Lapid Lied, Telling UN Assembly ‘Large Majority of Israelis’ Want 2-State Solution. They Don’t.

(SEPTEMBER 23, 2022 / JEWISH PRESS) Prime Minister Yair Lapid channeled Benjamin Netanyahu at his finest on Thursday night, when he delivered a well-written speech with just the right amount of strong Israel vs. threatened Israel, the Holocaust, peace in our time (ok, that was Lapid channeling his inner Shimon Peres), and the startup nation Israeli-made widgets that are keeping your heart pumping as we speak – I gave him very high marks on both text and delivery – and then, as had been promising for at least a day, he promised a Palestinian State, even after mentioning Israel’s unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip in 2005 which resulted not in peace but instead, “Since we left Gaza, over 20,000 rockets and missiles have been fired at Israel. All of them at civilians. All of them at our children.”
He then shared with the dignitaries who had gathered to hear him from around the planet his difficult experience of taking his special-needs little girl to the bomb shelter under Hamas rockets in May 2021. If the PM wanted to make the case against giving up territory to the Arabs in exchange for a piece of paper with the word “peace” on it, he could have done a heck of a job.
But instead, he said this:
“An agreement with the Palestinians, based on two states for two peoples, is the right thing for Israel’s security, for Israel’s economy and for the future of our children. Peace is not a compromise. It is the most courageous decision we can make.”
It was as if this Yair Lapid had gone out for a smoke while the earlier Yair Lapid was proving to the Assembly how unreliable those same Arabs are in keeping the peace in exchange for territory. And then he said:
“Despite all the obstacles, still today a large majority of Israelis support the vision of this two-state solution. I am one of them.”
He lied.

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid declared his support for the two state solution while calling on the Palestinian Authority and the Arab world to make peace with Israel during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly Thursday.
Prime Minister Lapid began his speech by noting how far Israel has come in the seven decades since its founding, rising from the ashes of the Holocaust to become a world leader in many fields and technologies.
"How did this happen?" he asked. "It happened because we decided not to be a victim. We chose not to dwell on the pain of the past, but rather to focus on the hope of the future."
"We didn’t only reach the Promised Land, we are building the Promised Land," Lapid declared.
Lapid noted that Israel still faces threats, the "nuclear threat" of Iran, and "the demise of truth."
He warned the representatives of the UN member nations: "They also hang over your heads, even though you may try to deny them."
The prime minister demanded that the UN treat Israel as an equal state with equal rights to all other states. "I am not a guest in this building. Israel is a proud sovereign nation, and an equal member of the United Nations. We will not be silent when those who wish to harm us, use this very stage to spread lies about us."
"Antisemitism is the willingness to believe the worst about the Jews, without questioning. Antisemitism is judging Israel by a different standard than any other country," he said.
Lapid accused Iran of "conducting this orchestra of hate" against Israel, and noted its persecution of women, LGBTQ people, and minorities.
"Iran’s regime hates Jews, hates women, hates gay people, hates the West. They hate and kill Muslims who think differently, like Salman Rushdie and Mahsa Amini. Their hate is a way of life. It is a way to preserve their oppressive rule," he said,
He demanded that the UN do more to stop Iran, which openly declares its intentions to destroy the Jewish State while funding Hezbollah, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad to wage war against Israel
"This building is silent. What are you afraid of? Has there ever been a time in human history where silence stopped violence?" he asked.
"If the Iranian regime gets a nuclear weapon, they will use it," he warned, stating that "the only way" to prevent this from happening was to present a credible military threat, "and only then – to negotiate a Longer and Stronger deal with them."
Lapid chastised western leaders for seeking a weak agreement with Iran which would not prevent it from developing nuclear weapons for long. "Today, the world is choosing the easy option. It chooses not to believe the worst, despite all the evidence to the contrary. Israel does not have this privilege."
He said that if the world would not act to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, Israel would. "This time we are not standing empty-handed against those who want to destroy us. The Jews today have a state. We have an army. We have great friendships, first and foremost with the United States. We have capabilities and we are not afraid to use them. We will do whatever it takes."
Israel's Prime Minister declared: "Iran will not get a nuclear weapon. We will not stand by while there are those who try to kill us. Not again. Never Again."
Turning to the peace process with the Palestinian Authority, Lapid said that "Israel's economic and military strength allows us to protect ourselves but it also allows us something else: To strive for peace with the entire Arab world, and with our closest neighbors – the Palestinians.:
He declared his support for the Two State Solution, stating that "an agreement with the Palestinians, based on two states for two peoples, is the right thing for Israel's security, for Israel's economy and for the future of our children."
"Peace is not a compromise. It is the most courageous decision we can make. Peace is not weakness. It embodies within it the entire might of human spirit," he said.
He said that Israel has "only one condition" for the establishment of a Palestinian state: "That a future Palestinian state will be a peaceful one. That it will not become another terror base from which to threaten the well-being, and the very existence of Israel. That we will have the ability to protect the security of all the citizens of Israel, at all times."
"You can ask us to live according to the values in the UN Charter, but you cannot ask us to die for them," he said.
He noted his own family's history: "My father was a child in the Ghetto, my grandfather was murdered in a concentration camp. We want to live in peace but only if it gives us security, not if it threatens us even more."
"Look at Gaza. Israel did everything the world asked of us, including from this very stage. We left. 17 years ago we dismantled the settlements, took apart our military bases. There is not a single Israeli soldier in Gaza. We even left them 3,000 green houses so they could start to build an economy for themselves. What did they do in response?
"In less than a year, Hamas, a murderous terror organization, came to power. They destroyed the greenhouses and replaced them with terrorist training camps and rocket launch sites. Since we left Gaza, over 20,000 rockets and missiles have been fired at Israel. All of them at civilians. All of them at our children," he reminded the world leaders.
Lapid recounted how he had to wake his autistic daughter up at 3 am .to bring her to a bomb shelter during the last conflict with Gaza.
"All those who preach about the importance of peace, are welcome to try running to a bomb shelter at 3 am with a girl who does not speak. To explain to her, without words, why there are those who want to kill her."
Lapid reiterated that Israel is ready for peace as long as its enemies stop attacking it and agree to work with the Jewish State for a better future.
"We only have one condition: Stop firing rockets and missiles at our children. Put down your weapons, there will be no restrictions," he said.
"Put down your weapons, bring home our children who are being held in captivity – Hadar and Oron, may their memory be a blessing; Avera and Hisham, who are still alive – and we will build your economy together.
"Put down your weapons and prove that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are not going to take over the Palestinian state you want to create. Put down your weapons, and there will be peace," Lapid declared. "That is the minimum I owe my grandfather, my father and my daughter."
"We are not going anywhere" and "the Middle East is our home. We are here to stay. Forever," Lapid said.

Terror attack reported near Modi'in in central Israel
Multiple victims wounded in apparent stabbing attack near Modi'in.
A terrorist stabbing attack was reported near Modi'in in central Israel Thursday night.
The incident occurred on Route 443 at the Shilat Junction just outside of the city of Modi'in, with preliminary reports indicating one man was wounded in the attack. He is currently listed in light condition.
MDA and United Hatzalah emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene and treated the victim before evacuating him to a hospital.
The terrorist was shot and killed by a police officer during the attack.
Earlier Thursday evening, an IDF soldier was lightly injured after being run down by a Palestinian Arab driver in the town of Huwara in Samaria.
Israeli security personnel opened fire on the driver, amid fears the incident was a terrorist attack.

Friend, 37, a respected 12-year veteran of the FBI and a SWAT team member, was suspended Monday, stripped of his gun and badge, and escorted out of the FBI field office in Daytona Beach, Fla., after complaining to his supervisors about the violations. He was declared absent without leave last month for refusing to participate in SWAT raids that he believed violated FBI policy and were a use of excessive force against Jan. 6 subjects accused of misdemeanor offenses. This American hero, the father of two small children, has blown up his “dream career” because he could not live with his conscience if he continued to be part of what he sees as the unjust persecution of conservative Americans. “I have an oath to uphold the Constitution,” he told supervisors when he asserted his conscientious objection to joining an Aug. 24 raid on a J6 subject in the Jacksonville, Fla., area. “I have a moral objection and want to be considered a conscientious objector.” Friend, who did not vote for Donald Trump in the 2020 election, said he told his immediate boss twice that he believed the raid, and the investigative process leading up to it, violated FBI policy and the subject’s right under the Sixth Amendment to a fair trial and Eighth Amendment right against cruel and unusual punishment. In his whistleblower complaint to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, obtained by The Post, Friend lays out multiple violations of FBI policy involving J6 investigations in which he was involved. He says he was removed from active investigations into child sexual exploitation and human trafficking to work on J6 cases sent from DC. He was told “domestic terrorism was a higher priority” than child pornography. As a result, he believes his child exploitation investigations were harmed. He also has reported his concerns about a politicized FBI to Republican members of Congress, among 20 whistleblowers from the bureau who have come forward with similar complaints. Among Friend’s allegations: The Washington, DC, field office is “manipulating” FBI case management protocol and farming out J6 cases to field offices across the country to create the false impression that right-wing domestic violence is a widespread national problem that goes far beyond the “black swan” event of Jan. 6, 2021. As a result, he was listed as lead agent in cases he had not investigated and which his supervisor had not signed off on, in violation of FBI policy. FBI domestic terrorism cases are being opened on innocent American citizens who were nowhere near the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, based on anonymous tips to an FBI hotline or from Facebook spying on their messages. These tips are turned into investigative tools called “guardians,” after the FBI software that collates them. The FBI has post-facto designated a grassy area outside the Capitol as a restricted zone, when it was not restricted on Jan. 6, 2021, in order to widen the net of prosecutions. The FBI intends to prosecute everyone even peripherally associated with J6 and another wave of J6 subjects are about to be referred to the FBI’s Daytona Beach resident agency “for investigation and arrest.” The Jacksonville area was “inundated” with “guardian” notifications and FBI agents were dispatched to conduct surveillance and knock on people’s doors, including people who had not been in Washington, DC, on Jan. 6, 2021, or who had been to the Trump rally that day but did not go inside the Capitol. Friend says he was punished after complaining to his bosses about being dragged into J6 investigations that were “violating citizens’ Sixth Amendment rights due to overzealous charging by the DOJ and biased jury pools in Washington, DC.” His top-secret security clearance was suspended last week because he “entered FBI space [his office] and downloaded documents from FBI computer systems [an employee handbook and guidelines for employee disciplinary procedures] to an unauthorized removable flash drive.” In a Sept. 16 letter from the head of FBI human resources, he was told he was losing his security clearance also because he “espoused beliefs which demonstrate questionable judgment [and demonstrated] an unwillingness to comply with rules and regulations.” In his whistleblower complaint, Friend describes “reprisals” from his supervisors after he voiced his conscientious objections. He says they ignored his complaint about “manipulative casefile practice [which] creates false and misleading crime statistics, constituting false official federal statements. The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol holds its first public hearing to reveal the findings of a year-long investigation, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Thursday, June 9, 2022. The hypocrisy and disconnect of the partisan Jan. 6 probe “Instead of hundreds of investigations stemming from an isolated incident at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, FBI and DOJ officials point to significant increases in domestic violent extremism and terrorism around the United States. “At no point was I advised or counseled on where to take my disclosure beyond the reprising officials above; the threatened reprisal constituted a de facto gag on my whistleblowing.” On Aug. 19, he first told his immediate boss, Supervisory Senior Resident Agent Greg Federico, that he believed “it was inappropriate to use an FBI SWAT team to arrest a subject for misdemeanor offenses and opined that the subject would likely face extended detainment and biased jury pools in Washington, DC. “I suggested alternatives such as the issuance of a court summons or utilizing surveillance groups to determine an optimal, safe time for a local sheriff deputy to contact the subjects and advise them about the existence of the arrest warrant.” Federico told him it would have been better to just “call in sick” rather than voice his objection and “threatened reprisal indirectly by asking how long I saw myself continuing to work for the FBI.” Friend refused to participate in SWAT raids that he believed violated FBI policy and were a use of excessive force against Jan. 6 subjects. Four days later, Friend was summoned to Jacksonville to meet his next-level bosses, Assistant Special Agents in Charge Coult Markovsky and Sean Ryan, about his refusal to join the SWAT raid. He told them about his concerns over “irregular” case handling of J6 matters that he believed were in violation of a legal rule known as “Brady” that requires prosecutors to disclose evidence that would exonerate a defendant. They asked if he believed any J6 rioters committed crimes and he replied: “Some of the people who entered the Capitol committed crimes, but others were innocent. I elaborated that I believed some innocent individuals had been unjustly prosecuted, convicted and sentenced.” Dems are using the Capitol riot to hunt political foes, not real threats: Devine Markovsky then asked Friend if J6 rioters who “killed police officers” should be prosecuted, even though no such thing happened. When Friend pointed out that “there were no police officers killed on January 6, 2021,” Markovsky told him he was being a “bad teammate.” Both agents “threatened reprisal again by warning that my refusal [to go on the SWAT raid] could amount to insubordination. References were made to my future career prospects with the FBI.” Friend was labeled AWOL the day the raid took place and stripped of his pay. A week later, he was told to meet the top agent in Jacksonville, Special Agent in Charge Sherri Onks, who told him he needed to do some “soul searching” and decide if he wanted to work for the FBI. When he told her “many of my colleagues expressed similar concerns to me but had not vocalized their objections to FBI executive management,” she told him his “views represented an extremely small minority of the FBI workforce.” She then shared the emotional experience of fearing for her own life on Jan. 6, 2021, when she was sitting on the seventh floor of the secure J. Edgar Hoover Building, FBI headquarters, after protesters one mile away “seized the Capitol and threatened the United States’ democracy.” Agents used as ‘pawns’ Friend says his concerns are shared by large numbers of rank-and-file FBI agents across the country who believe they are being used as pawns to pursue the political agenda of the bosses in Washington, DC. Tyrannical old Joe’s secret police state These kinds of abuses of the law are a “morale killer” for field agents, he says. Many agents, who joined the FBI in the wake of 9/11, are keeping their heads down because they are close to their 20-year retirement with full pension. But he says they are equally disgusted at being forced to take part in the politicization of federal law enforcement. Other whistleblowers say that disquiet grew after the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida on Aug. 8. Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, who is working with these heroic FBI agents, has been trying to introduce legislation to strengthen the bureau’s woefully inadequate whistleblower protections. Friend’s complaint will be a test case. FBI Director Christopher Wray ignored Grassley’s letter alleging malfeasance at the bureau. AP/Charlie Neibergall In a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Aug. 11, Grassley alleged that a committee of FBI field agents had been to see Wray to express the concerns of agents in all 56 field offices across the country that “the FBI has become too politicized in its decision-making.” Grassley further alleges “those concerns were removed from this year’s final report” of the FBI’s Special Agents Advisory Committee. Wray ignored Grassley’s letter along with a dozen other letters from the dogged Iowa senator alleging gross malfeasance at the bureau. But unrest is growing among field agents about the weaponization of the FBI against the Biden administration’s political opponents under Wray. He can’t ignore it for long. And: Even if this article is not correct The FBI must be fumigated and everyone at the senior level must be forced out because the culture must change and those who fear speaking out must be liberated. +++ Epstein Evidence Reportedly Being Hidden By FBI (PresidentialWire.com)- An online sleuth with a large following thinks he has discovered proof that the FBI may be holding potentially explosive secret records regarding Jeffrey Epstein. A recent response to a Freedom of Information Act request, according to The Anonymous Techno Fog, a self-described lawyer and writer with almost 400,000 followers on Twitter and a well-read Substack blog, suggests the troubled bureau may be concealing something. All documentation pertaining to any interviews Epstein had with the FBI was sought by Techno Fog. He posted the response he claimed to have received online: “The records responsive to your request are law enforcement records; there is a pending or prospective law enforcement proceeding relevant to these responsive records, and release of the information could reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings,” Techno Fog tweeted that he requested the transcripts of the Jeffrey Epstein interview from the FBI. “The FBI response: providing the Epstein records would interfere with law enforcement proceedings. Either the FBI is lying or something is up. (Bet on FBI lies…) — Techno Fog (@Techno_Fog) September 9, 2022 Epstein, the enigmatic creep who housed many minors on his Caribbean island home and was known to mix with prominent figures such as former President Bill Clinton, died in 2019 while detained at the Manhattan Correctional Center. His death was deemed a suicide at the time by authorities. The FBI admitted that Epstein had worked as an informant by releasing earlier papers. The FBI released a document through its information “vault” in 2018 with a note that stated, “Epstein has also delivered information to the FBI as agreed upon.” That cooperation most likely referred to the financier’s assistance with a probe into the now-defunct Bear Stearns investment bank, where he had worked. Techno Fog questioned the claim that the documents were being protected because of an ongoing investigation and claimed that the agency’s denial of his request is a tacit acknowledgment that the bureau does have other records. According to Technofog, “the Epstein records are more likely to humiliate the FBI.” “The DOJ and FBI have a history of abusing the law enforcement exception in the FOIA to withhold investigative materials from the public. We’ve observed them doing it. They’re doing it once more. Techno Fog claims he filed the FOIA request because he believes Epstein and the FBI collaborated on prior child abuse cases. Graham was dumb to propose his abortion legislation at this time. He is a grandstander. c) As interest rates rise they will cause consumers to pull back spending and thus corporate earnings need to be revised downward. d) We seldom approach a prospective recession with such favorable statistics and thus we could have a shallow and short lived one. Why? The consumer's balance sheet is favorable. There are plenty of jobs available which go begging. However, Inflation is neutralizing salary increases and that is a negative. e) Our strong dollar works in our favor because we are an importing nation. f) The WSJ recently reported an increasing number of foreign companies are relocating some of their operations to America because we have available energy, unlike Europe. g) I believe energy prices will rise because demand is greater than supply and we are entering the period when demand rises. That said, a steeper recession in Europe will tamp down demand but should there be a cold winter that could sustain demand. h) October, November and December are historically positive market months and I believe they will be again. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It ain't getting any easier. He's not patrician enough. +++ Ron the Magnificent | Opinion JOSH HAMMER , NEWSWEEK OPINION EDITOR AND HOST, "THE JOSH HAMMER SHOW" Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has done it again. In using already-appropriated government funds to fly 48 illegal alien Venezuelan migrants from San Antonio, Texas, to the tony blue enclave of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, DeSantis has once again demonstrated his mastery of the political game. For at least the second time this year, with the first being his bringing The Walt Disney Company to heel when that company badly erred and picked an unwinnable fight over gender ideology, DeSantis has highlighted for all his sound judgment, shrewd political instincts, and ability to frame the national political narrative to his liking. The situation at America's southern border is nigh catastrophic. As of earlier this week, in fiscal year 2022, U.S. Border Patrol has encountered more than 2.4 million illegal aliens. That is substantially higher than the previous record, set—you guessed it—just last fiscal year, when Border Patrol encountered just under 2 million illegal aliens. Fiscal year 2022, incidentally, isn't even over. Prominent border towns such as Del Rio, Texas; Eagle Pass, Texas; and Yuma, Arizona have been completely besieged by the murderous transnational criminal cartels who now de facto control the U.S.-Mexico border. Those cartels are taking advantage of the Biden administration's gross negligence, flooding the border with unvetted migrants and the de facto chemical warfare that is (usually Chinese-manufactured) fentanyl. In countless border towns across the four states sharing a land border with Mexico, crime is now rampant, migrant facilities are overfilled to the point of inhumaneness, and basic social services, such as hospitals and medical facilities, are completely overtaxed. Nor, while the problem is most acute in states such as Texas and Arizona, is the issue narrowly confined to border states. Due to the Biden administration's reckless resuscitation of Obama-era "catch-and-release" policies, countless masses of illegal aliens crossing the border and pleading invariably bogus "refugee" or "asylum" status are also being shipped to the nation's interior. They will purportedly one day stand before our overloaded immigration courts to formally press their claims, but in reality they will usually just escape into the shadows, never to be heard from again Amidst this horrific status quo, and Biden's gross dereliction of his solemn duty to secure the border, what exactly is the sane half of America that actually wants a secure border supposed to do? Beseeching the administration to stanch the bleeding has simply not worked, so hard-headed action is needed. Such a state-level urge to secure itself against unwanted intruders is entirely justified, both morally and constitutionally; as the late Justice Antonin Scalia reminded us in the 2012 U.S. Supreme Court case of Arizona v. U.S., "the power to exclude from the sovereign's territory people who have no right to be there" is the "defining characteristic of sovereignty." Thus began Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's prolonged busing campaign, which has been months ongoing, to ship hundreds of illegal aliens from the Lone Star State to blue, "sanctuary" jurisdictions, such as Chicago, Washington, D.C., and New York City. The idea was simple: Make these sanctimonious elites, who are incentivizing a genuine humanitarian disaster with their open-borders policies and obtuse rhetoric, feel at least a modicum of border states' day-to-day pain. But Abbott's efforts, however warranted, didn't seem to have a huge effect on the national discourse. Enter Ron DeSantis. And: De Santis has Trump's logic, similar ideas and solutions without the personality drag. He would make a fine president if his accomplishments in Florida are any basis for judging. +++ Patriot, As the crisis at our southern border worsens, the Left seems to be up in arms and offended about everything except the crisis itself. I haven't heard a peep about the millions of people who are being told by Biden they can just walk freely into our country. I haven’t heard a peep about these people being used and abused by the cartels. There’s been no outrage over immigrants drowning in the Rio Grande. No outcries about the 50 immigrants found dead in the back of a truck in Texas. I’ve heard no outrage about any of that. The reality is, Patriot, illegal immigrants are crossing the border and being left on the streets in border towns. Joe, the woke Left, and their corporate press lapdogs are strategically ignoring that the problem at our border exists. Failed Border Czar Kamala Harris is dealing with the crisis by simply declaring the border is secure, claiming there is no crisis. Biden is asserting that there are actually fewer migrants coming in through our southern border. The reality is, the border is more open than ever before under Biden’s watch and we’ve had more illegal crossings take place under his administration than at any other time in our nation’s history. This is not a situation where Biden tried his best and it just didn’t work. This was an intentional action Biden took to reverse policies that were effective. The Left has been chirping about political stunts to deflect from the real issues happening at the border, but the biggest political stunt by far has been Biden coming in as president and reversing policies that worked just to virtue signal to his base. The impact of Biden’s border crisis has left our communities ravaged by destruction and despair. The sheer volume of the cartel’s dangerous drugs being brought in at such a rapid pace, it’s nearly impossible for local communities to tackle. Biden’s refusal to take any action is devastating American communities across the United States with fentanyl now the number one cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18-45. Americans are being victimized by criminal aliens illegally crossing the border. These crimes are especially hard to stomach because if Biden would’ve just done his job, the crime would have never happened. The fact of the matter is, Patriot, the false outrage from the Left has nothing to do with humanity or decency – it has to do with Democrats’ seemingly inherent need to posture themselves as morally superior.
