Palm Beach County Commissioner Dave Kerner (D) explained his decision to endorse Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for re-election on "Fox & Friends First."

RON DESANTIS SENDS TWO PLANES OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO MARTHA'S VINEYARD

DAVE KERNER: I've been a registered Democrat since I registered to vote at the age of 18. I don't really see it as going against my party. I'm a Floridian, an American first. But there's a confluence of reasons. The trajectory of our state, which I spoke about in my endorsement, his support for law enforcement, his management of the COVID 19 pandemic. There is's a host of reasons why I endorsed him.

In many ways the market went up irrationally and probably must go down in the same fashion.  The next 3 months, seasonally speaking, are better than most and I believe we will see some nice rallies in companies that report good earning comparisons, have decent yields, and balance sheets and favorable prospects as head winds gather from the rise in interest rates.

Many stocks are oversold but may continue to go lower until a washout begins to make them even more buyable than they are now. I still favor energy (DVN, SUN, KMI, EPD). I have had my head handed to me in T and VZN so reasonable quality and decent dividends, that are fairly dependable, have not proven defensive enough.

For those with real patience, technology is still a sector that makes sense.

The current market is proving to be a test of ones fortitude and guts but bear markets historically reverse and uncover substantial future opportunities and I suspect will do so again.

We live in a troubled world and country and this is no help.

Though I saw this coming and even was fairly accurate in calling it in a timely manner I failed to react enough and should have raised more more cash.

I am also premature because I have begun to nibble and everything I buy goes lower.

I can always blame Trump and Putin because Biden is doing a great job and nothing is his fault according to the adoring mass media. Inflation is simply a mirage and the cost of everything is imaginary.

Less we forget what he alone did -

THE TRUTH IS . . .

The truth is,  Donald Trump was arguably the most egotistical, arrogant bastard to ever sit in The Oval Office behind the famous desk.

There were a few others, like John, Abe, and Teddy, but history has tamed their legacy.

Trump lacked compassion and sympathy.

Although he was overly sensitive to criticism, he was openly critical of others.

He was a self-centered pragmatist.

He was uncontrolled and non-compliant.  He did things his way.

He was often boldly busy doing his own work, instead of the work favored by half the nation.

He praised the art of negotiation but did not compromise.

He was terrible to work for and micromanaged almost everything and everybody.

He was unprepared, apolitical, and unconnected.

He had to scrounge for appointees, and still made errors.

He was called almost every castigating word in the book and blamed for things that were not of his doing.

He encouraged hate and betrayal.

He had few friends, many enemies and followers.

He reveled in retaliation and denunciation.

He was assertive and pragmatic.

He said and did things that were offensive, disruptive, and obnoxious.

So, what did he accomplish for "We the People?" against unbelievable odds.

Now please watch the one-minute video!

So we "aborted" accomplishment for destructive behaviour, head of a family dynasty engaged in alleged corruption, which the FBI is forbidden to investigate, a mean spirited politician who spent 40 plus years in Congress accomplishing nothing of note. and you know the rest.

U.S. May Allow Payment to Iran for Hostages

The Biden administration may be preparing to issue a national security waiver authorizing the transfer of $7 billion to Iran from South Korean-based accounts subject to U.S. terrorism sanctions. The transfer would proceed in exchange for the release of U.S. hostages and would reportedly be the first step in a multi-phased nuclear deal with Iran. However, the payment may occur prior to the accord’s announcement in order to evade legal prohibitions on suspending Iran sanctions prior to congressional review of a nuclear agreement. Transferring $7 billion to Iran in exchange for U.S. hostages would be a significant change in U.S. policy, which prohibits paying for hostages, and would ignore requests by Gold Star Families to compel Tehran to pay federal terrorism judgments prior to the release of funds.

Expert Analysis

“Paying for hostages is a dangerous policy that incentivizes the kidnapping of American citizens. This is also a slap in the face to Gold Star Families who asked President Biden not to release any funds until all terror judgments are paid. Congress should not allow the administration to circumvent the law by releasing billions in funds tied to terrorism sanctions prior to congressional review of the broader nuclear deal.” – Richard Goldberg, FDD Senior Advisor

U.S. and South Korea Coordinating on Iran Deal, Hostages

Following a meeting last week between U.S. Special Envoy for Iran Rob Malley and South Korea’s First Vice Foreign Minister, Malley tweeted, “We thank the Republic of Korea for their close partnership, including their efforts to help ensure the return of our wrongfully detained citizens in Iran and to reach a deal on JCPOA.” Malley’s tweet apparently links the potential release of $7 billion held in South Korea to the broader nuclear deal negotiations. In late August, leaked details of the nuclear agreement revealed that the release of $7 billion from South Korea would be the first step taken in a new nuclear deal’s sequencing.

Evasion of Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act

A presidential national security waiver would likely be necessary to facilitate the transfer of funds from South Korea to Iran. The Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act (INARA), however, explicitly restricts the president from waiving statutory sanctions as part of a nuclear agreement with Iran for 30 days — giving Congress time to review and potentially reject the deal. By ostensibly tying the $7 billion to the release of prisoners and issuing a waiver prior to announcing a nuclear deal, the administration may intend to provide Iran upfront sanctions relief that would otherwise be in violation of INARA.

A Dangerous Precedent of Paying for Hostages

Even if the $7 billion release of funds to Iran were truly disconnected from the nuclear deal, policymakers should object to a policy of paying for the release of U.S. hostages. In 2015, the Obama administration negotiated a similar scheme alongside the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, sending Iran $400 million — the first installment of a $1.7 billion payment — at the same time Tehran released four Americans. The result was more hostages taken by Iran, including Baquer Namazi, Xiyue Wang, Morad Tahbaz, and Emad Shargi. If $1.7 billion encouraged the regime to take more hostages, $7 billion will guarantee much more hostage-taking to come

The Politicization of the Department of Justice

By Harmeet K. Dhillon Dhillon Law Group, Inc.

The following is adapted from a speech delivered on September 16, 2022, in Washington, D.C., at Hillsdale College’s Constitution Day Celebration.

THE SEAL of the U.S. Department of Justice reads, “Qui Pro Domina Justitia Sequitur”—“Who prosecutes for Lady Justice.” Depictions of Lady Justice are as familiar as they are instructive: she stands blindfolded while holding the scales of justice, representing her unyielding devotion to equal justice under the law. Contrary to this ideal, the DOJ today appears to be increasingly motivated by partisanship. Compounding the problem, it has access to the powers of the modern surveillance state. As someone passionate about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, I believe there is no higher priority than addressing this danger.

Judicial Watch Sues Secret Service Over Hunter Biden’s Gun

When Hunter Biden gets into trouble, he drags others down with him. And that includes government agents whose role to protect the presidential family is perverted.

We filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security for Secret Service records related to the investigation of Hunter Biden’s gun, reportedly disposed of in a dumpster in Delaware (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (No. 1:22-cv-02841)).

Judicial Watch sued after the United States Secret Service, a component of DHS, failed to respond adequately to our March 25, 2021, FOIA request for records or communications about the reported purchase, possession, and disposal of a firearm owned by Hunter Biden found in a Delaware dumpster circa October 2018.

We, like many Americans, want to know whether and how the Secret Service intervened for Hunter Biden in an incident involving a gun owned by him.

In October 2020, The Blaze reported that in October 2018, Hunter Biden’s handgun was taken by Hallie Biden, the widow of then-presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son Beau. In 2021, POLITICO reported:

Hallie took Hunter’s gun and threw it in a trash can behind a grocery store, only to return later to find it gone.

Delaware police began investigating, concerned that the trash can was across from a high school and that the missing gun could be used in a crime, according to law enforcement officials and a copy of the police report obtained by POLITICO.

But a curious thing happened at the time: Secret Service agents approached the owner of the store where Hunter bought the gun and asked to take the paperwork involving the sale, according to two people, one of whom has firsthand knowledge of the episode and the other was briefed by a Secret Service agent after the fact.

The Secret Service and the Biden administration apparently are in cover-up mode for Hunter Biden. Whether its Hunter Biden’s laptop, his business practices and travel, or these documents related to the careless disposal of a gun in a dumpster near a high school, this administration continues to put up unlawful roadblocks to any effort to investigate the activities of the Biden family, particularly Hunter.

We’re pursuing other lines of inquiry involving Hunter Biden.

Through FOIA requests, we have uncovered significant information about Hunter Biden’s Ukraine connections. He served on the board of directors for Ukrainian energy firm Burisma Holdings despite having no previous experience in the energy industry.

In December 2020, we received records from the State Department tying Hunter Biden’s Burisma Holdings’ lobbying operation to an influence-peddling operation involving the Clinton campaign during the 2016 election. We also uncovered State Department records showing that former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie “Masha” Yovanovitch had specifically warned in 2017 about corruption allegations against Burisma Holdings.

In October 2020, we obtained State Department records that included a briefing checklist of a February 22, 2019, meeting in Kyiv between then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and Sally Painter, co-founder and chief operating officer of Blue Star Strategies, a Democratic lobbying firm, which was hired by Burisma Holdings to combat corruption allegations. The briefing checklist notes that Painter also planned to meet with Foreign Commercial Service (FCS) Officer Martin Claessens “regarding the Burisma Group energy company.” (Painter was implicated in the Clinton-era fundraising scandal we exposed that involved the alleged sale of seats on Commerce Department trade missions to Democratic National Committee donors.)

In September 2020, we received State Department records that include a January 17, 2017, email from George Kent, the Obama administration’s deputy assistant secretary of state in charge of Ukraine policy, which was copied to then-U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, highlighting Russia-linked media “trolling” Joe Biden over “his son’s business.” An email was sent four days prior to the inauguration of President Donald Trump to a redacted recipient and copied to Yovanovitch with the subject line “medvedchuk-linked vesti trolls Biden.” Kent writes: “Burisma – gift that keeps on giving. (With medvedchuk affiliated Vesti pushing the troll like storyline on visit day)”

In June 2020, U.S. Secret Service records showed that, for the first five and a half years of the Obama administration, Hunter Biden traveled extensively while receiving a Secret Service protective detail. During the time period of the records provided, Hunter Biden took 411 separate domestic and international flights, including to 29 different foreign countries. He visited China five times.

We are also suing the DHS for Secret Service records on Hunter Biden’s travel and security costs, and suing the State Department for messages sent through the SMART (State Messaging and Archive Retrieval Toolkit) system that mention Hunter Biden.

Biden Deal With Iran Hits Roadblock Unexpectedly

(FreedomBeacon.com)- The Biden administration’s deal with Iran over nuclear weapons has hit a roadblock after the country was allegedly unwilling to further negotiate. Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned during a press conference that it is “unlikely” that the U.S. and Iran would agree on a nuclear deal anytime soon, according to Newsmax.

“What we’ve seen over the last week or so in Iran’s response to the proposal put forward by the European Union is clearly a step backward and makes prospects for an agreement in the near-term, I would say, unlikely,” Blinken told reporters.

“Iran seems either unwilling or unable to do what’s necessary to reach an agreement, and they continue to try to introduce extraneous issues to the negotiations that make an agreement less likely.

Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid called for the U.S. and Europe to stop pursuing “failed negotiations with Iran,” leading reports suggesting that the U.S. did “toughen up.” A senior official also reportedly offered information to the Europeans that showed that Iranians were lying to them while talks were ongoing.

The warning of Iran’s unwillingness to continue negotiations came as early as September 8, according to reporting by conservative magazine American Pigeon, leading to fears of how Russia will take advantage of the situation. In a bipartisan letter signed by 50 members of Congress, written by Congressman Josh Gotthheimer (D-NJ), he expressed his concern over the final language included in any deal with the Iranians.

“It has been reported that under this proposed deal, Russia will be the de facto judge of compliance and the keeper of Iran’s enriched uranium, without any oversight mechanisms by the United States or our European partners,” wrote the Congressmembers.

Other reports suggest that Russia has been a “key partner” in the Iran deal discussions, leading many to be skeptical.

Former President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2018 believing that the plan actually put Iran on a path to procuring nuclear weapons. Since, President Biden has attempted to undo the withdrawal, but efforts have been largely unsuccessful.

Iran has reportedly demanded that the International Atomic Energy Agency probe into suggestions of Iran’s nuclear activities be terminated, prompting France, Germany, and the U.K. to issue a joint statement.

“In light of Iran’s failure to conclude the agreement on the table, we will consult with our international partners on how best to deal with Iran’s continued nuclear escalation,” the statement read.
