Pa. House investigative committee recommends contempt proceedings against Philly DA Krasner

BY JIm Melwert

State Republicans started impeachment efforts against Krasner in June

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Pennsylvania House committee overseeing an investigation into the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has moved to find DA Larry Krasner in contempt for failing to comply with a subpoena.

“The purpose of today’s meeting is for us to consider this committee’s duty under Rule 51 of the House to report the willful neglect or refusal of a district attorney of Philadelphia — Larry Krasner — to comply with a subpoena issued by this committee,” explained Chester County Republican John Lawrence, chairman of the House select committee.

Lawrence laid out the timeline, from when the subpoena was first issued on Aug. 3, to Sept. 2, when Krasner filed with Commonwealth Court to quash the subpoena, to last week, when the committee offered an extension.

But that extension had strings attached, including a requirement that Krasner acknowledge the authority of the committee. One day after Krasner rejected that offer, Lawrence convened the committee for the vote.

“His refusal is in willful, clear and indisputable violation of House Rule 51,” he said. “I believe that the committee now finds itself under a duty to report this matter to the House.”

The committee is looking, in part, at how funds intended for law enforcement and crime victims are actually being spent.

It voted 5-0 in favor of reporting the failure to comply to the House, including “yes” votes from Philadelphia Democrats Amen Brown and Danilo Burgos, and Bucks County Republican Wendi Thomas.

The House could take it up as early as Tuesday. If found in violation, possible penalties are unclear.

Krasner and his lawyers argue the committee is purely political. They say it serves no legitimate legislative purpose and violates the rights of Philadelphia residents to choose their own leaders.

WIPE HER OUT FOR BEING WHO SHE WAS AND DON'T TELL THE STORY ABOUT HOW SHE CAMETO BE THAT PERSON.

+++

The world knew her as "Aunt Jemima," but her given name was Nancy Green and she was a true American success story. She was born a slave in 1834 Montgomery County, KY... and became a wealthy superstar in the advertising world, as its first living trademark.

Green was 56-yrs old when she was selected as spokesperson for a new ready-mixed, self-rising pancake flour and made her debut in 1893 at a fair and exposition in Chicago. She demonstrated the pancake mix and served thousands of pancakes... and became an immediate star. She was a good storyteller, her personality was warm and appealing, and her showmanship was exceptional. Her exhibition booth drew so many people that special security personnel were assigned to keep the crowds moving.

Nancy Green was signed to a lifetime contract, traveled on promotional tours all over the country, and was extremely well paid. Her financial freedom and stature as a national spokesperson enabled her to become a leading advocate against poverty and in favor of equal rights for folks in Chicago.

She maintained her job until her death in 1923, at age 89.

Nancy Green was a remarkable woman... and has just been ERASED and relegated to obscurity, another sad consequence in the name of political correctness.
