As for "Pop" it perhaps runs deeper. Both have insecurities, as we all do, and not being a psychiatrist I can only say I believe "Pop's" are more pathologic. It is factual that his current wife left her husband for "Pop." As for the facts about the car wreck involving his first wife, and what followed, I have not checked but everyone is entitled to their own prospective fake news these days. Maybe you can get The NYT's to verify the story? Certainly they must have the facts since it occurred long before the paper sank into the depths of The Hudson River.

A thriving/growing middle class is critical to America's Republic. The middle class is the glue that makes America what it has been and when the "land of opportunity" ceases to be, America will be no more. Those who have become fattened, by allowing China to grow, are directly responsible for the decline in America's Middle Class and the rebirth of American manufacturing is a direct threat to China's need to grow it's own middle class. This is the economic war that is happening and why China must wreck our economy. Perhaps this is why Xi acted as he did regarding the pandemic.
Xi's expanding population must be kept content/complacent and that means they must transition to manufacturing jobs that give their workers hope for a better life than the one underpinned by agriculture. America's agricultural productivity is central to their Communist Government's transition of Chinese workers and this is why they are willing/need to purchase agricultural products from America. Trump understands this better than western leaders and former American presidents who believed China would be willing to co-operate once they were allowed to become a member of the World Trade Organization.
Instead, China became aggressive in furtherance of their desire to dominate the world technologically and militarily and why theft of artificial intelligence and technology know how gave them years of leverage at, basically, zero cost. This is also why they were more than happy to finance Hunter, in order to get their hooks into "Pop" and support his candidacy by throwing roadblocks in the way of Trump's re-election. Obama was also willing to stand aside as China advanced at America and the West's expense. This is also why The Paris Accord Deal has to be seen through the prism of China's desire to cripple America's productivity cost structure..

China threatens war if we agree to sell military equipment to Taiwan per agreement signed with Trump.
They also threaten to shut down Hunter's funding. This has gotten out of hand. I need to keep this out of the papers and get my protectors in mass media to clam up. They helped get me elected by denying Hunter's close ties to China, now they have an invested interest in protecting our combined interests.
