Fellow Memo Readers:  On March 15th, mail Donald Trump a postcard that expresses our support . And we, in vast numbers, from all corners of the world, will overwhelm the man with our support and belief in him and his efforts.

Show the media and the politicians we are standing with him.And most importantly, bury the White House post office with complete support of our President - We are honored that he was willing to take on this job!If each one of us — every supporter - writes even a single postcard and we put them all in the mail on the same day, March 15th...Well, you do the math!Write one postcard. Write a dozen! Take a picture and post it on social media. On March 15th, mail your messages to:

President Donald J. Trump
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

Last night Erick Erickson believes, as I and so many of my fellow memo readers do, Trump became president.

In doing so, he also made the Democrats look petulant and childish. Liberals cannot swallow their pride so they will continue to remain outside main stream thinking and will, like Wasserman, Ellison, Warren and Pelosi take the party further to the left and possibly into oblivion. (See 1 and 1a below.)

The Muslim Brotherhood are spending a large sum of money on PR in America.

It is a sad commentary that spending money on propaganda is effective when so many of those who read it are incapable of reasoning.  This is why lack of education, an ability to reason can and will be the ultimate downfall of our society. This is why a basic education in civics, history, reading and learning to  think and reason must be restored to our public curriculum.

To make matters even worse money flows in the Halls of Congress and is effective in swaying opinions.  (See 2 below.)

A reflection about Chuck the schmuck. How do you get your reputation back.  Same can be said for Justice Thomas, Robert Bork.

Character assassination is the sad technique liberals love to employ.   They are now using it on Trump and the women are dressing in "virginal"  white.(See 3 below.)

1) Last Night, the Man Became the President

The truth is that Presidential speeches to joint sessions of Congress are quickly forgotten. Within a week, the nation will be on to other topics. But while the speeches are forgotten, the impressions they leave will live on. Last night, Mr. Trump finally became President Trump. That should scare the crap out of Democrats.

President Trump’s speech was, frankly, a conventional speech to a crowd that favors convention. He sounded the part. He hit the right notes. His remarks on Ryan Owens and having Mrs. Owens there were electric and unifying. It was a moment of non-partisanship in a hyper-partisan age. That moment allowed all but the most cynical partisans to be American, not partisan. The President put the nation ahead of the tribe. That matters.
It matters because things have felt out of sorts for some time and the last month has been discombobulating and confusing for so many people. Last night, President Trump restored normalcy. It has a different rhythm and a different cadence, but it is familiar. That familiarity is reassuring.
The President’s performance should scare Democrats because they had placed their bets that President Trump is incapable of rising to the occasion. But he did. They cannot now rely on letting President Trump self immolate. They are now going to have to relate to real people in the heartland again, but how can they?
In saying, “My job is not to represent the world. My job is to represent the United States of America,” President Trump connected with the middle class across demographic lines and Americans witnessed a Democratic Party sitting on their hands. When the Congress gave Mrs. Owens a standing ovation, Keith Ellison — the would be chair of the DNC — and Debbie Wasserman Schultz refused to stand.
Last night, the President showed he really has found his footing. He showed he really can be up to the task of being everyone’s President. He showed he is invested in the job.
The substance of his speech was not conservative. There was big government for everyone. Republicans cheered protectionism and government mandated paid family leave. They cheered further government interference in the free market and healthcare. But again, the substance of the speech will all be forgotten. No President’s wish list in a speech like this ever advances too far.
What does advance is how people left the speech feeling. And Americans had every reason to feel reassured that things will be okay in the Age of Trump.
Now if he’ll just stay off Twitter for 24 hours.

1a) Trump's speech and our infantile left

Tuesday's address to a joint session of Congress was without a doubt the best speech President Donald Trump has ever given, perhaps the best speech to a joint session of Congress since the great Ronald Reagan.  But who could watch it and not be embarrassed by our infantile, bitter Left?

It was uplifting, optimistic, full of unifying words, and obvious to everyone. The pathetic exception was the Democrats in Congress. And those were the ones who did not boycott the event.

Like spoiled children, who had not gotten their way, they refused to applaud at the most obvious good-for-the-country lines.  In fact, they were like a clique of mean girls in middle school who have decided to target one of their own.

They knew what they were hearing was monumental and good for the nation. But consumed in schoolyard jealousy, they got angry, not glad. In doing so, they showed no intention of working "with" President Trump.  They are still scrambling for, and planning to sabotage him any way they can.

They proved one thing:  They do not have America's best interests at heart.

Is there any member of Congress more horrid than Nancy Pelosi?  Her "we're all wearing white and purple to protest Trump" nonsense means ...  what?  She rolled her eyes, snickered to her seatmates like an ill-mannered child, and, of course, refused to stand and applaud, no matter how positive Trump's words.  The Democrats would not applaud or stand when he spoke of government ignorance of the criminal decimation of Chicago, Baltimore, and Detroit.  They would not applaud when he spoke of protecting American citizens by securing our borders.  They would not applaud when he spoke about the companies who have promised to invest billions in U.S. manufacturing which will provide thousands of new jobs, or when he spoke about de-regulating business to unleash the economy.  They do not want the economy unleashed; it would expose the dismal failure of the eight-year Obama administration.
The Democrats also refused to approve of his call to enforce our immigration laws.  These leftists favor illegal immigrants over American citizens which is why they institute sanctuary cities.  They do not distinguish between the criminals among them and those who commit no crimes.  To the left, they are all the same.  Yet to normal Americans, they are not.

Nor do our elected Democrats aim to protect and defend the citizens of the United States.  They oppose the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism" despite the graphic, barbaric actions of ISIS.  They do not approve of "extreme vetting" to keep potential terrorists out of America.  They would not even applaud Trump's stated allegiance to and alliance with Israel!  Who are these people?   By two-thirds of the way through the speech, it began to seem as though they were enemies of America.  Schumer stared into his lap. Steny Hoyer was stone faced.  None of them could applaud Scalia or his proposed replacement, Neil Gorsuch.

Perhaps the deplorable behavior of the Democrats throughout the speech was shame.  There are 94 million people out of work, 43 million living in poverty and 43 million on food stamps.  This is Obama's legacy.  He transformed American into something it was never meant to be.  Iran is building its nukes.  Cuba is still a communist nightmare.  The Middle East is  a seventh circle of hell.  They should be embarrassed by these facts.  Poverty has increased. Crime has increased.  Maybe that is why they stare at their laps and do not clap.  They all know Obamacare is collapsing but cannot cheer Trump's plan to repeal and replace it with something that is affordable and actually provides health care.

The Democrats booed Trump's new agency, VOICE, Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement.  God forbid the public should be informed about the tragedies inflicted on innocent Americans by criminal illegals.
And we all know the Left hates the military, so of course they sat on their hands as Trump spoke of increasing defense spending.  Rebuilding our military after Obama's evisceration of it is anathema to the Democrats in Congress.  They seem to loathe any and all methods of self-defense, be it national or individual.  Such has been the state of the nation for the last eight years.

For those who initially thought Trump to be comic relief,  those who were stunned by his candidacy and his victory, this speech must be a systemic shock; the man is presidential  after all.  Let us hope they admit it and readjust their antipathy to something nearing acceptance.  Democrats, let the man do his job and get behind him.  And one more thing, Democrats, grow up!  You're all too old to behave as you did tonight.

Muslim Brotherhood: We’re Spending $5 Million on PR in U.S.

A senior Muslim Brotherhood official in Sudan told an Arab newspaper* that the group’s international leadership has launched a major PR campaign to influence the U.S. media and members of Congress to oppose the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
The Brotherhood official predicted that the group would not be designated by the Trump Administration and that the Muslim Brotherhood Terrorist Designation Act introduced into Congress would fail.
He claimed that his organization had made contact with governmental officials and members of Congress and convinced them that the Brotherhood is opposed to terrorism, even though the Brotherhood’s Palestinian wing—Hamas—is designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the U.S. State Department.
The author of the article reports that, according to sources within the Brotherhood, the group has spent $5 million on the PR campaign, with contracts being signed last month. Individuals close to Hillary Clinton put Brotherhood officials in touch with PR firms.
The effort to influence American media included having articles and essays published to argue against designation of the Brotherhood.
Indeed, a slew of articles defending the Brotherhood were published as it was reported that the Trump Administration was planning to designate the Brotherhood. Most of these argue that the Brotherhood is opposed to terrorism and violence. As I wrote in December 2014, this notion is patently false.
The Brotherhood also thanked the leaders of Turkey and Qatar for defending the organization. Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have designated the Brotherhood as a terrorist group.
The Egyptian government warned that the Brotherhood has a lobby in the U.S. disguised as civil society organizations. An Egyptian government website cited a study done by a think-tank in Cairo that concluded that the Brotherhood is trying to influence U.S. policy using affiliates in America that “aim to spread the Muslim Brotherhood’s extremist ideologies in the U.S.,” in the words of the website.
A senior UAE official likewise said that the Brotherhood’s American lobby was responsible for political blowback over his country’s previous designation of the Brotherhood and two of its U.S.-based entities, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Muslim American Society (MAS).
The allotment of money for this campaign is an indirect acknowledgement by the Brotherhood that it exists in the U.S., and its activity in the country is important enough to fight for. The claim that the Brotherhood has an American wing will earn you a branding as a bigoted “Islamophobe,” but it isn’t so controversial in the Arab press (even though the Brotherhood insinuates the same thing there).
Foreign influence operations are at the top of the news right now in the U.S., but they center about Russia. Why is it acceptable to say that Russia would try to influence our policy, but it is bigoted to suggest that the Brotherhood—the largest Islamist movement in the world—would do the same?

Miguel Estrada: 'I Would Never' Accept Appointment as Solicitor General

Tony Mauro, The National Law Journal

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher partner Miguel Estrada on Wednesday knocked down suggestions that he was in the running to be the next U.S. solicitor general, citing “the deterioration of the confirmation process over the years.”
In a statement emailed to The National Law Journal, Estrada said, “I would never accept a job that requires Senate confirmation or, for that matter, willingly place myself in any situation (e.g., a hearing room) in which convention requires that I be civil to Chuck Schumer." Estrada was responding to an NLJ article Tuesday describing him as a top candidate.
Associated Press reporter Mark Sherman also tweeted Wednesday that Estrada told him he “would never accept” a job requiring Senate confirmation.
Estrada’s sharp rebuke and reference to the Democratic New York senator stems from his experience after President George W. Bush nominated him in 2001 for a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. After protracted delay, a contentious confirmation hearing, and a filibuster by Senate Democrats, Estrada withdrew his name in September 2003.
Several well-positioned Republican lawyers said privately in recent weeks that Estrada was a top possible nominee for the position as solicitor general. White House press secretary Sean Spicer was asked last week specifically about Estrada, who served as an assistant solicitor general in the 1990s.
Estrada’s full statement: "I was immensely lucky to have the chance to serve our country years ago, but it did not work out. I have only respect and best wishes for those who agree to serve despite the deterioration of the confirmation process over the years, but everyone who knows me in this town knows that I would never accept a job that requires Senate confirmation or, for that matter, willingly place myself in any situation (e.g., a hearing room) in which convention requires that I be civil to Chuck Schumer."
