This from a friend and now fellow memo reader:
"Dick,
By 8:00 AM the FBI had already labeled this a “terrorist act.” By 11:00 AM, the network news had dumbed it down to “mass shootings” and the senior (I presume) Imam of the Orlando area went before a national audience on the News and called for an end to these “mass shootings.” The bodies are not even cool and the revisionists are already at work. The most the president could do was lower the White House flag to half-mast. My observations and two related questions: Observations: 1. The murderer was known to the FBI who had a file on him for several years. 2. He apparently purchased the guns used this past week. 3. He presumably underwent the usual and customary background government checks prior to taking possession of the guns. Questions: 1. How many dots does it take to connect a) a man with an Arab name, b) a potential danger already known to the FBI to have terrorist ties and c) the recent purchase of two deadly weapons of mass destruction before d) someone gets suspicious about the picture being drawn. A corollary Q: can we really trust the government to accurately vet 200,000 refuges from the Middle East before admitting them to this country? Anyone who thinks so, is an utter fool, IMHO. This includes, but is not limited to, the President of the United States. E-"
" My response: " The FBI cannot arrest a person(s) on the basis of suspicion until they actually commit a crime nor do they have sufficient staff to follow them and the fact that he bought weapons would have to be , somehow, technically linked to their investigation file so they would be notified and then might be able to react.
Too many pieces on the chessboard."

2a) I'm a Gay Activist, and After Orlando, I Have Switched My Vote to Trump
This is the saddest day of my life. I can't even wrap my mind around the horror of what happened last night in Orlando, where 50 joyful dancing queers were murdered by a religious extremist. I'm sad -- devastated, in my soul -- about that; but I'm also sad that the events of Orlando have shattered my political beliefs, as I can no longer swear allegiance to a peace-love-and-unicorns progressive philosophy that only helps to get my fellow queers killed.
And the "All of A Sudden" list grows daily.
Gorka: ‘Wake Up, America, the War Is Here’
by Breitbart TV
In appearance on Fox News Channel on Sunday, Breitbart National Security senior editor Dr. Sebastian Gorka reacted to the mass shooting in Orlando, FL early Sunday morning resulting in the deaths of 50 people and 53 injured.
The shooter, identified as 29-year-old Omar Mateen, is believed to have pledged an allegiance to the radical terrorist group ISIS, to which Gorka argued is evidence that the war has come to the United States.
“In the past 15 years, we haven’t seen an Episcopalian suicide bomber,” he said. “We haven’t seen Zoroastrian mass murderers. We’ve seen Muslim extremists. If you deny that, you are in a fantasy land, and you’re endangering American citizens.”
“It’s time to wake up, America,” he added. “The war is here.” (emphasis in red added)
Indeed it is!

Irony of ironies. Democrats are apparently having a very high wall constructed which will surround their convention site in The City of Brotherly Love, but they oppose one and berate Trump for wanting one to keep illegals from swarming into our nation. Is this hypocrisy? You decide. (See 1 below.)

Monday, Trump will go after Obama instead of the Clinton's.
The liberal press and media have to defend Obama and protect Hillary, so their long knives are drawn and I expect anything Trump has to say will be reported in the most negative light.
Actually the apologists have already begun to attack Trump by accusing him of trying to make political hay out of the Orlando attack claiming he spoke before the facts were known etc.
Obama has been put on the defensive by events in Orlando and the press and media will do whatever they can to portray any attack on Obama and/or Hilary as unpatriotic etc. After all they need to protect their anointed.
Patriotic Americans are supposed to bow our heads and remain silent because Obama's White House has lowered the flag. Stay tuned. (See 2 and 2a below.)
This has been around for some time but it is probably more relevant now. Individually speaking, each dot offers no clue but cumulatively the dots form a pattern even the blind can see. The pattern is one of contempt for our values, customs and heritage. They reflect the disemboweling of our nation by a man who has sworn to protect and defend and yet has consistently taken actions that are quite opposite.
It is the story/parable of the frog in the pot of hot water all over again. Raise the temperature gradually until he is boiled.(See 2b below.)

For every person who is a market expert you will be able to hear a different view because no one really knows.
Some are better than others, some are wiser than others and some have a better sense and interpretive ability.
You should always judge for yourself.
I , more or less, concur with this analyst and would add the Orlando massacre as another negative factor that the market must overcome.
First, because it proves America is under attack domestically by those who want to kill us and we have an administration that refuses to comprehend this religious Muslim madness and second, because these domestic attacks have a cumulative economic impact on our psyche and way of life.
It too shall pass, but one cannot ignore the reality of being at war even though The White House is and will remain in denial. Psychology is so much of what makes markets rise and fall. Spilled blood has consequences. (See 4 below.)

Obama has handcuffed the department charged with protecting our borders and tells them, look the other way as illegals fly over walls to enter America. Yet, our government marshaled all its might against an Apache eagle feather ceremony and then relented.
Meanwhile, gays are slaughtered by a Muslim terrorist and Obama decides to cancel a campaign trip.
Did he do so just in case more native Americans seek to pluck more feathers and he can swing into action?
I feel a lot safer knowing he is in The White House protecting eagles. Good to know we have a "plucky "prwesident.

1) Can you say hypocrites? The most hilarious part is that the fence in intended to keep DEMOCRATS out. They want a wall around the convention center to keep out Sander’s supporters, but definitely not one on our borders to keep out terrorists. This should tell you everything needed to know about the dingy Democrats.
The change comes in the aftermath of the massacre at the Orlando gay nightclub in which 50 people were shot dead in a terrorist attack for which Islamic State claimed responsibility.
Trump said that "If we do not get tough and smart real fast, we are not going to have a country anymore. Because our leaders are weak, I said this was going to happen – and it is only going to get worse. I am trying to save lives and prevent the next terrorist attack. We can't afford to be politically correct anymore."
The real estate mogul also made use of the fact that the terrorist was the son of Afghani-born parents to emphasize a common anti-immigrant theme during his campaign, pointing out that the U.S. admits more "than 100,000 lifetime migrants from the Middle East each year. Since 9/11, hundreds of migrants and their children have been implicated in terrorism in the United States."
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, Trump had also tweeted:

Security at the Sports Complex during the Democratic National Convention next month will include “no-scale fencing” to enclose the Wells Fargo Center and Xfinity Live!, the Secret Service special agent in charge said in an interview Thursday.
But exact boundaries of the security perimeter around the sports arena, where the convention will take place July 25-28, are not yet finalized, Special Agent James Henry told NBC10.com.
“We’re not quite there to talk about the perimeter yet,” Henry said. “We’re probably a couple weeks away from finalizing that. But expect some closures.”
For the second time in less than a year, Philadelphia is playing host to an event that brings with it the designation of National Special Security Event (NSSE). Last year’s papal visit was hailed a success in the days and weeks after Pope Francis came to the city for a historic weekend. But it caused months of angst leading up to the event. Much of the unease settled around what became the planned shutdown of Center City to vehicle traffic.

2)Trump to Change Speech from Clintons to Terrorism, Calls on Obama to Resign
By Brian Freeman
Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is reportedly changing the focus of his planned speech on Monday at a New Hampshire college that was supposed to attack Democratic rival Hillary Clinton but instead will apparently concentrate on terrorism, national security and immigration, ABC News reports.
The change comes in the aftermath of the massacre at the Orlando gay nightclub in which 50 people were shot dead in a terrorist attack for which Islamic State claimed responsibility.
In a statement following the killings, Trump said that President Barack Obama should resign for his refusal to even say the words "radical Islam"
Trump also warned about future dangers of this policy, because "Hillary Clinton wants to dramatically increase admissions from the Middle East, bringing in many hundreds of thousands during a first term – and we will have no way to screen them, pay for them, or prevent the second generation from radicalizing."
Trump was criticized for his remarks by many on social media, including Republicans, especially for the tweets immediately after the massacre, Time reports.
The backlash was harsh, with many saying Trump is self-centered even in moments of tragedy. Other comments criticized him for declaring it an Islamic-inspired terrorist attack and trying to score political points before the facts of the incident were even clear.
Yes, there is a war between religious fundamentalism and the spirit of love and tolerance. But we progressives here in America still labor under the delusion that the religion we need to combat is Christianity. But that's a strawman opponent, and has been so for decades. Since the 1990s, Christian extremists have essentially lost all their power, and are now toothless nonplayers in the "culture wars." Meanwhile, Muslim extremists, with guns, murder us, and on the left our only response is to bleat about "Islamophobia" and jump through hoops trying to explain away the self-evident religious motivation for the killings.
Oh sure, all year I've been playing the "Bernie or Hillary?" game with all the other default-Democrats in my social and professional circles. But this is no longer some kind of game. Our lives are on the line. Although I voted for Hillary in the primary, I now cringe inwardly with shame and embarrassment at having done so, and in November I will vote for Trump.
Why? Yes, I know that Trump is an a**hole, Trump is a clown, Trump is a motormouth buffoon. You don't have to convince me of that. But he's also the only person saying anything about putting the brakes on Islamic extremism, and in light of what happened last night in Orlando, suddenly that is the only issue that really matters when it comes to the health, well-being and safety of the queer community.
As an aside, Trump has never said anything homophobic, and has always gotten along well with the gay community in New York, so there's that in his favor as well.
I also now realize, with brutal clarity, that in the progressive hierarchy of identity groups, Muslims are above gays. Every pundit and politician -- and that includes President Obama and Hillary Clinton and half the talking heads on TV -- who today have said "We don't know what the shooter's motivation could possibly be!" have revealed to me their true priorities: appeasing Muslims is more important than defending the lives of gay people. Every progressive who runs interference for Islamic murderers is complicit in those murders, and I can no longer be a part of that team.
I'm just sick of it. Sick of the hypocrisy. Sick of the pandering. Sick of the deception.
And you know what makes me angrier still? The fact that I have to hide my identity and remain anonymous in writing this essay. If I outed myself as a Trump supporter, I would be harassed and doxxed and shunned by everyone I know and by the Twitter lynch mobs which up until yesterday I myself led
I am ashamed. I am angry. And I am sad. I don't want to vote for Trump, but I must. And if you care about the safety of the gay community in America, so must you
2b)All of a sudden
Seven Short Years Have Passed. Before Obama ... there was virtually no outlandish presence of Islam in America .• All of a sudden:Islam is taught in schools. Christianity and the bible are banned in schools.• All of a sudden: We must allow prayer rugs everywhere and allow for Islamic prayer in schools, airports and businesses.
• All of a sudden:
We must stop serving pork in some prisons.• All of a sudden:We are inundated with law suits by Muslims who are offended by American culture.• All of a sudden:We must allow burkas to be worn everywhere even though you have no idea who or what is covered up under them.• All of a sudden:Muslims are suing employers and refusing to do their jobs if they personally deem it conflicts with Sharia Law.• All of a sudden:The Attorney General of the United States vows to prosecute anyone who engages in "anti-Muslim speech".• All of a sudden:Jihadists, who engage in terrorism and openly admit they acted in the name of Islam and ISIS, are emphatically declared they are NOT Islamic by our leaders and/or their actions are determined NOT to be terrorism, but other nebulous terms like "workplace violence."• All of a sudden:It becomes policy that Secular Middle East dictators that were benign or friendly to the West, must be replaced by Islamists and the Muslim Brotherhood.• All of a sudden:Our troops are withdrawn from Iraq and the Middle East, giving rise to ISIS .• All of a sudden:America has reduced its nuclear stockpiles to 1950 levels, as Obama ' s stated goal of a nuke-free America by the time he leaves office continues uninterrupted.• All of a sudden:A deal with Iran must be made at any cost, with a pathway to nuclear weapons and HUNDREDS of BILLIONS of dollars handed over to fund their programs.• All of a sudden:America APOLOGIZES to Muslim states and sponsors of terror worldwide for acts of aggression, war and sabotage THEY perpetrate against our soldiers.• All of a sudden:
The American Navy is diminished to 1917 Pre-World War I levels of only 300 ships. The Army is at pre-1940 levels. The Air Force scraps 500 planes and planned to retire the use of the A-10 Thunderbolt close air support fighter. A further draw down of another 40,000 military personnel is in progress.• All of a sudden:Obama seeks to empty Guantanamo Bay of captured Jihadists and let them loose in Jihad-friendly Islamic states. He continues his demand to close the facility.• All of a sudden:America negotiates with terrorists and trades FIVE Taliban commanders for a deserter and Jihad sympathizer.• All of a sudden:There is less money for American poor, disabled veterans, jobless Americans, hungry Americans, or displaced Americans but there is increasing funds for Obama' s "Syrian refugee" resettlement programs and illegal immigration.• All of a sudden:The most important thing Obama calls for, after mass shootings, is the disarmament of American Citizens and attacks on the 2d Amendment.• All of a sudden:The President of the United States cannot attend theChristian Funeral of a Supreme Court Justice and a former First Lady because of previous (seemingly unimportant) commitments.
And the "All of A Sudden" list grows daily.

3a) The Media Is Spinning A False Narrative
By Steve Berman
The false narrative emerging from the media seeks to make a few points, all of which are red herrings and straw men designed to take attention from the truth.
Story after story references these points, and they quote each other liberally (take the pun as you wish). Fox News quoted a coworker at security firm G4S who called him “toxic” and “unhinged.” TheTimes of London quoted CNN, about his first wife, “He was mentally unstable and mentally ill.” Anti-gun New York Daily News quoted NBC News, who spoke to Mateen’s father Seddique Matteen, who insisted the rampage had nothing to do with religion.
The Washington Post also did a story on Seddique Mateen defending his son.
The shooter’s father has close connections with his native Afghanistan, and has traveled back there as recently as 2014, even interviewing Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul, according to the Washington Post. He made a series of Youtube videos praising the Taliban and railing against the U.S.
The Boston Globe appears to be at a complete loss as to Mateen’s motive for the killings, because there’s no actual proof (besides the killer’s own words pledging allegiance is ISIS) he was tied to any jihadist causes.
Yes, they actually wrote that. Apparently a confession isn’t evidence to them.
We can either accept the media narrative, that some unknown complex mix of motives drove this mentally ill man to buy readily available assault weapons and kill people he simply hated for no reason, or we can apply Occam’s Razor–the simplest explanation is usually the correct one.
The simplest explanation is that Mateen was a radicalized Muslim, who moved easily with other radicalized Muslims, some of whom are probably living their lives in Orlando. Only now would the FBI be interviewing those people and find connections.
The press is weaving a false narrative to fashion a complex explanation for a simple problem. We have a cancer of radical Islam growing in America. Political correctness, the inability of our president to accept the problem because of his beliefs about Islam being a religion of peace, and impossible restrictions placed on federal, state and local law enforcement have made this crime possible.
Our government is ignoring the cancer and it will continue to grow, as long as the country keeps buying the media’s spin.
4)
Soros and Icahn have their profiles carved into the Mt. Rushmore of investing legends. Thus, there is no surprise that their recent vocal bearishness helped to tank stocks on Friday. In addition, there was a new poll showing the Brexit vote is closer than previously imagined. This dose of uncertainty added more fuel to the downside in Europe and the States.
I jest when blaming Soros and Icahn for hurting stocks. There is actually a simpler explanation. When you are on the verge of making new highs investors often look around to see if the coast is clear. They do not have to look far to see potential problems such as slowing worldwide growth, manufacturing slump, China concerns, 2 bad US employment reports back to back etc. Add it all up, and you can appreciate why the battle over 2135 will not be an easy one. Because to make new highs after the one year hiatus, investors have to be truly convinced that conditions are right for continued stock advances. And to be truly convinced there are not some serious red flags that need to be dealt with. Unfortunately the economic calendar for the week ahead does not have enough of the answers. Those wishing for more clarity will need to wait for the reports the first week of July. Expect stocks to play in a range of 2080 to 2135 until that time.
