Just returned from Pittsburgh to find The Landings a mess from the hurricane. Several homes destroyed by tornado that touched down along with one of our golf courses as well as one of our clubs. So far our house is ok just a lot of debris from the pine trees.
Some of this memo was written before I left and now I will finish.
Either my next memo or the one after will report on my trip to Pittsburgh.

Iran talks tough and we act meekly and send ransom money. If that is our new strategy a confrontation is inevitable and we will probably be humiliated because Obama is a feckless fool but then maybe he is a purposeful putz. You decide. (See 1 below.)

In a recent partial review of Kim Strassel's; "The Intimidation Game," I commented many dangerous pieces of legislation are given benign sounding names. Yet their intent is nefarious and must be shown for what they are - attempts to intimidate and suspend free speech etc..
This is a perfect example of how Obama is legislating the transfer of billions to liberal groups espousing messages in line with his/their philosophy. Obama accomplishes this ruse through intimidation and Kim discusses this in her chapters pertaining to The Chamber of Commerce and the pressure liberals apply to end corporate freedom of speech. (See 2 below.)
Kim discusses the retailer Target's situation where the company and its executives were intimidated and threatened, Target caved. The intimidation came after physical threats, violence and constant pressure to release names of donors etc.
I am always sensitive to likening something to Nazi tactics, and/or Hitlerite type activities but in the case of attempts to intimidate conservatives, many effective, the accusations are, in fact, Gestapo like.
Liberal intimidation, like constant waves, continues to wash away and erode the sand and beach heads of free speech. However, they are done in such subtle and disguised ways the public remains unaware and thus, disinterested.
Taking away our cherished right of free speech, right of protest and assembly, possession of guns is the last ditch effort of liberals to allow government to totally control American lives, to end the uniqueness of what it means to be an American. If you think Obama is not purposely engaged in such activities and does not use the full weight and power of the government accordingly , as I have said before, you are naive.
If you do not think this is the goal of Soro's and those of his ilk and like mind and why they spend tens of millions of their dollars in pursuit of this goal, you are naive. Furthermore, when you have lost what you are unwilling to defend you will have no one to blame but yourself because, by then, you won't even be allowed to complain. Only The Black Lives Matter crowd and other anarchists will remain free to spew their hateful messages.
My liberal friends tell me I am wrong. I am overstating the case and I am the one who is naive. One in particular constantly sends me articles from The New York Times. I believe he does so to twit more than inform me I was born in '33, and heard the same arguments made against those who warned about Germany and called attention to the nutty man with the funny mustache. They scoffed at Churchill and believed Chamberlain and then awoke to Panzer divisions and what followed. Shortly thereafter came Pearl Harbor follwed by the scourge of Communism because Roosevelt was both physically ill and naively taken in by Stalin.
Once again, because the warnings and over reach came from the likes of McCarthy, the threat was downplayed but nevertheless was real. It took Reagan to "bring down that wall." Now we have another man, called Trump, who is being castigated and pilloried for his "outrageous" comments and "boorish" style who "wants to build a wall." Granted, his persona undercuts his message. That said, much of what he espouses bears hearkening because he has the guts to touch the third rail and is not from Establishment ranks.
Hillary is a crook and a liar. Obama's policies have failed. Yes, when you are weak you do invite trouble. Yes, when you have created huge debt, run down your military and are unwilling to stand against tyranny you are inviting terrible consequences. Yes, when a president circumvents the Constitution and ignores the checks and balances our forefathers created to protect us from an overbearing and dangerous government, matters get out of control. But then, that is the goal, Chaos creates opportunities for gaining complete power. Government over the people!
When you engage in wedge issues which divide and attack police you are employing tactics that lead to chaos. When one party imposes its will upon the other through intimidation and supports and encourages the activities of corrupt bureaucrats this is dangerous and must be revealed and stopped. However, when the press and media have become corrupted and so biased they will not reveal these efforts the public has lost an effective voice. Appeals through the technology of social media may not be effective enough to overcome the loss and effective power and impactof a free Fourth Estate.
This is what the 2016 election, I believe, is all about and I submit our Republic can be likened to a rudderless ship taking on water and heading towards threatening shoals.
This is much of what my memos and LTE's are about and attempt to convey. My message has consistently called upon our nation, Americans from all walks of life to wake up, be objective and let what is happening to our blessed country sink in and then respond.

| Tehran deployed a Russian-made long-range missile system to increase the defense of the Fordo nuclear facility, Iranian state television said Sunday, according to an AFP report. The commander of Iran's air defense, General Farzad Esmaili said that protecting the nuclear facility is paramount "in all circumstances." The General added that:"Today, Iran's sky is one of the most secure in the region." Images and a video showed an S-300 carrier in Fordo, the missiles raised toward the sky, seen next to other counter-attack weaponry. The images were seen only hours after the Islamic Republic's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei spoke to air-force commanders, including Esmaili, where he stressed that the Iranian military was for defense only. "Continued opposition and hype on the S-300 or the Fordo site are examples of the viciousness of the enemy," Khamenei said. The religious leader of Iran further added that: "The S-300 system is a defense system not an assault one, but the Americans did their best for Iran not to get hold of it." The Fordo nuclear site, near the city of Qom, has ceased the enrichment of uranium since the nuclear deal was implemented in January. The accord has seen Iran dismantle most of the 19,000 centrifuges that enrich uranium, leaving 5,000 for the purpose of research. Negotiations for the agreement lasted over two years between Iran, Britain, the US, France, China, Germany and Russia. The agreement reduced the sanctions on Iran in return for Iran to restrain its controversial nuclear program. Last Tuesday, four Iranian military vessels intercepted a US warship and were accused of harassing the warship. Iranian Defense Minister said Thursday "If an American ship enters Iran's maritime region, it will definitely get a warning. Look Who’s Getting That Bank Settlement Cash
Tens of millions of dollars disguised as ‘consumer relief’ are going to liberal political groups.

Imagine if the president of the United States forced America’s biggest banks to funnel hundreds of millions—and potentially billions—of dollars to the corporations and lobbyists who supported his agenda, all while calling it “Main Street Relief.” The public outcry would rightly be deafening. Yet the Obama administration has used a similar strategy to enrich its political allies, advance leftist pet projects, and protect its legacy—and hardly anyone has noticed.
The administration’s multiyear campaign against the banking industry has quietly steered money to organizations and politicians who are working to ensure liberal policy and political victories at every level of government. The conduit for this funding is the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Working Group, a coalition of federal and state regulators and prosecutors created in 2012 to “identify, investigate, and prosecute instances of wrongdoing” in the residential mortgage-backed securities market. In conjunction with the Justice Department, the RMBS Working Group has reached multibillion-dollar settlements with essentially every major bank in America.
The most recent came in April when the Justice Department announced a $5.1 billion settlement with Goldman Sachs. In February Morgan Stanley agreed to a $3.2 billion settlement. Previous targets were Citigroup ($7 billion), J.P. Morgan Chase ($13 billion), and Bank of America, which in 2014 reached the largest civil settlement in American history at $16.65 billion. Smaller deals with other banks have also been announced.
Combined, the banks must divert well over $11 billion into “consumer relief,” which is supposed to benefit homeowners harmed during the Great Recession. Yet it is unknown how much, if any, of the banks’ settlement money will find its way to individual homeowners. Instead, a substantial portion is allocated to private, nonprofit organizations drawn from a federally approved list. Some groups on the list—Catholic Charities, for instance—are relatively nonpolitical. Others—La Raza, the National Urban League, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition and more—are anything but.
This is a handout to the administration’s allies. Many of these groups engage in voter registration, community organizing and lobbying on liberal policy priorities at every level of government. They also provide grants to other liberal groups not eligible for payouts under the settlements. Thanks to the Obama administration, and the fungibility of money, the settlements’ beneficiaries can now devote hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to these activities.
The settlements also give banks a financial incentive to fund these groups. Most of the deals give double credit or more against the settlement amount for every dollar in “donations.” Bank of America’s donation list—the only bank to disclose exactly where it sends its money—shows how this benefits liberal groups. The bank has so far given at least $1.15 million to the National Urban League, which counts as if it were $2.6 million against the bank’s settlement. Similarly, $1.5 million to La Raza takes $3.5 million off the total amount of “consumer relief” owed by the bank. There are scores of other examples.
Our analysis of over 80 beneficiaries from Bank of America’s settlement shows that they received, on average, more than 10% of their 2015 budgets from the bank. When other bank checks are added, the amount funneled to these organizations is guaranteed to rise. And the banks have multiple years to pay their total penalties, meaning some liberal interest groups can count on additional funding for years—and election cycles—to come.
As part of their “consumer relief” penalties, Bank of America and J.P. Morgan Chase must also pay a minimum $75 million to Community Development Financial Institutions—taxpayer-funded groups propped up by the Obama administration as an alternative to payday lenders. “Housing Counseling Agencies” also get at least $30 million. This essentially circumvents Congress’s recent decision to cut $43 million in federal funds routed to these groups through the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The politicians who negotiate the settlements as part of the RMBS Working Group have also directed money to their supporters and states. Illinois’s Democratic attorney generalLisa Madigan announced she had secured $22.5 million from February’s Morgan Stanley deal for her state’s debt-ridden pension funds—a blatant payout to public unions. The deals with J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America and Citigroup yielded a further $344 million for both “consumer relief” and direct payments to pension funds.
New York hit the jackpot too. Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, also a Democrat and chairman of the RMBS Working Group, arranged for Morgan Stanley to fork over $400 million to New York nonprofits and $150 million to the state.
Despite the best efforts of a few principled legislators late last year, Congress missed an opportunity to amend the Justice Department’s funding bill to stop further handouts. Lawmakers now have another opportunity as Congress enters budget negotiation for fiscal year 2017. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R., Va.) introduced a bill in April that would prevent government officials from enforcing settlements that funnel money to third parties, and it needs to gain wider traction with his colleagues. The political shakedowns disguised as public service must end.

Garry Schwartz, better known to the world as George Soros, was born August 12, 1930 in Hungary. Soros' father, Tivadar, was a fervent practitioner of the Esperanto language invented in 1887, and designed to be the first global language, free of any national identity. The Schwartz's, who were non-practicing Jews, changed the family name to Soros, in order to facilitate assimilation into the Gentile population, as the Nazis spread into Hungary during the 1930s.
When Hitler's henchman, Adolf Eichmann arrived in Hungary, to oversee the murder of that country's Jews, George Soros ended up with a man whose job was confiscating property from the Jewish population. Soros went with him on his rounds .
Soros has repeatedly called 1944 "the best year of his life." 70% of Mr. Soros's fellow Jews in Hungary, nearly a half-million human beings, were annihilated in that year , yet he gives no sign that this put any damper on his elation, either at the time or indeed in retrospect". During an interview with "Sixty Minute's" Steve Kroft, Soros was asked about his "best year."
KROFT: My understanding is that you went out with this protector of yours who swore that you were his adopted godson.
SOROS: Yes. Yes.
KROFT: Went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from your fellow Jews, friends and neighbors.
SOROS: Yes. That's right. Yes.
KROFT: I mean, that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many, years. Was it difficult?
SOROS: No, not at all. Not at all, I rather enjoyed it.
KROFT: No feelings of guilt?
SOROS: No, only feelings of absolute power.
In his article, Muravchik describes how Soros has admitted to having carried some rather "potent messianic fantasies with me from childhood, which I felt I had to control, otherwise they might get me in trouble." Be that as it may. After WWII, Soros attended the London School of Economics, where he fell under the thrall of fellow atheist and Hungarian, Karl Popper, one of his professors. Popper was a mentor to Soros until Popper's death in 1994. Two of Popper's most influential teachings concerned "the open society," and Fallibilism.
Fallibilism is the philosophical doctrine that all claims of knowledge could, in principle, be mistaken. (Then again, I could be wrong about that.) The "open society" basically refers to a "test and evaluate" approach to social engineering. Regarding "open society" Roy Childs writes, "Since the Second World War, most of the Western democracies have followed Popper's advice about piecemeal social engineering and democratic social reform, and it has gotten them into a grand mess."
In 1956 Soros moved to New York City, where he worked on Wall Street, and started amassing his fortune. He specialized in hedge funds and currency speculation. Soros is absolutely ruthless, amoral, and clever in his business dealings, and quickly made his fortune. By the 1980s he was well on his way to becoming the global powerhouse that he is today.
In an article Kyle-Anne Shiver wrote for "The American Thinker" she says, "Soros made his first billion in 1992 by shorting the British pound with leveraged billions in financial bets, and became known as the man who broke the Bank of England. He broke it on the backs of hard-working British citizens who immediately saw their homes severely devalued and their life savings cut drastically, almost overnight."
In 1994 Soros crowed in "The New Republic," that "the former Soviet Empire is now called the Soros Empire." The Russia-gate scandal in 1999, which almost collapsed the Russian economy, was labeled by Rep. Jim Leach, then head of the House Banking Committee, to be "one of the greatest social robberies in human history. "The "Soros Empire" indeed.
In 1997 Soros almost destroyed the economies of Thailand and Malaysia. At the time, Malaysia's Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohammad, called Soros "a villain, and a moron." Thai activist Weng Tojirakarn said, "We regard George Soros as a kind of Dracula. He sucks the blood from the people."
The website Greek National Pride reports, "Soros was part of the full court press that dismantled Yugoslavia and caused trouble in Georgia, Ukraine and Myanmar [Burma]. Calling himself a philanthropist, Soros' role is to tighten the ideological stranglehold of globalization and the New World Order while promoting his own financial gain. He is without conscience; a capitalist who functions with absolute amorality."
France has upheld an earlier conviction against Soros, for felony insider trading. Soros was fined 2.9 million dollars. Recently, his native Hungary fined Soros 2.2 million dollars for "illegal market manipulation." Elizabeth Crum writes that the Hungarian economy has been in a state of transition as the country seeks to become more financially stable and westernized. Soros deliberately driving down the share price of its largest bank put Hungary's economy into a wicked tailspin, one from which it is still trying to recover.
My point here is that Soros is a planetary parasite. His grasp, greed, and gluttony have a global reach. But what about America? Soros told Australia's national newspaper "The Australian." "America, as the center of the globalized financial markets, was sucking up the savings of the world. This is now over. "The game is out," he said, adding that the time has come for "a very serious adjustment" in American's consumption habits. He implied that he was the one with the power to bring this about."
Soros: "World financial crisis was "stimulating" and "in a way, the culmination of my life's work."
Obama has recently promised 10 billion of our tax dollars to Brazil, in order to give them a leg-up in expanding their offshore oil fields. Obama's largesse towards Brazil came shortly after his political financial backer, George Soros, invested heavily in Brazilian oil (Petrobras).
Tait Trussel writes, "The Petrobras loan may be a windfall for Soros and Brazil, but it is a bad deal for the U.S. The American Petroleum Institute estimates that oil exploration in the U S could create 160,000 new, well-paying jobs, as well as $1.7 trillion in revenues to federal, state, and local governments, all while fostering greater energy security and independence."

Back to America. Soros has been actively working to destroy America from the inside out for some years now. People have been warning us. Two years ago, news sources reported that "Soros [is] an extremist who wants open borders, a one-world foreign policy, legalized drugs, euthanasia, and on and on. This is off-the-chart dangerous. In 1997 Rachel Ehrenfeld wrote, "Soros uses his philanthropy to change or more accurately deconstruct the moral values and attitudes of the Western world, and particularly of the American people". His "open society" is not about freedom; it is about license. His vision rejects the notion of ordered liberty, in favor of a PROGRESSIVE ideology of rights and entitlements.
Perhaps the most important of these "whistle blowers" are David Horowitz and Richard Poe. Their book, "The Shadow Party", outlines in detail how Soros hijacked the Democratic Party, and now owns it lock, stock, and barrel. Soros has been packing the Democratic Party with radicals, and ousting moderate Democrats for years. The Shadow Party became the Shadow Government, which recently became the Obama Administration.
Discover The Networks.org (another good source) writes, "By his [Soros'] own admission, he helped engineer coups in Slovakia, Croatia, Georgia, and Yugoslavia. When Soros targets a country for "regime change," he begins by creating a shadow government, a fully formed government-in-exile, ready to assume power when the opportunity arises. The Shadow Party he has built in America greatly resembles those he has created in other countries prior to instigating a coup."
November 2008 edition of the German magazine, "Der Spiegel," in which Soros gives his opinion on what the next POTUS (President of the U. S.) should do after taking office. "I think we need a large stimulus package." Soros thought that around 600 billion would be about right. Soros also said that "I think Obama presents us a great opportunity to finally deal with global warming and energy dependence. The U.S. needs a cap and trade system with auctioning of licenses for emissions rights."
Although Soros doesn't (yet) own the Republican Party, like he does the Democrats, make no mistake, his tentacles are spread throughout the Republican Party as well.
Soros is a partner in the Carlyle Group where he has invested more than 100 million dollars. According to an article by "The Baltimore Chronicle's" Alice Cherbonnier, the Carlyle Group is run by "a veritable who's who of former Republican leaders," from CIA man, Frank Carlucci, to CIA head and ex-President George Bush, Sr.
In late 2006, Soros bought about 2 million shares of Halliburton, Dick Cheney's old stomping grounds. When the Democrats and Republicans held their conventions in 2000, Soros held Shadow Party conventions in the same cities, at the same time.

And I mustn't forget to mention Soros' involvement with the MSM (Main Stream Media), the entertainment industry (e.g. he owns 2.6 million shares of Time Warner), and the various political advertising organizations he funnels millions to. In short, George Soros controls or influences most of the MSM. Little wonder they ignore the TEA PARTY, Soros' NEMESIS.

His giving has provided funding of abortion rights, atheism, drug legalization, sex education, euthanasia, feminism, gun control, globalization, mass immigration, gay marriage and other radical experiments in social engineering."

Without Soros' money, would the Saul Alinsky's Chicago machine still be rolling? Would SEIU, ACORN, and La Raza still be pursuing their nefarious activities? Would big money and lobbyists still be corrupting government? Would our college campuses still be retirement homes for 1960s radicals?
America stands at the brink of an abyss, and that fact is directly attributable to Soros. Soros has vigorously, cleverly, and insidiously planned the ruination of America and his puppet, Barack Obama is leading the way.

In her excellent profile of Soros in The New Yorker, on January 23, 1995, Connie Bruck relates how Strobe Talbott, Bill Clinton’s friend, who served as Ambassador-at-Large and Special Adviser on the New Independent States to Secretary of State Warren Christopher, saw Soros. According to Talbott, Soros was “a national resource – indeed, a national treasure.” He described the billionaire as a sort of shadow arm of the State Department. “I would say that it [Soros’ foreign policy] is not identical to the foreign policy of the U.S. government, but it’s compatible with it, “he told The New Yorker. “It’s like working with a friendly, allied, independent entity, if not a government. We try to synchronize our approach to the former Communist countries with Germany, France, Great Britain, and with George Soros.”
When Soros opened his own D.C. office to be close to the action, one of his minions explained that it would serve as “his State Department.” Soros conceded, “Of course what I do could be called meddling because I want to promote an open society.” According to Soros, such an” Open society transcends national sovereignty.” He also proposed “modification of the concept of sovereignty” because “sovereignty is basically somewhat anachronistic.”
Soros wrote memos on every foreign policy and monetary issue imaginable, and these memos were read widely at the very highest echelons of the Clinton White House. Soros has also used the services of the Washington lobbying firm Raffaelli, Spees, Springer & Smith, where he was represented by Clinton hack Terry McAuliffe, who in 2005 became the Democratic National Committee Chairman, and in 2008 chaired Hillary’s presidential campaign (McAuliffe has been Governor of Virginia since 2014). Between his payments to McAuliffe and the hundreds of thousands of dollars he gave to various official Democratic PACs, Soros was clearly able to purchase himself quite a bit of clout in the Democratic Party, and gain the adoration/co-dependency of its members that continues to this day. Soros needs the Democrats in office to be taken seriously as a State Department unto himself, and Democrats still need Soros’ dollars to win elections.
Soros made no secret of his obsession with power. “I like to influence policy,” Soros told television talk show host Charlie Rose in 1995. “I was not able to get to George Bush. But now I think I have succeeded with my influence…I do now have great access in [the Clinton] administration. There is no question about this. We actually work together as a team.” And in 1997 Soros went on to brag to Time magazine: “my influence has continued to grow, and I do have access to most people I want to have access to.”
He was one of the few people Hillary would see when the Lewinsky scandal broke and during the impeachment proceedings against her philandering husband (Dec.1998- Feb 1999), ostensibly to discuss unfolding events in Ukraine. A background footage during his interview with Steve Kroft on 60 minutes, on December 20, 1998, showed Soros and Hillary Clinton introducing Soros to everyone who came within five feet of their walk through a Haitian village.
At that time, and as Bill Clinton’s term as president was winding down, Newsweek speculated that Hillary would probably seek employment in the international non-profit sector. Political insider Howard Fineman wrote that “Friends daydream about [Hillary] becoming head of UNICEF or even UN secretary-general. More likely, some sort of global foundation, aided by friends such as financier George Soros or World Bank president James Wolfenson.” Fineman clearly sensed Hillary’s political ambitions and greed. And while Hillary chose to run for office, first for the Senate and then for president, she and her husband established the Clinton Foundation. Accepting Obama’s offer to serve as his State Secretary, increased her ability to influence and to raise the profile and revenue of the family Foundation, as well as their bank accounts.
Hillary’s decision to run for office has been a cause Soros was glad to underwrite. He gave large sums of money to Friends of Hillary and tens of thousands of dollars to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. He invested heavily in Hillary’s political future knowing that the Democratic National Committee considered Hillary its shining star and possible 2008 presidential nominee.
But the gambler he is, in early 2007 he dropped Hillary for the young, inexperienced progressive Senator from Illinois. Asked about switching from battle-hardened Hillary to inexperienced Obama, Soros declared: “this emphasis on experience is way overdone.” Why? Because “Obama has the charisma and the vision to radically reorient America in the world,” Soros told Judy Woodruff in May 2008.” But once in office, Obama refused for a very long time to even meet with Soros.
Obama’s cold shoulder did not stop Soros’s efforts to remake America to his liking. He has written that he always “felt that modern society in general and America, in particular, suffer from a deficiency of values.” Only fundamental changes in Americans way of life will satisfy Soros, and he has been spending millions to make those changes a reality.
“I am sort of a deus ex machina,” Soros told the New York Times in 1994. “I am something unnatural. I’m very comfortable with my public persona because it is one I have created for myself. It represents what I like to be as distinct from what I really am. You know, in my personal capacity I’m not actually a selfless philanthropic person. I’m very much self-centered.”
Soros also professed to be an “amoral” financial speculator. Instead of questioning his motivations, such statements earned him the image of a maverick. That image, enhanced by billions of dollars [$24.9 billion as of August 27, 2016, according to Forbes], and his generous hand-outs, did wonders to blind the political, media, academic and social elites and afforded him the respectability and credibility he needed to advance his sociopolitical agenda to destroy the U.S. from within and without and remodel it to whatever he deems as “open society.”
Soros, unlike Hillary, admits he plays only by his rules. And while the Clintons – despite decades of double-dealings and lying – remain clumsy covering up their tracks, Soros boasts “I do not accept the rules imposed by others.” Indeed, as leaked memos from his OSF show, Soros tried to influence the Supreme Court’s decision on illegal immigration, in efforts to preempt any attempt to curb the flood illegal immigrants and Muslim refugees to the U.S.
Now, the 86 years old Soros seems anxious to ensure his legacy as the man who changed America. For that, he needs Hillary Clinton as the next U.S. president. He hopes President Hillary would maintain the advances he already made with drug legalization – turning millions of Americans and States economies into drug-dependents, sponsoring illegal immigration and advancing Islamic political interests – and would further the U.S. demise as Super-Power. He seems to think that she would be more loyal to him and his causes than he was to her before and since his gamble on Obama did not fully pay off.
Soros, whose motto is: “If I spend enough, I will make it right,” has been spending lavishly to do away with the U.S. constitutional republic and its capitalistic system (what’s left of it). Both he and Hillary seem to stop at nothing to corrupt and influence the outcome of the 2016 elections.
