My sentiments. (See 1 and 1a below.)
And:
Because fewer and fewer trust the mass media, their polls are no longer reliable and/or able to capture how voters intend to vote or think.
Trump was wise to focus on The Senate because most of the campaigns were in red states and The House was a far longer shot.
Also, got a kick out of Trump's suggestion Pelosi deserves to be Speaker.

I am writing this before Trump speaks this afternoon..
I am no adviser to Trump for sure but I would urge him to proceed full throttle to press for legislation in at least four areas and throw the gauntlet down and challenge Democrats to respond.
a) He should propose rational changes to our immigration laws that gives illegal immigrants, already here and working with no criminal record, a pathway to citizenship.
b) If he wishes to challenge the legality of citizenship status of those born on our soil he has every legal right to do so and let The SCOTUS determine what they believe is the true intent of the 14th Amendment.
c) He should offer legislation that addresses the failure to end OBAMACRE and come up with an acceptable health care plan that is affordable, comprehensive and retains and reinforces free market solutions.
d) Unlikely to happen but he should begin a conversation about government spending because curbing it this is the only way we can avert a financial disaster.
The economy is healthy and producing income but spending remains the hole in the bucket.
In furtherance of these four initiatives, Trump should explain in a succinct manner using common sense language why this is necessary for the nation's health and state clearly he is ready to work with any and all to accomplish these worthy goals.
Finally, without being bombastic he should lay this challenge at the Democrat's feet and tell them they have two roads: do what is best by the people they profess they want to help and the nation they claim to love, or throw away an opportunity and engage in a big lie by playing politics with America's health and future and spend the next two years continuing to oppose him and his administration.
He knows he will get no help from the mass media so he has to lay out a clear and logical case and let the Trump Haters deal with the consequences of their hatred.
I hear a lot about voters wanting divided government. I believe voters want solutions and turn to divided government when they fear the alternative is un-achievable.
America is a can do and impatient nation. We want solutions but we also know it is unwise to seek what is not likely to happen because we also know the price of beating your head against a wall.

DickFrom a dear friend, fellow memo reader who is politically connected:
"Just got some additional info on the Governor race. In round numbers, I’m told that Kemp is up by about 70,000 votes.
The person I talked with estimates that there are approx.. 100,000 absentee and provisional votes still to be counted. Bulk of these absentee and provisional in metro area. Estimated: Fulton 19,000, Gwinnett 15,000, Cobb 25,000, DeKalb ??
Kemp lost metro almost 3 x1…..so 75% of the “to be counted” votes could go to Abrams……which would still give Kemp a slight lead…but would force a runoff.
Not good."

Something for Everyone With Alarm Bells Ringing For All
Democrats picked up the United States House of Representatives, flipped seven state legislative chambers, added six states where Democrats now control both the state legislature and Governor's Mansion, and the three states that put Trump over the finish line (Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) all elected Democrat Governors and Senators.
But Republicans made gains in the Senate in places like Missouri, Florida, North Dakota, and Indiana while holding their own in Arizona. Likewise, the GOP held both the highly contested governor's mansions in Georgia and Florida.
Republicans will be happy because of judges and Democrats will be happy because they've taken the House and begun to undo some of the damage done at the state level by Barack Obama. But both sides should pay attention to real warning signs.
For Republicans, the mostly reliable suburbs fled the President. I have talked to a number of Republican consultants and pollsters over the preceding few days and all of them tell me that in close races the last...

Here’s Why Last Night Probably Just Re-Elected Trump
I am not anywhere remotely close to the political left. I see the world completely differently than many who are. In fact, I find the public policy ideas of the far left as dangerous to prosperity and damaging to national morality. Still, as I watched the results of the midterm elections pour in last night, I couldn’t help but feel a little bad for them.
I’ve written before about how the far left is home to those whose god is government. It is the agency that brings hope or dispels it; the institution through which deliverance is achieved or denied. It brings ultimate power, and power is everything. To lose control of it then is nothing short of apocalyptic. It demands riots, protests, weeping, gnashing of teeth, and a vocal, unrelenting anger. This is precisely what the country has seen of the left since 2016.
But 2018 promised to be the left’s redemption. Yet many liberal progressives are waking up today feeling underwhelmed. Beto lost. Andrew Gillum lost. Bill Nelson lost. Stacey Abrams lost. Almost every red...

Will Khashoggi's Killing Force Mohammad bin Salman to Cede Some Control?
By George Friedman - Stratfor
The apparent murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the resulting international reaction have embroiled Saudi Arabia, forcing the House of Saud to unite to address the backlash. The incident is bound to affect the inner workings of the royal family, particularly as the king's powerful young son and crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, struggles to escape international blame while Riyadh disavows — publicly, at least — that he had any involvement. Beneath the surface, competition and debate in the House of Saud is likely to be heated, because the crown prince has inevitably made enemies in the family while consolidating his power.
