I have written Rep. Joe Buck and invited him to come to one of SIRC"s True Perspective's and talk about his book. Meanwhile this is a comment I received from a dear friend and fellow memo reader; "Dick, Thanks for that very excellent review of "Drain The Swamp"!! The analyses and conclusions are undoubtedly credible. It sounds much worse than I had imagined! I now fear we are in a bog of quicksand, not a branch or sign of life for hundreds of miles. If you do not like Conservative broadcasters and television personalities who are mostly male and vulnerable accuse them of racism and/or attacks on women, real or contrived.
It has become the new method of ridding the airwaves of those who irritate liberals.
On the other hand, if on campuses just break windows, yell, scream and threaten the safety of speakers. It works as we are finding out because the police will be told do nothing and college administrators will withdraw into their shells.
Of course, while all of this anarchist behaviour is taking place the nation and our freedoms are being flushed down the toilet. (See 1 below.)
America faces many types of threats from the outside. Most are of a military nature. I have consistently argued that one of the most pernicious and dangerous threats from "within" is that of PC'ism.
There is no doubt as society advances it recognizes and, therefore, has an obligation to correct patterns of behaviour that are misguided, laws that are discriminatory etc. The problem is we often go overboard in the zealous manner in which we correct these wrongs both from a practical stand point as well as from an economic one.
For instance, in our desire to give the black community a boost and rectify past wrongs we instituted affirmative action programs which, in fact, called for reverse discrimination and resulted in undeserving rewards which the recipient(s) could not sustain competitively. The consequence was the raising of false hopes and disastrous disappointments, ruining of character building while elevating feelings of entitlement.
Sen. Moynihan warned his party and the nation about this but to no avail and now we are living with the consequences of his prophetic and prescient thinking.
We also began an entire process of re-describing classes of people and situations etc. that resulted in turning people off and making the beneficiaries specialized thereby, causing disdain due to the illogical new demands etc.. Instead of helping and bringing about inclusiveness, PC'ism has caused rejection, separation and contempt.
From an economic standpoint. far too often. the cost of the imposed solutions bear no relationship to the benefit. Most everything government bureaucrats conjure up is either heavy handled, outright dumb or inappropriate. Their intentions may even be honorable and/or worthy but their results prove anathema in terms of matching the desired results.
How many times have we heard "I am from the government and I am here to help you" or "hell is paved with good intentions." Rube Goldberg anticipated PC'ism with his complex and insane drawings.
As a result of the pernicious spread of PC'ism, we now have an entire generation protesting protection from free speech, demanding safe havens on campuses to assuage the wounded sensitivities of an entire generation of intolerant whusses. Intolerance and name calling has become the weapon of choice among those who profess their "intolerance" is actually tolerant behaviour based on making amends of the past. Fighting fire with fire, or even worse, incitement and other incendiary methods is justified because the perpetrators allegedly mean well. I submit "Black lives matter" is a sinister, radical slogan that is divisive and heightens intolerance.
A backlash against PC'ism is beginning to surface but the damage is done and the toothpaste will never be totally returned to the tube. Our society will forever be impacted by the residual inanity of PC'ism's garbage. It has done more to separate us, to ruin our otherwise striving for a cohesive society than anything I can think of since the days of the prominence of The KKK and other fashionable fascist trends.

Military technology continues advancing: "Drone Defense Works
A 10-day experiment at Fort Sill, Okla., using a 5-kW laser mounted atop a Stryker combat vehicle to destroy unmanned aerial vehicles succeeded in silently destroying 50 drones, but Army officials already knew a laser could work. The real advances were in the ability to search the sky for targets, increasing the distance at which a target can be destroyed and working on “soft” kills that leave the drone intact enough after a crash landing to provide useful intelligence.
What to watch: More powerful lasers with longer range, electronic warfare capabilities to enable “soft” kills and more sophisticated tracking and targeting methods are all coming soon."
