That Miserable Bag Of Goo Mitt Romney Slinks Away Humiliated

The next book I will be reading, when the publisher releases it shortly, is Mark levin's: "Why Democrats Hate America."

+++

I just finished an article in the latest Naval War College Review entitled: "The Future of Precision-Strike Warfare" By John d. Maurer.

The article posed a lot of conclusions because the author hypothecated a lot of scenarios.  I am not sure, therefore, I can summarize because between an aggressor and the attacked there were a multitude of military actions and re-actions cited. Depending upon the amount and success of precision weaponry launched and the nature and effectiveness by the responder there also were a lot of assumed conclusions.

These type of articles raise a lot of interesting questions and for those charged with answering, though I did enhance my knowledge,  my lack of knowledge regarding military strategy,  still left me feeling inept in giving a lucid response.

What I did glean is nations possessing precision strike weapons are more likely to go nuclear if their adversary is also well equipped with these weapons. Thus, precision strike weapons have , perhaps, increased the prospect of a nuclear confrontation. However, this alone does not determine a victory because a variety of responses and capabilities on the part of the attacked must be taken into consideration.

Here, the author goes into a discussion of alternative effective weaponry, capabilities of the military mind, conventional forces that can retake lost territory, the degree of damage done to the attacked and  ability to respond  etc.

One thing was clear.  Early on, America attacked nations with precision weaponry who did not possess such and this warped our thinking now that we are confronted by those (China etc,) who possess such military capabilities.

The Hypocrisy of the Hunter Biden Hustle
By Allen West
|
The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

While I was flying out, I was considering the recent news about the indictments on several federal gun charges for one Hunter Biden. I immediately thought about the '70s song by Van McCoy called "The Hustle." If Special Prosecutor David Weiss and the entire Biden crime syndicate think the American people will fall for this hustle, they are gravely mistaken. I think we can all see through the facade of this delusional charade, and if not, let's delve into it.

First of all, why are we just now getting to an indictment on a felony crime that was committed in 2018? That means the statute of limitations will soon run out. I have served on the Board of the NRA, am currently Chairman of the Second Amendment Institute, and a Life Member of several 2nd Amendment advocacy organizations. I am very familiar with BATF Form 4473. Lying on that form is an immediate federal felony crime with a minimum sentence of five years. Anyone filling out this form is made aware of that penalty, on the spot.

This silly excuse by the Hunter Biden legal buffoons that there was no harm done, well then, anyone that has been found guilty and is serving, or has served, a prison sentence, should file a lawsuit and say, there was no harm done. Hunter's lawyers believe that you can lie on this form as long as you do not commit a crime with the weapon. Lying on the form is in and of itself a crime.

How interesting and ironic that Mr. Gun Control, Joe Biden, now has a son who is guilty of three felony federal gun charges.

What is also interesting, and hypocritical, is that Hunter is charged with lying to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). It is those same FFLs who are being prosecuted and having their licenses revoked by Biden's out-of-control ATF agency for clerical mistakes on Form 4473.

Not only that, Joe Biden recently handed down an executive order on a simple firearm accessory called a "pistol brace," just a piece of plastic enabling better control and handling of a certain design weapon. In a blink of an eye, Biden sought to turn millions of legal and law-abiding gun owners into felons . . . and now his son faces felony gun charges.

How funny, at a time when Hunter Biden is charged with three felony gun charges, the deranged Governor of New Mexico is trying to undermine the constitutional right to keep and bear arms of legal, law-abiding citizens. Let's all be honest, this leftist hustle to protect the Biden crime family is a really bad performance of Kabuki theater. Not to mention, how can Biden claim to be for "gun control" when he released one of the world's most notorious gun dealers in exchange for a WNBA basketball player. Yeah, you just can't make this up.

The real hustle in all of this is the proposed distraction for which no one is falling.

Hunter Biden was going to enter a guilty plea when he felt he was getting a sweetheart plea deal. That included his charges of tax evasion. If Weiss believes that we will fall for this Kansas City Shuffle move, he is grossly mistaken. These felony gun charges – upon which they will try to run the clock out – are minuscule in comparison to the tax evasion issues because those can easily lead back to the "Big Guy." Furthermore, we all know that ol' Joe, who maintains that his son did nothing wrong, will probably pardon that rascal.

David Weiss and the lawless Biden DOJ under Merrick Garland are running a weak doggone hustle on the American people. This poor attempt to save face failed as soon as it was announced. Hunter Biden must be charged with felony tax evasion. Again, consider the hypocrisy of Joe Biden demanding we "pay our fair share.” Well, your boy didn't for some six years. Hunter Biden is a millstone about the neck of Joe Biden, who has willingly kept him close and involved, it appears, in formal government business, just as Joe Biden appears to have been involved in Hunter's illicit business dealings. This little hustle that the Biden crime family has had going on for years is coming to an end. Sadly, we cannot say the same about the Clinton crime syndicate.

Going into 2024, the progressive socialists cannot afford Biden, and his albatross, to be at the top of the ticket. Having said that, one has to wonder, why is California Governor Gavin Newsom heading to China? Perhaps to assuage concerns of Xi Jinping that his bought and paid president may not be running?

All of this reminds me of a quote from Sir Walter Scott's play "Marmion." "O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

When you try to run a hustle on folks, it does eventually collapse on you. This is not just the case for the Biden crime family, but it is also the case with the progressive socialist leftists who are trying to hustle the American people out of their individual rights, freedoms, and liberties. The last folks who tried that, well, that hustle didn't work out so well for the British, and history does have a way of repeating itself. "Don't Hustle Me.”

Steadfast and Loyal.

Iran Expels IAEA Inspectors from Nuclear Facilities
By Hana Levi Julian

The Islamic Republic of Iran has expelled approximately one third of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors from its nuclear facilities, the United Nations’ agency director, Rafael Grossi, said on Saturday in a statement.

In response to the announcement, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately issued a statement saying, “Israel is not surprised by Iran’s actions, which prove that it is violating all its commitments.” In a rare move, the statement was issued on the Sabbath, which this weekend was also the first day of the Rosh Hashana holiday.

Grossi said that Iran had withdrawn the designation of “several experienced Agency inspectors assigned to conduct verification activities in Iran under the NPT Safeguards Agreement,” noting the move followed a similar, previous recent withdrawal of the designation of “another experienced Agency inspector” for Iran.

“These inspectors are among the most experienced Agency experts with unique knowledge in enrichment technology. They have conducted essential verification work at the enrichment facilities in Iran which are under Agency safeguards,” Grossi noted.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the decision came in response to what it called an attempt by the United States, Britain, France, and Germany to misuse the IAEA “for their own political purposes.”

The four nations had called on Tehran in a joint statement at last week’s IAEA Board of Governors’ meeting in Vienna to cooperate immediately with the IAEA, including providing an explanation for uranium traces found at three undeclared sites.

On Thursday, Britain, France, and Germany – known as the “E3” — pledged to maintain sanctions against Iran over its ongoing nuclear and ballistic missile programs, which were set to expire in October, as a “direct response to Iran’s consistent and severe non-compliance” with the defunct JCPOA nuclear deal signed in 2015 between Iran and world powers.

The sanctions ban Iran from developing ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear warheads, as well as barring anyone from buying, selling, or transferring drones and missiles to and from Iran.

Russia has been using Iranian kamikaze drones in its war against Ukraine; North Korea has been exchanging ballistic missile technology with Tehran.

All the inspectors whose designations were removed were French and German members of the IAEA inspection team, which had already been stripped of US and British members.

“With today’s decision, Iran has effectively removed about one third of the core group of the Agency’s most experienced inspectors designated for Iran. This measure, while formally permitted by the NPT Safeguards Agreement, has been exercised by Iran in a manner that affects in a direct and severe way the ability of the IAEA to conduct effectively its inspections in Iran.”

The IAEA director “strongly condemned” the “disproportionate and unprecedented unilateral measure,” calling it a “profoundly regrettable decision by Iran” that he said was “another step in the wrong direction” that “constitutes an unnecessary blow to an already strained relationship between the IAEA and Iran in the implementation of the NPT Safeguards Agreement.”

Grossi noted that the decision makes it impossible for the IAEA to “discharge effectively its verification mandate in Iran” and to” provide credible assurances that nuclear material and activities in Iran are for peaceful purposes.”

Grossi called on the Iranian government to “reconsider its decision” and to “return to a path of cooperation with the agency.”

The McCormick-Casey Pennsylvania matchup lining up to be biggest Senate race in 2024

Muhlenberg College political science professor Chris Borick said two things stand out about McCormick’s entrance into the race. First, unlike last year’s food fight of a GOP primary, the state party and the base have coalesced around McCormick pretty quickly. Second, in doing so (and, again, unlike last year), they have coalesced around a candidate who is the most electable.

“Those decisions are very intertwined with each other,” Borick said, adding, “If this remains the case that McCormick receives the full-throated endorsement of the state party, then Republican leaders in Pennsylvania looked at the dynamics of the 2022 Senate primary and recognized it wasn't a healthy situation if you're looking to win general elections in the state.”
