America finally wakes up to the threat China poses. Now if our so called allies can do the same, we could present  an infinitely more united front that could force the CCP to address some serious issues because of their own economic vulnerability. They are very debt leveraged.

In Landmark Speech, Pompeo Says China is World’s Biggest Threat 

Pompeo seeks to build international coalition to combat Communist vision

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday identified China as the world's greatest threat and called on Western nations to unite against Beijing as part of a global effort to eradicate the Communist Party's growing control of the international order.

In one of his most significant foreign policy speeches since taking office, Pompeo railed against the Communist Party's gross human rights abuses, cyber espionage operations, and routine bullying of Western nations. Pompeo said the world must immediately act to ensure that Communist China's vision for world dominance is not realized.

Pompeo spoke frankly about the dangers Communist ideology poses to the world and sought to reestablish America's democratic principles, saying the country will never bow before Beijing.

"If we don't act now, ultimately, the CCP will erode our freedoms and subvert the rules-based order free societies have built," Pompeo said during his remarks at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in California. "If we bend the knee now, our children's children may be at the mercy of the CCP, whose actions are the primary challenge to the free world. If the free world doesn't change Communist China, Communist China will change us. There can be no return to past practices just because they're comfortable or convenient."

The location of the speech was not a coincidence. Pompeo chose the Nixon Presidential Library due to Nixon's efforts to open up relations with China. While Pompeo praised Nixon's efforts to bring China into the community of nations, he warned that continued deference to Beijing would change the world for the worst. Pompeo's speech marked the fourth time in recent weeks that senior Trump administration officials took China to task on the public stage. White House national security adviser Robert O'Brien delivered a similar speech last month, as did Attorney General William Barr. The goal of these speeches has been to wake up the American people and Western nations to the threat posed by Communist China.

America's engagement with China has backfired, Pompeo said.

He also said America cannot continue to deal with China as if it is an honest broker. The Communist Party thrives on deceit and has no interest in playing fair with other nations. This has been on full display as China hacks international businesses, stealing their trade secrets and proprietary research. It lied about the coronavirus pandemic, leading to chaos and death across the world. And China eagerly serves as a top ally of America's top enemies, including Iran and Russia.

"China ripped off our prized intellectual property and trade secrets," Pompeo said. "It sucked supply chains away from America, and then added a widget of slave labor. It made the world's key waterways less safe for international commerce."

America can "no longer ignore the fundamental political ideological differences between our countries," Pompeo said. Communist ideology must be battled and not become accepted as normal.

"I reject the notion that we're living in the age of inevitability, that some ‘trap’ is pre-ordained, that CCP supremacy is the future," Pompeo said. "Our approach isn't destined to fail because America isn't in decline."

Joe Biden’s Scholarship Choice

He’d kill a program that helps 86% of graduates, mostly black and Hispanic, go to college.

Amid all of the money Washington wastes, here’s some good news: Education Secretary Betsy DeVos announced this week that her department will award at least $85 million over five years for the Washington, D.C., Opportunity Scholarship Program.

The scholarships let lower-income parents of children trapped in failing public schools attend the charter or private schools of their choice. According to the Education Department, nearly 98% of students with Opportunity Scholarships graduate from high school, compared with 69% of D.C. public school students. Some 86% go onto college, while more than 90% of scholarship recipients are black or Hispanic, and the average family income is less than $27,000 a year.

This is money well spent on upward mobility and opportunity, yet Democrats have been trying to kill the scholarships since they began in 2004. In 2009 Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin succeeded in passing a prohibition on any new scholarships unless the program was fully reauthorized, though Republicans reversed that in April 2011 during budget negotiations with Barack Obama. In subsequent years President Obama consistently sought to reduce or zero out funding.

Enter Joe Biden, whose own children benefitted from private schools. But in his recent unity platform with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Mr. Biden specifically calls for eliminating the D.C. scholarships. It takes a special political animus to kill scholarships for poor minorities while proposing literally trillions of dollars in new spending on countless other programs.

There’s no moral or fiscal justification for killing the scholarships. Either Mr. Biden doesn’t realize this is in his platform, or he’s decided he must sacrifice the children to the demands of the teachers unions and the political left. This is a scandal in plain sight.

Democrats want to allow illegals to vote, be part of the census count and approve of mail in voting yet, favor no voter identification.  All of these acts increase the possibility of fraud and certainly have a negative impact on assuring one of our most sacred rights, fair and honest elections, are not tainted.

Democrats prefer increasing welfare and taking the funding from our defense budget. The first responsibility of government is to protect and defend its citizens not make them dependent.

Democrat mayors and other critical local public servants, governing some of our largest and most prominent cities, have proven incompetent, cowardly and seem willing to actively  side with marauding anarchists who are destroying these cities. The budgets of many of these cities and states are also in serious financial straits, have crippling  unfunded pension issues and yet the elected seem eager to reduce their police departments when the need for law and order enforcement is rising.  Their dereliction of duty appears, in many instances, driven by political motives and hatred of Trump and in total disregard of their sworn legal oaths and obligations.

Is this the America our Founding Fathers envisioned?  Is this the legacy patriotic and worthy Americans want to leave for the next generation? Is the next generation prepared and educated in what America stands for or are they too self-engaged and ignorant of our nation's ideals? Is the current America best capable of meeting the many challenges from our adversaries?  We have two choices - Is Biden and the type of Democrats I have described above the worthiest to lead us? Are Republicans and Trump any better?
