All Peoples Capable of Hatred. How Far Will A Compromised/Corrupt Biden Allow It To Go?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Last night (10/29) Lynn prepared dinner for some friends. Believe it or not, I never initiate the conversation, particularly if it involves politics.  I let my memos speak for themselves.

That said. the conversation began with our first guest telling me he was depressed. He, like myself is quite conservative,. Unlike me he is very bright and extremely well read. I acknowledged I too was saddened by what was going on but not surprised and knew it would happen one day but just did not know what would trigger it.

All peoples are capable of being hateful. The question for me is how far radical liberal Americans will allow themselves to destroy our nation with hatred and when  will decency respond?  If you believe Mark Levin, he has a very dire outlook.  As for myself,  as I have already written, I am glad anti-Semitism, and "kill Jews" is now out in the open.  There is a time when pus needs to be exposed and  lanced.

I would rather know where I stand with the haters and who they are than pussy foot around. I never doubted the previous street rioters were financed by the Soros ilk and now we know. The disruption on campuses of "elite universities" also reveals what I already suspected. They are run and governed by cowards, many of their departments are inhabited by communist advocates and many of their student bodies are influenced by a mixture of  radical blacks, fascist Islamists white elites. Education is wasted on them.

The question for me is how far our compromised/corrupt president will allow it to go.  Just as how passive he has been with respect to attacks by Iran surrogates on our military, will student deaths  become necessary before a response occurs or is triggered because that is where we are headed? After all, it happened previously on the campus of Kent State in Ohio and Cornell seems ripe.

I believe rioting student here on visas should be escorted back to their origin nations and those who are citizens should be jailed. Universities and colleges, who allow a segment of their student body to be made insecure because of threats to their persons, should be defunded. This will not happen because Biden is amoral, weak and controlled by the invisible hand of Obama surrogates and because the Department of Justice is run by apathetic AG

Apollo CEO Marc Rowan hits back at UPenn leadership after antisemitism on campus

By Charles Gasparino

Apollo CEO Marc Rowan’s plan to oust the leadership of his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, is picking up steam and could blow a $1 billion hole in the school’s fundraising efforts, the Post has learned.

Rowan’s attacks on the school stem from what he believes is an atmosphere of antisemitism, including administrators’ failure to quickly condemn the recent deadly Hamas terrorist attacks.

Now so many potential and current donors are joining his effort that the $21 billion UPenn endowment could be deprived of as much as $1 billion in funding, these people say.

And Rowan won’t back down unless Liz Magill and Scott Bok, the UPenn president and the chair of the school’s Board of Trustees, respectively, are booted from their positions — a very real possibility given the surge in alumni support for his defund-antisemitism effort.

The details of this groundswell of support for Rowan’s plan have not been reported, and it is said to be unprecedented in the clubby world of fundraising for university endowments.

For years, top alumni fundraisers like Rowan have chosen to voice their criticism of school policy to college administrators in private; high-profile alumni have traditionally stayed out of divisive cultural debates that occur on our nation’s campuses.

That might be changing given the rampant antisemitism on college campuses that exploded in recent weeks, and school administrators like Bok and Magill failing to promptly condemn both the terrorist attacks as well as their students’ displays of support for the killing of innocents.

For Rowan and now thousands of UPenn grads and benefactors, the tipping point occurred in September when UPenn’s leadership ignored their warnings that pro-Palestinian student groups were featuring anti-Semitic speakers during a “Palestine Writes Literature Festival.”

The festival took place during the Jewish high holy days and featured speakers who called for “death to Israel.”

People who know Rowan say he was doubly horrified to learn UPenn student groups also supported the Hamas terrorists who on Oct. 7 killed and kidnapped innocent Israelis — beheading some infants at a kibbutz near the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.

One of the worst atrocities in recent history occurred while school administrators remained initially silent.

That prompted an open letter demanding the resignations of Magill and Bok; Rowan accused the school’s leadership of fostering a climate of hate that condoned the violence and killing.

“I call on all UPenn alumni and supporters who believe we are heading in the wrong direction to close their checkbooks until President Liz Magill and Chairman Scott Bok resign,” he wrote.

The open letter has grown to include some 7,000 current and potential donors and graduates, some of whom are on the school’s Board of Trustees, people close to Rowan tell me.

They include UPenn grads Ron Lauder of the Estée Lauder cosmetics empire.

Former US Ambassador to China and Russia Jon Huntsman, whose family are long-time donors to the university, joined the donor boycott as well.

Rowan has also accused Bok, who is chairman of the investment bank Greenhill & Co., of going to Penn’s Board of Trustees in an effort to remove four board members who signed his letter.

Press officials from UPenn had no comment.

A decision to oust Bok and Magill will be up to the 60-member UPenn board, and it’s unclear if there is, at least for now, the stomach to do so.

A dangerous foe

That said, Rowan’s background in finance highlights why he’s such a dangerous opponent.

He’s a graduate of UPenn’s prestigious Wharton School of Business and his estimated net worth is close to $6 billion.

His Rolodex of rich people is among the best on Wall Street, which means that without him, UPenn will be deprived of a significant funding source.

Don’t believe me? Consider: In 2018, he and his wife donated $50 million to the school.

A press release announcing the gift described Rowan as “chair of Wharton’s Board of Overseers, a Penn trustee, and co-chair of the school’s More than Ever fundraising campaign,” which is looking to raise $1 billion for the business school.

In 2019, the school boasted that the fundraising drive is “80% of the way to its historic target.”

People on Wall Street who know Rowan say his efforts have certainly shaken UPenn’s leadership, with Bok and Magill calling alumni and board members in an effort to keep their jobs.

“Penn will lose hundreds of millions of dollars unless those guys are fired,” one private equity official told me.

This column has addressed the lame response our virtue-signaling CEO class mounted, and why, to the massacre near Gaza. So kudos to Rowan for standing up.

Yet, as much as you want to root for him and the others, you also have to ask what took them so long.

Long before CEOs of major American public companies embraced wokeism at the office, the progressive left thoroughly infiltrated some of our most prestigious universities.

Far-left faculty members have been indoctrinating students on lies that America is systemically racist and Israel is a partner in our alleged attempts to colonize the Arab world.

Free thinkers on campuses are routinely silenced and canceled.

The end result is what we are seeing now: College kids brainwashed into rationalizing and even romanticizing the wanton murder of Jews by terrorists.

Anatomy of a Biden family ‘coverup’ executed by our own FBI and DOJ

By Miranda Devine

It's '1984' all over again in Biden's 'Police State'

Closed door testimony by former Pittsburgh US Attorney Scott Brady to the Judiciary Committee last week is a chilling case study of how credible corruption allegations against Joe Biden and his family were covered up by the FBI and DOJ — before and after the 2020 election.

Brady’s testimony fits a pattern revealed by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley last week, in which over 40 confidential human sources gave information to the FBI, over several years, about potential criminal activity involving the president, his brother James and son Hunter.

In a blistering letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland Wednesday, Grassley alleged ongoing efforts “among certain Justice Department and FBI officials to improperly delay and stop full and complete investigative activity into the Biden family.”

Few people know that better than Brady.

Info “choke point”

On Jan. 3, 2020, Brady was tasked by then-AG Bill Barr to vet allegations about Biden corruption that had been pouring into the FBI and US attorney’s offices around the country, including from then-President Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani.

Columnist Miranda Devine explains the alleged case study of how credible corruption allegations against Joe Biden and his family were covered up by the FBI and DOJ.

Since it was an election year, Barr thought it prudent to treat such information skeptically, so Brady’s job was to weed out the credible from the garbage before it reached the existing Hunter Biden investigation being run by the Delaware US attorney since 2018.

But Brady’s team kept hitting obstruction from the FBI, and from prosecutors in Delaware.

For instance, Brady testified that the FBI required 17 higher-ups to sign off on requests, “mostly at the headquarters level” where there always was a “choke point” that caused delays.

The FBI didn’t even open the assessment until March 2020, and the process had to be renewed every 30 days, via this unprecedented 17-person signoff.

FBI agents “had to go pens down sometimes for two or three weeks at a time before they could re-engage and take additional steps because they were still waiting on, again, someone within the 17-chain signoff to approve,” Brady said.

He was forced to go to the deputy attorney general’s office repeatedly to clear the logjams — at least five or six times in nine months.

FBI HQ also refused Brady’s request for a copy of their Domestic Investigations and Operations Guide, so he could pinpoint the deviations from procedure, and he was forced to scrounge a redacted copy from a public website.

In Delaware, Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf resisted all cooperation. Brady’s team’s requests for a briefing of what they had found were refused multiple times.

Blaming Giuliani

According to congressional testimony by IRS supervisory agent Gary Shapley, who was in charge of the Delaware probe, Wolf declared in a meeting that she would not cooperate with Brady’s office because “no information from that office could be credible [because] it all came from Rudy Giuliani,” which was untrue.

Wolf tipped off Hunter’s attorneys to a search warrant and barred investigators from following evidence that might lead to Joe, according to Shapley.

Brady had to keep phoning Weiss to get him to intervene, but Weiss doesn’t appear to have been much help.

One time Brady called Weiss and said in “colorful language . . . can you please talk to your team, this is important.” But all that happened was Brady’s team was told to submit questions in writing, which was unprecedented in Brady’s experience.

The FBI also frequently was uncooperative. When The Post broke the story of Hunter’s laptop, Brady said he was “surprised” that he had never been told that the FBI had the laptop in its possession.

It took six months for Brady’s requests for searches of the FBI database to yield fruit: a mention of Hunter’s Ukraine dealings by a trusted, long-term highly paid FBI confidential human source (CHS) in a so-called FD-1023 report buried in the files of the Washington Field Office since 2017.

Brady met resistance when he asked the FBI to re-interview the CHS in early June.

Finally, on June 30, 2020, the source was re-interviewed and delivered the bombshell allegation that he/she had been told by Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, that he had paid then-VP Joe Biden and Hunter a bribe of $5 million apiece to get a Ukrainian prosecutor fired.

Report “concealed”

Brady’s team made inquiries, within the limit of their remit, to confirm that the as-yet uncorroborated allegations were “credible,” were not Russian disinformation, and thus deserved further investigation by Weiss’ team in Delaware, who had grand jury powers.

Eventually, Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue had to order Weiss to accept Brady’s briefing on Oct. 23, 2020.

Weiss did not bother attending but Brady’s team briefed Wolf on the FD-1023 bribery allegations and stressed that they had nothing to do with Giuliani.

Brady told Weiss directly that “the 1023 was from a credible CHS that had a history with the FBI, and that it was not derived from any of the information from Mr. Giuliani. . . .The FBI Baltimore Field Office should have been aware of that as well.”

But the FD-1023 was concealed from the very people who should have investigated it — the IRS and FBI criminal investigators working the Hunter probe.

“As a result of the [FD-1023] being concealed by prosecutors,” Shapley testified, “we were unable to follow alleged criminal activity as would normally be completed.”

Incredibly, when Grassley and House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer forced the FBI to release the FD-1023 in July this year, Democrat Jamie Raskin blatantly lied that Brady’s team had terminated its investigation into the document because it was not credible.

Brady refuted Raskin’s claims as “not true.”

“Infection”

Grassley’s letter to Garland shines a light on the shenanigans at FBI HQ which were running parallel to Brady’ efforts in Pittsburgh, unbeknownst to him.

Soon after June 30, 2020, when FBI leadership was briefed on the bombshell Biden bribery allegation made in the new FD-1023 by their trusted CHS, “an assessment [was] created by FBI Supervisory Intelligence Analyst Brian Auten [that was used in Aug. 2020 by FBI HQ’s] Foreign Influence Task Force team . . . to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and [cause] investigative activity to cease,” wrote Grassley.

Multiple investigations into Hunter were shut down.

On Sept. 14, 2020, the Foreign Influence Task Force intervened again, when it “communicated with the handling agent for the Biden family 1023 [and] attempted to shut down that reporting by falsely saying it was subject to foreign disinformation.”

With a new House speaker enthusiastically supportive of the Biden impeachment inquiry, we can expect renewed vigor among House Republicans to expose these corrupt cover-up merchants.

As Grassley says: “Our Republic cannot survive such a political infection.”

The Line That Separates Us

By Allen West

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

"The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me." Psalm 16:6 (NASB)

There is a story of courage and honor that one can visit in my home state of Texas, in San Antonio: The Alamo. There, 183 made a brave stand against an enemy numbering in the thousands for 13 glorious days. Being a graduate of the University of Tennessee, we have a unique nickname, as does the state of Tennessee, the Volunteers. There, 38 men from Tennessee stood upon those ramparts, and they are remembered, along with their fallen brothers, on the memorial known as the Cenotaph. One of those Tennessee Volunteers was a former member of the US House of Representatives, just as I am, named Davy Crockett. It was said that upon losing his congressional reelection, he famously asserted, "You all may go to hell, I am going to Texas.

One of the famed stories from The Alamo -- possibly folklore, but stunning nonetheless -- was that during a ceasing of the bombardment by the Mexican Army, under the dictator General Santa Anna, Commandant of The Alamo, Lt. Col. William Barrett Travis called the defenders together. He realized that there would be no reinforcements from Lt.. Col.. Fanin, and he drew a line in the sand with his sword in the garrison and stated that anyone who wanted to stay and fight to the death should cross the line. Some say that there was one who did not cross the line, but even the famous Jim Bowie, who was incapacitated at the time, restrained to a bed, had it lifted up and carried across the line.

This occurred sometime on March 5, 1836. The following day at dawn, there was a full assault against The Alamo, and all the defenders were killed, and their bodies burned.

There are those who see this as folly, but those who have served recognize this as giving the "last full measure of devotion.” It is an honorable sacrifice for a worthy cause: freedom and liberty over tyranny. As the Psalmist wrote, “The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places,” defending liberty and freedom with honor is a pleasant place. And, the heritage of those who have descended from such, as we have as Texans, is beautiful.

So. It is for Americans. A line has been drawn in the sand, and our heritage is that of making a stand against abject tyranny. I am writing this missive from the Hilton Higgins Hotel in New Orleans, across the street from the National World War II Museum. That was a war in which my dad fought because the lines had fallen to him, and he set forth a heritage of service, sacrifice, and commitment in our family. Today, that line has been drawn by our enemies once again, and if we are to be true to our heritage, we will take our proper position

Just last week, the foreign minister of Iran, who is designated as a terrorist, was granted permission, by visa, to come onto our shores and deliver a threat against our nation. Infamously so, his threat came in the same week that we observed the remembrance of October 23, 1983, when Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Beirut, Lebanon killed some 254 Marines, sailors, and soldiers. If we do not recognize the significance of that threat coming 40 years later to our nation, we are not being true to our heritage. The enemy drew a line then, and our response was that we withdrew from Beirut, refusing to cross the line of honor and inflicting consequences. History does, indeed, have a way of repeating itself.

On October 7, 2023, another Islamic terrorist organization, Hamas, supported by Iran, unleashed a savage and barbaric assault against innocent civilians. In that attack, almost 30 Americans were killed and are now counted among the over 200 hostages being held by these bloodthirsty animals. Yet, as this line has been established, we have individuals in America choosing to side with this enemy. Let me be clear: anyone taking the side of Hamas, or any Islamic terrorist organization, and their state sponsors, have taken a different position on the line of honor. Those members of the United States House of Representatives, these groups on college campuses, and all others must come to know the consequences and ramifications of their actions. They are aiding and abetting the enemy, a serious crime.

I find it rather interesting that no one supporting Hamas in the rallies on Capitol Hill in buildings has been arrested and charged with insurrection.

There is a line that delineates good and evil. Beheading babies is evil. Civilians who support Islamic terrorism and allow them to freely operate and maneuver in their neighborhoods and in their society are complicit. No Geneva Convention protections exist for non-state, non-uniformed belligerents on a declared battlefield. A sovereign nation that terrorists have attacked is not in violation of international law. The terrorists and their base of supporters are in violation of international law.

Here are some excerpts from the Hamas Charter:

Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors.

For our struggle against the Jews is extremely wide-ranging and grave, so much so that it will need all the loyal efforts we can wield to be followed by further steps and reinforced by successive battalions from the multifarious (I say nefarious) Arab and Islamic world until the enemies are defeated, and Allah's victory prevails.

It clearly appears to me, and it should to you, that the lines have been drawn, and now it has fallen unto us. No, I do not seek continuous battle engagements. I have been in combat. However, when the lines have fallen unto me in the pleasant places of honor, my heritage calls upon me and you to cross the line and defend our way of life against declared evil. It will not go away just because you wish it to or seek compromise, negotiation, restraint, appeasement, or acquiescence. Your enemy's reality must become yours before it is too late when you finally are in recognition.

When President Ronald Reagan wanted to strike back hard against Hezbollah, his advisors talked him out of that course of action. They took the easy path of cowardice. That is not our heritage. Only two things are recognized in the Middle East: strength and might. Those calling for an immediate ceasefire are only seeking to reward unconscionable and heinous actions with fear. There is indeed a new Axis of Evil -- China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Islamic Jihadists, and Mexican transnational narco-criminal terrorists. Just as this nation sought to evade World War II, it finally came home to us.

If we are to be a Constitutional Republic seeking to Live Free, then we must recognize the line between good and evil and utterly crush the latter. Failure is not an option for our future generations.

Steadfast and Loyal.
