Off To Pittsburgh. Where Has God Gone?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is a LTE I sent to the local paper (Savannah Morning News Sunday op ed page) in response to two they published.

"Dahleen Glanton is correct in pointing out how Black Americans have been taken for granted  by Democrats and have little to show for it beyond their current state, ie. poor schools, poverty, a busted family, out of wedlock youth and unemployment among other tragic conditions.

However, I believe she is wrong to criticize Trump for not appearing before the NAACP which has become a shill organization for Democrats and liberal thought and generally embarrass any conservative who mistakenly agrees to appear before them. I used to be a contributor to The NAACP when the organization actually was worth supporting.

In time I believe Trump will appear before black groups that are more objective and more widely embraced and respected  by the black community at large  If he does not then he will have missed a golden opportunity.

Meanwhile he is scaring the Bejesus out of Hillary and her liberal lackeys.

I seldom challenge people with vast military experience but Ed Conant is not an economist and has mistakenly allowed himself to buy into static growth predictions and statistics.

If Trump and Ryan are able to make the kind of fiscal and budgetary changes they envision and hope to accomplish, our economy will explode in growth, tax revenues will surge, government out of control regulations, red tape and corrupt and counterproductive welfare spending will decline and there will be available funds to improve the legitimate needs of our military.

Democrats always leave the military cupboard bare for Republicans when they assume The Oval Office. Reagan had to repair the paucity of prior Democrat Administrations as will Trump the bleeding by Obama.

It pains me to see Iranian boats taunting our ships .I assume Ed Conant , who is a  distinguished retired naval officer, must feel comparable pangs of anxiety and disgust. Ed is an unabashed liberal thus his incorrect assumptions and conclusions regarding Trump, should he become president, perhaps reflect his veiled desire to see Hillary become The Commander in Chief and allows him to ignore the disastrous 8 years of Obama who spent like a drunken sailor and put us in the position we are and about which Ed complains."

A response from a friend, outstanding business executive and fellow memo reader: " ---think you nailed Ed - liberals never think to cut give away programs, only defense."

Once again I am on the road and leaving for Pittsburgh in a few hours to spend time with my son and his family. This will be the first time in probably 15 years we have had the opportunity to spend some truly alone time together though I also intend to  be with my daughter in law and granddaughter.

The purpose of my trip is to view Daniel's accomplishments regarding his group's redevelopment efforts to date, in the Beachview Community, he and his team have undertaken.  Daniel and his organization are trying to establish neighborhood redevelopment trends that, hopefully,  will become standards for the entire nation.  From our conversation, I am somewhat familiar with what they are seeking to do so now it is time to go on site.

When I return Friday, I hope to devote a memo to what I learned and saw.  While there, I also will tour the outstanding art museum  in Greensburg, where his team has already done some re-development and hope to do more.

I posted this link in a previous memo and a friend and fellow memo reader must have just gotten around to clicking on it.

"This should scare the bijesus out of you if you care about the integrity of our voting system.

In my opinion the only solution to solving this problem is to require all States to go back to the "Lever style" voting machines, push the big handle the curtain closes and you push down the levers representing your candidates -- vote counted.

The technology for "hacking" computer systems is only going to get better as time goes on, we need to disconnect the voting process from the Internet or any related computer generated system!

So what if it takes any extra day to count the votes isn't an honest election worth it;  as it is there's enough individual voter fraud without someone being able to change thousands of votes with the click of a mouse!

This is not a partisan issue -- write to your State Legislators, they control the voting process."

This was posted on my Facebook Page by a dear friend and fellow memo reader. (See 1 below.)

Liberal Jews is a sore subject with me because it is unnerving.  You really cannot be Jewish, considered to be bright and continue to drink the Liberal Kool Aid.  I understand the desire to be compassionate, to care for the unfortunate but after the destruction and dependency so much liberal legislation has caused those who embrace its inanity, I just shake my head in remorse and disbelief.  I too am liberal in some aspects of my political philosophy. You would have to be made of stone and heartless not to be but when I look at the results I just cannot fathom how one can ignore the tragic empirical evidence and statistics.

Comments from Aaron Hansom, Managing Editor, PJ Media, regarding college campuses. (See 3 below.)

The influence and embrace of God in American life today is declining.  As I have pointed out time and again, America and God are intentionally linked.  Russia and God are not.

Are we headed in the direction Soros would like to see and finances, ie tyranny and Godless chaos.?  (See 4 below.)

Now for some parting sardonic humor. (See 5 below.)

1) I read a headline yesterday that 90% of Jewish voters in Florida favor Hillary. This is absolutely pathetic, if even remotely true. They clearly are unaware of Hillary's VERY close connection with at least two individuals who hate Jewish people: George Soros and Huma Abadin. Soros is a self hating Jew who takes pride in having worked with the Nazis in Budapest and turned the  names and locations of Jewish people into them. He helped Nazis kill Jewish people. He is a major source of funding of J-Street a number of BDS operations in US and Europe, both of which seek the destruction of Israel.  He is a prominent and large funder of  The Sunlight Foundation, Common Cause,Campus Legal Career and, more recently, Black Lives Matter and the  March on Wall Street  crowd. That means they support efforts to kill more Jews. Soros is very close to Hillary in a multitude of ways, philosophically, financially, and operationally.

The other person on Hillary's Hate the Jews Hit Parade is Huma Abadin. This woman, the wife of Anthony Wiener, another Soros-like Jew, is  the Saudi Arabian daughter of two high ranking officials of the Muslim Brotherhood. Huma's name was recently published on the masthead of the Brotherhood movement's newspaper. She was recently quoted as stating "Jews have too much influence in American politics." Huma has long been Hillary's "Chief of Staff." I have a very strong hunch some other kind of "staff" factors enter their "relationship." Just a hunch, that's all.

How can Florida Jews vote for Hillary with all we know about her? Wow. Just wow.

2)A Message from Patrick Henry About Tyranny
There are, I fancy, few more avid admirers of James Madison than I. But reading through Bernard Bailyn’s extraordinarily brilliant The Ideological Origins of the American Revolution, I have to admit that the anti-Federalists who opposed those, like the temporary allies Madison and Alexander Hamilton, who argued for ratification of the U.S. Constitution in 1787, had a point.

Their basic argument was that the Constitution as framed by the Federalists would subordinate the rights of the individual states and impose exactly the same sort of tyranny that the colonists had rebelled against in 1776. “Examination of the Constitution revealed,” Bailyn noted, “a taxing power in the hands of the proposed national government that would prove to be as unqualified by the restraints of the states as Parliament’s had been by the colonial assemblies.”

Here’s Patrick (“Give men liberty or give me death”) Henry on what would happen should the Constitution be adopted:

the Senate would live in splendor and a “great and mighty President” would “be supported in extravagant magnificence, so that the whole of our property may be taken by this American government, by laying what taxes they please, giving themselves what salaries they please, and suspending our laws at their pleasure.”
The anti-Federalist “Brutus” (probably Melancton Smith) dilated further on the economic calamity that awaited. The government’s power to “borrow money on the credit of the United States,” he warned, meant that
the Congress may mortgage any or all the revenues of the union . . . [and] may borrow of foreign nations a principal sum, the interest of which will be equal to the annual revenues of the country. By this means, they may create a national debt so large as to exceed the ability of the country ever to sink. I can scarcely contemplate a greater calamity that could befal this country than to be loaded with a debt exceeding their ability ever to discharge.

It’s a pity that “Brutus” couldn’t meet Barack Obama. They would have had a lot to talk about.

Dick:

On college campuses all across the country, the Class of 2020 is all set to begin a new phase in life. If the stories we’ve witnessed this past week are any indication, it’s only the beginning of what may unfold in the bubble of academia for them —in both the semesters and years to come.

Changing course from the political correctness embraced by today's campuses, theUniversity of Chicago surprisingly took the side of free inquiry and free expression over "safe spaces” and "trigger warnings.”

"You will find that we expect members of our community to be engaged in rigorous debate, discussion, and even disagreement. At times this may challenge you and even cause discomfort," wrote Dean of Students John (Jay) Ellison. Click here to read Tyler O’Neil’s take on the impact of this decision.

It’s business as usual at other universities.

The State University of New York named an event "Stop White People 2016," which is focused on "diversity, privilege, and the society we function in.” The vice president of student affairs eventually apologized for the controversial name. Read the updated story by clicking here

Meanwhile, University of Texas at Austin students protested the lawful carrying of concealed weapons on campus…by carrying around sex toys. Click here to sound off on the “C*cks Not Glocks” campaign

It gets even worse. The taxpayer-funded Northwestern State University has imposed a speech code on students that requires an application and limits public demonstrations to “one, 2-hour time period every 7 days.”

At Virginia Tech, students are locked out of registering for classes unless they complete an online course focused on “diversity" — in addition to ones on sexual assault and alcohol.

But the real story is the “contributing scholars” with the for-profit DiversityEdu, the company that produces the program. Click here to get a taste of its agenda and to meet the multiculturalist activists.

Lastly, there’s the University of California-San Diego, where one student appears to be guilty before being proven innocentall at the mercy of a professorClick here to read the shocking case

Stay tuned to PJMedia.com for more outrageous stories brought to you from the nation’s college campuses this year.

Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,

4) Pew: Americans giving up on God, miracles
By PAUL BEDARD (@SECRETSBEDARD)

Half of Americans who have left their church no longer believe in God, leading a surge of nearly one quarter of the nation who have no affiliation with any religion, according to a new survey.

Pew Research Center said Wednesday that 49 percent of what they term "nones" left their church and religion because they "don't believe." Another 20 percent said they don't like organized religion. Other reasons included "common sense" and a lack of belief in miracles.

The survey is the latest from Pew that demonstrates a growing trend in America: more and more people are junking religion and many are giving up on God.

Pew interviewed several respondents to try and find a reason. Pew Said for example:

"About half of current religious 'nones' who were raised in a religion (49%) indicate that a lack of belief led them to move away from religion. This includes many respondents who mention 'science' as the reason they do not believe in religious teachings, including one who said 'I'm a scientist now, and I don't believe in miracles.' Others reference 'common sense,' 'logic' or a 'lack of evidence' – or simply say they do not believe in God."

5)Go Maxine!……………...

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately -- illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida ..
... Not me -- I concentrate on solutions for the problems -- it's a win-win situation.
* Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.
* Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levees.
* Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.
Any other problems you would like for me to solve today? Yes!
Think about this:
1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments

COWS
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 12 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

THE CONSTITUTION

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this -- you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians ... It creates a hostile work environment.
