No equity for murdered blacks but plenty of equality. They are mostly wantonly shot by their own and for no earthly reason other than the perps are blood thirsty animals.

Where’s the Equity for Black Murder Victims? By Rich Lowry

Posted By Ruth King

That their disproportionate numbers don’t exercise progressives more remains one of the paradoxes of our time.

The idea of equity, as everyone knows, is all the rage.

It holds that any racial disparity is evidence of racism and also a stinging indictment of American society.

What, then, of the yawning disparity between black victims of homicide and everyone else? Why isn’t this at the top of the nation’s agenda, treated with the same urgency as the alleged crisis of racist policing?

It’s been the focus of studies — usually from gun-control outfits, several of which I cite in this piece — and local activists and journalists. But it hasn’t achieved anything like the liftoff of Black Lives Matters, or the opposition to voting reforms in Republican states, or the pervasive effort to snuff out microaggressions and the like from universities, corporate America, and every other corner of American society.

No, it just doesn’t rate.

And we are talking about a disparity that couldn’t be any more stark — black men are killed, usually gunned down, in cold blood at vastly higher rates than any other group in society (albeit overwhelmingly at the hands of other black men). If you are a progressive who believes that any racial disparity is a function of institutional racism, this is a devastating commentary on racial discrimination in America, but it is met with a relative shrug and certainly none of the passion of, say, the resistance to the Georgia voting law.

Of course, it’s worse than that. Progressives have made this disparity worse. It is their narratives, their policies, and their elected officials who have enabled the current surge in murder, making a long-standing phenomenon even more pronounced.

Do they feel guilty about it, abashed in any way? There’s no sign of it, and indeed while gun homicides have increased since 2014, they’ve kept hammering on the police.

The basic picture is that blacks are about 13 percent of the population and half of all homicide victims.

The most reliable figures come from before the current surge in murders. A report from a couple of gun-control groups broke down numbers from the Centers for Disease Control.

In 2019, black males accounted for half of the gun homicides in the United States, or 7,590 of the 14,414 total, with black females accounting for almost another 1,000.

Compared with the 7,590 black males killed in 2019, 2,261 of the murder victims were white males, and 1,955 were Hispanic males. In short, blacks were 63 percent of male gun-murder victims.

The number, as you might expect, is even starker for young black males, ages 15 to 34. They were 37 percent of gun-murder victims even though they are only 2 percent of the population; the rate at which they are shot and killed is 20 times higher than for white males of the same age.

This chart shows the basic picture — the rate of black gun homicide victims plummeted with the historic drop of crime between 1970 and 2000, then began rising again with the rise of murders beginning in 2014. The trend is surely even more notable now.

The state of Missouri already had the highest rate of black victimization in 2014, but after the unrest attendant to the killing of Michael Brown, it went even higher, increasing 36 percent between 2014 and 2018, according to study from the Violence Policy Center.

The cultural arbiters could choose at any time to make this a major cause, to lead the media with it, to celebrate the cops who are trying to prevent the violence and arrest the perpetrators, and to make it an urgent priority to stop, disarm, and arrest the young black men who are threatening to shoot other young black men.

Of course, they’ve gone in the exact opposite direction, choosing instead to make villains of the cops and of policies such as stop-and-frisk.

The guru of so-called anti-racism, Ibram X. Kendi, wants an anti-racist amendment to the Constitution. It would be guided by the idea that “racial inequity is evidence of racist policy.” The amendment would create a Department of Anti-Racism that would be “responsible for preclearing all local, state, and federal public policies to ensure that they won’t yield racial inequity.”

If we assume that this amendment would ever come to fruition (which would mean the end of the American constitutional republic, but let’s put that detail aside), and that the resulting anti-racist star chamber would take its anti-disparity mission seriously across the board, progressive mayors and prosecutors would have their fashionable soft-on-crime priorities immediately reversed as racist and harmful to the lives and safety of black men.

That’s not going to happen, naturally. And it will remain a paradox of our time that, when the slogan “black lives matter” has become so ascendant and the notion of equity so all-consuming, the disproportionate murder of black men doesn’t exercise progressives nearly the way trans rights or H.R. 1 does.

Hopefully the buck stops with CRT and the pushback begins. Neanderthals and deplorables allowed the radicals to take over.  Radicals have been planning their moves for decades and they are now achieving their goals. What is happening to/in America is not happenstance. It has been  carefully planned and orchestrated.

President healer and his Justice Department are not above playing partisan politics:

Biden Justice Plays Election Politics

Its lawsuit against Georgia is weak on evidence and the law.

By  The Editorial Board

President Biden has called Georgia’s new voting law a revival of Jim Crow. So it was probably inevitable that the Justice Department would file suit, as it did Friday, alleging that the state Legislature “intended to deny or abridge the right of Black Georgians to vote.”

The federal complaint is as transparently political as its argument is unconvincing. When Covid hit in the run-up to Georgia’s 2020 primary, state officials decided to send every active voter an unsolicited application for a mail ballot. The new law bans this practice. As proof of animus, the feds point to an interview by House Speaker David Ralston, who said that mass mail voting could “drive up turnout” and be “extremely devastating to Republicans.”

The lawsuit doesn’t mention that in the same interview Mr. Ralston cited “a multitude of reasons why vote by mail, in my view, is not acceptable.” One, security: “You send a ballot application into a home on a mass scale, as has been proposed to do, and you don’t know who’s going to vote the ballot.” Two, privacy, in case election officials mass-mailed ballots with “personal data” already filled out. In any case, last year’s emergency measures in a 100-year pandemic are not a reasonable baseline today.

The lawsuit’s argument on ballot drop boxes has the same problem. In 2019 they were illegal in Georgia. When the pandemic hit, the state temporarily approved them, and there were 38 in Fulton County, which contains most of Atlanta. If the Legislature had done nothing, the lapsing of the emergency authorization would have outlawed drop boxes again. Instead lawmakers made them permanent, albeit under tighter rules that let Fulton County set up only eight. Essentially, the feds are arguing that any retreat from Covid rules is racist.

Georgia’s new law no longer requires election workers to squint at voters’ signatures. Rather, someone applying for a mail ballot will supply a state-ID number or a copy of another identifying document, such as a utility bill. The feds say this is a burden on black voters.

But Senator Joe Manchin has proposed a similar nationwide rule, which was embraced by Georgia’s own Stacey Abrams. And what about the old system’s flaws? In Georgia’s 2018 election, black voters accounted for 54% of the ballots rejected for signature or oath issues.

The lawsuit objects to Georgia’s new deadline for requesting an absentee ballot. Previously, voters could apply for a mail ballot as late as Friday before the election. Now the deadline is 11 days before. The feds say black voters were more likely last year “to request absentee ballots between ten and four days before Election Day.”

But accepting absentee requests at 4:59 p.m. on the Friday before Election Day leaves little time for ballots to be handled, mailed and return mailed. The U.S. Postal Service has urged states to leave two weeks for two-way delivery. In 16 states, including Joe Biden’s Delaware, voters can’t even obtain a mail ballot without a valid excuse. All Georgians can vote absentee, and the new deadline is a neutral rule.

The Justice Department also does a lot of hand-waving about Georgia’s alleged political climate, citing everything from racist social-media comments posted by random members of the public, who might not even live in Georgia, to a speech in which former Sen. David Perdue “mocked the pronunciation of then-Senator Kamala Harris ’ first name.”

The lawuit even makes use of President Trump’s election conspiracy theories, saying that Georgia legislators “relied on these debunked allegations” when they passed their bill. This is the same Mr. Trump who continues to denounce Georgia election officials because they refused to indulge his unsupported claims that voter fraud cost him the election.

If nothing else, the suit proves that the Supreme Court was right in 2013 to throw out the Voting Rights Act’s old “preclearance” regime, which would have let the Justice Department unilaterally block Georgia’s election law, no matter the flimsy evidence.

The lawsuit asks to put Georgia back under preclearance, and Democrats in Congress want to pass H.R.4, the bill named for the late Rep. John Lewis, to resurrect preclearance rules nationwide. The Biden Administration’s distortions about Georgia, and its willingness to misuse the courts to serve the Democratic Party’s narrative, shows why this would be unwise and easily abused for partisan ends.

When I lived in Atlanta, I supported a bright young attorney who was running against Cynthia McKinney, an anti-Semitic Congressional nut case who was representing our district..  Because my candidate was talented and a Republican I was unable to get liberal Jews to support him.  Instead they predominantly voted for and re-elected Cynthia who subsequently left Atlanta ,moved to California where her lunatic ideas where better suited..

Apparently, she has learned nothing over the last 25 plus years and still beats her anti-Semitic drum and, no doubt, the same pathetic liberal Atlanta  Jews voted for Abrams, Warnock and Ossoff and will do so again, given the chance.

‘Zionists Did 9/11,’ Tweets Ex-Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney

By Benjamin Kerstein, The Algemeiner

Former US Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, who has long been noted for anti-Semitic and conspiratorial statements, tweeted on Monday that “Zionists” committed the September 11, 2001 terror attacks.

McKinney — who served in Congress from 1993-2003 and 2005-2007 as a Democratic Representative from Georgia — posted an image to Twitter on Monday showing the twin towers of the World Trade Center ablaze on 9/11, presented as a jigsaw puzzle.

Over the words “the final piece of the puzzle,” a hand inserts the last piece, forming the words “Zionists did it.”

It was not the first time McKinney has engaged in anti-Semitism.

In May 2020, she posted several Holocaust denying tweets. Linking to an article from the Israeli daily Haaretz that explored the issue of how the number of victims of the Holocaust was calculated, she commented, “So, the figure wasn’t six million after all?? What about those punished and even imprisoned for saying so?? Is this a ‘You can’t say, but I can’ kind of thing??”

After criticism from commenters, McKinney responded by saying, “Haaretz writes, ‘According to Yad Vashem’s estimates, once the double listings are removed, the database contains about 4.8 million names.’ I post. Message to me: ‘What turned you into an anti-Jewish bigot and Holocaust denier? You’re a piece of s**t.’”

The article in fact did not say the 4.8 million names were the final tally of victims, only that the names of the rest are likely to remain unknown.

McKinney also has a long history of anti-Israel activities, including participating in two attempts to breach the Israeli naval blockade of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has said that McKinney has accused Israel of genocide; referred to the pro-Israel lobby as a “ruthless” entity that “rears its ugly head in too many facets of life in this country, particularly political life” and engineered her political defeats; and personally met with representatives of Hezbollah and Hamas.

She also referred to US President Donald Trump as a “Zionist puppet.

And:
So it goes:

An Open Letter to Senator Chuck Schumer

As Senate Majority leader and representative of the people of New York in the US Senate, the Jewish Voice asks Senator Chuck Schumer to provide a detailed response to each of the following questions. We ask Sen. Schumer to speak candidly about his nuanced positions on Israel and the alarming rise in anti-Semitism in the halls of congress.

Question:

You are well known for claiming to serve as an advocate and “defender” of Jewish causes in the Senate, and yet, many in the media have argued that you were “missing in action” over the past month when anti-Semitic incidents reached unprecedented levels, particularly in NY. While you appeared quite frequently during the past two months promoting a new Democrat agenda, that absence on issues vital to the Jewish community was well-noted. Can you explain?

Question:

It is well known in political circles that AOC is considering a run for the Senate, with perhaps a challenge to your own seat. It is also well known that you seem to have capitulated to her many political pronouncements for fear of alienating her, which further serves that narrative. On several occasions, you have actually stood by her side during her own press appearances and seem to have nervously endorsed her policies. If that isn’t the case, then you fail to realize that that is indeed the perception of most political commentators.

Question:

A letter was recently published by 73 Democrats which targets Israel. The letter represents the obvious:  Democrats blaming Israel for the absence of peace in the Middle East, suggesting that settlements are the cause of the problem rather than an Arab intransigence that fails to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish State. Where were you on this, and why should we not take your silence as a sign of capitulation?

Question:

AIPAC was always viewed as being proponents of strong American support for Israel. The Zionist Organization of America even more so. And yet, the new Biden Administration is in lock-step with J Street in calling for pressures to be directed at Israel. Where is the Chuck Schumer voice against these unprecedented pressures?

Questions:

Biden’s new foreign policy team is really not new. It is a recycled Obama team. We know the names: Robert Malley, Wendy Sherman, Jake Sullivan, Susan Rice, Samantha Power, Antony Blinken, Hady Amar, and another half dozen. They are united in their support for reestablishing a new Iran Nuke Deal and rewarding the Palestinian Authority with monies, diplomatic offices and a 2-State solution. This is certainly a terrible step in the wrong direction, and you are not only silent, you are supportive. How do you spin this, Mr. Senator?

Question:

The most recent poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research shows tremendous support by Palestinian Arabs for Hamas, and away from the Palestinian Authority. In fact, 2/3 believe that the “armed struggle” against Israel should continue even after the establishment of a Palestinian State. Why are you silent on this terrible revelation?

Question:

The PA has stated quite bluntly that they will continue to fund terrorists and their families, in defiance of the Taylor Force Act of 2018. Why do we reward terror? Secretary of State Blinken is trying some cosmetic change, where the monies would be viewed as going only to those families with “social welfare” needs. Who are we fooling Mr. Senator?

Question

Why did you not fly out to Jerusalem to attend the opening of our Embassy in Israel to that city? Whey were there no elected Democrats at that event? Were you all ordered by President Obama to boycott it? Do you now regret not having attended this major move?

Question

When BLM supporters marched through the streets of New York City, chanting “What do we want, Pigs in blankets,” and What do we want, dead cops!”  you never condemned them. Why not?

Question

Do you consider the BLM movement to be Jew/Israel hating? Why or why not?

Question

When overt Israel hater, Keith Ellison ran to chair the Democratic National Committee, you were his major supporter. Did you not know that he was associated with Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam group and an official of the Council on Islamic American Relations (CAIR) when you backed his election to run the Democratic Party?

Question

When you originally voted against the Obama Iran Nuclear Deal, why did you not caucus Senate Democrats under your control to also reject it?

Question

Back in October of 2017 when President Trump threatened to revoke this nation’s participation in the Iran Nuclear Deal which under President Obama, you were against, you tweeted “The @SenateDems agree with #SecDef Mattis and General Dunford. We won’t allow the Iran deal to be undone,” supporting keeping the original Iran deal in place. If a vote were held right now to re-enter the treaty as originally approved by President Obama, would you vote “Yes” or “No?”

Question

Do you consider The Squad dangerous to Israel and American Jewry?

Question

Do you support the “1619 Project” to be taught in public schools?

My Summer Thoughts. What's With Biden?

Landing's Sunset Scenes

.

One of my favorite artists - Max Pollack

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
As noted in a previous memo, I believe we are in for a long hot summer.

See less going right than going wrong but, as the world economies re-link, believe market prospects still point to the upside though valuations remain rich.

Expect we will see some levelling off in inflation as people return to work and inventory rebuilds and a more normal matching of supply and demand occurs.

If American discomfort, with what has been going on builds, there could still be a significant amount of unrest and what happens with Biden is, at best, anyone's guess.  He obviously is unsuited to be president and has mental issues that will only worsen.

We had a shaved down infrastructure bill until Biden took a bait and switch approach.  Who knows what will be the outcome even when there is consensus among the two party's because  Democrats are held hostage by the radical element in their ranks.

Finally, as we get closer to the 2022 Mid Term, everything will be determined by politics and maneuvering on the part of Democrats to prevent a tidal wave that is building to sweep them out of office and return both The House and Senate to the Republican column.

Suburban soccer moms have had a year without Trump Tweets and commentary and they have had an opportunity to witness the consequences of their previous discontent.  I suspect they are not overly salubrious. What they buy for the family meals costs more, the gas in their cars costs more, their schools are being taken over by radicals who are busy teaching their children to hate the country where they live, their cities are witnessing increased crime as their first line of defense is being defunded and that is just a few things that have changed.

Two things could prevent Republicans from winning:
a) Trump could cause internal discord among Republican ranks and b) election fraud could raise it's ugly head and result in questionable voting incidents.

Stay tuned. Time Will tell.

And:

Have you ordered your F 15 and/or nuclear weapon of choice yet?

Joe Biden Threatens Americans in Angry Rant About Going Against the Government

(RightWing.org) – President Biden stunned the US on Wednesday when he let loose an astonishing rant about the power of the federal government and the inability of ordinary Americans to fight back against it.
Addressing a press conference on June 23, Biden somehow decided it was appropriate to deny the whole point of the Second Amendment by telling the country the government could infringe the right to bear arms – and always had.

Biden claimed that from “the day it was passed,” the Second Amendment set limits on the types of individuals allowed to own guns and “what type of weapon” they could own. He went on to ridicule Thomas Jefferson’s famous statement about the tree of liberty needing to be refreshed with the blood of patriots. Then he warned that if you want to confront the government, “you need F15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”

It’s hard to interpret this as anything except a warning that, if it comes to a fight, the government has more firepower – and predictably, the reaction was furious. Donald Trump Jr dismissed the president as a “doddering old fool,” while Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) mildly pointed out that threatening the American people with nuclear weapons was “not OK.” The Democratic Party was conspicuously silent on the subject.

Poll Shows Majority Of U.S. Support Voter Id Laws

(TheLibertyRevolution.com)- Did you hear about far-left Georgia “voting rights” activist Stacey Abrams flip-flopping on voter ID recently? She said that she could support a compromise on the “For the People Act” put forward by West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin even if it included voter ID as a requirement, wrongly claiming during a network TV interview that Democrats have never been opposed to voter ID.

Despite her literally saying it was “Jim Crow in a suit and tie.”

See?

Well, it looks as though the reason why Democrats are pulling back on this is not just because Senator Manchin won’t give them his vote, but also because opposing voter ID is deeply unpopular among the American voting public.

According to a Monmouth University Poll, most Americans believe that early voting should be made easier and that all voters should be required to show photographic ID to prove who they are when they cast a ballot.

What made the Democrats think for even a moment that voter ID was racist or that the American public would oppose it?

Less than one in five Americans oppose voter ID, which is a tiny fraction of the public and completely out of step with Democrats. A huge portion of Congressional Democrats have claimed in recent years that voter ID is racist and restricts voting access, with many throwing their weight behind the “For the People Act” which would do away with voter ID and make it easier for illegal aliens to vote.
Sadly, the poll also found that many Americans think that mail-in voting should be made easier – which would open the door to more election fraud and misconduct. In the last election, mass mail-in voting meant it was harder for election officials to keep track of legitimate votes and potentially allowed tens of thousands of votes to be counted without proper signature or identity verification.

89% of Democrats said that they want to make early voting easier, and even 56% of Republicans said that same. For mail-in voting, 84% of Democrats said that they want to make it easier and only 26% of Republicans said that same.

However, 69% of Americans also said that there should be national guidelines to manage mail-in voting, which could potentially help prevent fraud.

Is this the reason Democrats are backing off on their insane opposition to voter ID?

Ticked Off Frustrated, Disgusted Friend. IDF Continues Preparing For The Inevitable.

This from a friend and fellow memo reader who has reached the point where he is truly mad and disgusted with what is happening to our nation.

Alas, what takes a long time to create/build can unravel quickly when patriots turn into silent and intimidated wimps.

DECLARATION of THE AMERICAN FREEDOM MOVEMENT*

INDEPENDENCE DAY OR DEPENDENCE DAY??

AMERICA CONFRONTS COMMUNISM

The ONLY relevant question: Will July 4 still be a day to celebrate our

Declaration of Independence, or will it become a day of capitulation to a

Declaration of Dependence?

I- YOU ARE ALREADY IN TROUBLE. Your family, livelihood, assets, and children

are in the crosshairs of a well-coordinated group of shady politicians posing as a

legitimate government. Now is the time to react.

YOU CAN OUTSOURCE YOUR SECURITY, BUT YOU CANNOT OUTSOURCE

YOUR COURAGE!!!

II- THEY, the proponents of the "Fundamental Transformation of America"

resurfaced with the pandemic. They weaponized race and successfully exercised

the totalitarian control of Americans in broad daylight. This became crystal

clear as many governors and mayors began to use communist control tactics

for lockdowns, depriving citizens of their jobs, businesses, and constitutional

rights, especially free speech. Our country’s institutions have been hijacked!

III- YOU can no longer rely on Republican or Democrat legislators, nor on our legal

system. And this includes the Supreme Court which cannot deal with a myriad of

obstacles. So, you and 150+ million fellow Americans are at the forefront of this

fight to keep control of America as we know it and love it.

IV- THEY. The ruthless global communist movement (GCM) has always been

contained by the greatest country of self-government in human history. But now,

THEY have figured out that by aligning themselves with power-hungry American

politicians, media globalists, leftist academics, corporate oligarchs, and foreign

totalitarian regimes, they can WIN by trashing the Constitution. Community police

will be replaced by a national police state, and then we will all be helpless. No one

will be spared by communist ideology.

V- YOU and your family stand to lose your freedom of expression, religious

observance, and self-defense from government, your access to quality medical

services, your choice of jobs/professions, housing, educational opportunities,

independence, and the ability to elect your representatives through free and fair

elections. Your standard of living is in danger.

Your children will be indoctrinated in schools that will train them to HATE

others, and they will also be stripped of their freedoms, ambition, future

potential, and self-esteem. MOMS, YOU MATTER MORE NOW THAN EVER

BEFORE!

VI- THEY have stirred racial unrest and rioting, while labelling fellow American

citizens “racists”. This is all happening while massive flows of illegal immigrants

from many countries are crossing our borders unimpeded, in hope they get more

voters. They are also trying to pass a single national election system to replace

state voting laws while attempting to implement a wealth redistribution scheme

that rolls the “green new deal” into a mechanism to “justify’ exorbitant taxes that

will reduce families to the lowest common denominator of sustenance.

VII - YOU can turn the tables on their movement. Join forces with tens of millions

of fellow Americans who feel just as angry as you do, and who are asking “What can

I do?” You have the power to resist this attempt to take over and preserve

everything that is important to us and win back our country.

VIII- THEY are still vulnerable. “Cancel culture” could work both ways, and

corporate giants in media, big-tech, and entertainment/sports will not sustain

the onslaught of millions of committed AMERICANS like YOU.

CONCLUSION

*We, The American Freedom Movement* are invisible and anonymous. We

operate informally as individuals with a common purpose in many cities, towns, and

states across America sharing information, documents, videos, and podcasts via

secure social media outlets.

Anyone may initiate a campaign like:

 #IndependenceDayorDependenceDay??

 #MOMSMATTER

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO OPENLY CELEBRATE IN ANY WAY THAT

STIRS YOUR HEART ON JULY 4, 2021 FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT

INDEPENDENCE DAY SINCE 1776.

AND REMEMBER: YOU CAN OUTSOURCE YOUR SECURITY, BUT YOU

CANNOT OUTSOURCE YOUR COURAGE!

Can Vivek Ramaswamy Put Wokeism Out of Business?

Corporate America ‘makes money critiquing itself.’ The rest of us pay the price in diminished freedom.

By Tunku Varadarajan

A self-made multimillionaire who founded a biotech company at 28, Vivek Ramaswamy is every inch the precocious overachiever. He tells me he attended law school while he was in sixth grade. He’s joking, in his own earnest manner. His father, an aircraft engineer at General Electric, had decided to get a law degree at night school. Vivek sat in on the classes with him, so he could keep his dad company on the long car rides to campus and back—a very Indian filial act.

“I was probably the only person my age who’d heard of Antonin Scalia, ” Mr. Ramaswamy, 35, says in a Zoom call from his home in West Chester, Ohio. His father, a political liberal, would often rage on the way home from class about “some Scalia opinion.” Mr. Ramaswamy reckons that this was when he began to form his own political ideas. A libertarian in high school, he switched to being conservative at Harvard in “an act of rebellion” against the politics he found there. That conservatism drove him to step down in January as CEO at Roivant Sciences—the drug-development company that made him rich—and write “Woke, Inc,” a book that takes a scathing look at “corporate America’s social-justice scam.” (It will be published in August.)

Mr. Ramaswamy recently watched the movie “Spotlight,” which tells the story of how reporters at the Boston Globe exposed misconduct (specifically, sexual abuse) by Catholic priests in the early 2000s. “My goal in ‘Woke, Inc.’ is to do the same thing with respect to the Church of Wokeism.” He defines “wokeism” as a creed that has arisen in America in response to the “moral vacuum” created by the ebbing from public life of faith, patriotism and “the identity we derived from hard work.” He argues that notions like “diversity,” “equity,” “inclusion” and “sustainability” have come to take their place.

“Our collective moral insecurities,” Mr. Ramaswamy says, “have left us vulnerable” to the blandishments and propaganda of the new political and corporate elites, who are now locked in a cynical “arranged marriage, where each partner has contempt for the other.” Each side is getting out of the “trade” something it “could not have gotten alone.”

Wokeness entered its union with capitalism in the years following the 2008 financial panic and recession. Mr. Ramaswamy believes that conditions were perfect for the match. “We were—and are—in the midst of the biggest intergenerational wealth transfer in history,” he says. Barack Obama had just been elected the first black president. By the end of the crisis, Americans “were actually pretty jaded with respect to capitalism. Corporations were the bad guys. The old left wanted to take money from corporations and give it to poor people.”

The birth of wokeism was a godsend to corporations, Mr. Ramaswamy says. It helped defang the left. “Wokeism lent a lifeline to the people who were in charge of the big banks. They thought, ‘This stuff is easy!’ ” They applauded diversity and inclusion, appointed token female and minority directors, and “mused about the racially disparate impact of climate change.” So, in Mr. Ramaswamy’s narrative, “a bunch of big banks got together with a bunch of millennials, birthed woke capitalism, and then put Occupy Wall Street up for adoption.” Now, in Mr. Ramaswamy’s tart verdict, “big business makes money by critiquing itself.”

Mr. Ramaswamy regards Klaus Schwab, founder and CEO of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, as the “patron saint of wokeism” for his relentless propagation of “stakeholder capitalism”—the view that the unspoken bargain in the grant to corporations of limited liability is that they “must do social good on the side.”

Dvos is “the Woke Vatican,” Mr. Ramaswamy says; Al Gore and Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, are “its archbishops.” CEOs “further down the chain”—he mentions James Quincey of Coca-Cola, Ed Bastian of Delta, Marc Benioff of Salesforce, John Donahoe of Nike and Alan Jope of Unilever —are its “cardinals.”

Mr. Ramaswamy says that “unlike the investigative ‘Spotlight’ team at the Boston Globe, I’m a whistleblower, not a journalist. But the church analogy holds strong.” He paraphrases a line in the movie: “It takes a village to raise a child, then it takes a village to abuse one. In the case of my book, the child I’m concerned about is American democracy.”

In league with the woke left, corporate America “uses force” as a substitute for open deliberation and debate, Mr. Ramaswamy says. “There’s the sustainability accounting standards board of BlackRock, which effectively demands that in order to win an investment from BlackRock, the largest asset-manager in the world, you must abide by the standards of that board.

Was the board put in place by the owners of the trillions of dollars of capital that Mr. Fink manages? Of course not, Mr. Ramaswamy says. “And yet he’s actually using his seat of corporate power to sidestep debate about questions like environmentalism or diversity on boards.”

The irrepressible Mr. Ramaswamy presses on with another example. Goldman Sachs, he says with obvious relish, “is a very Davos-fitting example.” At the 2020 World Economic Forum, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon “issued an edict from the mountaintops of Davos.” Mr. Solomon announced his company would refuse to take a company public if its board wasn’t sufficiently diverse. “So Goldman gets to define what counts as ‘diverse,’ ” Mr. Ramaswamy says. “No doubt, they’re referring to skin-deep, genetically inherited attributes.”

He describes this sort of corporate imposition—“a market force supplanting open political debate to settle the essence of political questions”—as one of the “defining challenges” America faces today. “If democracy means anything,” he adds, “it means living in a one-person-one-vote system, not a one-dollar-one-vote system.” Voters’ voices “are unadjusted by the number of dollars we wield in the marketplace.” Open debate in the public square is “our uniquely American mechanism” of settling political questions. He likens the woke-corporate silencing of debate as akin to the “old-world European model, where a small group of elites gets in a room and decides what’s good for everyone else.”

The wokeism-capitalism embrace, Mr. Ramaswamy says, was replicated in Silicon Valley. Over the past few years, “Big Tech effectively agreed to censor—or ‘moderate’—content that the woke movement didn’t like. But they didn’t do it for free.” In return, the left “agreed to look the other way when it comes to leaving Silicon Valley’s monopoly power intact.” This arrangement is “working out masterfully” for both sides.

The rest of corporate America appears to be following suit. “There’s a Big Pharma version, too,” Mr. Ramaswamy says. “Big Pharma had an epiphany in dealing with the left.” It couldn’t beat them, so it joined them. “Rather than win the debate on drug pricing, they decided to just change the subject instead. Who needs to win a debate if you can just avoid having it?” So we see “big-time pharma CEOs musing about topics like racial justice and environmentalism, and writing multibillion-dollar checks to fight climate change, while taking price hikes that they’d previously paused when the public was angry about drug pricing.”

Coca-Cola follows the same playbook, he says: “It’s easier for them to issue statements about voting laws in Georgia, or to train their employees on how to ‘be less white,’ than it is to publicly reckon with its role in fueling a nationwide epidemic of diabetes and obesity—including in the black communities they profess to care about so much.” (In a statement, Coca-Cola apologized for the “be less white” admonition and said that while it was “accessible through our company training platform,” it “was not a part of our training curriculum.”)

Nike finds it much easier to write checks to Black Lives Matter and condemn America’s history of slavery, Mr. Ramaswamy says, even as it relies on “slave labor” today to sell “$250 sneakers to black kids in the inner city who can’t afford to buy books for school.” All the while, Black Lives Matter “neuters the police in a way that sacrifices even more black lives.” (Nike has said in a statement that its code of conduct prohibits any use of forced labor and “we have been engaging with multi-stakeholder working groups to assess collective solutions that will help preserve the integrity of our global supply chains.”)

Born in suburban Ohio in 1985, Mr. Ramaswamy grew up “a nerdy Indian kid with glasses, carrying books from class to class.” Peers in his public junior high school didn’t like his attitude—paying attention in class, getting his homework done, being polite to teachers—and “a much bigger kid” pushed him down a stairwell in an act of “anti-achiever” payback. He needed hip surgery after the attack, and his immigrant Hindu parents, fearing for his safety, switched him to a Catholic school.

There he was the sole Hindu, yet his uniqueness never felt like isolation. It pushed him to learn about another religion, even as it reinforced his faith in his own, and taught him, he says, how to fashion responses to difficult questions that he hadn’t encountered before—responses that needed to be constructive, not combative: “I was often pushed to change my mind.”

Mr. Ramaswamy despairs of changing the minds of the woke in America, and offers instead a couple of practical methods by which a battle against wokeism may begin.

First, he suggests a reform that should be “at the top of the conservative political agenda right now.” There needs to be “a new movement that adds political belief right there next to race, sex, national origin and religion” in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which governs employment discrimination. “If you can’t discriminate against somebody because they’re black, or gay, or Muslim, then you shouldn’t be able to discriminate against them because of the expression of their political perspective.”

Another legislative fix would be an amendment to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which immunizes website operators from lawsuits by giving them vast power to moderate third-party content while specifying that they are not to be treated as the “publisher or speaker” of such content. This is what permits sites like Twitter and Facebook to ban disfavored users like Donald Trump without fear of legal challenge.

Likening the benefit Twitter and Facebook derive from this state-mandated immunity to the federal funding that universities receive, he calls for strings to be attached to tech companies as part of the bargain. “If you benefit from Section 230, a federally provided form of pre-emptive immunity, that’s fine. But you’d then have to abide by the same standards as the federal government itself, including the U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment.”

He’d also like to extend the protection of the religion clause of Title VII to victims of wokeism. Title VII prohibits discrimination against an employee on the basis of religion. “Its flip side,” says Mr. Ramaswamy, “is that if you’re an employer, you can’t force your religion down the throats of your employees.”

In making this last point, Mr. Ramaswamy insists that wokeism is a religion, and needs to be seen as such. It is a view that is becoming increasingly plausible. Perhaps it will be tested in court.

Kamala's office remains in  disarray?

The following story is brought to you courtesy of American Thinker. Click the link to visit their page and see more stories.

Just as the border trip beckons, two more staffers flee Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris has been in politics for eighteen years yet still can’t quite figure out how to keep staff.

The departure of two top travel advance women, just as she’s heading for the border in a hastily announced trip to get there before President Trump does, suggests that things are getting very bad indeed.

According to a softly cushioned report in the New York Times:

Two top aides who oversee travel for Vice President Kamala Harris are departing, leaving the vice president with her critical support staff in flux as she seeks to ramp up travel ahead of big vaccine and voting rights pushes she is planning through July.

Karly Satkowiak, the director of advance, and Gabrielle DeFranceschi, the deputy director of advance, have both told the vice president’s office they plan to leave in the coming weeks, according to three sources familiar with their plans. A spokeswoman for Ms. Harris said the departures were long planned and that both women are currently engaged with finding their replacements.

The Times tries to convey that the whole thing was pre-planned and just a changing of the guard. It’s similar in style to former State Department biggie Roberta Jacobson’s hasty exit from her border coordinator job, shortly after Harris was named Biden’s border czar on March 24. Just a temporary job, they claimed, nothing special. Amazing how they recycle their spin and excuses from one quick staff exit to the next. Nothing to see here, move along.

The details of the Times report, though, suggest a very different story.

One, the staff depart at a very bad time, just ahead of a politically critical trip for Harris, as well as a slew of others, including Harris’s bid to persuade Americans to get vaccinated, and some new plan to rig elections through what the press calls a voter rights initiative.

Perhaps the two women are staying on to get those travel-advance jobs done, but you can bet they’ve got their eyes on the door and won’t be too upset if all the details don’t come together and the whole thing does not go well. They’re busy training their replacements, the Times reports. Great time to train the newbies, suffice to say.

Two, the Biden administration apparently can’t find anyone to take the fleeing staffers’ places. They’re calling for volunteers now and pleading with previous staff to step up because it appears they can’t get people. Worse still, they’re demanding that these people work for free, despite the fact that Harris, to put it delicately, is challenging as a boss. She is well known for flying off the handle at reporters and blaming others for her own shortcomings. That’s her history with pretty much everyone, and her staff turnover shows it. Just read stories like this.

Crazier still, Harris already has at least 100 paid vice presidential staff members with a $1.6-million budget. The Wikipedia entry, which is noted as in need of updating, doesn’t list these two “top” staffers who are exiting at all on the roster, nor does it list anyone in charge of travel. That means it may be more, or else she’s got another staff somewhere not listed. That’s a lot of people, and this Legistorm entry shows 185 past and present staffers. What do these people do, given that none of them has a job managing Harris’s high-visibility trips, and Harris can’t find anyone to do it?

Maybe Harris’s last trip, to Guatemala, was an indicator, given that it suggests she doesn’t travel well.

She started out with airplane trouble, which delayed her trip, which is never a good sign. Then she showed up with the president of Guatemala, looking haggard with dirty, greasy hair. The president of Guatemala complained about the Biden administration’s mixed messages, and Harris could only prove it to him with her wan “do not come, do not come” admonition to illegals after offering them a host of benefits if they do, and later meeting with DACA activists to discuss ways to reward their illegal entry. The culmination was her insane giggling at softball interviewer Lester Holt of NBC, who asked her when she was going to the border. It was a question she should have anticipated and had an answer for, but she didn’t.

All of that suggests that staff work was lacking, not necessarily because staff were bad, but because Harris is impossible to work with. The Times report from two gushing female reporters attempts to smooth over the obvious signs of trouble by taking Harris’s word for it on those exits.

But in light of previous reporting by other Times staffers, ones who don’t have “girls, girls” on the banner of their Twitter feed and girl-power statements galore in their tweets, there’s reason to think there’s a problem.

According to the New York Times, in a report dated Nov. 29, 2019, on the collapse of Harris’s presidential campaign:

“This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly,” Ms. Mehlenbacher wrote, assailing Mr. Rodriguez and Ms. Harris’s sister, Maya, the campaign chairwoman, for laying off aides with no notice. “With less than 90 days until Iowa we still do not have a real plan to win.”

The 2020 Democratic field has been defined by its turbulence, with some contenders rising, others dropping out and two more jumping in just this month. Yet there is only one candidate who rocketed to the top tier and then plummeted in early state polls to the low single digits: Ms. Harris.

Here’s a whiff of her management style from the report:

Yet, even to some Harris allies, her decline is more predictable than surprising. In one instance after another, Ms. Harris and her closest advisers made flawed decisions about which states to focus on, issues to emphasize and opponents to target, all the while refusing to make difficult personnel choices to impose order on an unwieldy campaign, according to more than 50 current and former campaign staff members and allies, most of whom spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose private conversations and assessments involving the candidate.

Many of her own advisers are now pointing a finger directly at Ms. Harris. In interviews several of them criticized her for going on the offensive against rivals, only to retreat, and for not firmly choosing a side in the party’s ideological feud between liberals and moderates. She also created an organization with a campaign chairwoman, Maya Harris, who goes unchallenged in part because she is Ms. Harris’s sister, and a manager, Mr. Rodriguez, who could not be replaced without likely triggering the resignations of the candidate’s consulting team. Even at this late date, aides said it’s unclear who’s in charge of the campaign.

As I noted in my May 19 blog post on why Kamala Harris can’t keep staff, she has a record of hiring lousy top people who make things miserable for the lower-level ones (such as a sex-harasser back when she was in Sacramento that she claimed to know nothing about). She also treats staff badly, with sudden pay cuts and layoffs and demands for volunteers, which has got to be bad for morale. Worst of all, she has a chaotic management style, blaming staffers for her own shortcomings, and not allowing staff to do their jobs because the only staffer who matters is apparently her sister Maya, who appears nowhere in the hierarchy. Who’d want a boss like that?

Obviously, her problem is a failure of leadership even at the staff level, a bad thing in a supposed leader of the U.S. She’s created her career by sucking up to powerful men, such as Willie Brown, her former “boyfriend,” and campaigning on her looks — her Instagrams, her selfies, her Vogue photoshoots, as well as some suspicious flattery from President Obama. None of those things is useful at this point for keeping staff on board and running a well-maintained Office of the Vice President. Can you imagine these things happening when Mike Pence had that position? We never heard about problems like that with his staff.

Even Joe Biden is able to keep staff, however strange it may seem. As the Times euphemistically concludes:

Unlike President Biden, who has been surrounded by the same top aides for the majority of his political career, Ms. Harris entered the administration with many new employees. Many of those officials came in with an understanding that they would stay only on a short-term basis.

So as Harris plans a slew of travel, seems to her staff like a good time to leave. Heckuvajob, Kammie. It’s almost as if the staff planned their exit this way as if to send Harris a message.

Nobody is Winning here Despite All the Promises Made
By Salena Zito

VANDERGRIFT, Penn.-
All of those strident promises of having their back from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris when the Steelworkers gave them their endorsement have been empty; both Biden and Harris have been here since the strike began never once meeting or talking with the men and women on strike.
It has been 89 days since any one of these striking workers has crossed the painted picket line here or at any of the other nine ATI plants, 89 days since any of them have received a paycheck, 89 days since they felt any certainty about their future — 89 days they will never get back.
It has also been 89 days since ATI has been able to run at full steam, as it can when all 1,300 skilled workers are at their jobs, said Bill Richards: “There is no way they can hire people off the streets who have the same skill and training that we do to do the job right.”

Nobody is winning here.
