Today, I would characterize the market drop as perhaps the beginning of the last down leg in anticipation of The Fed's final large interest rate increase as well as the end of the earnings season. We now enter the drought period so I would call any future reactions as a positive reset period and would observe the months of September and October and be inclined to start reinvesting in November.
In the event of a substantive recession, everything I have just written would prove premature and need to be revised.
The assassination in Moscow raises some alarm bells and any Chinese invasion of Taiwan also has to be considered but it seems XI would not be preparing to meet, in November, with Biden prior to a Taiwan episode.
Then, of course we have Biden's physical and mental condition so there are many factors that could prove unsettling for the market.
There are two recent provocative op eps in the WSJ. One positing can America be exceptional again and the other asserting we are no longer capable of winning a sustained war against an adversary like China because we no longer have the ability to produce sufficient arms to engage in a sustained war,

1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.

7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
8. If foreigners come here and buy land, their options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
9. Foreigners may have NO protests; NO demonstrations, NO waving of a foreign flag, NO political organizing, NO bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted and, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

Here’s a bit of common sense: you design a military to be lethal, not to be woke.
However, the radical Left Biden Administration has prioritized the indoctrination of our troops over fighting capability.
First, they mandated that our soldiers take the vaccine, now they mandate that our troops adhere to Marxist ideology.
As a West Point graduate and former Army officer, the treatment of our military is especially important to me.
That’s why I am outraged that our soldiers are being forced to read books written by left-wing extremists like Ibram X. Kendi that push Critical Race Theory.
Our military must not be treated as a political instrument but as an apolitical barrier against hostile foreign powers. Do you agree with me?
If so, I need you to demand that the Left STOP indoctrinating our troops with woke propaganda.
I firmly believe that the vast majority of Americans are opposed to this disgraceful campaign to politicize our armed forces.
DEMAND AN END TO THE INDOCTRINATION
If enough patriotic citizens make our voices heard, I believe that we will be able to stop this effort to indoctrinate our troops.
So I’m asking you once more, PLEASE demand an end to to the indoctrination so that we may ensure that our military remains strong and that our troops are allowed to maintain their personal beliefs.
