Logic
from an uncluttered Mind
A little
girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human
because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it
was physically impossible.
The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'.
The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?'
The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.
A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom
of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see
each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the
drawing was.
The girl replied, 'I'm drawing God.'
The teacher paused and said, 'But no one knows what God looks like.'
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, 'They
will in a minute.'
A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten
Commandments with her five and six-year-olds.
After explaining the commandment to 'honor' thy Father and thy Mother, she
asked, 'Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and
sisters?'
From the back, one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, 'Thou shall
not kill.'
O ne day a little girl was
sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly
noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in
contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, 'Why are some of your hairs
white, Mum?'
Her mother replied, 'Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me
cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white.'
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said,
'Mummy, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?'
I love this one!
T he
children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them
each to buy a copy of the group picture. 'Just think how nice it will be
to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer,
she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's
dead.'
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation
of the blood Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, 'Now, class, if I
stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn
red in the face.'
'Yes,' the class said.
'Then why is it that while
I am standing upright in the ordinary positions the blood doesn't run into my
feet?'
A little fellow shouted, Cause your feet ain't
empty.'

T he
children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for
lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note
and posted on the apple tray: 'Take only ONE. God is watching.'
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large
pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the
apples....'

We leave Wednesday for our granddaughter's wedding in Michigan and return on 6 November. I have pre-posted memos through 3:15 PM, October 27 and there will be no more until days after we return.
I hope we will know who is our president election and all goes well in turns of civil discord.
Before we depart I had a two thoughts I want to express:
I firmly believe capitalism is far superior than socialism as a practicing economic, moral and productive concept. Empirically speaking, capitalism has produced more wealth and betterment than socialism, which has produced untold misery. If there is any fault with capitalism it begins with greed and how corrupt humans manipulate capitalism.
When corporations/businesses no longer managed the pensions and retirement programs of their workers, I believe a vital loyalty disconnect was created between management and workers resulting in wage disparity that has reached unhealthy proportions/levels
Consequently, I believe capitalism has been weakened because emotional ties between management and labor have been shredded and in some instances totally destroyed.
The second thought I want to put out there to challenge thinking is whether the rhythm of democracy wins over the stability of totalitarianism. In the case of our republic, constancy of elections allows changes in leadership, new ideas and a fresh approach towards governance. In the case of more autocratic leadership (Xi elected for life) government consistency, long term thinking and planning are, theoretically boosted. For instance, can/do potential changes every 4 years in our presidency provide advantages over consistency/stability of Chinese leadership?
In the case of Biden and Trump there are vast philosophical, and potentially disruptive, differences. Yes, the wheels of a democracy may grind fine but they also proceed at a very slow pace. Even when it comes to construction, China can complete a large structure faster than a comparable facility in America because when the Chinese government wants something to happen it generally does. Look what infrastructure and military preparedness has occurred in China in the last few decades. Taking a long view can America, even western democracies, successfully compete against China?
Is the CCP better equipped to handle a highly leveraged and debt ridden economy than America? I bring this up because China's debt amounts to almost 3 times it's GDP whereas , America is approaching a one to one correlation. We know China wants the Yuan to supplant the dollar as the world's currency standard? The implications of this , should it occur, would be potentially enormous and disruptive.
I bring these matters up because, there is a lot riding on the election of Biden or re-election of Trump because the implications extend beyond domestic boundaries/considerations like Covid 19, healthcare, taxation, military spending etc. A potential war with China cannot be dismissed as well as the break up of NATO over what occurs between Greece and Turkey just as matters in the Middle East are calming.
Finally, it is one thing for America to lead the world in matters that are favorable but at what expense?
While I am on productivity, Yale has told those who invest their endowment they must now give preference to women and racial minorities. Are we going back to affirmative action and are there enough truly qualified to accomplish a worthy goal but again, at what price?
Following the illogic of one size fits all, does this mean 10 to 13% of all positions in America should be filled by blacks qualified or not? Has any thought been given to our competitive status if we do everything based on a racial scale?
To paraphrase what Trump said, if we close America down to rid the pandemic and destroy the country's economic engine what have we gained?
Take the Paris Accord. A clean unpolluted world is a good thing but if we spend trillions American productivity suffers while China, Russia are given decades to clean up their atmosphere. The Paris Accord gave them enormous economic advantages. We cannot expect their pollution not to travel. Being green is worthy but at what cost and who goes first carries significant implications. For those who have not voted, I urge you ponder what I have just written. For those who have voted, I can only hope your decision was driven by more than narrow considerations.

An Iranian ayatollah gloated that now Americans themselves are chanting "death to America!"
And I can tell you why that's happening.
The radical Left is using your tax dollars to indoctrinate your children and grandchildren to hate America.
And for years, they've gotten away with it.
- In California, a teacher assigned students to write letters to the Oakland police department demanding an end to "racial profiling" -- for a math class
- Teachers are reading a book called "A is for Activist" to first grade students -- teaching them "F is for feminist, T is for trans, X is for Malcolm X"
- An Illinois principal invited a BLM activist -- who celebrated the execution-style killings of Chicago police -- to speak at career day
There's even a national program called Black Lives Matter at School pushing for this indoctrination -- and they've already succeeded in Seattle, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, New York City, Baltimore and Washington DC.
But they won't stop there.
Black Lives Matter won't be happy until they've conquered every school district in America -- and programmed every boy and girl to believe that all white people are racist, the United States is evil, and capitalism must be overthrown.
I wish I was kidding, but this is what's happening in your own backyard on YOUR dime.
But you can use your hard-earned dollars to fight back.
You can combat this radical agenda today with an emergency donation that will go directly to our campaign to BAN BLM IN OUR SCHOOLS.
Allow me to explain.
My name is David Horowitz, and in 2018 I launched a program to end indoctrination in K-12 schools.
My team introduced a Code of Ethics, and met with legislators, boards, and committees across the country to make sure that K-12 teachers did their jobs as educators -- NOT Left Wing activists.
The Code of Ethics holds educators accountable, and demands they leave their politics OUT of the classroom.
We've made progress in 6 states. Of course, every state is an uphill battle with teachers unions and other Left Wing organizations fighting us at every turn....

Zito 1200 feet below the surface:
SYCAMORE, Pa. — The one thing all the guys know about Sara Vance is she never cries.
Which is why her co-workers — all men — dropped their tools when Vance suddenly broke down in a flood of tears after she failed to shovel coal into a conveyor belt.
Pregnant with her first child and just weeks before the due date, she was 1,200 feet below the surface of the earth with no easy way out.
“I wasn’t in pain or going into labor,” Vance said. “I was just so frustrated because my belly was getting in my way of shoveling. I take pride in being able to do my job and those tears just started falling the more exasperated I became.”
