My Position On Those Who Hate Trump.

From a dear friend and fellow memo reader as pertains to this morning's memo:  "As usual you are not a pessimist, but you have all justification to be.
The impotent Republicans allowed our Universities to be penetrated by Arabs, Muslims, Communists, etc………… Now the youth that is coming out of those schools are regular citizens and they see the World and America in a totally different light.

THAT is very scary, because again the Republicans either they don’t understand or are not capable of fighting this wave.

The Democrats are in control of our education system that nobody paid attention to, and still nobody pays attention to. They allowed Obama to win, knowing who the real Obama was/is and what he wanted to do to the Country.

Sorry, to add to your sadness, but the facts are the facts. M.."

And:

My wife asked why I spoke so softly in the house.
said I was afraid Mark Zuckerberg was listening!

She laughed.

! laughed.

Alexa laughed. Siri laughed.

In this morning's memo I presented the Jeykll and Hyde aspect of Trump's personality now let's explore the basis for the antipathy towards this president by looking at what he wants to accomplish.  Through his brashness, pugnacious style and actual "Tweets" Trump has set forth a clear and unmistakable path where he wants to take America.

First, he believes we need secure borders and he has sought to construct barriers that are more effective than what we presently have.

This effort has been thwarted partly because of cost but more importantly because the opposition have been  able to portray his effort as mean spirited,  an overblown effort to create a crisis when there is none. Statistics disproves their objections.

Second, he believes federal funds should be withheld from state and local entities who have established sanctuary protection that disregards federal laws and results in increased criminality by those who have already broken our laws  by entering our nation illegally.

If you believe a nation has a right to protect its borders you will support Trump and if you believe nation states have no moral right to have borders you will oppose Trump.  You decide.

As to sanctuary matters, if you believe states can disregard federal laws with impunity  then you basically place yourself on the side of those who have contempt for the rule of law and would support another civil confrontation which could lead to war.  Furthermore, you willingly disregard the issue of protecting America from potential terrorism and certainly believe criminals have rights to roam where they wish.

Based on both cases above hating Trump because of his efforts in this regard seems a bit extreme.  I submit those who support open borders and sanctuaries are more interested in increasing favorable voting patterns  than supporting  morality. Those who embrace what, in my mind, are radical positions are seeking to solidify their power at the ballot box. But them I am naive.

Now let's address the last basic issue pertaining to illegal immigration.  Trump would favor the resolution of allowing a legislative path to citizenship for those called "dreamers."  These are legitimate children of parents who brought them to America and they have integrated into our society, have basically lived useful and productive lives and grown up in America. There are those on the far right in the Republican Party who oppose this approach and event many who immigrated legally have issues because they did it the right way and they bolt when it comes to favoring citizenship obtained outside the law etc.It is a legitimate "stand in line" matter.

Because there are large numbers of "dreamers" the issue must be resolved in a manner that does not encourage its continuance.  Once again is this something that should form the basis of hatred towards Trump?  You decide.

Another critical issue that allows Trump haters to rant is trade.  Trump believes various past  trade agreements penalize American manufacturing and thus employment and the building of factories in our country.  In essence, he argues we have allowed other nations to take advantage of our nation resulting in the export of jobs and, more specifically in the case of China, theft of America's intellectual property.  Trump wants to defend America from past poor trade policies yet, is more than willing to eliminate all tariffs.

He has chosen the route of raising tariffs as a way of both calling attention to the imbalance we have allowed as well as using it as a method of  creating pressure to rectify the perpetuation of these inequalities.

Trump has been aggressive in raising tariffs and, in my opinion, overly optimistic about the results.  Nevertheless, he has re-negotiated several former trade agreements that do re-balance our trade relationships and the vote to approve is now before Congress.  The issue for the Democrats is their reluctance to allow Trump and the nation a victory prior to the 2020 election.  In order to increase antagonism toward Trump, the anti radical crowd have done everything to be critical of Trump's trade approach.

Once again I ask, should Trump be hated/castigated for being tough on behalf of America's .economic interests?

Now let's move overseas.  Trump has demanded NATO nations live up to their stated commitments because  America 's partners, for the common defense, should carry their share of the load.  Over this NATO has split into two factions.  In the case of some Europeans nations, they have quietly upped their spending but in the case of others their leaders have used Trump's demands to turn the matter into a method of obtaining  increased political support on the home front. 'Who is the ugly American shoving us around?,

Populism is increasing around the world  and much of it is being used to intentionally weaken the stability of various democracies by through chaos, social discord and spurious  education.  These advocates seek chaos as a way of gaining opportunities to radicalize stable governments.

Russia is one such destabilizing force both in The Middle East and in America and because Trump was accused of collusion, which has proven did not occur, the foundation for disrupting his entire agenda and presidency has become a controlling mechanism for increasing hatred toward the man and disrupting his efforts to  bring about change and thus, weaken the "Establishment.

For reasons of brevity I have ignored other Trump efforts which have been used to build a "wall" of hatred against the man but I will agree  his own behaviour and "Tweeting" have given his detractors significant leverage.  That said, any objective bystander cannot ignore the fact that much of the antipathy toward Trump is because he has chosen to  respond to the purposeful arrow attacks from the mass media et. al.  Unlike Dole, Romney and McCain, who could never muster the gumption to defend themselves and go on the offensive, Trump relishes, even looks for, a good fight because he is willing to get down in the gutter  and counter-punch.  This is historically uncharacteristic of Republicans who slink from a fight because they are "Patrician" and above the fray.  Goldwater and Reagan are the last two who gave back but the former was cast as extreme because he engaged in an act of self torpedoing with his comment about "extremism in defense of liberty is no vice."

Finally, we have Trump the pre-president man whose sullied  playboy past has been used by those so inclined to hate Trump because he does not measure up to their own  hypocrisy and double standards and here I am thinking of Hollywood, the bastion of American Character.  Assuredly, Trump has given them an entire garden of peccadillo like behaviour starting with Stormy Daniels, his thuggish pay off associates along with encouraging biased support from the mass media whose reporting was intended to and directed at those blemished souls  who sought to pile on in order to enhance their own goals of instant notoriety

In summation, Trump is unlike any president we have had in recent time and the nation is more divided because of a variety of   pre-Trump factors, most notably GW's Iraq War and Obama's desire to transform America.  The foundation for these increased societal fissures were laid in the '60's when anti-authority activity became acceptable, the seeds of  radicalism were planted. and America, for the first time in its history, was willing to lose a war.

If Trump was passive and allowed those of a different mind set to roll over him he would not be as hated but , as noted earlier, he is a counter puncher and not a push over.  He may have an inflated view of his ability but he is an accomplished businessman who is undeterred and anxious to achieve because he is a builder.  That is his personality and he has a record  to sustain his view, overblown as it may be.

You cannot seek high office unless you have an ego and, here again, one's ego cuts both ways.

In conclusion, I continue to view Trump's accomplishments and efforts separate from the man whereas, those who are predisposed to hate him cannot separate. There is much I admire, and even find enticing, about Trump. There is much I recognize is distasteful about Trump and gives me anxiety pangs.  However, he is my president and  I want him to succeed.  On the other hand,  I profess nothing but contempt for those who, for their own personal and selfish desire to retain power, maintain ideas, perpetuate policies and legislative success that have proven disastrous. You know their names and party.

Hating Trump, in many cases, borders on treason.  In other instances it borders on misguided thinking and inexplicable bias.  In several cases it is purely emotional and hysterical.  Yes, there are instances when disliking Trump is totally understandable and even supportable.

Nevertheless,I find hating Trump outside the pale of reason and for those who do and cannot bring themselves around, I can only question their motives and basis.

Diversity? (See  1 below.)

1) Several weeks ago, the 116th Congress was sworn in, and all day long, the media was fawning over the “remarkable diversity” of the new Democrat members. It was a day of “firsts,” we were told repeatedly. While the new Democrat majority offers many members of note, we want to highlight a few “firsts” who are examples of the “diversity” that was sworn in today.

Here are our Top Most “Diverse” House Freshmen:

#1. Ilhan Omar: the first person who married her brother to commit immigration fraud ever to be elected to Congress. Omar is also the first open supporter of female genital mutilation to ever be elected to Congress. Such amazing diversity!

#2. Rashida Tlaib: One of the first Muslim Brotherhood-linked and anti-Semitic candidates to be elected to Congress. She also claims to be a “Palestinian.” Wonders never cease. Also has potty mouth using the term "mother f***er" for the president.

#3. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Where do we even begin? Let’s just say she is the first person elected to Congress who lied about being from the Bronx, and thus, made up her life story. She’s also an overt Marxist, in case you forgot.

#4. Abigail Spanberger: The first substitute teacher from an Islamist school (nicknamed ‘Terror High’ ) ever to be elected to Congress.

#5. Donna Shalala: Rep. Shalala was HHS Secretary from 1993 to 2001 under Bill Clinton and worked from 2015 to 2017 at the Clinton Foundation, and in 2016 she admitted in an interview that some significant Clinton Foundation donors received “courtesy appointments” in the Clinton State Department. To top it off, apparently she can’t let go of politics: at 78, she’s the oldest female House freshman in history.

#6. Krysten Sinema, the first bi-sexual atheist to be sworn into Congress.  She refused to take the oath of office on the Holy Bible, but instead, put her hand on the U.S. Constitution.

These are just a few examples of the “firsts” that the media has been celebrating today, those who apparently show an open disdain and animosity for America as we’ve known it for over 200 years.

And they all represent the Democratic Party!
