Saturday (9/9) two of my long time tennis buddies passed away. My long time friends are dropping like flies. I played with Bob Neumann when I first came to The Landings in 2002 and Chuck Kendall for well over 15 years .Chuck was a lobber and Bob had a wicked back hand.

May their souls  rest in peace.

DeSantis Destroys Heckler Accusing Him of Jacksonville Shooting Blame: “Nonsense”

Somebody disrupted one of Governor Ron DeSantis’ press conferences when he was in Jacksonville, Florida. In reaction to the individual who caused the interruption, the Governor delivered a commanding rebuke to the individual. During the event that was taking place at Culhane’s Irish Pub, the protester made an attempt to blame DeSantis for a recent gunshot that had taken place in the city, which the governor had earlier criticized as being unacceptable conduct. In addition, the protester claimed that DeSantis was responsible for the shooting.

DeSantis, who is presently running for president of the United States of America, responded right away to the claim that had been made by the demonstrator and rejected it. In response, DeSantis stated, “I did not permit anything with that.” I am not going to continue to sit here and do nothing while you continue to accuse me of engaging in conduct that is against the law. I am also not going to continue to listen to you accuse me of breaking the law. If you say that to me, I’m not going to take it very well. I’m sorry.

He went on to explain that the person who was responsible for the shooting had a history of being Baker Acted, which indicates that law enforcement had placed him under a hold due to concerns about his mental health. He went on to say that the man who was responsible for the shooting had a history of being Baker Acted. After that, he continued to explain that the individual who was responsible for the shooting had a history of having Baker Acted in the past. On the other hand, because he was not committed against his will, the authorities did not declare that he was ineligible to acquire a handgun due of his mental illness. This is because they did not consider him to be a danger to himself or others.

After then, the heckler continued to cause a disturbance throughout the event and utter things that, according to the recording, were hard to comprehend. In his response, DeSantis emphasized how important it is to be truthful, and he argued against the idea that different people are free to have their own unique perspectives on what the truth is. He asserted that there is only one correct interpretation of the truth, and that it cannot be different for each individual.

DeSantis’s reaction, which he delivered with an authoritative tone, was as follows: “You do not get the right to come here and blame me for some crazy person.” That will not fly with me, and under any circumstances I will not make an exception for it. That cannot be tolerated.

The notion that Governor DeSantis had “allowed” anything to happen was swiftly disproved by the governor, who then proceeded to emphasize the state’s commitment to public safety and law enforcement after doing so. I believe Biden took several million barrels of oil out of our reserve around some $30 plus dollars. Oil is now hovering over $90.  Another stupid move by our president. 

The man is obsessed with climate and reducing carbon emissions by 1/2% at the cost of trillions while he shuts our energy industry down and purchases oil from or enemies where pollution is greater.

Also, the Saudi leader is getting back at Biden for his undiplomatic rhetoric and would love to see him  defeated.

Survey: Almost one-third of Jewish college students exposed to antisemitism

Nearly 1 in 3 Jewish college students has witnessed or experienced antisemitism on campus, survey finds.

Nearly one in three current Jewish college students has witnessed or experienced some form of anti-Semitism on campus, according to a new survey.

The survey was released today by Jewish on Campus, a student-founded antisemitism watchdog group. It was conducted by the polling firm Ipsos and surveyed more than 1,000 college students nationwide who identify as Jewish, as well as approximately 2,000 who reflect the general population of students and are largely not Jewish. The survey was conducted between March and May and has a credibility interval — similar to a margin of error — of 3.1%.

Of the Jewish students, 14% said they had directly experienced anti-Semitism on campus, while another 16% said they had witnessed an anti-Semitic incident.

The findings regarding personal experiences of anti-Semitism show a much lower rate than a similar survey conducted by Hillel International and the Anti-Defamation League in 2021, which found that almost a third of Jewish respondents had personally experienced some form of antisemitism on campus in the previous year. In that survey, around the same number said they witnessed anti-Semitism not directed at them.

Jewish organizations have long expressed concern over campus anti-Semitism, particularly having to do with student conflicts over Israel but also relating to bigotry from across the political spectrum. In 2019, then-US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on anti-Semitism that spurred a series of federal civil rights complaints from Jewish and pro-Israel groups, including Jewish on Campus, alleging that public universities have not done enough to respond to anti-Semitism on their campuses.

Protecting Jews on campus is also a prominent feature of the Biden administration’s national plan for combating anti-Semitism, which was unveiled this spring.

The federal complaints and resulting investigations, which in some cases predated the Trump administration and have continued into Biden’s tenure, have spurred some universities to change their policies. Last school year, months after downplaying the threat of anti-Semitism on his campus, the president of the University of Vermont issued a formal apology to Jewish students and promised to improve the school’s techniques for addressing the issue.

The Jewish on Campus survey also found that 84% of Jewish respondents believe anti-Semitism is a threat to the country, and that more than a third had heard of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement against Israel that has a pronounced presence on college campuses. The words “Israel” and “Zionism” do not appear in the survey results.

Notably, among respondents from the general population, the survey found that only 11% had heard of BDS. Nearly twice as many, meanwhile, 21%, said they had heard of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, a group best known for a controversial definition of anti-Semitism that a range of Jewish groups have pushed universities to adopt, in many cases successfully.

Jewish on Campus CEO Julia Jassey said in a statement that the survey should push college students and administrators to “meet this moment and take anti-Semitism seriously.”

The survey “underscores the urgency of our mission to elevate the voices and experiences of Jewish students,” Jassey’s statement said. “As the new school year begins, these findings provide key evidence of the breadth and depth of anti-Semitism students face.”

While Jewish on Campus has surveyed campus anti-Semitic activity in the past, it relied on self-reported data. This was the group’s first survey conducted via a reputable polling firm, and was funded by the World Jewish Congress. It joins a series of studies, conducted by the ADL, American Jewish Committee and others, that aim to measure bigotry against Jews by tallying reported incidents or polling the public — yielding a range of results and sparking debate over which statements or actions, especially regarding Israel, count as anti-Semitism.

Watched pitiful BAMA game last night. When Saban plays SEC team they are coached by those who coached for him and they know his strategy.  Seems his desire to switch to running game not effective because two of his lineman are beefy and tire after a few plays. Also his recruiting not as effective and the players seem not  bright.  They keep repeating same errors and are undisciplined.  Going to be a long season unless he can get them better educated.

New Biden Nuke Deal is a Farce and Emboldens Iran

IAEA Report Proves Secret Biden Nuclear Deal with Iran is a Fraud

As I discussed in an August 3, 2023 American Greatness article, the Biden administration negotiated a secret, unwritten nuclear deal with Iran last spring that reportedly will provide Tehran with $20 billion in sanctions relief and keep its nuclear program at a level capable of quickly producing weapons-grade nuclear fuel.

A new report by the International Atomic Energy Agency disproves the Biden Administration’s attempts to dismiss the danger of the secret agreement and to falsely portray it as a deal that halted Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Iran also reportedly agreed under this deal to cooperate with IAEA investigations of its nuclear program. Iran is allowed to keep its nuclear infrastructure under the agreement, including advanced uranium centrifuges, and is permitted to continue to develop this technology.

Linked to the agreement is a U.S.-Iran prisoner swap under which Iran received $6 billion in sanctions relief in exchange for releasing five innocent Americans imprisoned in Iran. The prisoner swap was widely criticized as the U.S. paying ransom to free Americans held hostage by Iran. The five Americans were released from prison and placed under house arrest in Iran on August 10. Negotiations to allow them to leave the country are continuing.

To circumvent congressional oversight of this dangerous deal, it was negotiated as a set of unwritten “understandings” and the Biden administration has publicly denied its existence.

But at the same time, Biden officials have privately spun the deal to selected reporters as a diplomatic victory by claiming it suspended Iran’s nuclear weapons program because Tehran agreed not to produce weapons-grade uranium.

This week, Biden administration officials attempted to convince reporters that a new International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report proves this because Iran is producing less near-weapons-grade 60% enriched uranium due to their diplomatic efforts.

This is a clever distortion of the IAEA report.

First of all, uranium enriched to 60% uranium-235 is only ten days to two weeks away from weapons-grade level enrichment, 90%.

Second, while the report says Iran slightly lowered the production rate of 60% enriched uranium, it also states that the amount increased and Iran’s overall stockpile of enriched uranium at various levels – all of which could be used to make nuclear weapons fuel – also increased since the last IAEA report on Iran’s nuclear program issued in May.

Biden officials floated this misleading argument to the Wall Street Journal last month, which ran an article citing unnamed “people briefed on the matter” who falsely claimed that Iran significantly slowed the rate that it was accumulating near weapons-grade uranium.

Fortunately, not every reporter has fallen for the Biden Administration’s spin about its new nuclear deal with Iran. Reuters reported the IAEA concluded that Iran’s stockpile of near-weapons-grade enriched uranium has increased and continues to grow. Reuters also reported that Iran continues to refuse to cooperate with IAEA investigations into two sites where evidence was found of possible covert nuclear weapons work.

The Biden Administration’s misrepresentation of its secret nuclear deal is similar to efforts by NSC official Ben Rhodes in 2015, who used an “echo chamber” to sell the Obama Administration’s nuclear deal with Iran (the JCPOA) to sympathetic reporters.

Obama and Biden officials both attempted to mislead the press about their nuclear deals with Iran as significant accomplishments and tried to hide the severe flaws of these agreements from Congress and the American public.

Both administrations also were determined not to let popular or congressional opposition to these agreements cause them to be reversed or stalled. Both administrations took steps to evade congressional oversight of their nuclear agreements.

In the case of the new secret nuclear deal, Biden officials probably are trying to deflect criticism that could prevent them from providing Iran with the entire $20 billion in sanctions relief it was promised.

This would be a problem for President Biden because the secret nuclear deal appears to have been negotiated to keep tensions with Iran at bay until after the 2024 presidential election. This agreement does not solve or delay the threat from Iran’s advancing nuclear weapons program – it is a short-term deal to placate Tehran until the Biden Administration reopens negotiations with Iran with new concessions in 2025 if Mr. Biden is reelected.

To be clear: despite the new secret Biden nuclear deal which reportedly will give Iran $20 billion in sanctions relief, the IAEA has found that its stockpile of near-weapons grade uranium and other enriched uranium continues to grow. The Biden Administration also agreed to let Iran enrich to the 60% level, a very dangerous concession that will be difficult to walk back. With this concession, the Biden Administration has essentially conceded that Iran will soon become a nuclear weapons state.

This terrible deal can only be described as national security malpractice.  It is urgent that Congress on a bipartisan basis fully investigate this agreement and do whatever it takes to reverse it.
