Billionaire Tells Fox That College Students Demonstrating Against Israel ‘Have Sh*t for Brains,’ Says He Won’t Give To Columbia Anymore
Hedge fund billionaire and Columbia graduate Leon Cooperman is displeased with his alma mater, telling Fox Business that college kids today have “shit for brains.”
His comments come as Israel is carrying out its military response to the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas, which killed 1,400 Israelis. Pro-Palestinian activists have staged demonstrations across the country – particularly on college campuses.
During an interview with Liz Claman on Wednesday, Cooperman also said he will stop giving to Columbia unless he sees a “change.”
“You are a proud graduate of Columbia Business School, class of 67, son of Polish Jewish immigrants, first in your family to graduate from college,” Claman noted. “What do you make of what’s happening at Columbia and Harvard, Stanford, NYU as well? There was a student walkout at Columbia just a couple hours ago, driven by Columbia professor Joseph Massad, who called the Hamas attack ‘awesome.’ Where are we in the world when 1,300 Israeli civilians–”
Cooperman interrupted.
“I think these kids at the colleges have shit for brains,” he said.
Claman seemed taken aback by the response. Cooperman continued.
“We have one reliable ally in the Middle East,” he said. “That’s Israel. We only have one democracy in the Middle East. That’s Israel, ok? And we have one economy tolerant of different people – gays, lesbians, etc. And that’s Israel. So, I have no idea what these young kids are doing.”
Cooperman went on to say he will stop donating to his alma mater.
“Now, the real shame is I’ve given to Columbia, probably about $50 million over many years,” he added. “And I’m going to suspend my giving. I’ll give my giving to other organizations.”
“Wow, that is a big statement,” Claman responded. “So, right here right now, you’re saying no more money to Columbia?”
“Yeah, unless I see a change,” he answered. “I told them that they should fire this professor that made the comments he made. I mean, war is hell. War is not good for anybody, but to praise what Hamas did is disgraceful, disgusting.”

Recent campus attacks on Jewish students are against the law. Their civil rights have been violated. Biden has done nothing.
Biden nominated a Jewish Iranian sympathizer as America's Ambassador to Israel who has a history of lying to Congress and favoring Iran over Israel. Jack Lew served in the Obama Administration and helped draft his JPCPOA Contract. With a friend like Biden who needs enemies.
Biden financed Iranian terrorism as well as Russia's efforts in Ukraine. Russia has been supplied with Iranian weapons being used in their war in the Ukraine. Biden looks the other way when Putin enriches Iran while we are seeking to assist Ukraine.
Obama and Biden have continued to hire Iranian sympathizers placing them in sensitive positions in their respective administrations. Bob Malley was recently relieved of his classified status because he was found funneling American tax payer dollars to Iran. A guest on Mark Levin's TV program likened Malley to Alger Hiss. Again, Biden looks the other way as he supports Iran.
The left wing of the Democrat Party has called for Israel to Cease their attack on Hamas which is akin to telling Israel they cannot defend themselves and eliminate Hamas which has been a continuing enemy for decades. Israelis living near Gaza have constantly been shelled by Hamas missiles. Would Texas tolerate such attacks?
Biden's open border policy could eventually result in another horrendous attack on American soil from radical Islamist terrorists. Why does Biden support terrorists?
As I type, Brooklyn Jews are being told to stay home as radical Hamas sympathizers have taken to the streets. Biden is at the beach.
American University Administrators have abdicated their obligations to make campus life safe and open to all students. The AG and Biden Administration remain silent.
