My memos are themed and focus on three main topics: The Middle East, Politics and The Market.
To add a little sardonic humor I also post cartoons, links to videos and from time to time , as I am doing now, some humorous comments by kids etc to break the monotony of my gloomy memos, some of which are tongue in cheek as is this one. (See 1 and 1a below.)

Rep. Trey Gowdy, allegedly, was a fine district attorney and is a solid questioner with a good legal mind. The outing of Gen.Mike Flynn was illegal and is not in question. Gowdy sought to narrow who, possibly, could have been the leaker.
Also, there is no doubt the Obama Administration did, in fact, uncover Flynn's conversation so they did, in fact, engage in some form of eavesdropping. It may have been in conjunction with normal surreptitious activity but when they also happened to listen to an American citizen that person should not have been revealed but he was.
Democrats have sought to make contacts with Russians by Trump advisors a cause celeb-re. Time will tell whether Trump is a Russian Agent as was Obama. Until then, it would appear to me we should not allow Trump to further staff the government because he could be planting more KGB officers in the bowels of sensitive agencies. Let the Muslims, who Obama planted in government, remain in office until Trump has been vetted and found guilty of being a spy and/or exonerated.
The Democrats are doing the nation a great favor by thwarting Trump and we should applaud their efforts and not castigate them. And what about his beautiful wife. Is she too a Russian agent as was Michelle? You decide. (See 2 below.)

As I have noted in previous memos my former fraternity brother, Andy Falk, has to be deeply disturbed. (See 3 below.)

1a) Understanding Engineers #1
Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?"
The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want."
The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, "Good choice: The clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway."

To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
Understanding Engineers #3
A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!"
The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!"
The priest said, "Here comes the greens-keeper. Let's have a word with
him." He said, "Hello George, What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?"
The greens-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen.
They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime!."
The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight."
The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything she can do for them."
The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?"

Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body. One said, "It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints."
Another said, "No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections."
The last one said, "No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?"

Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.

An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn back into a beautiful princess and stay with you for one week."
The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket.
The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want."
Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.
Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess and that I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"
The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog - now that's cool."
The last one said, "No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?"

Trey Gowdy got right down to business with Comey – Had Him Squirming
Rep. Trey Gowdy questioned FBI Director James Comey Monday during a House Intelligence Committee hearing about leaks of classified information to the media.
"In reference to the taped call between Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn and the Russian ambassador, the South Carolina lawmaker grilled Comey about who can “unmask” a U.S. citizen when collecting intelligence.
Gowdy would later point out that making a person’s identity publicly known when protected by law is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
He asked how many people are able to unmask a person and what other agencies have the authority to do so — besides the FBI, Comey named the NSA, CIA and the Justice Department.
He also said the White House can request the agency collecting the intelligence to unmask a person, but said they can’t do it on their own.
Gowdy named a number of people from the Obama administration, to include former national security adviser Susan Rice, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and then-acting Attorney General Sally Yates, all of whom Comey confirmed would likely have had access to the name of an unmasked U.S. citizen.
He asked Comey if he briefed former President Barack Obama on any calls involving Flynn, but the director would not comment on his conversations with Obama.
Gowdy proceeded with the precision of a surgeon in discussing “nefarious motives” for leaking Flynn’s name, none of which reflected well on the last administration.
Regardless, Comey would not confirm whether an investigation into who unmasked Flynn is underway, although he confirmed earlier the bureau is investigating Trump campaign ties to Russia.

3) Why Isn’t MSM Reporting Richard Falk’s Hatred Of America, Israel, & Jews May Be Behind His Israel-Apartheid Claims?
Last week the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), published a report Israel of accusing Israel of being an “apartheid regime.”
The media reported that the paper was published, that U.S. Ambassador to the US Nikki Haley demanded the false report pulled, and when it was pulled that ESCWA Executive Secretary/ Jordanian diplomat Rima Khalaf who was one of the report’s authors quit because the report was pulled. The coverage gave the impression that the only reason the report was pulled was the U.S. objection to a report critical of its ally Israel, instead of the truth, that it was a biased tome written by a Jordanian diplomat and Richard Falk the former U.N. special rapporteur to the Palestinian territories. Falk is an American who believes 9/11 was an inside job, has said that the United States deserved the Boston Marathon bombing, and has a history of making anti-American, anti-Semitic and/or anti-Israel statements. In other words, like so much from coming out of the U.N., it was hopelessly biased before pen was ever put to paper.
Based in Beirut the ESCWA’s membership is comprised of 18 Arab countries, according to its website, which lists the state of Palestine as a full member, and works to strengthen cooperation and promote development.
The report labeling Israel as “Apartheid.” was immediately and rightfully rebuked by Ambassador Haley and even the Secretary General of the UN António Guterres distanced himself from the report:
“The United States is outraged by the report,” said Haley in a statement. “The United Nations secretariat was right to distance itself from this report, but it must go further and withdraw the report altogether.”
Based in Beirut, ESCWA is comprised of 18 Arab countries, according to its website, which lists the state of Palestine as a full member, and works to strengthen cooperation and promote development.
“That such anti-Israel propaganda would come from a body whose membership nearly universally does not recognize Israel is unsurprising,” said Haley.
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said “the report as it stands does not reflect the views of the secretary-general” and was done without consultations with the UN secretariat.
It is no surprise this committee of 18 Arab States picked Richard Falk to author the report. Falk is, has a history of anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, and anti-United States comments/actions and official opinions.
While Falk contends he bears no ill will against the Jews, but that belies the facts.
In 2011, British Prime Minister David Cameron,‘strongly condemned” Falk for publishing a cartoon showing a dog wearing a yarmulke with a Jewish Star, and wearing a USA shirt, urinating on lady Justice, and chewing on a dead body. This cartoon was so bad that even the left-loving ADL issued a condemnation.
Only after the cartoon caused a firestorm Falk reacted, He initially denied it was ant-Semitic then finally apologized to ease the pressure (then changed his reason for the apology).
Falk gave a glowing cover endorsement for the anti-Semitic book “The Wandering Who?”
Attorney Dershowitz read the hate book endorsed by Falk, and wrote an essay pointing out the books many anti-Semitic assertions including:
- While the Holocaust “was not at all a historical narrative,” the “accusations of Jews making matzoh out of young Goyim’s blood,” may be true (page 175, 185).
- Jews caused the recent credit crunch, which the author calls “the Zio-punch” (page 22).
- The American media “failed to warn the American people of the enemy within” because of money (page 27).
- “[M]ore and more Jews are being pulled into an obscure, dangerous and unethical fellowship” (page 21).
- If Iran and Israel fight a nuclear war that kills millions of people, “some may be bold enough to argue that ‘Hitler might have been right after all’” (page 179).
Falk’s support of false and hateful charges about Jews isn’t limited to his praise of one anti-Semitic book. As reported by UN Watch, Falk’s blog is loaded with “crude anti-Semitic comments” written by contributors Falk defends, praises, and refuses to remove.
For example:
- “The Protocols [of the Elders of Zion] is an uncannily accurate description of what is happening right now.”
- “The world is beginning to understand just how toxic Jewish religious practice and cultural indoctrination really is.”
- “Judaism is a pyramid scheme of social shaming leading to great accumulation of wealth by those at the apex.”
Falk’s report diminished the horrors of Apartheid by using it inappropriately to make false charges against Israel. He has made similar inappropriate references to the Holocaust to make false charges against Israel. When Falk was first appointed to his UN Human Rights Council job, Kathy Shaidle reported in Front Page Magazine:
Yitzhak Levanon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, responded to Falk’s appointment by recalling some of the professor’s most notorious writings, including his unapologetic use of the word “holocaust” to “portray the ongoing and intensifying abuse of the Palestinian people by Israel.” The charge [against Falk] is well founded. In a July 2007 article titled “Slouching Toward a Palestinian Holocaust,” Falk rhetorically asked whether it was “an irresponsible overstatement to associate the treatment of Palestinians with this criminalized Nazi record of collective atrocity?” Falk’s revealing answer: “I think not.” Demonstrating that he was incapable of evaluating Israeli policy with balance – as his new UN post would seem to require – Falk proceeded to condemn Israeli policies as a “holocaust-in-the-making” and deplored what he called the “genocidal tendencies” of the Jewish state.
Falk is also a 9/11 “truther.” When he worked at the United Nations he wanted an investigation as to whether “some sort of controlled explosion from within” destroyed the Twin Towers, he told FOXNews.com:
“I do think there are questions that haven’t been answered, questions about the way the buildings collapsed and the failure to heed a variety of signals that there was danger coming,” Falk said.
Falk denied that he disagreed with the official (and truthful) account of 9/11, he said the charges against him of being a “truther” “were made to divert “attention from my criticisms of Israel’s occupation policies in the Palestinian territories.”
But any examination of Falk’s statements and actions since 9/11 verify that he has tried to convince people the “real” story of 9/11 is unknown and needs to be investigated. This includes the fact he appeared on Kevin Barrett’s Truth Jihad Radio show more than once, making claims such as:
“Questioning that deeply the official version of 9/11 does touch the third rail of American political sensitivities, and there is an attempt to discredit and destroy anyone that makes such a bold statement,” Falk continued. “This has intimidated a lot of people, and makes people more reluctant than they might otherwise be to raise these suspicions about how to understand that transformative event that has been used to project American power around the world and to engage in these very destructive and dysfunctional wars, Iraq and Afghanistan being the main examples.”
Although he doesn’t say this one was an inside job, Falk contends that the US has itself to blame for the Boston Marathon bombing. In an op-ed in the 4/22/13 “Foreign Policy Journal” titled “ A Commentary on the Marathon Murders” Falk contended that the U.S., because of its fantasy of global domination, belief that Islamist terrorists were behind 9/11, and because it listens to Israel, got what it deserved in Boston.
That wasn’t his only over-the-line attack on America. In a 2003 article titled “Will the Empire be Fascist?” Falk cites “unaccountable military power,” “uncritical and chauvinistic patriotism,” and “an authoritarian approach to law enforcement” as indicators of America’s move toward fascism. Less than two years after 9/11, Falk’s article claimed other examples of the slide toward fascism include “periodic alarmist warnings of mega-terrorist imminent attacks that fail to materialize, and by an Attorney General John Ashcroft, “who seems to exult in an authoritarian approach to law enforcement.”
In a NY Times piece called “Trusting Khomeini,” published nine months before our Iran embassy people were taken hostage, Falk contented that Americans were giving the Ayatollah a bad rap:
More even than any third‐world leader, he has been depicted in a manner calculated to frighten. President Carter and Zbigniew Brzezinski have until very recently associated him with religious fanaticism. The news media have defamed him in many ways, associating him with efforts to turn the clock back 1,300 years, with virulent anti‐Semitism, and with a new political disorder, “theocratic fascism\
Despite the above and many other writings and statements, the mainstream media accounts reported Nikki Haley putting pressure on the U.N. to remove Richard Falk’s report. But that was only a small part of the story. The mainstream media neglected to report about one of the two authors of the report, Richard Falk’s hatred of America, Jews, and the U.S.’s strongest ally in the Middle East Israel, a hatred that had to filter his vision of what is going on between Israel and the Palestinians.
The crazy part of it all is that Richard Falk is both American and was born Jewish. I cannot begin to explain why this man hates his country and faith so much. Perhaps the bullies at Hebrew school forced him to put his “fruit of the looms on his head” during religious classes instead of a yarmulke, or maybe they gave him lousy gifts for his Bar Mitzvah, maybe he hates brisket or he choked on a matzoh ball once during a Passover Seder. Nevertheless, the evidence above proves Richard Falk is a true Jew-hating Jew, who does not love or appreciate the United States, the country that allowed him to live in freedom, and utter the hateful things above which were ignored by the mainstream media this past week.

4) The Most Dangerous Addiction of Them All: Entitlements
All addictions — whether to drugs, alcohol, gambling, sex or cigarettes — are very hard to escape.
There is one addiction, however, that may be more difficult than any other to escape, in part because it is not even regarded as an addiction. It is entitlements addiction, the addiction to getting something for nothing.
One indication as to the power of entitlements addiction is the fact that while great numbers of people have voluntarily given up drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc. — almost always at great pain — few give up an addiction to entitlements. For the majority of able-bodied people who get cash payments, food stamps, subsidized housing, free or subsidized health insurance, and other welfare benefits, the thought of giving up any one of those and beginning to pay for them with their own earned money is as hard as giving up alcohol is for an alcoholic.
Politicians know this, which is why it is close to impossible to ever reduce entitlements. And, of course, the left knows this, which is why the left almost always wins a debate over entitlements. Every American who is the beneficiary of an entitlement backs them, and many who are not beneficiaries of entitlements would like to be.
Aside from ideology, this is why the left constantly seeks to increase entitlements. The more people receiving government benefits, the more people vote left.
In this sense, the left in every country — in America, the Democratic Party — should literally be regarded as a drug dealer. Virtually every American given a free benefit becomes an addict who relies more and more on his dealer, which is exactly what the left seeks.
As noted at the outset, one reason entitlements addiction is so powerful is unlike other addictions, it is not regarded as an addiction. As a result, few entitlement addicts see themselves as addicted. Why, then, would any of them seek treatment? To the entitlement addict, receiving entitlements is as natural and uncontroversial as breathing air. Air is free, and so are entitlements.
Another reason entitlements addiction is unique among addictions is that very few drug, alcohol or gambling addicts believe that they are owed drugs, alcohol or their gambling debts. Entitlement addicts, on the other hand, believe that society owes them every entitlement they receive — and often more. The very word "entitlement" conveys the message that the recipient has a right to the benefits. So there is a moral component for entitlement addicts that does not exist among other addicts (except for opioid dependents, who are in pain; these patients really are owed painkillers, and society is immoral for not allowing them to receive them).
Not only do entitlement addicts believe there is moral virtue to their addiction but so do a vast number of non-addicts known as progressives. They believe that there is a moral imperative to give people more and more entitlements. This, in turn, feeds the moral self-image of those dependent on entitlements.
Yet another reason for the uniqueness of entitlements addiction is it ultimately does more damage to society than any other addiction. Other addicts can ruin their own lives and those of loved ones, and drunk drivers kill and maim people. But society as a whole can survive their addictions. That is not the case with entitlement addicts. The more people who receive and come to depend on entitlements, the sooner society will collapse economically. Society does not directly pay for drug addicts' drugs, alcoholics' alcohol or gamblers' gambling debts, but it pays every penny for entitlement addicts' addiction. In fact, the current U.S. national debt is about equal to the reported $22 trillion this country has spent on entitlement programs in the last 50 years.
When you combine the addiction and selfishness of many (certainly not all) of those who are dependent on entitlements (including middle- and upper-class Americans who receive a home mortgage deduction); the tendency for the addiction to grow from one generation to the next; the dependence of one of the two major political parties on the votes of those who receive entitlements for the party's very existence; and the belief of tens of millions of non-addicted progressives that society is morally obligated to give more and more people more and more entitlements, it becomes very difficult to see a solution.
In the meantime, the entitlement state in every country is failing, forcing them to bring in tens of millions of migrants — many of whom share none of the countries' values — to keep the entitlement state alive.
This addiction ultimately ruins the character of many of its recipients, the economy of all the countries in which it exists in large numbers and the value system that created the prosperity that made so many entitlements possible in the first place.
But other than American conservatives, almost no one even recognizes it as a major problem, let alone an addiction
