Jack Kennedy for instance  and may never learn much about Obama.

This double standard has become something we are told we must live with and maybe that is our fate. Nevertheless, it still nettles my sense of fair play. It gnaws at my sense of balance that the fourth estate enjoys freedom's luxuries yet, many in the media seem to take this privilege for granted and, all too often, act with utter disregard, even contempt, for truth.

Theoretically, the job of the media is to protect the very freedom they enjoy and when they fail to live up to the challenge they bring into question not only our freedom but theirs.

Consequently, media bias places upon the citizens an extra burden of trying to become informed  so that our decisions will be the best both for our nation, ourselves and those who are destined to rule America in the future.

Yes, truth may be in the eyes of the beholder but tragically, bias has come to be the cataracts of the  media and causing a more blurred vision for us all.
