Biden wants American's to stop driving cars because he wants cleaner air so he is raising gas prices in America. Thus, he is asking Russia to produce oil there. I guess he believes pollution caused by dirtier Russian drilling and shipping that oil all over the world will lessen pollution. Not only is this dumb and irrational but it insults what little intelligence American's still have or perhaps Putin has been buying Hunter's paintings and "Pappa" wants to thank him.

The electoral danger Democrats face if a progressive warrior wins this House seats primary

By Salena Zito

McKEESPORT — Drive within the borders of Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District and you will find yourself in a variety of towns, cities, neighborhoods, villages and suburbs that are often at odds with each other socioeconomically and politically, yet there are also notable cultural touch-tones — like the GAP trail that curves along the Mon River past the ghosts of the area’s industrial past — that draw the people who live here together.

Mike Doyle, a Forest Hills Democrat, has represented this district — or versions of it, with the city of Pittsburgh often in the center — since 1995, when he was one of only 13 non-incumbent Democrats nationwide to win House seats in a Republican wave that swept in a GOP majority for the first time in 40 years.

No one will ever say Mr. Doyle did it perfectly, including Mr. Doyle himself, but he was — for the most part — an apt description of his job title, a representative: someone who represented the best interests of the majority of the voters in his district, a district overwhelmingly Democratic.

But not all Democrats share the same ideologies or agree about the degrees to which those ideologies should be enforced in government.

Mr. Doyle’s decision last month not to seek re-election for another term came before anyone knows what his district will look like. Pennsylvania will drop to 17 congressional seats from 18 for the 2022 midterm election cycle, with most experts agreeing that Western Pennsylvania will be where that one seat is eliminated — particularly because both Mr. Doyle and fellow Democrat Conor Lamb in the neighboring 17th Congressional District both have opted out of running again. (Mr. Lamb is running for the U.S. Senate seat of Republican Pat Toomey, who is retiring.)

“Here you have two districts that border each other with neither incumbent there to protect the territory. So, there’s a target on Western Pennsylvania,” explains Kurt Knaus, who is working with RepresentUS, one of many non-partisan organizations dedicated to making the redrawing of district maps equitable.

Mr. Knaus said he expects the City of Pittsburgh to remain at the center of the district, “which means it will have a high population of progressive voters; those Democratic voters will also come from places likely in the Mon Valley, who are still registered Democrats but much more culturally conservative than the progressive wing of the party.”

Mr. Knaus added that the district also will have a mix of upscale suburban voters, who leaned toward the Democrats in the last two cycles but could break Republican next year on pro-business policies.

Experts also agree this seat will be what is considered a safe Democratic one. But if Democratic voters in the primary next spring pick a nominee who is too far left, or too much of an ideologue, not only will that nominee not represent the district well, there is an outside chance that person could face a robust challenge from a moderate Republican with deep roots in the region.

To date, three Democrats have announced their intentions to run for this seat. Jerry Dickinson, a Pitt Law professor who ran a progressive primary contest against Mr. Doyle in 2020, favored the Green New Deal and a ban on fracking. Mr. Dickinson lost overwhelmingly, earning less than 30% of the vote. State Rep. Summer Lee announced her plan to run at an event in Braddock two weeks ago — on a platform she said would center on environmental, racial and social justice. And on Thursday, Pittsburgh attorney Steve Irwin joined the race, saying he is focused on “pocketbook issues.”

Neither Mr. Dickinson nor Ms. Lee shies away from progressive activism — but voters in districts like this tend to shy away from activist candidates and instead look for someone nimble enough to represent all of the communities, from the leafy suburbs where the white-collar executives hang their hats, to the poor rural white and urban black communities, with the working-class bedroom communities in between. All of these communities can get sideways with progressive activism in one way or the other — particularly on hot-button issues like school choice, police funding or environmental justice.

Before Mr. Irwin joined the fray and described himself as a pragmatist, no pragmatic Democratic candidate had stepped up to run. G. Terry Madonna, a political science professor at Millersville University, says that is because Democratic voters who turn out for primary races tend to be more progressive.

“So while what probably would suit this region is a more moderate Democrat, the progressives have the loudest voice in a Democratic primary, and I am not sure a traditional Democrat wouldn’t be drowned out,” Mr. Madonna said.

Ms. Lee has supported the defund the police movement and took umbrage when Emily Skopov — a moderate Democratic candidate for the state House last year in the suburban North Hills — blamed strident messaging as the reason she lost.

Ms. Lee, tweeting in a reaction thread, said, “I will not abide white Democrats blaming Black organizers and activists who are fighting to end police violence for your losses.”
Despite Ms. Lee’s pushback, Democrats were handed a stunning string of losses here in the last cycle — Pam Iovino failed to defend her state Senate seat in the southern and western suburbs, and Frank Dermody, a former leader of House Democrats, lost to Republican Carrie DelRosso.

The recent elections for both the Erie County executive and for the mayor of Buffalo, N.Y. — both in reliably Democratic regions — show that, in local elections at least, Democratic activists who run on ideology rather than good managerial skills lose. Erie Democrat Tyler Titus, who spent a lot of air time talking about becoming the first transgender county executive, lost to Republican Brenton Davis, who ran on economic development. In Buffalo, India Walton, a democratic socialist, beat incumbent Democratic Mayor Byron W. Brown in the primary, but Mr. Brown not only came back and ran as a write-in candidate, he won the seat.
And in deep blue Minneapolis, the defund the police referendum failed.

In short: Elected officials from ultra-liberal districts — like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. — might get lots of airtime on cable news and attention on social media, but candidates in more moderate districts who try to emulate them are likely to lose.

Mr. Knaus says the challenge for Democrats is, anytime you’re adding population outside the city into these districts — like from the Mon Valley or a handful of suburbs — it is going to make it more competitive in a general election, based how Western Pennsylvania Democrats have voted in recent elections. “The more competitive the district becomes, the greater the risk is for Democrats to lose the seat if they put in a candidate that is far to the left politically,” he said.

Biden is either stupid, a liar or both. Worst of all, he must believe he can slip one over on us as most politicians consistently prove they can accomplish.

I do not know when steeper inflation will hit but it is coming.  The cost of shipping containers have not peaked, the cost of energy has not peaked so more inflation is ahead. Thus, the cost of everything Biden wants to do will cost more and the amount of taxes will rise in order for there to be "no cost."

Biden’s “Zero Dollar Cost” Claims For “Build Back Better” Are Exploding

As Joe Biden gloats over the legislative victory that Nancy Pelosi and 13 House Republicans have finally handed him with his $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, he and administration officials continue to blast out the false claim that the much larger “Build Back Better” budget reconciliation spending package will have a “zero dollar” cost.

The claim would be laughable if the damage it is sure to do to the American economy were not so dire. Michael J. Boskin of the Hoover Institution said that even though all politicians exaggerate, Biden’s claims about a zero cost “rises to a higher plane.”

Boskin points out three fundamental errors in the zero-cost talking point. First, it ignores the opportunity cost of lost private investment and production caused by shifting resources to the government away from the private sector. Second, all taxes are a direct cost to the economy. They also divert resources away from private production. Third, the claim focuses only on the dollars claimed to be involved by the bill’s drafters. The actual costs include huge administrative and compliance costs and the destructive impact of economic incentives involved.

The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business will issue a new study this week that will show that the direct cost in actual dollars added to the federal debt will be at least $2.42 trillion.

The new package’s provisions would reportedly add new spending of $3.98 trillion and $1.56 in new federal taxes. The new estimates should attract the attention of some lawmakers, especially those who have been pressing for the Congressional Budget Office to “score” the legislation before it is voted on.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen admitted last week at the U.N. climate conference in Scotland that governmental policies require the “wholesale transformation.” She said that the estimated cost over the next 30 years is “between $100 and $150 trillion.”

She went on to say that the “gap between what governments have and what the world needs is large.” Of course, since governments have no power to raise money other than extracting it from practical production, she added that “the private sector needs to play a bigger role.”

If what Biden is doing is positive for the nation why do it in secret and at night like when Obama flew pallets of cash to Iran?

And:

Hard to argue:

Republicans won the Virginia Governor’s race by only 66,000 votes when over 3.2 million were cast.

Joe Biden got his monstrous “infrastructure” boondoggle spending bill passed because 13 weak Republicans in the House and 19 in the Senate caved and voted for it.

One… maybe two senators stand in the way of the second, even more disastrous multi-trillion-dollar spending bill that DC liberals want to decimate us with.

Everywhere I look, it seems like America is hanging on by the slimmest of margins. If liberty-loving Americans don’t band together, it’ll be lost.

Watching the Biden and Harris team move in was frightening enough, but the last 11 months have been completely terrifying. Their government, from cabinet secretaries down, are all radical leftist authoritarians. Their defense department lost Afghanistan with thousands of American citizens left behind as hostages. And with these spending bills, they are going to bankrupt our children and beyond.

Meanwhile, the Washington press corps is a bunch of slobbering idiots crawling over each other to help the White House and Congress screw average Americans.

Rogue Republicans who helped pass the infrastructure bill either do not understand the implications or wanted to give the opposition leverage.

If Democrats now can successfully link the infrastructure bill with the other enormous bill, euphemistically called an infrastructure bill when, in fact, it is another massive welfare bill, these renegade Republicans along with McCarthy  should be thrown out of the party and/or defeated at the polls.

If they did not understand the implications of what they did then they are too stupid to  remain in Congress.  Either way it is more proof Republicans are their own worst enemies.

Biden's shifting response to reporters asking about  compensating illegals who have been separated from their children  and then  refers reporters to the Attorney General it is one more attempt to lie their way out of the mess they have created.

Biden is no only a bald face liar but proves he can do it with a straight face.

Coulda, shoulda been done by Obama but he wanted to skirt The Senate and The Constitution so he could favor Iran.  Biden is there to make Obama, Iran's best friend and ally.

A New Iran Deal Could Be an Occasion for Bipartisan Unity

To make it stick, Biden can follow the Constitution and submit it to the Senate for ratification as a treaty.
