The Bolton long knives finally struck and Trump apparently decided they were too philosophically out of sync with his own less hawkish views and procedures.
Bolton's more hawkish views were not new and the issue and whispers were building. Personally I believe Trump will miss having the more hawkish in your face and often polarizing views Bolton is known to present forthrightly.
Once again we are reminded how delicate toes are in this very vicious town/White House. Perhaps the most delicate are Trump's who claims he always is open to all views.
Bolton is quite clear eyed and consequently quite cynical and finds it difficult to believe you can trust the likes of radical Islamist's (Taliban) and N Korea's leader etc. and Trump, believing himself to be the supreme negotiator, just eventually could not accommodate Bolton's advice and positions.
Were I ever in need of a cold bath assessment I would always want a John Bolton on my team But he never been one of the estalishment's favorites.
No doubt we will hear a lot of commentary and I suspect the mass media's tactic will be to come down hard on Trump's hiring and firing approach.
