FOR THE FIRST TIME, SAUDI ARABIA PUBLICLY OBSERVES ISRAELI MILITARY DRILLS
Last week marked the beginning of the annual Iniochos military exercise, in which military contingents from around the world gather in Greece to work with partner forces on honing their detection and striking skills, in part by demonstrating new techniques and equipment. Participants this year include the United States, Israel, Cyprus, France, Italy, and Slovenia, along with observers from over ten other countries—including, for the first time ever, Saudi Arabia, which has no formal relations with the Jewish state. Bradley Bowman, Ryan Brobst, and Seth Frantzman explain the significance of this step closer to outright cooperation between the two countries:
Israel is using Inochios 2022 to rehearse some of the combat capabilities it would need to conduct strikes against Iran’s nuclear program. . . . Saudi Arabia increasingly acknowledges in public what it has long understood in private: Tehran and its terror proxies—not Israel—represent the real threat to regional peace and security.
Perhaps that is why Riyadh was willing to have Israeli and Saudi fighter jets escort (albeit at different times) a U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer Bomber on a patrol mission that circumnavigated the Arabian Peninsula in October 2021. Earlier this year, a common Saudi-Israeli perception of the Iranian threat may have also motivated both Israel and Saudi Arabia to participate in the U.S.-led International Maritime Exercise, the Middle East’s largest maritime exercise.
The more Israel, the United States, and its Arab partners conduct military exercises together, the more they can strengthen the readiness of their individual forces, share intelligence on threats, and develop common best practices for countering Tehran-supported terrorist groups that endanger Israelis, Americans, and Arabs alike. This is especially important as Iran and its proxies have stepped up attacks in recent months, from drones targeting Israel to strikes on Saudi energy infrastructure to attacks on ships at sea. In fact, the Iranian-backed Houthis just conducted a three-week-long assault against Saudi Arabia, demonstrating the danger Tehran poses to regional stability

This was sent to me by a dear friend and fellow memo reader. This is what solid and creative teaching/education is all about.
Dear Patriots,
Yesterday, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) joined U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in a meeting to discuss the ongoing investigation into the Biden family’s deep web of foreign business dealings. Many of the Bidens’ ventures are entangled with adversary nations, including the Chinese Communist Party.
The infamous “Hunter Biden laptop” details at length the nefarious transactions between Rosemont Seneca, Hunter’s private equity firm, and foreign governments and entities. Rosemont Seneca received millions of dollars in foreign contributions all while Hunter Biden’s father sat in the highest office in the world!
The entire 87 page report can be found by following the link below. We encourage you to read and digest the level of criminality that has been taking place for decades at the highest level of the US government.

Both Johnson and Grassley focused their investigation on the seemingly endless pile of evidence showing Hunter Biden’s clear financial crimes over the period of time that his father served as Vice President and President.
They also accused the media of an intentional suppression campaign aimed at hiding the truth from the American public. The media’s disingenuous coverage and outright lies regarding the Biden family’s dealings and the laptop helped Biden in making his way to the White House in 2020.
Sincerely
Joseph Otto

It can be costly when those who steal believe racism is "baked" into our society!
Stinging rebuke to woke Oberlin College
It might be said that an Ohio appellate court, March 31, struck a blow against woke-ism by upholding a multimillion-dollar verdict against Oberlin College. At issue was a tortious response by the college to a shoplifting incident, November 9, 2016, at Gibson's Bakery in Oberlin. The incident led to protests by Oberlin students and administrators against the bakery, accusing the owners of racism and a history of racial profiling. (A black male student had been apprehended by a bakery employee for shoplifting and he and two black women were arrested in connection with the incident. In August 2017 they pleaded guilty to lesser charges.)

The bakery and its owners, Allyn W. Gibson and his son David R. Gibson (both now deceased), sued the college and its dean of students for libel, interference with business relationships, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, winning a jury verdict of $44 million, reduced to $31 million (comprising compensatory and punitive damages, and including attorney's fees of $6 million).
In upholding the judgment of the trial court, the appellate panel affirmed that the attacks on the bakery were actionable, not opinion, and that the plaintiffs were not public figures. A woke court, arguably, would have ruled that a flyer distributed by college administrators and students accusing the bakery of racism and racial profile was merely opinion The appellate ruling noted, however, that the bakery and its owners had not voluntarily injected themselves into the controversy at issue, nor in the "extreme public criticism" that followed. This ruling rejected the claim of the college that the plaintiffs were public figures -- and therefore the applicable standard for libel should have "actual malice" not negligence.
The decision further pointed out that witnesses at trial testified that they never saw evidence of racism at the bakery, while testimony from college officials on the racism issue was mere hearsay. (Witnesses for Oberlin testified they had heard about racism at Gibson's.)
The decision also took note of plaintiffs' contention that the damage award was just 3% of the assets of the college. and, in connection with the punitive damages award, will not serve to deter wrongful conduct. The appellate panel rejected this argument. But in affirming the award of attorneys' fees one and a half times the actual hourly fees of more than $4 million, the court seemed to recognize that counsel for the college was overly zealous in defending the college, including 32 depositions (some lasting several days) and 33 motions.
The followlng portion of a paragraph from the unanimous appellate decision (at page 6) indicates how the college administration was implicated. ("Raimondi" is Meredith Raimondi, then dean of students):
{¶15} The Gibsons also presented evidence that members of Oberlin’s senior administrative staff had communicated via several text and email messages to express their anger about the Gibsons pressing charges against the three Oberlin students and their feelings that the college should not work with the Gibsons to resolve this situation. For example, the interim assistant dean was present in court in August 2017 when the Oberlin students were convicted for their role in the November 2016 bakery incident. From the courthouse, she sent a text message to Raimondo, stating that “[t]his is the most egregious process” and that “I hope we rain fire and brimstone on that store.”
The media's "usual suspects" have, thus far, ignored the latest development in the travail of Gibson’s Bakery. And perhaps that is for the better; one can imagine a media headline along these lines: "Ohio Court ignores systematic racism in Oberlin bakery."
What next? The appellate decision itself indicates that the college has, throughout, maintained an imperious mindset -- based not on a sense of right and wrong, but of a felt need to appease a student body, thus encouraging young people to accept the notion that the definition of "opinion" and "fact" is up to the leftist cabal to determine.
The college, by the way, has yet to apologize for its tortious treatment towards Gibson's, in business in Oberlin since 1885, fifty-five years after the college was established.

We could use one in America: "Honest Reporting." I am a supporter.
This morning on the train to Jerusalem, I was sitting next to a young woman, she couldn’t have been older than 20 or 25. Fast asleep from exhaustion, she was wearing the uniform of the border police, with her M-16 strapped to her arm.
Tattooed in tiny letters along her neck were the words “warriors aren’t born, they’re built.”
This young woman, barely older than a kid, is heading into a danger zone, where she will be protecting me today. And all of us.
When she awoke, I told her that I lead an organization that defends Israel in the global media. I thanked her for her service…and she thanked me for mine!
Moments like this are why I live in Israel. People like her are why I have faith in humanity.
And supporters like you make it all possible.
Though it is vastly under-reported in global media, Jews are under attack this week: just for living in our homeland, while Muslims, Christians and Druze are under attack for daring to live in peace with us. Israel herself, and all the good she represents, is under attack.
When the media attack people like the courageous young woman on my train as “war criminals” because they dare to stand strong and defend our basic human right to live in peace and safety, I, and my entire team here at HonestReporting, will be there to defend her.
We will stand up in the media as we did in recent weeks on CBS, FOX and Newsweek. When journalists behave unethically we will expose them, and possibly get them fired as we did five times last year. We will continue to trigger investigations in governments around the world, and next week I have been invited to speak to UNESCO at their headquarters in Paris.
DONATE NOW
Israel is under attack, and all of us have a role to play, for Israel and the Jewish people. We need your support now more than ever.
Thank you for your service: which allows us to do ours.
Very best wishes for peace and safety from all of us here in Jerusalem,
Daniel Pomerantz - CEO
