When doors were closed by bigots and haters, newcomers had to find openings and gaps in the chain-link fences of prejudice to get a foot in the door.
“Affirmative Action” never was affirmative. From the day of its inception, it closed doors to people who had worked hard all their lives to excel and succeed. It imposed barriers against those who had earned success, while it advantaged less qualified — but politically favored — contenders who relied instead on government cheating and handouts to reward them for less achievement. Democrats pushed the prejudice because they need Black votes, or they are political toast. It was a plain matter of bribery and political payola from the outset.
In American politics, words are used to deceive. Instead of calling Obamacare for what it was, the Democrats called it the “Affordable Care” Act. And so it goes with every law and regulation: pure falsehood and fraud. The true name for the monstrosity of “Affirmative Action” was and is “Quotas.” Congress and the courts, dominated until Donald Trump by liberals named by both Democrat and Republican presidents, simply allowed racial and ethnic quotas to define Americans. If you were a member of the right race or ethnic group, you were given advantages that were denied to others — and basic civil rights were withdrawn from those others.
In terms of race, Caucasians were cheated. In terms of ethnicity, Asians were cheated. As to religion, Jews were cheated. Each American group was denied its objectively fair portion of the American pie under these despicable quotas that kept them out. For Jews in particular, we have faced quotas for 2,000 years, always aiming to keep us out. How did we deal with it? We realized there was no point in complaining to the people keeping us out because, at best, they did not care, and, at worst, that was the whole idea: to hear Jews wailing. So, we did the only thing we could do: We learned for ourselves and taught our kids that, if you want an even and fair chance in this world, you have to work twice as hard as everyone else around you, do twice as well, abide by every law so that “they” cannot disqualify you on those grounds, and just beat “them” at “their” own game.
We emphasized education like crazy. We went into teaching and the skilled professions that required learning. And the transition served a second purpose. Inasmuch as we were expelled from so many European countries so often, we learned to get out of farming because we could not take the land with us on the way out. But we always could bring with us the knowledge we had acquired in our heads.
That is what drove people like me to qualify for the Ivy League and, many years later, for a top national law school. As I then surveyed the scene and saw how discrimination against Orthodox Jews was rife in law school and in major law-firm practice — a bigotry and prejudice practiced also by non-Orthodox Jews of the George Soros universe — I asked myself what else I could do to become indispensable. So, I contended beyond excelling in my courses and endeavored to make law review, and I eventually was named chief articles editor. I was not secure that even that would be enough to overcome the barriers of prejudice, so I also contended to become a federal appeals court clerk. And even with all that, I still encountered actual, in-my-face discrimination during job interviews and at two of the four major law firms where I practiced over the years. But I had my secret that I share here with all my readers: I had made myself indispensable. (RELATED: We Are Jews Against Soros)
People, especially anti-Semites and even ignorant philo-Semites, sometimes talk about “The Rothschilds.” You should read up on them, at least see the former Broadway musical. Listen to the song “In My Own Lifetime.” It’s only two minutes. The anti-Semitism when Mayer Amschel Rothschild lived was so bad that there were quotas — “Affirmative Action” — limiting how many Jews could marry each year. Jews actually had to pay bribes to government officials to allow one extra Jewish wedding to take place in a given year. So Rothschild decided he had to make himself, a little Jew in a ghetto, indispensable. And he figured it out. He had five sons, and he sent each son respectively to each of five European capitals — London, Paris, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Naples — and they set up a family bank. Why to five separate cities? Because Mayer Rothschild knew that, in any given year, any European country would clamp down and impose ever-more-brutal anti-Jewish laws, so the best bet was to set up as many locations as possible so that, when the proto-Nazis would take over one country, the money could be moved to somewhere safer, whether England, France, Germany, Austria, or Italy.
Look at Asian Americans. First of all, they are not yellow. It is an outright fraud on society and especially on them to include Asian Americans as “people of color,” just to con them to vote for the intersectionalist woke. Second, as a group, they work and study their tails off. (Obviously, it always is iffy to generalize about people collectively, and there are so many exceptions to such efforts.) I admire Asian Americans because, as many American Jews have assimilated and become the same as everyone around them, the Asians have become America’s “New Jews”: the hard-working, high-achieving minority who, despite blatant discrimination, are determined to succeed — and do. They work so hard, so honestly, play by the rules — and bear the full brunt of the “Affirmative Action” quotas and bigotry against true achievers. The only insane thing about Asians, as with many Jews, is that they self-destruct at the voting booths by voting for the very Democrats and woke “progressives” who work day-and-night to cut them down and keep them out. It’s crazy.
Look at these Harvard admissions data, cited on page 31 of Thursday’s Supreme Court opinion in Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College: During the 10 years between 2009–2018, every single year Harvard took in a class that was 10–12 percent Black, 8–12 percent Hispanic, and 17–20 percent Asian American. What a coincidence! Who woulda thunk? What are the odds that every year, for 10 consecutive years, the percentages of student admissions would fall on racial and ethnic lines in such identical proportions?
The odds in a bigoted, prejudiced America: 100 percent.
And here’s the even crazier thing: After almost half a century since the 1978 Bakke decision allowed these quotas — 45 years, two generations — what have the beneficiaries of the “Affirmative Action” bigotry amassed to show for it? At what point does a handout and some government largesse come to an end, with the beneficiary now able to stand on his or her own two feet? Well, in this case, as with so many other “Great Society” handouts, it’s still all the same. After 45 years of advantaged quotas, instead of demonstrated gain and achievement, the new demand is for hundreds of millions — even billions of dollars — in racial “reparations.” Nothing changes.
There has always been one and only one way to succeed in America: beat the haters at their own game. Catholic Americans figured that out. Italians, Irish, Polish, German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and so many other Americans figured that out. Jews figured that out. Disadvantaged Protestants figured it out.
“They” would not let us into “their” industries, so we created our own new industries. It’s not the stereotype that Jews are smarter than others. Frankly, look at how stupidly so many vote against their own interests. It’s just that necessity is the mother of invention. So Jews found industries that others would not touch or had not yet conceived, and they went there. When big law firms would not hire them, Jews started their own big law firms. Anti-Semites would never hire such lawyers to represent them — until the Jewish law firms started beating the “white-shoe” “country club” firms in courts. And then the anti-Smites found new love for the Israelites.
That successful journey to overcome bigotry and barriers is why so many American ethnic groups are associated initially with specific businesses: Irish Americans in law enforcement and first-response services, Italians in construction, Chinese in laundries, Indo-Asian Americans in convenience stores, some Southeast Asian Americans in donuts. And, once there, they advanced higher and higher to gain their slice of the American pie. And each group leap-frogged those with the advantage of having been here before them but who, instead of self-reliance, had relied on government quotas to hand them silver platters.
A closing observation. New York City has miserably inadequate public schools, but it also has a handful of top-flight elite high schools with the highest academic standards, worthy of the cream of the crop. One such school seems to exist in each borough. In Manhattan, it is Stuyvesant High School, named for one of the worst anti-Semites and overall bigots in American history and, appropriately, populated by “disproportionate” numbers of Jewish and Asian students. Half a century after Bakke, the data were published for the current class of Stuyvesant’s newly admitted students. Of 762 admitted in a city that is propelled by “Affirmative Action” quotas in its every gesture and virtually every policy, where anti-Black prejudice in government-institution admissions is inconceivable, where Blacks compose two-thirds of the school-age population, and where the city’s Black population have benefited from two generations of “Affirmative Action,” how many of those 762 kids who made the grade to enter Stuyvesant were Black?

Remarkable Statement, French Police Unions Condemn ‘Savage Hordes;’ Say France is in a Civil War

Amid violent riots in France, the two main police unions have declared in a written statement that France is in a civil war and warned the government that once the rule of law is restored, the police will be in the “resistance” against the government.
In a remarkable, strongly worded statement posted on social media on June 30, the Alliance Police Nationale and UNSA wrote: “Today the police are in combat because we are at war, tomorrow we will be in resistance and the government should realize that.”
The French government announced on Friday that it was putting some 45,000 police on duty to combat the rioters, Fox News reported. The violence erupted following the death of an Algerian teenager.
Police pulled over the teenager in the Paris suburb of Nanterre on Tuesday morning during a traffic stop.
An officer appeared to shoot Nahel as the car suddenly pulls away, traveling only a short distance before crashing, with Nahel dying at the scene. Police took the offending officer into custody and opened an investigation into charges of voluntary manslaughter, with charges brought against him on Friday.
Reuters reported that, in an interview with French television, the police officer’s lawyer, Laurent-Franck Lienard, said his client had aimed at the driver’s leg but was bumped when the car took off, causing him to shoot toward his chest. “Obviously (the officer) didn’t want to kill the driver,” he said according to the report.
Since Tuesday some 200 police officers have been injured. The number of people arrested as of Sunday morning had grown to more than 3,000, with another 150 arrests made overnight into Monday as the rioting seemed to ease.
Sunday night, Dorian Damelincourt, a young fireman reportedly died of heart attack as he tried to extinguish a fierce blaze in an underground parking garage in the suburb of Saint-Denis, just north of Paris.
“Overnight, while fighting against a blaze involving several vehicles in an underground car park in Saint-Denis, a young Corporal-Chief of the Paris Fire Brigade died despite very rapid treatment by his teammates,” said Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin.
The police unions said in their message that the police must be allowed to crack down hard on the rioters to take back control of the streets.
“Facing these savage hordes, asking for calm is no longer enough, it must be imposed!” the message reads. “Restoring the republican order and putting the apprehended beyond the capacity to harm should be the only political signals to give. In the face of such exactions, the police family must stand together. Our colleagues, like the majority of citizens, can no longer bear the tyranny of these violent minorities.”
The statement made clear that all options must be on the table to restore order.
“The time is not for union action, but for combat against these ‘pests.’ Surrendering, capitulating, and pleasing them by laying down arms are not the solutions in light of the gravity of the situation,” the unions said. All means must be put in place to restore the rule of law as quickly as possible.”
Former presidential candidate Jean-Luc Melenchon reportedly condemned the police unions’ statement, tweeting that “unions calling for civil war should learn to keep quiet.”
According to Fox News, however, “the dramatic statement” may have jolted French President Emmanuel Macron to embrace a “more hawkish” response to the widespread anarchy and violence.
Macron was criticized last week for dancing at an Elton John concert in Paris while France was being decimated by the rioting hordes.
