Fox News Drifts
Further to Port
I watched the 2020 Republican National Convention on C-Span, largely because the screen is uncluttered with banners and preview windows and they hang around at the end of such events for awhile, particularly when President Trump, Vice-President Mike Pence, or First Lady Melania is the speaker. I would try to turn to Fox for analysis only to see first up the shining visage of a Marie Harf or a Juan Williams, the Democrat who has lately been obsessing about something called “QAnon violence” whatever that is.
Mornings at Fox have not been much better, with the likes former DNC chair Donna Brazile who, on Tuesday morning’s episode, lost it entirely when questioned about the DNC’s failure to address and accept responsibility for the anarchy, rioting, looting, burning, and deaths resulting from the Democratic Party’s push to empty the prisons, defund and otherwise neuter the police, and to not arrest or prosecute vigorously those perpetrating the violence. As Breitbart reported:
Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” host Brian Kilmeade cut away from former Democratic National Committee chair Donna Brazile, also a network contributor, after she derailed a segment with conservative commentator Tammy Bruce.
While commenting on the first night of the Republican National Convention, Bruce said, “No Democratic has spoken out against the nature of what’s happening in Kenosha, Portland, Seattle, Baltimore, New York, Chicago. Americans have a choice, and the fact is that the Republicans are showing an expanse of what the American sensibility and what the American future is.”
Brazile said, “This is why the choir sounds like a note coming from a scratched record. It sounds like I will never be an American in your world, because, after 400 years, my family cannot walk out of this house without fearing violence.”
Kilmeade said, “That’s not what anyone said.”
After an extended back and forth, Brazile said, “She ignores the reality of what is happening. She is ignoring it because I see it. Tammy, I see it every day. I see the violence, Tammy.”
She continued, “Coming from someone who does not live my existence -- you do not recognize my existence, Tammy. You do not recognize my existence!”
Bruce said, “It’s a shame.”
Brazile shot back, “You are the shameful one. You are the shameful one. You cannot erase my history.”
Whatever was she ranting about? No one is trying to erase her history. It is Donna Brazile, not Tammy Bruce or anyone else, who is ignoring the reality of Democratic governors and mayors letting their cities burn amid an anarchy that has nothing to do with George Floyd or any social injustice real or imagined. It has everything to do with seizing power from Donald Trump, and canceling our middle class, our culture, and our system of law enforcement and justice.
Donna Brazile, the disgraced former DNC leader and newly minted Fox News contributor who leaked debate questions to Hillary Clinton, got away with swearing at RNC Chairwoman Ronna Mcdanion the morning after Super Thursday, as Joe Biden called it, instead of being pulled from the air immediately as Fox would have cheerfully done to any conservative analyst who similarly ranted before telling say, the DNC Chair, to similarly “go to hell.”
McDaniel had appeared earlier on "America's Newsroom," and opined that perhaps the withdrawal of Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg and the support of Beto O’Rourke was part of deal-making that included future cabinet positions and other considerations in exchange for their endorsements. McDaniel suggested, based on the 2016 nominating shenanigans, that perhaps the DNC was once again conspiring to deny Bernie Sanders its nomination. This was the partisan analysis of a political operative in an election year, an opinion she was entitled to express, an opinion well-grounded in the historical record.
This struck a nerve with Brazile, who, asked to comment, went off on a borderline incoherent rant that stunned Newsroom co-hosts Ed Henry And Sandra Smith, who said nothing to correct the record or apologize to an equally stunned audience as Brazile went off the rails:
Ms. Brazile, a Fox News contributor and former interim Democratic National Committee chairwoman, became visibly irate during an appearance on “America’s Newsroom” after co-host Sandra Smith asked her to weigh in on comments made earlier on the program by Ms. McDaniel, who said a potential brokered Democratic convention would be “rigged” against the Vermont senator.
“Stay the hell out of our race,” Ms. Brazile responded. “I get sick and tired … of listening to Republicans tell me and the Democrats about our process. First of all, they don’t have a process. They are canceling primaries. They have winner-take-all. They don’t have the kind of democracy that we see on the Democratic side.
“And for people to use Russian talking points to sow division among Americans — that is stupid,” she continued. “So Ronna, go to hell! This is not about—”
“Whoa, whoa,” co-anchor Ed Henry interjected.
“No, go to hell,” Ms. Brazile repeated. “I’m tired of it, Ed.”
Again, it is hard to imagine a GOP or conservative getting away with this. Russian talking points? Really? Fox’s idea of analysis is to provide a forum for Brazile to cry, “Russia, Russia, Russia.” So impressed was Fox with Brazile’s cogent analysis that she was back in the evening for post-election analysis and on “Fox and Friends” the following morning. This is typical for a Fox News that has been veering to the left of late, a recent example being Neil Cavuto’s rewriting of history when he agreed with guest A.B. Stoddard that Trump lost all his 2016 debates with “cringeworthy” performances.
And then there’s Juan Williams, who recently reacted almost as irrationally when asked on “The Five” about Democratic responsibility and culpability for urban violence in Democratic-run cities. As the Daily Caller reported:
Juan Williams compared blaming Democrats for ongoing riots and “anarchist violence” to blaming President Donald Trump for “QAnon violence” during a Thursday discussion on Fox News’ “The Five.”
Guest-co-host Martha MacCallum played a clip of a former police officer being knocked down and assaulted on a New York City street.
“This was on 39th street,” MacCallum said. “This is basically midtown in the middle of the afternoon. They pulled 600 police officers off the streets, and now we are seeing this. So is this a mistake for Democrats to ignore this?”
“They haven’t mentioned it once, Juan,” MacCallum said, referring to the ongoing Democratic National Convention.
“There is not widespread violence in American cities,” Williams responded. “Let’s not buy into Donald Trump’s nonsense about American… violent crime in this country is down.”
“Stop it, Juan… You can’t be serious. I’m not Donald Trump. I’m telling you the facts. Every day I tell you the facts, Juan, and you keep shifting it to Donald Trump. It’s pathetic. You need to come up with a new talking point,” cohost Greg Gutfeld said.
Gutfeld continued and said, “the murders and shootings are up,” as Williams continued to speak at the same time.
“This is not anarchist violence by a small group in Portland, Oregon, that’s suddenly being blown into like, ‘oh that represents what is going on in American cities,'” Williams said. “That’s just wrong! That’s just a total distraction. The reality is that Democrats are not responsible for some violent anarchists no more than Donald Trump is responsible for QAnon violence or Proud Boy violence…”
Again, Juan, what in the world is QAnon violence? Where is it happening? The answer is that it isn’t, and doesn’t exist except in the fevered recesses of Juan Williams’ brain.
President Trump has commented on the decline of Fox News as an objective source of information, particularly its weekend lineup. As the Washington Examiner reported:
President Trump criticized Fox News' weekend lineup, saying they were loading up with Democrats, making them worse than CNN.
"Watching @FoxNews weekend anchors is worse than watching low ratings Fake News @CNN, or Lyin’ Brian Williams," Trump said Sunday on Twitter. "Like CNN, NBC is also way down in the ratings. But @FoxNews, who failed in getting the very BORING Dem debates, is now loading up with Democrats & even using Fake unsourced @nytimes as a 'source' of information."
"@FoxNews is changing fast, but they forgot the people who got them there!" Trump added.
So it would seem, as FOX continues to embrace its latest Democratic heartthrob, Donna Brazile. The continued listing to port of Fox News, which rose to prominence precisely because it cut through the politically correct swamp fog that passed as media news just as Donald Trump sliced through the swamp itself on his way to the White House, was on full display. It’s time to drain the Fox News swamp as well.

But times are changing or are they?
This is the answer to why Jews vote democratic. Things are changing
The study of history is the study of human nature. We learn from the past in order to protect ourselves from the present. Voters need to take heed, and looking into our history, American Jews in particular, beware. You cannot escape history.
Jews thought they would be perpetually safe enjoying the high life on top of German society before the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party, just as Jews today enjoy freedom, prosperity, and safety in America. Jews were Germans first and believed in the Fatherland. They were Germany’s bankers, industrialists, soldiers, scientists, factory workers, and teachers. The German Republic was a representative democracy that upheld the rule of law, the courts, police protection, and a Bill of Rights that guaranteed freedom of speech and religion, and equality under the law for every German citizen.
Before the worldwide depression hit Germany in 1929, the Nazis were a minor political party and anti-Semitism was not as prevalent. The Nazis capitalized on the widespread unemployment and severe economic depression that decimated Germany, without which they never would have come to power. The country was bitterly divided, and Hitler seized the opportunity to blame the crisis on the Jewish capitalists and financiers. In three short years Hitler was appointed German chancellor and soon came to control every aspect of German life, the laws, the courts, the police, and before long the Jews were doomed to the death camps.
Human nature has never changed in the past 5000 years. Historically these are the same as the Egyptian Pharaohs who enslaved the Hebrews, the same Babylonians that destroyed the First Temple, the same Romans that destroyed Jerusalem and the Second Temple, the same Venetians of the Renaissance that put the Jews in Ghettos, the same anti-Jewish mobs in the Russian Empire that led violent pogroms, and the same Palestinians who seek a “free Palestine from the river to the sea,” which is the destruction of Israel.
Now they have morphed into Black Lives Matter, Antifa, the lawless mob, and the socialist wing now controlling the Democrat Party. It’s not about racial justice or the new civil rights movement. Just as the Nazis did in 1929, they are capitalizing on the pandemic to push their socialist, defund the police agenda, in order to seize power. They are actively working with Palestinian activists such as Linda Sarsour, promoting the Boycott, Divest, Sanction (BDS) movement to economically destroy Israel, the only other country besides America where Jews are safe. Their aim is to overthrow America, wipe Israel off the map, and take over.
Jewish voters still believe the Democrat Party is the same Party of decades past - the party of FDR, Truman, and JFK. That Party is now dead. It exists only in their minds, not in reality. But Jews have a deep-rooted century-long alliance with the Democrat Party, which is hard to break.
Around the turn of last century there was a mass migration of Jews to America from Russia, Poland and other Eastern European lands controlled by Russia, seeking a new life free from persecution and want. They crammed into the teeming tenements of New York’s Lower East Side and other Eastern cities. They brought with them the legacy of the downtrodden, European socialist politics from the Old World, which made for a natural fit with the Democrat Party and the Labor Union movement.
Succeeding generations moved up, worked hard, studied diligently to make the American Dream a reality for a people still plagued by pervasive anti-Semitism in their new homeland. Seeking acceptance and involvement in their communities, they flocked to the Democrat Party in their neighborhoods, which was controlled by the Irish Democrats of Tammany Hall. With time, the Democrat machine embraced the Jews as a huge voting bloc, inviting them to be active in politics and run for public office.
Ultimately, the Jewish people moved out of the Lower East Side to the suburbs and entered the Middle Class. But they never abandoned their legacy as the poor, the downtrodden and the underdog, as they held on to the politics of the Democrat Party. Jews soon climbed the ladders of success, prospering in the business world, serving in the military in both World Wars, with love of country, supporting Israel, believing in liberty and all things that tied us together as Americans. These were the tenets of the liberal Democrat Party, until two years ago. Recently the Party took a hard lurch to the left, becoming the Party of AOC, and the Squad - the Party of socialism, the Party of anti-police, anti-America, and anti-Israel agendas.
Congressman Eliot Engel, a 32-year incumbent just lost the Democrat Primary to the AOC-backed radical insurgent Jamaal Bowman, in a liberal Jewish district. Moderate Democrats are running to the left to save their political careers. When AOC or Rep. Ilhan Omar speak out against Israel and Jews, Democrats remain silent. City Councilman Barry Grodenchik, a so-called moderate Jewish Democrat, just voted to defund the police by $1 billion, as did many other moderate Democrats. Joe Biden recently accepted endorsements from anti-Semites Linda Sarsour, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Keith Ellison, and other Palestinian activists and Farrakhan supporters at the “Million Muslim Votes Summit.”
The socialist and anti-Semitic wing of the Democrat Party has taken over, and Democrats have forfeited their long cherished American liberal values and are running scared. Everything the Jews fought for and stood for over the past 125 years, the new Democrat Party is against.
The Republican Party champions all the values that American Jews hold dear, love of America and Israel, love of democracy, our military, free speech, religious freedom, law and order, equal protection under the law, and the American Dream. Today the Republican Party is the natural home for Jewish voters. It’s time to squarely look at the history of the Jewish obsession with the Democrat Party, make the final Exodus, and kiss the new Democrat Party goodbye.

Ross Rants:
For me the fog began to clear over the past week.
Optimism is starting to turn to euphoria in the stock market, especially for the tech sector. Several people have said to me “I can’t believe how much money I am making in the market”. While there is beginning to be some broadening out of the stocks being bought, it is still tech that is driving the averages to records. The Fed has made it clear it is maintaining near zero rates for at least another two year or possibly three, and that means there is almost no place to make substantial money other than stocks, and US stocks still remain the best place to be. It seems a lot of cash from individuals is now being invested, and the professional investors appear to be crowding into the big tech companies.
The question is how long can this continue until something turns it around. Almost everyone thinks the end is coming, but few want to get off the money train. I am still on board. The answer is nobody knows, and the risk grows daily as these stocks continue to hit all time highs. However, as the virus declines, and as re-openings become more widespread, and business and employment pick up, it is likely that other sectors of the market will also see increased interest, if for no other reason than some investors want to spread their risk.
It is almost certain that as parts of the economy begins to return to some degree of normalcy, and as riots and crime continue in cities, that the home building business will boom for several more years. That is an excellent booster for the general economy as it brings thousands of good paying jobs, from unskilled to highly skilled, it also has huge spin off to all of the things people need to furnish and run a house. A house has all sorts of components from wood, to plumbing, electrical, windows and doors, insulation and appliances, and furniture. Those industries will all benefit from the home building activity. Loans need to be made, so banks, mortgage processors, and lawyers all benefit. If you move out of a city to the burbs, now you need a car or two. Housing is one of the best ways to help build economic activity that brings in many other industries and adds a lot of jobs as a result. The multiplier effect of new housing construction is huge. European stocks may gain some traders interest as that economy improves, but a resurgence of the virus in the EU is likely to tamp down stock prices.
There continues to be trillions of cash on the sidelines, and there is nothing like a rising market and improving economy to attract that cash. Bottom line, I do not know where this is headed, nor does anyone, but it is my sense that people generally are becoming more optimistic, and the economy is improving, and that is more likely to attract more investment in the equity market over the next 60 days. Just my gut feel, and I could prove very wrong. The election and the virus loom over everything, and neither one is clearly predictable right now. If the virus remains in remission, and we get closer to an announcement that a vaccine, or two, are going to be ready to distribute by January, and if it looks more like Trump will win, which I believe he will, then the stock market will continue to rally. The Fed is doing all it can to support asset prices, and housing, and stocks benefit from that. If the vaccines do not pass their trials, the market will collapse. Seems low risk now, but it could happen. Maybe Biden wakes up and does OK in the debates, and then Trump loses. Unlikely, but could happen. Maybe there is a resurgence in October and a new partial shutdown. All these events are possible, but unlikely. It is a big bet now.
The savings rate just came in at 17%, very strong, and spending is up .4%, well above forecasts. Consumers will be spending again as employment returns and optimism returns. There is a lot of unused spending capacity now and pent up demand. One of these days it will come forth once employment improves a lot, with unemployment down to 5% or so, and the vaccine is readily available.
The oil patch has stabilized and will survive. There will be consolidation in fracking, but as Harold Hamm said, when times get tough, the oil patch finds ways to cut costs, and that is what is happening. Fracking will come back and oil will head back toward $50 on a reduced cost to produce.
If Walmart and Microsoft do win Tick Tock, then Amazon has a competitor. Watch this one as it will be very interesting and if it happens, Walmart will be getting a big boost to its business. The new CEO is remaking Walmart. It is yet to be seen what that means.
World trade is returning better than expected, and is up more than forecast this past month. In the US, durable goods orders are up 11%, housing is booming, auto sales are ramping up, as is factory activity generally. We still have a very long way to go, and so long as Pelosi refuses to do anything to help, a return to normal is slowed, but now the Republicans are going to be able to put forward an offer to help people and blame Pelosi and the Dems for stopping the help. Pelosi is trying to slow the economic revival, but she may be making the Dems look terrible, which they are for not doing a deal.
Back in March and April I suggested that there was no need for the complete shutdown, and there would be far more damage to the economy and to people if there was a shutdown, as happened. There is now a study out that has shown the damage to people not infected from the shutdown was extensive and is continuing. Thousands did not get cancer screenings and now have cancer advanced that might have been dealt with. Many others with other serious conditions did not get care and will die or have bad outcomes. Thousands became mentally strained and turned to suicide, alcohol, and drugs, or abuse. Many small businesses will go out of business, ruining the lives of the owners and employees. The cost of the shutdown was gigantic. Many buildings for malls and office will go into bankruptcy. Many who could have remained employed did not. And the fiscal cost to the country will be terrible. In short, all of the things many worried would happen that were bad outcomes, did happen, and the toll is still mounting.
If they had instead used the Swedish model with some modifications, putting a lot of lock-down on nursing homes and others with serious health factors, and told everyone they had to wear masks and distance, and possibly just shut down the NY region, the overall death toll including those who die due to the lack of medical care for other things, would have been lower, and the economic and mental health damage would have been far lower. Sweden, now that time has passed, has had a much lower problem than most of the EU, and if you eliminate the nursing home deaths, they did a lot better. Their economy was hit but much less than the EU as a whole. Schools are in session. Life went on. As I has said then, if you were a middle class white person and you took precautions, your chance of getting sick was little and your chance of dying very little. They need to reopen the whole country, and schools now and follow those parameters, and get the economy back in gear.
My sense is the Republicans hit the right note in their convention vs the Dems who were simply negative and offered no good ideas, just a lot of celebs attacking Trump. Rolling out all those everyday people, and especially several poor blacks and former prisoners, will resonate well with blacks. That approach, plus the continuing riots across the country, and the rising crime, is making a big difference, even to blacks. The whole racial justice thing has been drowned out by looting, murders, fires, and rapidly rising crime mostly by blacks against blacks. And all we see is the Dem mayors and governors doing nothing to stop it, and in fact doing the opposite by defunding and restraining cops. Now Biden says it was a mistake to have the National Guard go in to help control protests. I think his statements to the National Guard conference will come back to haunt him as more cities have chaos.
As more little black kids get shot, those communities are getting angry and fed up with the violence. Those minorities who had finally gotten jobs and wage increases over the past three years, and who now have nothing but violence, are going to think hard about who helped them most. Despite all the noise in the media, I would not be surprised if the average black who had a job and some hope, decides Trump did more for them than the Dems who do not help them attain a better life, and who are not keeping them safe. Do not be surprised if Trump has a much bigger share of the black vote than anyone is predicting now. They are realizing their vote has been taken for granted by the Dems, and it has gotten them nowhere good. Biden’s racist comments have not helped him. Trump could get 12%-15% or more of the black vote, and that assures him a big win if that happens. Passing prison reform was a very big thing
There is a lot of talk of a contested election. Here is an interesting fact. The 12th amendment says in such a case the House decides, but it also says each state gets only ONE vote, and there are more Republican states in the House than Dem, so Trump wins that vote. Republicans have 26 states and two states are even. Trump wins big and the press and Dems claim voter suppression due to no mail in voting. Lawsuits start, but to no avail even if some federal judge in San Fran tries to claim he can single handedly stop the outcome with a restraining order. Protests will be widespread, but will just prove to most people that they were right in voting for Trump. Bottom line -Trump wins with big margin in electoral college, R’s hold Senate by 2 votes.
I am very against sports getting involved in politics. It has no place in sports, period. It is just a bunch of overpaid ego maniacs with little education of real knowledge, thinking they have a right to showboat, and that anyone cares what they have to say. I care as little for what some basketball player says, as I care about what some Hollywood celeb says. Zero. Just because someone can make believe and act in a movie, or can dunk a basketball, has no relationship to their intellectual abilities to understand world affairs or finance and economics. They make absurd compensation for what they do compared to those who start a company and create jobs, but the sports and Hollywood celebs do nothing to advance the lives of the average person. It is all just self-promotion and they claim Trump is an ego maniac?
2024 primary Haley, Scott, Cotton, Rubio and maybe some governors end result Haley Pres Scott VP win in landslide.
