I play tennis with a 29 year veteran of The FBI and did so yesterday. I asked him about the IG's report and Director Wray's commentary. He told me there is nothing new because he was reminded annually about politics and bias so he, frankly, saw nothing significant in what Wray was currently proposing.
Technically speaking, based on his mandate the IG is justified in stating there was no direct evidence/linkage of bias when it came to shaping the FBI's decision but it should be evident, even to an idiot, that the entire FBI investigation covering the IG's report was rife with bias.
The corruption/bias seems mostly localized to those on floor 7 of the FBI but it is frightening to know The FBI leadership under Obama was corrupt, biased and resulted in an Oval Office directed white wash.
There never will be an investigation of the activity Obama played in establishing the tone that impacted/directed the FBI investigation's methods or lack thereof . Obama wanted Hillary to be the Democrat's nominee and he wanted her to be as untainted as possible. Thus, the signal went out to The FBI from The Justice department to proceed at their own personal risk if they wandered off the Obama reservation. Certainly if my assumption is correct about Obama he placed Comey in a difficult position.
There never will be any finger prints revealing the Oval Office's involvement and the questioning of Wray and the IG will be "party" directed. The Democrats will obfuscate and ask questions that lead the public away from the truth and Republican questioning will struggle to reveal/uncover what the truth actually was but I doubt the public will learn a great deal. Reading the entire 500 plus pages and coming to your own conclusions is probably the best approach but I doubt more than 100 independent citizens will do so if even that number.
These kind of hearings have become theater and I suspect, given time, it will all fade away. Democrats do not want the truth revealed because, in all likelihood, it will harm them politically . Republicans are generally incapable of getting the truth in view of the obfuscation caused by Democrats in combination with their own ineptness..
Also, remember, and never forget , Lt. Calley was the sole turkey blamed for Viet Nam War atrocities.
I suspect the hearings will justify one more reason to lose faith in the objectivity of government, the Justice Department, The FBI and those in charge because politics serves as a barrier to uncovering the truth. The questioning, in these hearings is meant to be politically selective and is designed to get answers each politician wants.. Truth is some abstract nonsense when it comes to Washington and when politics is involved truth becomes the first victim..

On another note, Democrats are back to browbeating the nation with their maudlin claim they want to protect illegal immigrant children from being separated from their parents. This is happening because Trump is enforcing the law in the hope it will force needed changes pertaining to illegal immigration in combination with funding making our borders safer and more secure.
The Democrats are maneuvering to make what is happening a political disaster for Republicans. Republicans are probably dumb and disorganized enough to allow their own slaughter at the hands of hypocrites.
Illegal immigration did not begin with Trump but his desire to solve the matter has become an albatross Democrats and their friends in the mass media want to hang around his neck.

It only matters now?
Barack Obama was the friend of the "undocumented immigrant" right? Liberals like to contrast how good Obama was to illegal aliens when it suits them, all to cast President Trump as the ogre who separates illegals from their families. Regardless of what you think the right policy is, liberals are, as usual, being wrong or dishonest.
No matter what they say, Barack Obama was not the warm and fuzzy dove on immigration that they would say. As a matter of fact, Obama was all over the map on immigration, depending on what he needed at the time; Obama cared more about the politics and winning reelection in 2012 than he did about a supposed humanitarian situation on the southern border, and we can prove it. We have a list of Obama immigration fails that puts the lie to liberals who are shrieking about Trump, who just wants to secure the border. The notion that children who were illegally transported into the United States should not be deported became government policy in 2012. Barack Obama used his "pen and phone" to make a promise to these illegal children that he would not enforce the law against them, something a president shouldn't do, as he swears an oath to enforce the laws of the United States. President Trump is willing to uphold Obama's inappropriate promise to these kids, so long as the border is secured. Democrats are not working with him but had no problem shutting down the government in January to fight for them. Don't mistake Trump's grace for Obama's unconstitutional political maneuvers.
Just like Obama was for traditional marriage between a man and a woman until the politics shifted on gay marriage, Obama did a bunch of deporting in his first term. Honestly, President Trump hasn't gotten to Obama level deportations from their 2012 high, mainly because Obama hit the snooze button on immigration for his second term, and that infrastructure wasn't in place. Liberals can scream about Trump deporting people all they want, but Obama still holds the record on deportations. We want Trump to catch up, though.
Obama spent his second term being rather lax about immigration enforcement, but let's give him some credit. Over 3 million were deported while he was president, but some came back and some left on their own; the Associated Press estimated that 11 million people remained here illegally in 2016. Obama's half-hearted enforcement that supposedly focused primarily on recent entries and criminal aliens didn't solve the problem. By deporting so many, he showed that he was capable of addressing the problem with greater effectiveness, but left President Trump with a massive mess to clean up. That is why the sanctuary city murder of Kate Steinle in San Francisco became an issue in 2016, and why MS-13 has surged as an issue in his second term, as the "unaccompanied minors" that received so much leniency from Obama turned out to have dangerous criminals in the mix.
2011, the Applied Research Center found more than 5,000 children stuck in foster care because their parents were detained by ICE, and that "One in four deportees have U.S.-born kids and face a total loss of parental rights". This problem isn't new, and Obama didn't fix it. If liberals think the president in charge is at fault for the net effect of immigration enforcement, meaning that lawbreakers cannot be shielded from the punishment of their crimes, then they should have spoken up when their guy was doing it.
Last month. liberals worked themselves into a fake-news lather when this photo started making the rounds on Twitter. The link in the tweet goes to an article that was clearly published in 2014, meaning that liberals were forced to confront the reality that Barack Obama was the one they should be angry with, not Donald Trump. Liberals who had spouted off in rage quietly deleted their tweets, but the fact remained that the same people could not bring themselves to focus their anger toward a Democrat president, and quietly continued in their hypocritical silence.
