I do not understand why people need to indulge in narcotics and smoke weeds etc. Is their life really so bad they have lost all self-control and self-respect and are so desperate they think altering their mind will permanently solve their issues?
I am from the old school where you respected your parents, did what authorities demanded and did not talk back to police. Consequently, I grew up partly neurotic, made some mistakes, took control of my life and came out fairly well. Now I am close to the end of my life, continue to be out of step with what are called the norms and glad of it.
I guess this is what happens to a society when you raise young people believing they are entitled to their wants as well as their needs and everything becomes "Pablum" from their education to their life style and diminished responsibilities.
As for myself, I believe the world is better because of America and am saddened by what is happening to the country I love.
As you know, I believe Obama was the wrong president for America and he has left us weakened, confused and at each other's throats. That is the legacy I will remember him for and not the rose colored crap he would have you believe.

Arnold Palmer, a golfing legend and great humanist passes away after a full life at 87.
Our Orlando granddaughter was born in the hospital named after his wife. Palmer's generosity knew no bounds. His golf game was always in bounds.

This is a response from a dear friend and fellow memo reader from a doctor to whom he forwarded my "Atlas Shrugged" Ayn Rand, comments. According to this doctor, if you want what he is facing vote for Hillary. (See 1 below.)
===
I have no problem distinguishing between Hillary and Donald.
If you want government solutions, vote for Hillary. If you want more taxes, vote for Hillary. If you want a president with a record of mistakes, poor judgement and who is a basic liar, vote for Hillary.
If you want more of the same and someone cognizant of perpetuating Obama's legacy then vote for Hillary. If you want to keep Bill in the limelight, vote for Hillary. If you dislike the way America is being policed , vote for Hillary. If you believe deficits do not matter and pigeons never come home to roost, vote for Hillary. If you believe in Socialism then vote for Democrats and Hillary.
If you can put aside Trump's poor taste at times and braggadocio and swallow hard at some of his dumb remarks then he is your man. Trump has touched the 3rd rail and openly discussed what is on most minds of Americans but whose voices have been stilled by PC'ism. He has done so in a distasteful manner at times but he has offered solutions, some practical some perhaps not.
He has run a unique and refreshing campaign and proven it can be done on a smaller budget. He has worked hard at and been tireless delivering his message. He has a basically cheerier outlook and even has a sense of humor and is more of a real person, warts and all.
He has surrounded himself with talented professionals from a variety of fields and should he be elected will , in all likelihood, exceed expectations despite the mass media which will oppose everything he says and does.
I also believe Obama has wrecked the chances of any successor to shine so whomever wins will have a very uphill 4 year struggle to solve our many problems which Obama worsened and even added a few new ones.

Think about this even if Rush said it because he is absolutely correct. (See 2 below.)

" When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain the permission from men who produce nothing; when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods, but in favor; when you see that men get rich more easily from graft than by work, and your laws no longer protect you against them , but protect them against you...you may know that your society is doomed."
This is a quote from Atlas Shrugged.
"It came to my mind again after going to meeting this Saturday at Piedmont Hospital where bureaucrats from Washington told us how we are to practice medicine this year and how they are going to determine what our pay and practice modes will be. It was very scary. Payment will be for outcomes. So a thoracic surgeon got up and said how he was caring for a man with lung cancer who would not stop smoking so this man had many many visits to the doctor and many episodes of pneumonia. The doctor across the street not caring for this man has a better profile because this man seeking many visits to a doctor ruins his profile. The patient that weighs 400 pounds and will not lose weight has many more complications that the lean patient and the doctors who care for obese patients have a worse profile and will be paid less. This has come to fruition already as last week I saw a healthy 20 year old referred to me for the first time. She has had 5 eye muscle surgeries in the past and now has seen 5 ophthalmologists none of whom will operate on her. She is healthy, no smoking, no cancer and has good insurance-private. So her father asked me why none the 5 doctors would operate on his daughter. I explained to him that his daughter will take at least 2 surgeries to get straight eyes and maybe more and that this will ruin the profile of the ophthalmologist who cares for her.
So those of you who want this type of medicine , vote for Clinton.
After a few years of this type of medicine, most doctors will lose their expertise for caring for complicated problems fearing that those patients will ruin their profile..
You all laughed at me when I warned you about Obamacare. Now you see the results. It is not too late to change,That is if you care about your children and grandchildren. Zane"

2) Rush Limbaugh:
I think the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty and those who die serving our country in Uniform are profound. No one is really talking about it either, because you just don't criticize anything having to do with September 11.
Well, I can't let the numbers pass by because it says something really disturbing about the entitlement mentality of this country.
If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million.
If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.
Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.
Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. Soldiers put themselves in harms way FOR ALL OF US, and they and their families know the dangers. (Actually, soldiers are put in harm's way by politicians and commanding officers.)
We also learned over the weekend that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the embassies are now asking for compensation as well.
You see where this is going, don't you? Folks, this is part and parcel of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad. Every time a pay raise comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise. Now the green machine is in combat in the Middle East while their families have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense?
However, our own US Congress voted themselves a raise. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. And most are now equal to being millionaires plus. They do not receive Social Security on retirement because they didn't have to pay into the system. If some of the military people stay in for 20 years and get out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, and the very people who placed them in harm's way receives a pension of $15,000 per month.
I would like to see our elected officials pick up a weapon and join ranks before they start cutting out benefits and lowering pay for our sons and daughters who are now fighting.
