Beginning "Unwoke." The Silent Most Likely Will Be Next. HAPPY THANKSGIVING. More.

Destroy Hamas......Get the hateful UN out of the way.........Remove the Palestinian Authority

Not easy

Sent to me by a dear friend and fellow memo reader:

Some quotes from George Orwell, 1984:

"Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

“The best books... are those that tell you what you know already.”

“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”

I have now begun reading Sen .Cruz's " Unwoke."  (Professor Dershowitz said Cruz was one of his brightest students if not the brightest.)

The intro Chapter  begins by relating the story of the Cruz family in Cuba, how they were treated by Castro and ends by telling how the Senator came to be a Texan.

Cruz then does a thumbnail sketch of Marx portraying  him  a worthless human. In time, 3 radicals came to understand if they were going to turn America into a Communist Bastion they would have to abandon Marxist's methods.

Marxist never gave up on Communism even though it never worked and always failed.

Gramsci served time in jail and was a native member of the Italian Communist  Party. His book, called "Prison Notebook," was translated in 1971 before appearing in The United States. Gramsci met resistance  but his belief that breaking windows was unproductive. Infiltrating institutions was preferable and more effective and so it was.

Gramsci died before his reforms were implemented.  He was followed by Rudi Dutschke a student activist in Germany.  Dutschke believed, while working against societies' cultural institutions, it was critical to change them from within . That meant embracing "the long march through the institutions."

This catchy phrase was interpreted to mean "doing the job," learning how to program computers, teach at all levels, use mass media, organize production, recognize and eschew planned obsolescence etc.

The key was to start with universities and begin attacking the fact there was no equal access..  This concept was picked up by Herbert Marcuse who developed "counter institutions"and professors who began their subtle but biased indoctrination.

Today America faces a significant number of revolutionaries as professors, journalists, film writers etc. who have changed American culture before we knew it was happening.

In 2023 "racial tension"  has become prominent yet, racial tension has receded. The "long march" has obviously paid off.  Communist teachings shifted from economics and property and now are applied to culture. The struggle between victims and oppressors is now the focus and less abstract.  Culture has morphed into extended oppression ie. race, gender, sexual orientation, transgenderism, disability and now, anti-Semitism.

Oppression, which was once imposed through government ,is now imposed through education, journalism, Big Tech, Big Business, sports, music transgenderism, disability and of course, Hollywood (entertainment) etc.  BLM's was explicit in its desire to attack and disrupt the West' nuclear family. Ideas that were once deemed insane have now become mainstream. Intimidation has become a powerful tool of extremists.

We must retake our infected institutions if we are to survive as a nation. Critical race, politization of politics are other tools.

In my opinion, the greatest threat to our survival is our weak, corrupt leadership and we might swing too far to the right as we address getting back to "home pate,"

Time will tell but I remain very circumspect.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah recently made a lengthy, laconic speech, that has been open to much analysis concerning whether or not the north of Israel will be yet another front in this existential war. In his remarks, he blamed the United States “for being totally responsible for this war”, and congratulated Hamas for their October 7th massacre of Israeli civilians and soldiers. He did not rule out wider escalation on Israel’s northern front. Just this past week, however, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei met with Hamas leader, Ismail Haniya, and rebuked him for not giving Iran a warning about the October 7th attacks. Yet, Iranian-backed Hezbollah and other Iranian proxies have engaged in the heaviest clashes with Israel in almost 20 years, with 7 IDF soldiers killed. Most villages in the northern border communities have been evacuated. Meanwhile, US bases have been attacked approximately 50 times by Iranian-backed terrorist groups in Syria and Iraq.

About the Speaker: Lieutenant Colonel Sarit Zehavi is the CEO and founder of Alma – a nonprofit and an independent research and education center specialized in Israel’s security challenges on its northern border. Sarit has briefed hundreds of groups and forums, ranging from US Senators, Congressmen/women, and politicians to senior journalists and visiting VIP groups in Israel and overseas. The Democratic Socialists of America Is a Hate Group Noah Rothman

Posted by Ruth King

Many state and federal officials whose names grace its roster seem unvexed by the group’s terrorization of American Jews.

Despite the organization’s efforts to bury the evidence, CNN’s Jake Tapper helpfully reminded his followers on Thursday that the first reaction to the October 7 massacre of the New York chapter of the far-left group Democratic Socialists of America was to affirm the legitimacy of that unspeakable slaughter.

“In solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to resist 75 years of occupation and apartheid,” the group implored its allies to flood Times Square and register their satisfaction with Hamas’s barbarism. That is what is meant by the word “solidarity,” after all — a fellowship formed around shared goals and objectives. It describes a state of commonality and kinship. To judge by DSA’s actions, its organizers chose the right word to describe their outlook.

Well-meaning liberals and progressives who take exception to some Israeli policies are often quick to assure their skeptics that Hamas’s actions are unrepresentative of the Palestinian people writ large or even the Gazans over whom the terrorist organization illegitimately rules. The DSA disagrees. To judge from its reaction to the multiaxial attack on Israeli civilians, culminating in acts of murder, rape, dismemberment, and torture so obscene it would have made the Roman Colosseum blush, the DSA’s members seem incapable of denouncing Hamas’s tactics. Perhaps that’s why we’ve seen so many DSA followers deliberately menace American Jews and supporters of Israel’s right to defend itself against an avowedly genocidal terrorist group.

The October 8 pro-Hamas rally the DSA championed occurred as scheduled. There, protesters “cheered the rocket barrage that devastated Israeli citizens,” the New York Times reported, horrifying the politicians “aligned with New York’s left.” If the DSA’s allies were horrified then, imagine the psychological torment they’re enduring nearly a month into the outfit’s campaign of intimidation against American Jews and their allies.

At least 139 people were arrested, including a DSA-affiliated member of the New York City Council and a state senator, during a menacing nighttime march through Gotham’s streets on October 23 billed as a demonstration calling on Israel to stand down and absorb the murder of its civilians. “I do not condemn Hamas,” read the signs they carried. “There is only one solution,” they droned in unison as they paraded down emptied streets and past lighted windows behind which the targets of their intimidation took shelter. “Intifada. Revolution.” This was another event sponsored by the DSA, which the organization’s social-media account gleefully promoted.

“We are calling for full liberation of all of Palestine,” a demonstrator shouted at a rally named “Flood Brooklyn for Gaza,” a deliberate homage to the name Hamas gave its October 7 massacre. “To every single inch,” the protester continued, “from the river to the sea.” The event that featured numerous calls for the eradication of Israel and, presumably, its residents received glowing praise from a publication that bills itself as the voice of the “Bread & Roses caucus of Democratic Socialists of America.”

Jewish security organizations urged practitioners of the faith to keep their distance from the combustible group cascading down Brooklyn’s streets, and not unwisely. It’s reasonable to assume that a protest in which thousands denounced “Zionist genocide” and called for “intifada revolution” “by any means necessary” would be a dangerous place for Jews.

The DSA might have finally crossed a line this week when it sicced its wild-eyed devotees on Democratic lawmakers. It was one of three sponsors of a demonstration that descended on the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. There, rioters demonstrated their commitment to peace by violently assaulting the police officers tasked with defending the party’s home office, six of whom were treated for injuries they sustained in the mêlée. Numerous federal lawmakers, including some of the party’s most senior elected officials in Washington, were reportedly evacuated from the premises.

DSA’s antics have caused some of its political allies in saner quarters within the progressive political firmament to distance themselves from the group — or, at least, from the unhinged rhetorical excesses and extralegal activities to which its members are prone. To this, the DSA has anointed itself the real victim.

Deploying all the diversionary tactics socialist activists have practiced on American campuses for years, the DSA and its allies insist that no true Scotsman would deploy the hateful symbols and antisemitic chants that are so common at the demonstrations it promotes. Any condemnation the DSA receives is an effort to “tarnish” the group, discredit its calls for radically redistributionists economic policies, and bully its members into silence. But that is what a civilized society does to organizations with records like the one DSA has built for itself.

The DSA’s misconduct has produced some high-profile defections. One of what he called the “hate-filled and antisemitic” incidents that typify DSA-sponsored events led Democratic representative Shri Thanedar to renounce his membership in the organization. “I left to protest the DSA leadership’s politically and morally bankrupt response to the horrific Hamas October 7 anti-Jewish pogrom,” Hamilton College professor Maurice Isserman wrote in a searing op-ed for the left-wing publication the Nation. But these few exceptions prove the rule.

For now, it seems, DSA-affiliated lawmakers at the state and federal level seem perfectly comfortable associating themselves with this outfit. The consciences of Representatives Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Greg Casar are apparently clean. The hundreds of state-level officials whose names grace the DSA roster seem unvexed by the terrorization of American Jews that is under way in their names.

Defenders of the DSA are likely to draw fine distinctions between the group’s more overzealous chapters and the national organization, but they never acknowledge the national organization’s failure to denounce or make examples of its more menacing elements. DSA’s proponents hide behind the noble intentions their enterprise retails — fairness and justice and peace — ignoring the mockery its conduct makes of the anodyne liberal sloganeering it uses to disguise its true designs. If the DSA’s members are at all troubled by the group’s conduct, they don’t show it.

The Democratic Socialists of America is a hate group. It’s not the sort of hate group that the industry that has been erected around anathematizing right-wing political activism would ever see as one, but the corruption of those institutions shouldn’t keep Americans with a functioning moral compass from rendering that obvious verdict. If the United States continues to regard the threat DSA poses to civil society as an esoteric feature of progressive politics, the country will be guilty of the charge with which the Democratic Socialists so often smear their detractors: complicity.

Some 10 out of 24 Hamas battalions ‘significantly damaged’

IDF official: The terrorists' field command level sustaining massive damage; terror army struggling to implement commands from Sinwar.

By Yaakov Lappin- JNS

More than 10 of Hamas’s battalions in Gaza have sustained significant degradation since the start of the war on Oct. 7, a senior Israel Defense Forces officer said on Monday.

The battalion is the main Hamas terror army unit, and approximately 1,000 terrorists operate in each, the officer said. Hamas battalion commanders dispatched terrorists to conduct the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in southern Israel, murdering some 1,200 people and kidnapping as many as 240 people.

“More than 10 out of these 24 battalions damaged significantly. In some battalions, we eliminated hundreds of Hamas terrorists,” said the source, who estimated that thousands of terrorists have been killed. Most of the battalions in question are in the northern Gaza Strip.

A very high number of Hamas commanders have been killed, he said, with some battalions seeing more than 50% of their commanders slain. “This can’t be replaced in a war,” said the officer.

Hamas’s Northern Gaza Brigade saw two battalions lose over 50% of their commanders, and the Gaza City Brigade saw four battalions also lose more than 50% of their commanders, said the source.

“In Hamas, command and control is a very important issue. Muhammed Deif has been the leader of the Hamas army for many years, and as a leader and commander, his orders are important. In the last month, we haven’t seen Deif going out in public saying things he said before,” said the military official.

As a result, in many cases Hamas has found it has no field commanders to command terror operatives on the ground, harming its ability to counter-attack, he added. “This dismantles the ability of Hamas to fight right now and also to rehabilitate military power after the war. We won’t accept Hamas remaining with its military power.”

Hamas’s main rocket arsenal has been concentrated in northern Gaza, and the number of rockets fired at Israel is decreasing, reaching “nearly zero,” said the source. Hamas still has firepower, however, and “if we want to take it, we have to go to the south [of Gaza]. We will do whatever we will be told,” he added.

Describing Hamas as “worse than ISIS,” the source that in recent years Hamas built up its military power under the cover of local government, civil and humanitarian aid, including assistance received from Israel.

“Hamas consistently used the civilian population as human shields to execute attacks against Israeli civilians,” said the source, mentioning Shifa and Rantisi hospitals as prime examples. “They do it because they know it will be difficult for us to strike them.”

He added: “We evacuated more than a million citizens of Gaza to the south to prevent harm to them. Hamas is trying to stop them. Our operational plan is to eliminate Hamas. The way we operate is through ground maneuvers and airstrikes. Our forces are encircling Gaza City to deepen achievements. Wherever we go, rocket fire on the civilian home front decreasing, and we are degrading the ability [of Hamas] to use tunnels,” which have been intentionally dug under civilian homes, schools and hospitals.

Hamas leaders will also be killed, the official vowed.

“We are cutting off the field from Hamas leadership. [The organization’s chief in Gaza Yahya Sinwar can talk and give orders but there is no one to take these orders and act according to his directive.

At Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, there are many indications of a massive underground terror complex that goes beyond the hospital, to the whole area around it, from where many Hamas commanders attempted to implement control of Hamas terror units, the source said.

“The underground complex in Gaza plays an important part in the Hamas operational vision. By taking it we are taking out an important part of Hamas’s plans,” he stated.

Hamas operatives are also trained to fire on IDF soldiers when they see them, and this does not require command and control abilities.

Terrorists interrogated, gave locations of tunnels

Meanwhile, the IDF announced on Monday that its 504 Military Intelligence Unit, which includes field interrogators, opened a temporary field facility in southern Israel at the start of the war to

conduct interrogations of Hamas prisoners in real-time, adding  that within days, this became “a permanent facility for interrogations.”

“As part of the terrorist interrogations that have been going on since the start of the war, 300

terrorists of various terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip were interrogated and gave the locations of underground terrorist tunnels, warehouses and weapons, along with exposing the enemy’s methods of operation and the enemy’s assimilation efforts within the civilian population,” said the IDF.

“Throughout the war, the unit [504] has been operating with a wide variety of tools and methods to achieve three main goals: support the ground operation, collect intelligence to confirm targets, and lead and influence the effort to evacuate the civilian population to the south of the Gaza Strip,” it added.

As part of the effort to evacuate the civilian population from the northern Gaza Strip, the unit helped the IDF make more than 30,000 phone calls, send over 10 million text messages, send more than

nine million voice messages, as well as distribute about four million leaflets from the air and land, calling on the population to evacuate. The evacuation effort allows the IDF to broadly strike Hamas infrastructure in the area.

“Using accurate human intelligence provided by the unit, over 300 newfound enemy targets in Gaza were confirmed and over 100 targets were struck as part of the target production effort,” the military said.

The many hundreds of Hamas terrorists arrested have provided Israel with a lot of intelligence, forming a game-changing factor, the IDF official said.

A senior 504 Unit official added: “We received thousands of phone calls from Gazans on a scale

never seen before in the unit. It is evident that the residents of the Gaza Strip are not satisfied with

the barbaric conduct of Hamas. The ordinary civilian understands that Hamas is bringing disaster to the residents of Gaza that will be difficult for them to recover from.”

Would not be surprised if  the IDF moves into Lebanon..  They are not like Biden and will tolerate only so many missiles on their forces from Yemen and Hezbollah.
