Supreme Court Leak Shows Next Plans On Abortion

(RoyalPatriot.com )- Over the weekend, the Washington Post reported how the leaked draft option is testing Chief Justice Roberts’ influence over the other conservative justices on the Supreme Court which cited anonymous sources who suggested that Roberts wanted to uphold the Mississippi abortion law while keeping Roe v. Wade in place.

According to the report from Robert Barnes, Carol Leonig, and Ann Marimow, anonymous sources “close” to the conservative justices on the court claimed that during a private conference in December, Roberts was leaning toward keeping Roe in place while the conservative justices were more interested in an opinion that would overturn both Roe and Casey.

The Washington Post was unable to get anyone from the Supreme Court to confirm what their anonymous sources claimed.

It’s always risky to believe reports based on anonymous sources within the Supreme Court.

Back in January, NPR Supreme Court correspondent Nina Totenberg reported that anonymous sources said Chief Justice Roberts had asked all nine justices to wear a mask during hearings at the request of Justice Sonia Sotomayor, but Justice Neil Gorsuch refused, forcing Sotomayor to attend hearings remotely.

The story was untrue.

Justices Gorsuch and Sotomayor released a joint statement saying the claims were false. Chief Justice Roberts released a statement saying he didn’t order all nine justices to wear masks during hearings.

What are the odds the Washington Post’s anonymous sources have the story right?

This private conference cited in the Washington Post’s article occurred over five months ago, and this is the first we’re hearing about it.

Roe v. Wade is a hot-button issue and we have known since last year that the Supreme Court could possibly overturn it this summer. How likely is it that these “sources” would have kept mum for nearly six months about what was said in that December meeting?

The Washington Post’s report is designed to further the narrative that the conservative justices, especially the three nominated by former President Donald Trump, have become so extreme, that they’re even too extreme for Chief Justice Roberts.

Russia Preparing To Flee After Massive Losses

(RoyalPatriot.com )- The UK’s Ministry of Defense claimed on Thursday that Russia has withdrawn some of its forces from eastern Ukraine after suffering “heavy losses.”

Tweeting that Ukrainian forces have recaptured several towns and villages along the Russian border north of Kharkiv, the UK Defense Ministry added that the despite successfully encircling Kharkiv early on in the conflict, Russian forces are reportedly pulling back from the region to “reorganize and replenish its forces following heavy losses.”

The UK Defense Ministry concluded that by pulling forces back from the Kharkiv region, Russia recognizes that it was unable “to capture key Ukrainian cities where they expected limited resistance.”

The ministry surmises that the withdrawn forces are likely to be redeployed to the Siverskyi Donets River, forming a blockade “to protect the western flank of Russia’s main force concentration and main supply routes for operations in the vicinity of Izyum.”

However, given travel restrictions in the Kharkiv region, it is difficult to confirm the state of fighting in the region.

Over the weekend the Ukrainian military reported that Russian forces around Kharkiv began concentrating on maintaining their current positions and preventing Ukraine troops from advancing toward the border with Russia.

On Monday, the Ukrainian military said Russian forces are focusing their latest attacks on the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, targeting both civilian and military targets in multiple towns. Russian forces have used an array of weaponry to target Ukrainian fortifications and have fired artillery on civilian targets in Dovvehnke, Ruski Tyshiki, Petrivka, and Ternova.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Russian forces continued the air and artillery strikes on the Azovstal plant in Mariupol where the last of the Ukrainian forces continue to launch their resistance in the strategic southern city.

Ukraine’s military commander in the eastern region of Luhansk said on Monday that, as part of efforts to slow the Russian offensive, Ukraine forces blew up the Russian-held railway bridges between Rubizhne and Severodonetsk.

The destruction of the railway bridges has not been independently verified.

Hillary Clinton’s sordid legacy of lies

By Michael Goodwin

Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham ClintonWe have known since the Robert Mueller report in 2019 that the charge that Donald Trump colluded with Russia was fake news. Andrew Kelly/REUTERS

Proving that what’s old is new again, here is how the late William Safire began his New York Times column of Jan. 8, 1996:

“Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady — a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation — is a congenital liar.

“Drip by drip, like Whitewater torture, the case is being made that she is compelled to mislead, and to ensnare her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.”

Safire detailed a series of situations where Hillary Clinton was caught in obvious lies, and there is a straight line to the Hillary Clinton whose shadow hangs over the Michael Sussmann trial in Washington. Once again, Clinton is being exposed as “compelled to mislead” and ensnaring “her subordinates and friends in a web of deceit.”

And to think she almost got away with stealing the presidency.

It is in keeping with her history that she is portrayed as the off-stage chief conniver at a trial that is, like her, something of a throwback. Coming six years after the 2016 presidential campaign, the Sussmann trial inevitably carries an air of anti-climax.

After all, we have known since the Robert Mueller report in 2019 that the charge that Donald Trump colluded with Russia was fake news. And we have known for almost as long that Clinton’s campaign secretly funded the smear merchants at Fusion GPS who hired Christopher Steele who fabricated a “dossier” that was long on lies and gossip and short on facts.

Dirtiest of dirty tricks

Finally, we have known that Jim Comey’s FBI was punch drunk on power and some of its top officials were foaming at the mouth to help Clinton defeat Trump. They were so dirty they used the rancid dossier to get court approval to spy on Trump’s campaign.

That sequence adds a strange dimension to the Sussmann case in the sense that the only charge against him — that he lied to the FBI in denying he was working for Clinton in trying to peddle Russia trash — makes the agency look innocent, when it was, in its own way, as guilty as Clinton.

Still, there is value in special counsel John Durham’s tireless effort to reveal the secrets of the dirtiest dirty trick ever. His assignment was to probe how and why the FBI took the unprecedented step of spying on the campaign of the opposing party’s presidential candidate and while the going has been slow, he is adding important details to a major stain on our national history.

The Biden administration would surely love to shut Durham down, but convicting Sussmann likely would give the prosecutor new impetus and save his probe from the Democrats’ ax.

It is vital that he continue because, although it failed to elect Clinton, the hoax was sensationally successful in capturing the media’s attention and implanting a deep distrust of Trump, thanks in part to the Deep State’s anonymous sources who fed media hysterics.

Democrats, especially Nancy Pelosi, insisted Trump was an illegitimate president for his entire term. One result was that the party refused to negotiate with him, robbing America of any meaningful bipartisanship even on issues like infrastructure.

Midterms fallout

Another outcome was the 2018 midterms, where the hoax surely played a role in the public’s decision to hand control of the House to Dems, who instantly began their Russia, Russia, Russia investigation and soon turned to impeaching Trump.

The Clinton lies, then, did enormous damage and, as Trump immodestly but correctly says, a weaker president would have reacted to the false attacks by curling up into a fetal position.

Meanwhile, the related misconduct of the media, the FBI and other government agencies resulted in an incalculable loss of credibility that continues to grow as new facts emerge.

In that sense, the most redeeming feature of the Sussmann case is the proof that the Steele dossier wasn’t Clinton’s only effort to fabricate so-called “evidence” about Trump and Russia. Testimony is revealing that the pattern the two efforts followed was almost identical.

First her campaign concocted a lie, then secretly peddled it to Trump-hating media and the Trump-hating FBI. In both cases, it concealed the funding as “legal services.”

In the Sussmann case, the part of Christopher Steele was played by tech executive Rodney Joffe, who produced data purporting to show Trump computers communicating with a Russian bank. It was regarded as bunk even by the FBI.

It was nonetheless Sussmann’s job to get The New York Times to run a story on the claim, an effort Clinton herself approved, according to testimony from her former campaign manager, Robbie Mook. Although the Times didn’t bite on that one, other media outlets did, and Clinton herself tweeted about the stories to magnify their impact as she hoped for an October surprise.

Special Counsel John DurhamSpecial Counsel John Durham departs the courtroom after day four of his trial against former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann.Ron Sachs – CNP / MEGA

One of her aides then, Jake Sullivan, was also pushing the fake story as a national security threat, and he is now Joe Biden’s national security adviser. How comforting.

The pattern raises the question of whether there were still other fabricated attempts by Clinton to paint Trump as a traitor that we don’t know about yet. Never underestimate her venality.

Lousy and lazy

What we do know is more than enough to condemn her for all time. She was a lousy, lazy presidential candidate who made up slanderous tales about her opponent to cover up her own unpopularity and failures.

As proof, the trial resurrected declassified notes from September of 2016 written by John Brennan, then CIA director. It said intelligence officials learned Clinton planned to tar Trump with Russia ties “as a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server.”

The notes suggest Brennan briefed then-President Barack Obama on the finding, yet Obama still went along with the FBI probe of Trump and told Comey how to brief the president-elect in January of 2017 on the most salacious parts of the Steele dossier.

Assuming Durham is able to continue, his real challenge will be finding someone in her circle who was not ensnared in Clinton’s web of deceit.

Disinfo blame game

Nina Jankowicz, the kook chosen by the White House to run its sinister “Disinformation Governance Board,” blames her quick demise on … disinformation.

She says there was “malign intent’ in criticizing her and the board, which is why she resigned.

Her reaction proves she was unfit and even dangerous. She considers anything critical of her as having “malign intent.”

Good riddance to her and hopefully the anti-free-speech board will be next on the chopping block.

Wife’s Diary:

Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird.  We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner.  I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it.  Conversation was not flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk.  He agreed, but he did not say much.

I asked him what was wrong; He said, "nothing."

I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset.

He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it.

On the way home, I told him that I loved him.

He smiled slightly and kept driving.  I cannot explain his behavior.  I do not know why he did not say,  “I love you, too.”

When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore.

He just sat there quietly and watched TV.  He continued to seem distant and absent.  Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed.  About 15 minutes later, he came to bed.  But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else.  He fell asleep; I cried.  I do not know what to do.  I am almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else.  My life is a disaster.

Husband’s Diary:

A one-foot putt.. Who the hell misses a one-foot putt?

To all my liberal friends who could not stomach Trump and decided this "putz" was preferable, I sincerely doubt you would like to spend a day with your choice.  Yet, the nation must listen to him because Democrats attacked Trump with false claims of collusion as did the mass media and FBI who convinced hateful emotional voters who too were  incapable of rational thinking. Biden is a fruit cake.

Finally, now that we know Hillary was behind the collusion garbage, I feel vindicated always believing it was all a political ruse to disrupt a lawfully elected man whose methods and language was often un-presidential but whose actions and accomplishments, against the most distressful collection of contrived impediments, were amazing.

He beat himself in the 2020 election because, as Barr points out in his biography, Trump could not chew gum and walk. In other words he was so fixated on appeasing his own crowd he was unable to expand his appeal by changing his style for fear he would lose the devoted.

I repeat what I believe. If history judges Trump based on accomplishments he will go down as one of our better presidents.  If he is judged solely on his temperament, his over the board comments and narcissistic ways he will not achieve the rightful position he deserves.

The lower we sink, because Biden has lost total control over events he caused due to pique, the better Trump appears. Low inflation, high employment for all socio-sectors, securer borders, manufacturing returning to our shores, NATO forced to reach parity regarding contribution obligations, Middle East peace prospects enhanced by solving the Gordian Knot predecessors tried for decades to resolve, placing America First as should any president, increased racial harmony after years of Obama's efforts to divide along racial lines. Solid appointments to The SCOTUS. Uniquely kept his campaign commitments and you know the rest.

Russia's Withdrawal From Syria Is an Opportunity for Israel

by Jacob Nagel and Jonathan Schanzer Newsweek

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz revealed details about the largest Israel Defense Force (IDF) drill in recent years last week. The drill included simulated airstrikes on Iran and a simulated multi-front war against Iran-backed proxies in Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza. The message was unmistakable: The Israeli government is weighing its military options, and the military is readying for whatever the government decides. Iran should be worried.

Right now, however, all eyes are on Syria. The war in Ukraine has prompted Russia to redeploy some forces and hardware out of Syria, where it has been buttressing the embattled regime of Bashar al-Assad. As the Russians depart, the Iranians want to fill the void.

The Israelis are determined not to let that happen. The Syrian-Israeli border, as well as key bases and facilities in Syria, have witnessed significant clashes in recent years. The Iranian regime continues to build its capabilities to target Israel from this war-torn territory. And Israel continues to erode those capabilities.

One of the most dramatic incidents occurred in 2018, when an armed Iranian drone crossed into Israel. The drone was dispatched from T4 Air Base in Syria. The IDF shot it down, then launched one of the largest military operations in Syria in decades.

Such clashes, along with other incidents across the Middle East and even in Iranian territory, are part of the new reality in the region. Israel calls it the "war between wars." It's a campaign to damage Iran's capabilities in Lebanon, Syria, and anywhere the Islamic Republic is preparing to wage war against Israel.

Once upon a time, Israel only targeted Tehran's proxies when they attacked first. But Israel's leaders understand this is no longer viable, particularly in Syria, where Iran appears determined to establish offensive capabilities on Israel's doorstep.

Israel is also operating against Iranian smuggling of what they call "game-changing weapons," a euphemism for precision guided munitions (PGMs). Israel is tracking PGM parts, production machines, and anything else that might contribute to independent PGM production.

With Iran's guidance, Hezbollah has been manufacturing PGMs or converting older rockets into PGMs. Reports suggest that Hezbollah is assembling PGMs in underground facilities in Lebanon, producing a few PGMs per day.

The Russian departure from Syria is now a danger and an opportunity for Israel. The Iranians clearly seek to fill the void in key territory that Russia vacates. But such plans are predictable and transparent. Israeli military operations can potentially force the Iranians out. Indeed, without the Russians and their advanced air defense systems, the Israeli Air Force should have significantly more freedom to maneuver.

After years of careful deconfliction with the Kremlin driven by the fear of accidentally targeting Russian jets in the skies over Syria or Russian troops on the ground, the IDF can now press its advantage. With the Russians focused on Ukraine, the number of Israeli operations in Syria has reportedly already increased and will likely only intensify.

Even the Assad regime, which would have lost power without Iranian and Russian intervention, may welcome an intensifying Israeli campaign; the Iranian regime has overstayed its welcome in Syria, violating the country's sovereignty and encumbering its diplomatic ties to the Arab world. Indeed, several pragmatic Arab states are in favor of jettisoning Iranian forces from Syria in an effort to stabilize the region after years of tumult.

But even if Israel drives Iran out of Syria, Hezbollah's PGM production in Lebanon remains a threat Israel cannot ignore. The rules of engagement until now have been such that Israel has mostly avoided striking inside Lebanon. That may need to change, particularly as the estimated stockpile of these weapons—estimated in the hundreds presently—continues to grow.

A war against Hezbollah is one that Israel has long avoided to prevent widespread damage, but it would be far worse for Lebanon, which is currently writhing in political and economic crises. Hezbollah understands that a destructive war in Lebanon will hurt its own image, not to mention its capabilities.

Israel's message now should be tailored not only to Hezbollah but to the regime in Teheran. In 2009, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei directed his military to invest heavily in PGMs, knowing they would enable the regime or its proxies to strike Israeli targets within 10 feet of their intended mark. The IDF has declared PGM's to be Israel's second most dire threat, subordinate only to Iran's nuclear program. Through the "war between wars," Israel's message has been one of action, not words.

Successive U.S. administrations have looked the other way while Israel has targeted Iranian smuggling and military activity in Syria. But if the United States signs the deeply-flawed looming nuclear deal with Iran, the massive sanctions relief that Iran receives would be a boon to Iran's military efforts.

Between Russia's departure, Lebanon's crisis, and the recent snag in the nuclear negotiations, Israel may have a short window of opportunity to significantly reduce the Iranian threat in Syria and PGM production infrastructure in Lebanon. This can be aided with political and diplomatic assistance from Washington. Barring such assistance, Israel can be expected to act alone.
